Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for May 25, 2019

Flip Gordon beats Karl Fredericks with the STF. Both men shake hands after the match.

Jeff Cobb shows up. He says the last few weeks have not been good to him, as he lost the ROH World Television Championship. He tells Shane Taylor that he did not pin or submit, and that nobody has ever been able to do it to him while he has been in Ring of Honor. Cobb says that Taylor may be shaking in his boots, and that while Taylor while be able to sleep better knowing he is not here to challenge him for his rematch due to the fact that he is here to challenge someone who claims to be the best champion in Ring of Honor: Matt Taven. As soon as Cobb states that he wants Taven as well as the ROH World Championship, Taven shows up and says he likes Cobb like a "little Hawaiian Buddha" before admitting he is impressive, then says he is the greatest champion in ROH history. He says that he already defended against Flip Gordon, Mark Haskins and PCO, and says he is not worried about Cobb after Cobb lost the Television title. Taven says he fears no man, for he is Matt Taven, and he has no problem defending the World title against him anytime, anywhere. After teasing defending the title tonight, he says he will not do it tonight, then throws the microphone at Cobb, telling him to take care of the microphone for him.

We hear from Kenny King, who says that he can see again and that he pretended to be blind to study Jay Lethal. He says it does not matter if he and Lethal are in a best-of-three series, and not only is he in his head and a step ahead of him, he's been around the block.

We hear from Jay Lethal, who says that Kenny King wants to be in the ring with someone better than him to elevate himself and that Kenny has a trick up his sleeve. He says that he will leave the first match a winner while Kenny King will just be leaving the ring.

"The Last Real Man" Silas Young shows up with another wrestler following him to the ring. This wrestler's name is Baxter Belafonte, a rookie from the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area who is here as part of an exhibition with Silas. He demands that Bobby Cruise get in the ring and hold the microphone as he applies a hold to Baxter's arm and applies illegal maneuvers to him such as fish hooks, hair grabs and nerve holds to him to show "the pure rules of professional wrestling" and how to be a technical wrestler before kicking Baxter in the groin.

Kenny King beats Jay Lethal in the first match of their best-of-three series following a low blow behind referee Todd Sinclair's back following a Lethal Injection. King leads 1-0.
