Collision Course - Collision recap for January 27, 2024

The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley) beat Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor and "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty) with a rear naked choke from Moxley to Shane Taylor.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Komander and Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett). Roderick Strong tells Komander to imagine himself as AEW International Champion for five weeks until he beats him at Revolution, and syas this can only happen with their help. Roderick then forcefully shakes Komander's hand when he asks if they have a deal.

Orange Cassidy retains the AEW International Champioship against Komander. During the match, Undisputed Kingdom (Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett) watch the match from ringside. Near the end of the match, Komander wipes Taven and Bennett out from the top rope as Roddy is on the apron. After the match, Roderick pretends to hand the International Championship to Orange only to drop it on the mat.

It is revealed that Daniel Garcia has been laid out and bloodied backstage.

In backstage footage from Dynamite, "Timeless" Toni Storm says it is not over between her and "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo, then says she cannot watch Mariah May's match on Collision due to having some race horses in Bossier City, Lousiana that had to be put down.

Mariah May beats Lady Frost.

Backstage, we hear from Swerve Strickland, who says AEW has a bright idea to have him and "Hangman" Adam Page go at each other again with Dealer's Choice matches. He asks who Adam Page could have left in store for him before he says that he will send Toa Liona after Hangman.

Backstage, we hear from "Hangman" Adam Page. He says that Wednesday will be Toa Liona's first loss, then says that Swerve Strickland will have to wait the whole show to find out who he will be facing.

Eddie Kingston beats Willie Mack. He then guests on commentary for the next match.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats Yuji Nagata.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler). Wheeler says they are worried about Daniel Garcia, but they will face The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews). Mark Brisoce shows up and says that if Garcia cannot be cleared tonight, he would like to tag with them tonight. Harwood says it is touch and go and that it is also Garcia's decision, but he is the first person they will call.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The Machine" Brian Cage, who wants to know why everybody is talking about Hook, especially when he made the FTW Championship relevant. All of a sudden, Hook shows up and tells him that if he wants another shot at the title, he is right here.

Serena Deeb beats Robyn Renegade with the Serenity Lock. After the match, Serena Deeb asks the fans if they missed her, then says that for the past fifteen months, she has asked herself if, when and how she would come back, and now, she is standing in the ring and it feels "damn good" to be back. She says that she is back to elevate the women's division, put the wrestling back in All Elite Wrestling and become champion. Serena says this is not just what she does, but who she is, and she is back.

Before the next match, Mark Briscoe is attacked by The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) and tossed off the ramp into a table. Not long after, Daniel Garcia, with his forehead wrapped in bandages, gets in the match

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Daniel Garcia beat The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) in an Escape The Cage Trios Elimination Match. During the match, Julia Hart spits black mist into Garcia's face, and as Malakai Black tries to leave the cage, Garcia demands he finish the job. Garcia gets the upper hand on Malakai and piledrives him into a chair, then climbs over the cage wall while the cage door is slammed on Malakai's head by none other than Mark Briscoe.

Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for May 12, 2021

Jon Moxley retains the IWGP United States Championship against Yugi Nagata. Nagata and Moxley bow to each other in a sign of respect after the match, then Moxley raises Nagata's hand.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews The Inner Circle. Oritz says they had The Pinnacle bloodied and bruised until MJF did what he did, and also mentions that Santana has been locked up after last week's match. Jake Hager tells The Pinnacle that they failed to get the job done, and that they want another match. Sammy Guevara says that they will not stop going after The Pinnacle as long as they are both in the same company, and demands a rematch or else they will turn their coronation into a funeral and put The Pinnacle in the grave.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. He says that he has never not been proud to be an American as he brings up the subject of patriotism, and says that Anthony Ogogo has run down the States yet has a work visa and is afforded the same rights as anyone. He says that Ogogo did not come here to live "the England dream," and tells him that the dream lives in this industry. He also announces the upcoming birth of his daughter and wants to tell her that he did not have a defeatist attitude and fought back. Cody then announces that at Double or Nothing, the venue will be at full capacity when Ogogo wrestles not The American Nightmare, but "The American Dream" when he picks up the sword.

We see a vignette for SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) regarding their upcoming AEW World Tag Team Championship match against The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson).

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) after Matt Jackson hits Christopher Daniels in the eyes with cold spray before hitting him in the head with the bottle. As per pre-match stipulation, SoCal Uncensored must split up.

Backstage, Eddie Kingston and Jon Moxley trash The Elite's dressing room.

Backstage, Dasha Gonzalez interviews Christian Cage. Christian says that nobody is denying that Taz was once a bad man, but Taz will not be stepping between those ropes. He says he has an open contract next week and tells him to send a member of Team Taz at him. He also says he will be in the Casino Battle Royal and win it, then Matt Sydal shows up and says he is in it with his mind on redemption before telling him he signed the open contract for next week.

PAC vs. Orange Cassidy ends in a double-count. During the match, Don Callis shows up and distracts both PAC and referee Aubrey Edwards, allowing Kenny Omega to get in the ring and hit PAC in the back with the AEW World Championship. This causes the match to end in a double count-out. After the match, Don Callis says that he and Kenny Omega have the night off, and Omega says they will be having a road trip until Tony Schiavone informs them that as per Tony Khan, there will be a World title match against both PAC and Cassidy at Double or Nothing. Kenny gets mad at Aubrey Edwards, then he and Don Callis leave.

Backstage, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) find out that their dressing room has been trashed by Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston. Matt Jackson brags about how he and Nick Jackson split up SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian), then mocks Brian Pillman Jr. as he addresses next week's match against The Varsity Blond Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) s. Matt then invites Moxley and Eddie to a superkick party at Double or Nothing.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "Hangman" Adam Page and The Dark Order. The Dark Order offers to help Page get back to the top, while Page says it was bound to happen after it took three guys to beat him. He says that "The Machine" Brian Cage didn't beat him as much as Taz calling the shot, then says if it were Cage, he would not be satisfied with that win. He tells Cage to meet him in the ring alone and earn it.

The Pinnacle head to the ring. MJF says that he is the "Demo God" and the king of AEW after Blood and Guts, and that he will not be referred to as "the greatest of all time." He tells the fans to bow not just to him, but to The Pinnacle, and that the fans have them to thank for AEW being #1 on cable last week and breaking TV ratings records in Canada due to having "a Canadian hero" in Shawn Spears. MJF says that The Inner Circle is now down two men and is puzzled as to why they would want a rematch, then asks the fans if they want a rematch before telling them it is not going to happen. Tully Blanchard says he has been at the top many times in the past, and that The Pinnacle took everything The Inner Circle could dish out and made them surrender, putting them at the top of the world. Tully then gifts The Pinnacle with expensive watches, and says that The Pinnacle is on top of the world looking down on everyone else. Suddenly, a car horn is heard. Ortiz, Jake Hager and Sammy Guevara then shows up on a winemobile, and after MJF says that Chris Jericho and Santana are gone - the latter being gone after being put in jail for trying to stab him with a fork - Jericho pops out of the vehicle. Jericho asks for a rematch, and MJF refuses, which leads to Sammy Guevara spraying The Pinnacle with A Little Bit Of The Bubbly. An infuriated MJF then gives The Inner Circle a rematch in a Stadium Stampede match at Double or Nothing, and says that if The Inner Circle loses, they have to break up forever.

In footage from earlier today, Jim Ross interviews Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Britt talks about the nose injury that Hikaru Shida gave her, and says the monster that Shida created is going to dethrone her unless she can kill her. She says that there will be a new champion at Double or Nothing, and says that while Hikaru Shida has been champion for a difficult year, she is the face and pulse of the women's division, which will live on its own when she becomes champion.

Thunder Rosa beats Jazmin Allure.

In footage from earlier today, Tony Schiavone interviews Jade Cargill. Jade Cargill says she handles her own business and nobody else does, and while she is listening to offers, she is "that bitch."

We hear from Darby Allin, who says that he has no time to think about last week as he drives around his hometown, which reminds him of who he is and how far he has come, and despite how much he has changed, he still loves it. He says that despite his talk about glass ceilings, he asks what Miro has done since he came to AEW, and says that he does not buy what Miro is selling before stating he knows who he is and that Miro will not take the TNT Championship from him.

Miro beats Darby Allin with Game Over to become the AEW TNT Champion! During the match, Scorpio Sky and "All Ego" Ethan Page attack Sting during the commercial break. After the match, Lance Archer shows up with Jake "The Snake" Roberts holding him back, with Archer wanting a piece of Miro.

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for June 1, 2019

The Allure (Angelina Love, Velvet Sky, "The Exotic Goddess" Mandy Leon) show up to start tonight's show. Velvet says that they brought credibility to women's wrestling before there was Ring of Honor and started a revolution before the evolution, and because of that, they are the most credible competitors to show up in Ring of Honor. She says that she has beaten some of the best the world has to offer, and Angelina boasts of doing the same and becoming a six-time women's champion. Angelina says that not only do The Allure know how to win, but they know how to make an impact, and that is why they chose to debut at G1 Supercard. Mandy tells all "the Twitter trolls hiding in their mothers' basements" that she is the foundation of Women of Honor, and without her, there would be no women's wrestling or Kelly Klein in ROH. As she states that all the women in ROH such as Klein and Jenny Rose have done is embarrass themselves, Rose shows up, followed by Klein. Both sides brawl before security show up to break them apart, and during the brawl, Jenny Rose is blinded with hairspray by Velvet Sky. Klein says that if The Allure wants to come out and talk about their accolades and accomplishments, then it is time for . She says that while she and Rose aren't on the same page, they are reading from the same book and neither of them want The Allure in ROH. They challenge The Allure to a tag team match any time, anywhere.

The Bouncers (The Beer City Bruiser and Brian Milonas) beat the team of Clark Connors and Alex Coughlin, The Kingdom (TK O'Ryan and Vinny Marseglia) and Coast To Coast (Shaheem Ali and LSG) in a Four Corners Survival Match.

Backstage, Quinn McKay interviews "Overkill" Mark Haskins and "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams. Haskins says Bully Ray has been a problem for far too long and that they are fed up, and something must be done. Williams admits that LifeBlood's numbers may be low right now, but they are here and they are ready. "The Darewolf" PJ Black shows up and tells them that if they need anybody to watch their back, he's their guy.

Josh "The Goods" Woods beats Maverick Boone.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL and SANADA) beat Satoshi Kojima and Yuji Nagata.

Dalton Castle shows up. He says that he has had a little time to think about what has happened as of late and that he has come to terms with the fact that he lost to Rush at G1 Supercard spectacularly. He states that he is not sashmaed to have lost to Rush in 16 seconds, for Rush is nothing more than a dirty, filthy cheater and cheaters need to be punished. Therefore, he is challenging Rush and his brother Dragon Lee to a match at Best In The World, and says that Rush will pay for what he did with his family when he breaks every bone in Dragon Lee's body. As he continues to talk, The Boys show up. Dalton Castle looks for both boys, then tries to attack one of them only for The Boys to send him out of the ring. The double-team does not last, as Castle catches one of them and proceeds to beat both of them up. One of The Boys is placed on a table, and Castle powerslams the other Boy on top of the first Boy. When the table does not break, he drop kicks the table into them to end the show.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for May 21, 1998

Tony Schiavone interviews The Giant in the ring to start tonight's show. The Giant shows up with both title belts of the WCW World Tag Team Championships, and says he and Sting had a little disagreement and that he got carried away when he spat in his face. He says Sting did not fully understand the question that he was imposing, and says that Sting is "under the weather" and is not here. He says that he and Sting are fine and that Sting made the right decision, saying he is "nWo all the way." All of a sudden, Lex Luger shows up as Schiavone says that Sting's actions on Monday night seemed to prove otherwise, and says that it is a funny thing to hear what is coming out of The Giant's mouth and that security - which has shown up along with referees and some wrestlers from the locker room - is not necessary. He says that he has talked to Sting personally and says everything The Giant is saying is a total, unadulterated lie. Luger says he and a lot of fans doubted Sting once, and that he is not going down that road again. He says that if The Giant wants to be part of the nWo, that is fine, but now that he has attacked Sting and lied his ass off, he is now challenging him to a match later on tonight. The Giant says that is fine, and he gives Luger the same choice he gave Sting, saying he can make the right choice or the wrong choice, given that they have been tag team partners and champions together. When asked if he wants to join the nWo, Luger says his answer is the same as Sting's, and he spits in The Giant's face before getting off the apron. Referees and wrestlers get in the ring to keep The Giant from charging at Luger, and the wrestlers that get in the ring - all cruiserweights - are easily fended off by The Giant. He says that if Lex Luger wants some of him, he's got some.

Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Yuji Nagata despite physical involvement by Sonny Onoo.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho shows up with a sign saying "Conspiracy Victim" and a clipboard. He says that the footage of him throwing a temper tantrum after Slamboree was "propaganda" and that it will never happen again, then says that he is the victim of a conspiracy so large that it is as big as the 1918 Chicago "Black Sox," the Roswell Incident and the John F. Kennedy assassination and has robbed him of the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. He says this conspiracy has been perpetrated by "the snake oil salesmen" in the WCW office and the locker room, and demands that WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon face him in the ring right now. Dillon shows up soon after He goes on to call Dillon "a twisted old fruit" and reads the evidence of a conspiracy against him in the form of the list of participants in the Cruiserweight Championship battle royal, which does not include Dean Malenko. Jericho says that there was no way he should have lost to Dean Malenko and that the battle royal was "fixed," and says he will not stop hounding Dillon until he finally faces him and gives him and Jerichoholics what they want: Jericho as Cruiserweight Champion again.

Chris Jericho beats Super Calo with the Lion Tamer.

Raven shows up with riot police. He says that Saturn implied at Slamboree that he no longer needed him and that he wanted to be on his own. He says their friendship was more important than his selfish desire to be United States Champion. He then asks Saturn who took his collect calls when he was in detention homes and got him his jobs in Extreme Championship Wrestling and WCW as Saturn shows up, and says he did. He tells Saturn that he thought their friendship was important and that Saturn was loyal. Saturn says his loyalty is not at question; rather, it is Raven's being drunk with power, as he is not a mindless zombie that follows the guru and he has never been a member of Raven's Flock. Instead, he is his friend, and their relationship is 50/50. He tells Raven that if their friendship is to continue, Raven will not boss him around again. Raven says Saturn was right and that he is wrong and he is sorry. Saturn leaves, then Raven says he knows Mortis is in the building wearing a rainbow wig and a "horrible" disguise, and calls him out for a one-on-one match. Mortis, carrying his mask with him, shows up from out of the stage and heads down the ramp to the ring. Raven then sics the riot police on him, then a fan jumps the barricade and hits a reverse Russian leg sweep on Raven before running to the back. The announce table is confused as to who was Mortis.

Fit Finley retains the WCW World Television Championship against Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.

Tony Schiavone announces that the WCW Executive Committee has named a #1 contender for the WCW World Television Championship: Booker T. Schiavone is about to interview Booker T when "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit shows up instead, wanting to talk to whoever it was who made the final decision on this. Booker T then shows up and says he respect Benoit a lot, but he is not scared of him. He says that the committee have made their decision and he can live with it, and says they have had their battles, that it is over and done with, and now it is his turn. Benoit tells Booker T that he is the #1 contender and that he will get what he deserves. Benoit almost leaves, then blindsides Booker T as soon as he turns his back. Stevie Ray then shows up, telling Booker to get up before asking him what is wrong with him, saying he needs to remember where he is and not to lay down for Benoit as he tells Booker to fight him. He then tells Booker T to head back to the back and show what kind of man he is.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beats Brian Adams by disqualification after Biel tossing referee Charles Robinson across the ring for grabbing him by the hear to break a hold performed by Adams on the ropes. After the match, Adams goes for a big boot on Hacksaw, but inadvertently kicks Vincent off the ring apron before being slammed onto the mat by Duggan. Vincent then gives Duggan's 2x4 to Adams, who swings it at Charles Robinson and misses before Duggan clotheslines it out of Adams' hands.

Saturn beats Hammer after Raven hits Hammer with an Evenflow DDT as Reese distracts referee Mark Curtis on the ring apron. Saturn tells Raven he does not need his help, but Raven says he does.

Rick Rude shows up, then introduces Curt Hennig as the next WCW United States Heavyweight Champion. Rude then says people have been asking him which side of the nWo he is on, and says he is true blue and a friend until the end, and says he and Hennig live by the buddy system and have each other's backs. He then says that the only colors they will be wearing are black and blue. Hennig says Goldberg and his undefeated streak is what is really bothering him, and calls him "the biggest mark [he has] ever seen in his life." He says that if he wants to put his undefeated streak on the line against him, he can put a blemish on it right now. Rick Rude then gives Goldberg ten seconds to get in the ring, but Hennig says he has a better idea. He challenges Goldberg to a match for the United States title at The Great American Bash, where he says that Goldberg will run into an iceberg from Minnesota and sink to the bottom, never to see light again. Rick Rude then tells Goldberg "United we stand...secluded, you fall."

Horace beats Juventud Guerrera after Reese hits Juventud with a choke bomb behind the referee's back.

Tony Schiavone nearly gets hit in the head with a drink on the commentary table.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth show up. Savage said that at Slamboree, he promised the tag team match from Hell and says that it would have been completely insane. He brags that he would go to Hell and make a deal with the devil to get Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan together in the ring and make "Rowdy" Roddy Piper his tag team partner. He admits that both he and Piper hate each other and that they both hate Bret even more than that, and tells Piper that he can count on him and that he thinks he can count on Piper. He then says that if Piper wants a piece of him afterwards, that works for him, because last Monday's apology that he did not give him was very weak. He says that if Piper is not man enough to apologize to him, then he is man enough to beat an apology out of Piper. Savage says he wants Piper fired up for that tag team battle, and after they beat Hart and Hogan, he will beat up Piper. Savage says he doesn't know what an icon is, but he knows what the madness is, and is Piper is brave enough to tag team with him, then they can go at it afterwards.

We hear from Eddie Guerrero, Chavo Guerrero Jr. and their mother. Eddie butts in, saying that his mother is proud of what he is doing with Chavo, but Chavo and mother say otherwise.

Before the next match, Eddie Guerrero tells Chavo Guerrero Jr. that the family is a bit confused as to what is going on as of late, but Chavo Guerrero Jr. gets himself fired up for his own match and tells Eddie to get out, much to Eddie's own confusion.

Dean Malenko retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Chavo Guerrero Jr. with the Texas Cloverleaf. After the match, Eddie dares Chavo to hit him after hitting him with his towel. Chavo rears back to hit him, then kisses him instead before slapping Eddie in the face, much to the surprise of Eddie.

Lex Luger beats The Giant by disqualification. During the match, a fan tries to get into the ring but is quickly caught by WCW security. Later on in the match, Sting shows up wearing an nWo shirt, but it is the fake nWo Sting and not the real one. He and The Giant stomp Luger while The Giant drapes an nWo shirt on Luger to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for April 13, 1998

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Scott Steiner beats Fit Finley with the Steiner Recliner. During the match, Scott Steiner gets in a verbal confrontation with Larry "The Axe" Hennig - the father of Curt Henning - in the front row.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says he was screwed over by WWF, and that he is tired of crying about it. If he sees somebody getting screwed over in WCW, it's his call.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund plugs the WCW Hotline with a scouting report from Mike Tenay.

Ultimo Dragon beats Lenny Lane with the Dragon Sleeper.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says the only thing he cares about is winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Win or lose, he wants a fair shot at the title.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Rowdy" Roddy Piper backstage. Piper puts Kevin Nash and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in a one-on-one match against each other tonight. After that, he plans to stare Hogan down eye-to-eye and rid the wrestling world of him, as he is sick and tired of his shenanigans with Sting and "Macho Man" Randy Savage. No sooner does he says this that that Hogan shows up with The Disciple to attack Piper, and Hogan tells Piper that if he wants a confrontation tonight, he's got one. Medical attention is quickly administered to Piper after this.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant, who is wearing a red kneepad on his left leg. He announces that Piper will be just fine and ready for Spring Stampede, and tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Disciple and the rest of the nWo that he hasn't forgotten about what has happened to him as of late, and says if he gets his hands on the bat at the pay-per-view, he's going to turn someone into a popsicle. As for Kevin Nash, he tells him that if Hogan stops, he's going to get stuck. He tells Nash to come to Spring Stampede ad put his neck out nice and clear so he can choke slam him.

Johnny Grunge beats Chavo Guerrero Jr. after sitting on Chavo as he goes for a sunset flip pinfall.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart calls Kevin Nash "scum" and says "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is worse, and that nothing could make him easier than "watching those two snakes kill each other off."

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls, where they toss Easter candy to the crowd.

Scott Hudson reports from Fargo, North Dakota - the site of this week's Thunder - for the Starburst Fruit Chews Road Report.

Kevin Nash shows up. He says there is a lot of things going on tonight, and that he has watched "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan run out the back door as he knows he wants no part of him. He also says it's a long time for "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, as Hogan go to him "and the law got a hold of George Michael last week." The real mystery to him, however, is where "Macho Man" Randy Savage stands in the middle of this, as he has not seen him tonight. The way he sees it, since Hogan is not in the building and he knows Sting is, he'd have the WCW World Heavyweight Championship around his waist right now if it weren't for Hogan. Sting runs to the ring, bat in hand, and WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon shows up before a confrontation can begin. Dillon takes the microphone, but Sting takes the microphone from Dillon and says that if Nash wants a World title match, he'll let him have it, and if he wants it tonight, he'll let him have it tonight. He gives his bat to Nash, saying if Nash wants the bat, he's got the bat. Dillon tries to stop both men, reminding them that WCW makes the matches and that if they want the match tonight, they'll have to wait until the main event to have it. Sting takes the microphone from Dillon again and says he's also tired of Nash "bitchin' about that power bomb" and if Nash wants the Jackknife Power Bomb reinstated, he can have it reinstated. Dillon allows for it, even though he says it is against his better judgement. Sting gives Nash the crotch chop before leaving, and even Kevin Nash is surprised by Sting's behavior.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Glacier with the Crippler Crossface. It is announced during the match that Benoit and Booker T will have another rematch for the WCW World Television Championship at Spring Stampede, and this time, there will be no time limit.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Before the next match, Buff Bagwell shows up with Eric Bischoff. Bagwell says there's one thing he cannot do yet, even though he is great at everything he does. That thing is predicting the future, and Buff Bagwell says if he could, he would have challenged Rick Steiner to a match instead of Lex Luger. He says nobody lays a hand on one of the most dynamic men in professional wrestling that anyone has ever seen in Eric Bischoff as he calls Rick out for hitting Bischoff with a vertical suplex on the aisle last week on Thunder. Buff Bagwell says he will beat up Lex Luger tonight anyway, as he is a man of his word. Bischoff says that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan is not here to take care of Rick Steiner - and will be here next week - is that Hogan is on THe Tonight Show With Jay Leno. Bagwell then calls out Luger.

Lex Luger beats Buff Bagwell by disqualification when Eric Bischoff tries to interfere by kicking at Luger as Luger has Bagwell in the Torture Rack. Luger grabs Bischoff and racks him, but Scott Steiner shows up and attacks Luger. Luger tries to fight back, but the numbers game catches up with him until Rick Steiner hits the ring, causing Scott Steiner, Bagwell and Bischoff to scatter out of the ring.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart says if he could give "Macho Man" Randy Savage one piece of advice, it'd be to get rid of the nWo and become his own man, because "if you play with pigs, you're gonna get dirty."

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho welcomes everyone to "Monday Night Jericho" and claims that Super Calo is really Prince Iaukea disguised as Super Calo. He commands referee Scott Dickinson to remove Super Calo's mask, and when Super Calo tells Jericho he is not Prince Iaukea, Jericho says Super Calo admitted he is Prince Iaukea (even though he did not). Jericho insists that Dickinson remove Super Calo's mask, and when Dickinson starts to do it, Jericho gets a cheap shot on Super Calo.

Chris Jericho retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Super Calo with the Lion Tamer. Prince Iaukea rushes into the ring after the match, and Chis Jericho retreats before saying "I didn't know Prince Iaukea had a twin brother!"

Bret "The Hit Man" says he respects "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, The Giant, and Diamond Dallas Page, but he trusts Sting the most for what he's done against the nWo and tells him that if he needs his help to call him.

Kidman jumps the guardrail to stop Saturn and Hammer from fighting each other, but both men toss Kidman to the side before they get the match started.

Saturn beats Hammer with the Rings of Saturn after hitting Hammer with a move he calls the Gargoyle-plex.

Goldberg beats "Flyboy" Rocco Rock after plowing Rocco Rock through a table he is setting up with a Spear. After the match, Saturn shows up and Goldberg dares him to get in the ring, but Raven holds Saturn back by his hair. Kidman and Sick Boy go after Goldberg, but Goldberg drops Sick Boy with a military press slam before hitting Kidman with a Spear. Goldberg then says to the camera "Saturn's next! You're next, brother!"

We see a 60-second video package of Goldberg.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls. It is announced that Rick Mitchell of the Kappa Sigma fraternity of Lyon College in Batesville, Arkansas is the winner of this week's Nitro prize pack. We see some footage of his Nitro party.

Rick Rude almost guests on commentary, but tells Mike Tenay he has guests at ringside to entertain and walks with Curt Hennig down the aisle, where they meet with Curt's father Larry "The Axe" Hennig as well as Rick Rude's own father before the match.

Curt Hennig beats Yuji Nagata. During the match, Rude and Hennig gang up on Nagata in front of their respective fathers, and Larry "The Axe" Hennig removes his sweater to reveal a tanktop over his button-down shirt that says "Hennig Rules." After the match, Hennig and Rude continue to attack Nagata and handcuff him to the top rope until Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart chases them out of the ring.

Booker T retains the WCW World Television Championship against La Parka, and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit stops La Parka from hitting Booker T with a chair. Booker extends his hand in gratitude, but his leads to a shoving match between Booker and Benoit.

We see a video package of the recent events between Raven and Diamond Dallas Page.

Diamond Dallas Page retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Rage. After the match, Raven shows up and screams "What about me?" before telling him he spent three years in "a carnival freak show" because of Page. He sics the Flock on him, and tells him that if he wants the United States title, he'll have to come and get it. A fan attacks Raven from behind, and security has to pin the fan to the floor.

Scott Steiner beats Konnan after Ted DiBiase stops Vincent from interfering.

It is announced that "Macho Man" Randy Savage suffered a severe concussion, a separated shoulder and torn knee ligaments last week.

Sting retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Kevin Nash by disqualification. During the match "Macho Man" Randy Savage - now with a limp and a cast on one arm - sends Miss Elizabeth to distract the referee so that Savage can hit Sting with the cast as he has Nash in the Scorpion Death Lock. Sting kicks out after this, and Nash goes for the Jackknife Power Bomb, which is made legal for the match. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart shows up and pulls the referee out of the ring before he can count to three. He goes after Nash and puts him in the Sharpshooter. The nWo shows up, and he fights them off until Scott Steiner and Scott Norton show up, but even then he is able to keep going as Nash hits Sting with another Jackknife Power Bomb and the show ends.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for April 9, 1998

We see footage from this week's Nitro where "Macho Man" Randy Savage is given an IV feed before being placed in the ambulance.

Perry Saturn beats Tokyo Magnum with the Rings of Saturn after applying the move three times in quick succession as if to prove he can apply it whenever he wants. After the match, he tells the rest of Raven's Flock to stay out of the next fight, saying it is his own, then calls out Goldberg. Raven's Flock gets in the ring, but Goldberg clears the ring out and Hammer and Saturn are seen brawling with each other as they make their way to the back.

Prince Iaukea beats Yuji Nagata with a Northern Lights suplex. During the match, Iaukea accidentally lands on one of his knees, and shortly afterwards, Sonny Onoo tries to trip Iaukea from the outside. Iaukea hits Onoo with a double axe handle off the top rope, but Yuji Nagata gets the momentum and goes for the Nagata Lock only to take too much time showboating. Iaukea kicks Nagata away from him, and hits a Northern Lights suplex with a bridge pin to win. After the match, Chris Jericho shows up and says that Iaukea is not a cruiserweight because he is too fat to be one. Jericho says he will bring a scale to the ring later in the evening and have Iaukea stand on it to prove he is a liar, cheater and a fake who is above the 225 lb. weight limit and undeserving of a Cruiserweight title shot.

Raven shows up. He says that for years, he has listened to how Diamond Dallas Page has professed to be the hardest-working man in wrestling. Before he can say much else, a fan jumps the guardrail and tries to pull Raven out of the ring from the outside. Security quickly apprehends the fan, then Raven gets in the ring. He tries to speak again, but the microphone is cut off and he cannot even be heard until the camera near Raven is able to pick up Raven talking about how he had to spend time in Extreme Championship Wrestling and that all DDP had to do was leave his home, knock on his door and ask him for a job. He says that DDP refused to do that because he was jealous of him and how he was a bigger star than him. Raven then says DDP was supposed to be here tonight for a shot at the WCW United States Championship, but every time DDP has to earn something, he never shows up. As he says this, Raven has to switch microphones. Raven then says that when he kicks out of his Diamond Cutter and hits DDP with the Evenflow DDT at Spring Stampede, he will have his revenge.

Tony Schiavone interviews Buff Bagwell. Bagwell says that when he was throwing Lex Luger around a few months ago, he did not get the respect he deserved. He says he is 5-1 against Luger, and he is sick and tired of hearing who the real "Total Package" is. Bagwell then says that at next week's Nitro, he will show Luger why he is buff and why he is the stuff along with why he is "the real Total Package."

"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Konnan with the Crippler Crossface. During the match, it is announced that there will be no time limit in the WCW Television Championship match between Benoit and Booker T at Spring Stampede.

Rick Rude boots Mike Tenay off the commentary table to guest on commentary for the next match.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after Rick Rude leaves the commentary table and handcuffs Duggan to the top rope from the apron. After the match, Hennig and Rude continue to gang up on Duggan until Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart and The British Bulldog run to the ring. Hennig and Rude head to the back, but not before Rude tosses the keys to the handcuffs into the ring.

Lex Luger beats Glacier with the Torture Rack. During the match, Buff Bagwell is seen lounging on the stage while watching the match.

Kidman beats Psychosis. During the match, Chris Jericho shows up with a scale and standing on the apron, distracting referee Mark Curtis. La Parka shows up and hits Psychosis with a steel chair as he goes for the top rope guillotine leg drop, allowing Kidman to win with the Seven Year Itch. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Jericho in the ring. Jericho demands that Tony Schiavone refer to him as the master of 1,004 holds as well as lord and master of all the Jericho and that he not let any of the fans put their hands on him. He then says he has showed up with a scale as promised and calls out Prince Iaukea for the weigh-in. Iaukea shows up and gets on the scale, which reads 218 lbs. Jericho says the scale is not calibrated properly, then hits Iaukea in the head with the scale before putting him in the Lion Tamer.

Scott Steiner beats Disco Inferno with the Steiner Recliner.

Booker T retains the WCW World Television Championship by disqualification against Chris Jericho after Jericho pulls Mickey Jay into the path of Booker T's drop kick off the top rope.

Mike Tenay announces that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is not in the building at this time due to inclement weather and will therefore not be interviewed tonight. After an apology is made, Eric Bischoff and Scott Steiner show up. Bischoff tells Schiavone to stop lying, as he, the people, and even Flair all know when he is lying. Bischoff tells Schiavone he can make excuses for Ric Flair, and says Flair is not here because he wakes up every morning, looks in the mirror and looks back at his career only to ask himself why he could not be remembered as the greatest wrestler in history and why he could not be better than "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan. Bischoff says that Flair has to look at the empire as the nWo and ask himself why he could not be the man who built WCW. The show then goes to break.

WHen the show comes back from break, Eric Bischoff is still singing the praises of "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan to Tony Schiavone while Scott Steiner is standing in the background. Steiner then says Flair is not in the building tonight because he knew he had to face him and he is running scared. He then calls Flair a coward, then "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson shows up and tells Bischoff that he may be retired, but he isn't dead and he still works for the company, and if Bischoff did not walk around backstage with his nose up in the air, he would know that. He then says Flair is not here tonight for all the wrong reasons, and says that while Flair wasn't a movie star or a bodybuilder, he left a piece of himself wherever he went and he gave the people what they came for. He says that it is all about wrestling, and that all Flair ever asked for in return was a little dignity and respect and to be treated for who he is, as it is better than anything the nWo has going. Bischoff says Flair is garbage, and that he will be treated like it and that he hopes the people remember Anderson as the only person in WCW to come out and defend him. Suddenly, Lex Luger shows up, and Anderson says it is clear he is not the only one. Bischoff teases attacking Anderson, but Scott Steiner attacks Luger and they brawl to the back. Rick Steiner then sneaks up behind Eric Bischoff and hits him with a vertical suplex on the floor near the ramp while Ted DiBiase watches.

Before the next match, Kevin Nash says he has been watching clips throughout the show of "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in the back and that he has noticed that "everything is hunky-dory when it's Hogan's way," but when someone gets in Hogan's path, "Macho Man" Randy Savage gets run over. He also says that he had Sting beat on Monday night until Hogan was so jealous of the fact that he would be World champion that he had to interfere. Nash goes on to say that he told Hogan how it would be, and that tonight, Hogan will see where the nWo lies and who they are loyal to - him, not Hogan. As for the Bat Match at Spring Stampede, he and Hogan are at a disadvantage, as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper made the match and everyone knows that Piper is "the finest switch hitter in the business." He also tells The Giant that he has not forgotten about him, and that he will take him out once and for all at Spring Stampede. He then says being this big and this sexy is just too sweet. After Rick Steiner shows up for the next match, Nash tells Rick Steiner that he is the one who got in Scott Steiner's head and that the rest of the nWo has showed up to back his actions.

Rick Steiner beats Kevin Nash by disqualification after Konnan gets involved followed by the rest of the nWo. Kevin Nash hits Rick Steiner with the Jackknife Power Bomb, and as WCW security shows up to arrest Nash again, the nWo attacks security. Ted DiBiase shows up with The Giant, who attacks the nWo, to end the show.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for March 19, 1998

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says everyone knows that "Terry Hut" is his favorite town, and that the Jerichoholics deserve to give him a round of applause for being their hero and role model. On the subject of Rey Mysterio Jr.'s knee, he says that sometimes, faces get slapped and feelings get hurt, and that it will never happen again.

Chris Jericho retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Super Calo with the Lion Tamer.

Kendall Windham beats El Dandy. During the match, Raven's Flock takes their seats in the front row, and Raven is seen holding up the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, which he has never officially won.

Tony Schiavone interviews Curt Hennig and Rick Rude. Hennig says "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan sent him on a mission to destroy Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who was not in the building on Nitro and is not in the building tonight. He says that Bret is as dumb as he looks, and that if Bret says in Canada forever, he and Rude will have gotten the job done. Rude says Bret has a new nickname: Bret "The Zit Man" Hart, because at Uncensored, he and Hennig proved that Hart was "nothing more than a 240-lb. boil on the booty of life." He also says that with the rest of the Hart family, one will dredge up the same results should they fester up "a bad case of acne." Rude then says he sees professional wrestling like he does Indiana: it is a great big pack of puss, and he and Hennig will be "a-lancin' and a-prancin' for a long time to come." Hennig says that is a long time, because for 26 years and more, he and Rude have had their way with the world, and in the last 15 years, they have ruled the wrestling business whether the people know it or not. He says that they have never lost a fight, and that Rude knows that is the way it was, that is the way it is and that is the way it always will be. Hennig and Rude then joke around with Rude asking Hennig if he wants a Halls cough drop, with Hennig saying no because they are just too sweet.

We see footage from last night's MTV Live, where Raven is seen on a TV screen insulting everyone and saying he should be on the show. Suddenly, Raven shows up from behind, attacks Diamond Dallas Page with a stop sign and steals the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from him.

Ray Traylor beats Barry Darsow.

It is announced before the next match that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper will be coming to Nitro next week to make a challenge.

Prince Iaukea beats Yuji Nagata after Sonny Onoo tries to distract referee Charles Robinson and kicks Yuji Nagata in the back of the head when Prince Iaukea reverses an Irish whip.

Brian Adams beats Marty Jannetty.

Eddie Guerrero beats Psychosis after shoving Psychosis off the top rope to hit the top rope frog splash for the win.

Raven beats Brad Armstrong in a Raven's Rules Match. During the match, Raven tells Armstrong he gave him an opportunity for salvation and redemption and that he did not take him up on that offer. He then says he made no such offer to Diamond Dallas Page, because someone as evil and heinous as him does not deserve a second chance. He says DDP deserted him, and he can never forgive him for that. He then says last night was to be DDP's moment of shining glory on MTV Live, but he took all of that way from him, saying that should have been him. Because of that, he took a stop sign and beat him unmercifully about the head with it. He says that DDP is about to feel the suffering that is his destiny, and while he grows more powerful, DDP will grow weaker. He hits Armstrong with an Evenflow DDT before saying that DDP is nevermore.

We see a video package for Bret "The Hit Man" Hart.

Scott Norton beats "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit following a distraction by Vincent.

Bill Goldberg - at this point known as just Goldberg - beats Wayne Bloom. After the match, an angry Perry Saturn jumps the guardrail in an attempt to take on Goldberg, but is pulled back by the rest of Raven's Flock.

Rick Steiner beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after Rick Rude trips Steiner off the top rope. After the match, Rick Rude attacks Steiner, but Ted DiBiase punches Rick Rude before Henning knocks him out. Rick Rude then wraps his tie around Steiner's neck so that Hennig can get a few shots in. Steiner, however, fights back and hits Hennig with a belly-to-belly suplex before going for the ground and pound. Brian Adams, Vincent and Scott Norton rush in and stomp Steiner, but Ray Traylor runs in in an attempt to take on the nWo. Traylor, unfortunately, gets ganged up on. The nWo goes on the attack, with Rick Rude choking DiBiase out with his tie, until Goldberg suddenly rushes in and takes out the nWo single-handedly with a couple of Spears. Rick Steiner and Ray Traylor then clear out the ring, and the nWo retreats.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for February 26, 1998

Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho beat Booker T and Dean Malenko after Eddie pins Booker T while Malenko has Jericho in the Texas Cloverleaf.

This week on WCW Saturday Night: Disco Inferno! The British Bulldog! Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart! Eddie Guerrero! Raven! "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit!

Mike Tenay interviews Diamond Dallas Page in the ring. DDP says last week's match was everything he thought it was going to be, and "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit took him to another level as they both gave everything they had. He has more respect for Benoit now than he did before that night. DDP then says Benoit is not the kind of guy who will talk about you behind your back and not say it to your face in the ring, and that they have slapped each other when face-to-face, and knows that Benoit was "blind punching" when he hit him last week when he helped out against Raven. He then goes on to say that both he and Benoit think Raven is a piece of garbage. Suddenly, Raven shows up with the rest of Raven's Flock, asking where his shot at the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship is. DDP says that if he wants a title shot, all he has to do is come into the ring and get it. Raven says no, and says he wants him in the main event next Thursday. DDP tells Raven to be careful what he wants, as he just might get the bang.

Fit Finley beats Brad Armstrong.

The British Bulldog beats Dave Taylor.

Mike Tenay interviews Curt Hennig. Hennig says Bret "The Hit Man" Hart has to be one of the stupidest human beings alive, as he was given an opportunity to join the nWo and they welcomed him with open arms but he decided to join WCW. Hennig then says that he stepped up to the plate when "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan wanted Bret dealt with, as he and Bret Hart are the same size, have the same amount of experience and happen to be second-generation wrestlers. He also says that Bret's father could not beat his father, and asks what makes Bret think he can beat him. As for Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, Neidhart is only facing him tonight because Bret is avoiding him, as he is the greatest athlete and wrestler the nWo has ever had. Hennig says it takes a lot of guts for Bret to call himself "the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be," but when Bret steps in the ring with "the wrestler that made Minnesota famous," he will get the job done.

Bill Goldberg beats Rick Fuller.

Raven's Flock is seen in the front row.

Yuji Nagata beats La Parka with the Nagata Lock. During the match, Sonny Onoo gets on the apron to distract referee Nick Patrick, and Disco Inferno runs in and hits Onoo with a Chart Buster. Meanwhile, La Parka tries to hit Nagata with the chair, but Nagata boots the steel chair into his face and applies the Nagata Lock for the win.

Scott Hall shows up. After the usual WCW/nWo survey, he talks about his shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Uncensored, and says he has been wrestling every single night for the last two years while Sting has been hanging out up in the rafters. He admits that Sting has a cool entrance, but he wants to know what Sting has got when he steps through the ropes. The fans chant for Sting, and Hall says the fans want Sting, but not as bad as he wants Sting, and says that at Uncensored, he will have to prove to him that he is better, and he does not think he can. He then says that if Sting wants Scott Hall, "Don't sing it...bring it."

It is announced that WCW has been in negotiations with Sting and "Macho Man" Randy Savage all day, and next week on Nitro, Sting will team with Savage against "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan ans Scott Hall. Before the announcement is made, Lee Marshall is hit in the head with a football thrown from the crowd.

Buff Bagwell shows up, pretending to be Michael Buffer as he introduces Scott Steiner before making of Marty Jannetty. Scott Steiner then says it is great to be part of one of the best organizations in sports today, and says 24 hours can make quite a difference. On Sunday, he was eating breakfast with Rick Steiner, Lex Luger and Sting, and on Monday, Luger has the audacity to challenge him to a fight. If Luger wants to challenge him to a fight, he is there, and he beat him up and left him laying face down. He then says Lex Luger is an educated man who went to college, but did not go to Michigan University because Michigan did not want him. Instead, Michigan wanted him, because he is a better athlete. Scott Steiner then recites Michigan University's fight son, and says the song is about him and about Michigan, and while Luger may have a million dollar body, he will take that body and force him to suck his meals through a two cent straw if he challenges him again.

Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after Vincent tries to get involved. As Neidhart gets Vincent in a rear chinlock, he is attacked from behind by Brian Adams. During the match, Scott Steiner shows up on commentary, takes Lee Marshall's headset and tells both Tony Schiavone and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan that if they try to turn his brother Rick against him, he will smack them. He then tries to convince Rick Steiner to join the nWo, saying that he made a career decision to join the nWo and that the longer he waits, the window of opportunity for him to join will get smaller and smaller. He tells Rick that he wants an answer by tonight, and that the door is still open but is closing fast. After the match, Hennig, Vincent and Brian Adams gang up on Neidhart until The British Bulldog runs into the ring, clearing the nWo out.

We see a vignette where Kevin Nash brags about dropping The Giant on his head during Souled Out, demanding he be called "Big Sexy, the Giant Killer."

Before the next match, Raven says that Kevin Nash "is not popular with the suits at the corporate Superstation," and that it is no secret that he himself is considered a misfit and a freak. He says the powers that be have decided to have Kevin Nash wrestle him tonight, as they figured that someone was bound to get hurt and be put out of the sport. Raven then says he will wrestle Nash tonight, but it will be under Raven's Rules, and tonight, it will be battle royal style.

Raven's Flock beats Kevin Nash by disqualification in a Raven's Rules battle royal after Nash hits Lodi with a Jackknife Power Bomb. As predictably as ever, WCW head of security Doug Dellinger, WCW security and local law enforcement handcuff Nash and escort him out of the building as he speaks into the camera and tells The Giant that he everything is his fault and that The Giant does not want any of him.

Diamond Dallas Page vs. "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship ends in a no-contest after Raven gets in the ring and attacks both men. Near the end of the match, the show cuts to the hard cam and zooms out due to Diamond Dallas Page's face being bloodied. After the match, Benoit tackles Raven out of the ring and fights him, and Diamond Dallas Page slingshots over the top rope to go after Raven to end the show.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for January 29, 1998

After only three episodes, the fourth episode debuts a new look with a lot of metallic-looking elements. Ventilation shafts can be seen in the background as part of the stage, and various rooftop elements can be seen at the side of the stage during the show. The detailed apron that is painted to look like a wall made of stones is gone; replaced by a simple gray apron and mat with the Thunder logo on the sides.

Diamond Dallas Page retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Sick Boy after lifting Sick Boy up into the air before hitting the Diamond Cutter. Kidman and Lodi of Raven's Flock are seen in the front row during the match (it is revealed later in the show that Scotty Riggs and Van Hammer are there with them). After the match, Kidman and Lodi consider jumping the guardrail, but Scotty Riggs hits Lodi to make him reconsider, allowing Diamond Dallas Page to leave through the crowd in celebration.

Mike Tenay interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon. Dillon says it would be an understatement to say he was shocked and appalled by the blatant disregard for rules and authority displayed by Kevin Nash on Nitro. He says the Jackknife Power Bomb was banned for good reason and that the Executive Committee means business, and announces that WCW has levied a fine of $50,000 against Nash. He hopes that this is the first and last time anyone is fined for performing the move, and also hopes it will wipe the smirk off Nash's face. Dillon also admits he has suspicions as to who will be paying the fine, and says that people who run in Hollywood circle know that there are budgets to everything. He says that if enough fines are levied, then the Executive Committee will get the people's attention and prove that they mean business.

Meng beats "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan by pinfall with the Tongan Death Grip. At one point in the match, Duggan yanks the coat off of Jimmy Hart and drapes it over Meng's face before punching him a few times. Later on in the match, Jimmy Hart grabs Duggan's 2x4 and holds on to the referee to try to toss it to Meng. Duggan grabs the 2x4 instead and breaks it over Meng's back, but it only brings Meng to his knees and does not knock him out. After Duggan punches Jimmy Hart off the apron, Meng locks Duggan in the Tongan Death Grip as soon as he turns around. Meng pins Duggan to the mat with the hold to get the win.

Raven is in the ring. He says people fear most what they do not understand or cannot comprehend. He then announces that the next match will be anything goes.

Rock 'n roll music legend Jerry Lee Lewis is seen in the crowd sitting behind Kidman, Raven and Scotty Riggs of Raven's Flock.

Bill Goldberg beats Yuji Nagata. After the match, Sonny Onoo tries to attack Goldberg from behind, but Goldberg turns around and scares him off.

Scott Hall shows up. After taking a survey to see who came for WCW and for The New World Order, he reminds everyone that he won World War 3 in the midst of the drama between "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Sting, and verbally blasts "Rowdy" Roddy Piper for "coming down in a dress" and telling him his dream of winning the WCW World Heavyweight Championship won't come true. He then says where he comes from, it is not how many times one goes down but how many times one gets back up, and that he his coming for Piper and WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon. He then introduces "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, who makes his way to the ring. Dusty tells the crowd to pay attention, and says that in 1981, corporate America tried to tear down what he helped build: the tradition of professional wrestling. He says that he talked to the corporate powers that be, and he told them to take their suits and shove them. Afterwards, he was moved down to color commentary, and after carrying Tony Schiavone for so many years, he got sick and tired of it. It was then that Eric Bischoff, whom he calls "a man of vision," eased in, and The New World Order became the soundboard for professional wrestling as we know it. He says that the nWo is why people watch television, go to the arenas, and help everybody make a living in WCW. Scott Hall then says that when you are nWo, you are nWo for life, and Dusty tells "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko and "the marks on the Internet" that there will be no comeback, and tells WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon not to tell the nWo what to do, as they will do what they want when they want to, how they want to and to whomever they want to do it. He also says that if someone much smaller than Kevin Nash cannot defend themselves against Nash, then they should not get in the ring with Nash. He also tells Syxx, who is still currently out with an injury, that he is just "too sweet."

It is announced that WCW Nitro is now available on Sony PlayStation wherever video games are sold.

Scott Hall beats Disco Inferno. During the match, Scott Hall mocks The Giant and his neck injury. Disco Inferno takes advantage of the situation by wriggling out of the Outsider's Edge and hitting the Chart Buster, but "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes pulls one of Hall's legs to the underside of the bottom rope to break up the pinfall attempt. Disco never regains any momentum, and Scott Hall hits the Outsider's Edge to get the win.

Mike Tenay interviews suspended WCW referee Nick Patrick. He says it has been a month since he has been suspended without pay following the outcome of Sting vs. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade, and asks the crowd if they have ever seen two officials officiate in exactly the same way, and says that all of the WCW referees have their own unique cadence. He then says the World title match at Starrcade match was more of a brawl than a wrestling match, and says there was only one pinfall attempt in the match which he counted with his own cadence before Bret "The Hit Man" Hart took it upon himself to knock him out and reverse the decision himself despite not being a licensed official. He then says it is an outrage to him and the fans that WCW agreed with Bret's reverse decision and fired him afterwards, as it desecrates the World title. He then says that according to his lawyers, the fans will be seeing him again on WCW programming, and that he stands by his reputation, his decision and his count until his dying day. As for the rematch, he wants to be the man who referees it so he can prove he is "for real," not "4 lyfe."

Booker T retains the WCW World Television Championship against Saturn. During the match, members of Raven's Flock go after Booker T one by one, but Booker T fights them off. Rick Martel suddenly shows up and fights one of them off. When Saturn goes after Martel, Booker T goes for a roll-up from behind and gets the win. After the match, Saturn pushes Booker T into Martel, and Martel gets in the ring thinking Booker T hit him on purpose. This leads to an short argument between Booker T and Martel.

"The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko beat Chris Jericho and Eddie Guerrero with a Crippler Crossface to Jericho. After the match, Mike Tenay interviews Benoit in the ring. He says his chapter with Raven has come to an end after their battle at Souled Out, and that he needs no belt of gold around his waist to prove how good he is, and all he needs is an opponent and the fans to tune in for the match. Due to his political incorrectness and his affiliations, however, he does not get all the opportunities, but he will continue inflicting pain and punishment and crippling opponents until someone takes notice. Suddenly, Diamond Dallas Page shows up and says he is taking notice. He says Benoit has never gotten a shot at the title or been in the main event is because "the so-called promoters" never saw Benoit as a main eventer. He says the promoters saw him the same way, but they were wrong about him and they are wrong about Benoit, because he can tell how badly he wants it by the look in his eyes, which reminds DDP of himself. He then says the only difference between himself and Benoit is that what Benoit wants, he has, and since the promoters won't make the match, he wants to see how the people react. He asks the crowd if there is anybody who wants to see them get it on, and he is met with positive fan reaction. DDP then says the people have spoken, and Benoit tells DDP to name the time and place, and if DDP wants to give him a shot, he will take it. DDP says it will be in Beaumont, Texas next week on Thunder. Benoit accepts.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Kevin Nash and Konnan by disqualification. During the match, Bugg Bagwell shows up and jerks Scott Steiner off the apron, distracting him with a pose-off in the aisle. As referee Charles Robinson is arguing with Ted DiBiase on the apron, Kevin Nash tries to hit Rick Steiner in the back with one of the tag team titles, but he is caught by Charles Robinson, who calls for the bell. After the match, Nash and Robinson argue, and when Robinson turns his back, Nash hits him with a Jackknife Power Bomb. Members of the local police show up, and Nash allows himself to be handcuffed and arrested when he gets out of the ring. Nash then says to the camera "Make sure Jack Ruby ain't sittin' in the back, alright?!" Konnan and Buff Bagwell asks if Nash will be bailed out, and Nash tells them to call "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan as Nash is led out to the back to end the show.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for January 15, 1998

Tony Schiavone interviews The Giant in the ring to start tonight's show. The Giant says this is a while coming, but if it took a $1.5 million performance bond, he wants Kevin Nash to show up as he has a choke slam ready for him. Suddenly, Lodi shows up carrying a sign saying "Nash Rulz Giant Drools." The Giant grabs the sign and rips it up, and Lodi confronts him about it. This proves a mistake, as he gets choke slammed. Sick Boy goes after The Giant and gets choke slammed, and Van Hammer, Scotty Riggs and Kidman fare no better. Perry Saturn gets The Giant in a sleeper hold only to be backed into the corner, and when Kidman goes for a high-flying cross body, The Giant tosses Kidman into the front row where Van Hammer is there to catch him. Suddenly, Kevin Nash gets in the ring and gets in The Giant's face, and The Giant does what he can to avoid hitting him. Nash tosses coffee into The Giant's face, but The Giant does not give in even as Nash follows him to the back, goading The Giant into hitting him all the while.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) and Ray Traylor beat Black Cat, Michiyoshi Ohara and Gedo. During the match, it is announced that Diamond Dallas Page was mugged during an attack in the parking lot after this week's Nitro and that DDP's right knee is injured to the point that he may not be able to wrestle tonight. It is also announced that WCW Executive Committee Chairman is currently in a heated discussion with DDP backstage. Near the end of the match, Scott Steiner grabs Mickey Jack by the neck at the corner, refuses to tag Rick Steiner in before getting the victory himself, much to Rick's disappointment. After the match, Scott Steiner shoves Mickey Jay with one hand.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner)! Diamond Dallas Page! The returning Marty Jannetty! Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock)!

It is announced that World Championship Wrestling is currently considering forming a martial arts division contested under professional wrestling rules, and that the next match is a test match for that purpose. (The martial arts division never makes it past the test stage.)

Ernest Miller beats Yuji Nagata after Nagata argues with the referee. After the match, Sonny Onoo tries to kick at Miller, but his kicks have no effect and Miller kicks Onoo out of the ring.

Tony Schiavone interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon, who says that he has conflicting reports about what recently happened to Diamond Dallas Page. Microphone problems plague the rest of the interview until DDP arrives, and tells Dillon that when he says he will do something, he goes out there and does it. Dillon says there will be liability issues if he goes along with the match, but DDP says he does not do lawsuit and tells him to get some release papers ready for tonight's match so he can get WCW off the hook.

Before the next match, Scott Hall interviews his opponent, Louie Spicolli. When asked who he wants to see by Hall, Spicolli says he is here to see the nWo and that Scott Hall is his hero. Suddenly, "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko shows up and tries to tell Spicolli that Hall will throw him in the garbage and that Hall is buttering up to him at the moment that he can achieve fortune and glory because Hall is afraid of him. Hall tells Zbyszko to bring it, not sing it, if he wants him so badly. Zbyszko gets in the ring and takes his suit jacket off, but Spicolli attacks Zbyszko from behind so he and Hall can gang up on him. This doesn't last as Zbyszko is able to duck under hall and hit a stunned Spicolli with a spinning back kick, sending Spicolli out of the ring along with Hall.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says that during the past week, everyone has been wondering what is going on between him and Rey Mysterio Jr. He says that Rey talked under his breath and made derogatory statements about him and his family that only he could hear. Jericho says that he had to put Rey in his place like the role model and paragon of virtue that he is, and that it is all water under the bridge. He hopes that Rey wins the WCW Cruiserweight Championship back, and says this will never happen again.

Chris Jericho beats Eddie Guerrero after reversing a hurricanrana off the top rope into the Lion Tamer.

Disco Inferno shows up before the next match, which is supposed to be Bill Goldberg vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr., and dances in the ring. Chavo takes exception to this, and Disco tells Chavo that nobody came to see him wrestle; instead, everyone came to see him dance. Chavo tells Disco he can't dance and that this is not even his match, and asks what kind of name "Disco Inferno" is before telling Disco that he, the fans, everyone in the back and even Disco himself knows that Disco is a joke. He tells Disco to go back to the Copacabana, but Disco says he's not going anywhere. Chavo says he is leaving one way or another, and Disco concedes just to sneak attack Chavo from behind. Suddenly, Bill Goldberg shows up, and keeps Disco from leaving the ring. Disco tries to run at Goldberg, but Goldberg tackles him before hitting him with the Jackhammer.

Mike Tenay apologizes on behalf of WCW for the video problems taking place tonight, and announces that seemingly appropriately-timed thunderstorms in the Lakeland, Florida area are to blame.

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff show up. Bischoff says he can think of "1.5 million reasons" he and the nWo will always be in Hogan's debt, and he thanks Hogan for being there for him and the nWo. Hogan says when it comes to $1.5 million, that is no big deal. What is a big deal to him, however, is "the lies, the deception and the out-and-out untruths of the unraveling of the nWo." Hogan has asked himself why WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon has to lie, and realized it is because he is the real champion. When he went to court, the judge told him and Bischoff that they are right and that they beat Sting for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Starrcade. He gives J.J. Dillon two choices: give the WCW World Heavyweight Championship back to him, or run for his life and hand it to him next week, as he will take the title back one way or another. Bischoff then says that he agrees with Sting saying Dillon has no guts, and if Dillon does have any guts that they don't know about, he will hand the belt back to Hogan. Hogan then says he is the focus of professional wrestling, the man who made wrestling and the man who got everyone to come to tonight's show, then says Bischoff is the nWo's boss, the nWo is intact, and that Sting will never show his face again when Hogan takes back the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Juventud Guerrera to become the WCW Cruiserweight Champion for the third time after Juventud Guerrera is forced to land on his feet during the top rope 450 splash and Rey counters with a hurricanrana into a pinfall after he dodges the 450 splash.

Before the next match, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan tries to play peacemaker between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Kevin Nash. When Lex Luger shows up, Diamond Dallas Page is not far behind, and when Luger notices DDP, he asks DDP to let him take on Savage and Nash alone. DDP tries to get on the apron, but Hogan yanks DDP off the apron and attacks him with his crutch.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage and Kevin Nash vs. Lex Luger and Diamond Dallas Page ends in a no-contest. As Hogan and Savage argue, The Giant shows up and gets in the ring, and Savage pushes Hogan into The Giant, who choke slams Hogan as soon as he turns around. The Giant notices Nash and threatens to choke slam him, then The New World Order show up and attack The Giant, ending the match. Afterwards, Sting shows up and cleans house along with The Giant and Lex Luger to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 25, 1997

The show starts with a recap of what happened at the end of Clash of the Champions XXXV.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Eric Bischoff, who says J.J. Dillon should have learned from him that sometimes, you don't want to give ultimatums, as they can sometimes bite you back in the ass. He tells Dillon to "bite me" and that WCW's ship will have to fly without Sting. It is announced that Dillon is live via telephone , and Dillon tells Bischoff that he may be jumping to conclusions as the fans have told WCW that Sting wants "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and that WCW has listened. Dillon officially promises that between now and the end of the year, there will be a match between Sting and Hogan. Bischoff is livid about this decision, saying this match will never happen because he says so and that Hogan has title defenses all over the world and movies and appearances to make. He calls Dillon "a fat tub of goo" and says that if Hogan wanted Sting, he'd take him in an instant. As he speaks, Sting shows up, gets in the ring, stands behind Bischoff and grabs him by the jacket collar. Bischoff begs for mercy, then Sting pulls out a "Hollywood Rules" shirt before covering Bischoff's head with it and pushing him to the mat with his foot. He pulls the shirt off, then stuffs it in Bischoff's mouth, much to the delight of the crowd. For the first time in many months, Sting smiles, then surveys and points the crowd while circling the ring.

We get another message from Raven: "We all commit certain acts in our lives of an unsavory nature. Some bad, some worse, some unspeakable. Sometimes we suffer in silence, sometimes we seek redemption. He's got what he wanted, but in attaining salvation, there's a price that must be paid. One must give up a bit of one's self. The road where - the end of the road, as it is - may not be quite what you expect. The glowing light at the end of the tunnel may not be the beacon of righteousness you envisioned. It may be some horribly disfigured fun house reflection of your own inner dreams. Quoth the Raven, nevermore."

We see a performance from The Nitro Girls.

Psychosis and La Parka beat Glacier and "The Cat" Ernest Miller after La Parka smacks Glacier in the back with a wooden chair while the referee is preoccupied with Miller. All of a sudden, Ultimo Dragon shows up and confronts Sonny Onoo. Silver King shows up and gets jumped by Dragon, and turns around when Onoo is about to attack him. Psychosis and La Parka then go on the attack, Onoo lands a karate kick, then Glacier and Miller fight with the luchadors after Silver King attacks Ultimo Dragon some more.

Despite feeling the effects of the post-match attack of the last match, Ultimo Dragon beats Silver King with the Dragon Sleeper.

Immediately after the previous match, Scott Hall, "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth show up. Hall says everyone know by now that you can't have a party unless you invite the nWo. The three of them were talking in the back and know that they're the reason everyone is here tonight and everyone else is watching at home, as everyone wants to be a part of the nWo. Hall takes the opportunity to welcome their newest member, who helped them at Clash of the Champions: Diamond Dallas Page. Page doesn't show up, and Savage says he voted "no" for DDP, but the nWo didn't have a weak link, so it's cool that he's in. Savage says that Luger went to the very top, but ever since Road Wild, he's been in a slump. He then calls Luger out, and says he will punk him out. Hall tells Luger he doesn't have a friend in WCW or in Columbia, South Carolina.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. Page says that to join the nWo with "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Scott Hall is ridiculous, and equally ludicrous is the belief that he hit Lex Luger with the Diamond Cutter on purpose. He says everyone knows what he has went through to get to where he is, and that this is why Luger was his tag team partner. After the match, he could not get a hold of Luger, and he still has yet to do so as Luger isn't even in the building as of ten minutes ago. Page says Luger is a stand up guy, and if he shows up, they can straighten everything out and settle this like men, and not like low-lifes like Savage and Hall.

Jeff Jarrett beats "The Crippler" Chris Benoit after he reverses a successful superplex from Benoit into an inside cradle. During the match, it is announced that Lex Luger is in the building, but did not show up when Diamond Dallas Page called him out.

We see another performance from The Nitro Girls.

The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) beat Mortis and Wrath after Meng pins Mortis with the Tongan Death Grip. Wrath and Meng fight after the match, and pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael). Flair brings out Curt Hennig to see once and for all if he is a part of the Four Horsemen. Hennig shows up, and Flair demands an answer. Hennig says he'd love to give that answer, but he's not ready to give that answer tonight. Flair then tells Hennig that, in anticipation of that answer, he has brought someone to town tonight to talk to him: "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, who hasn't been seen in the last couple of months. He says the thunderous applause from the crowd makes what he has to say mean that much more, as four months ago, four vertebrae were removed from his spine, leaving his left hand too weak to hold a glass or button a button, and the other day at the gym, someone the same size as Okerlund slapped him on the back asking where he had been, causing his left side to go completely numb. He now knows that he puts himself in a "suicide situation" if he tries to wrestle again, and that he can potentially risk the careers of Benoit and Mongo. Anderson says he would rather walk away than put his life in danger, and thanks the fans for all their support over the years, saying he gave it all he had in the ring and that he has has nothing left to give now. He asks to be remembered as he was, not as he is, and challenges Hennig to stand beside his best friend Ric Flair and lead The Four Horsemen back to the prosperity they once had. He gives Hennig not a spot in the Horsemen, but his spot as the enforcer of The Four Horsemen. Hennig says it would be a privilege, and Hennig shakes hands with the Horsemen as he is confirmed as a member of the group.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Eddie Guerrero.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Rey Mysterio, Jr., who hobbles his way down the ramp. Rey wishes he was out here wrestling, but his knee is really bad. He made a mistake taking on Konnan at Road Wild, as Konnan wants to end his career. Tomorrow, he will see Jim Andrews in Birmingham, Alabama, and get news on what's wrong with his knee. Konnan shows upand says Rey only talks about what he's going to do and tells him to get himself a Happy Meal and call it a night before he breaks his other leg. Konnan kicks at Rey's hurt leg, and threatens to rip his mask off. The Giant approaches Konnan from behind, and when Konnan runs into him, he flees. Rey tells Konnan that WCW is his real family.

Eric Bischoff shows up, this time sneaking up from behind on the commentary team. He kicks Mike Tenay and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan and guests on commentary, reminding "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko not to get within 50 feet of him. He guests on commentary for the rest of the night.

Chris Jericho beats Yuji Nagata with the elevated Boston Crab, now known as the Lion Tamer.

Lee Marshall calls from Pensacola, Florida - the site of next week's Nitro - for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Miss Jacqueline and Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray). Jacqueline is confirmed as the third member of Harlem Heat who will watch their backs from now on. As for who is #1 contenders for the tag team titles, Booker T gives The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) their just due, but he and Stevie Ray are seven-time tag champs, and he asks them to step to the side and do what they have to do to The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) as they are three the hard way. As Stevie Ray says that they never had to go to Japan or the WWF (up north, as he calls it) to get a reputation, The Steiners and Ted DiBiase show up. Scott Steiner say The Outsiders consider themselves the two luckiest guys on the face of the earth, and tells Harlem Heat they got the job done. Vicious and Delicious (Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell) and Vincent show up. Buff Bagwell tells The Steiners that The Outsiders beat them in the middle, tells Harlem Heat they can't beat the Steiners, and tells both teams they can't beat him and Norton. This leads to The Steiners and Harlem Heat fighting Vicious and Delicious and Vincent on the entrance ramp.

Dean Malenko beats Alex Wright by disqualification after Jeff Jarrett and Eddie Guerrero attack Malenko. Jarrett locks the Figure Four Leg Lock on Malenko while Wright and Guerrero attack Malenko from the top rope.

Lex Luger vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage ends with Luger pushing Savage into Scott Hall when he tries to interfere. After this, Diamond Dallas Page shows up. He tries to help Luger up, but he gets put in the Torture Rack to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for April 21, 1997

We see footage of James J. Dillon showing up at the arena earlier in the day to start tonight's show.

Dean Malenko retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Yuji Nagata with the Texas Cloverleaf. During the match, Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers is seen in the front row.

Glacier quickly beats Ciclope after the crowd chants "Glacier sucks!" After the match, the masked man from Uncensored shows up (who used to be Adam Bomb in the World Wrestling Federation) and gets in the ring, but it is a set up, as Glacier is attacked from behind by Mortis. James Vandenburg shows up as the masked man, now unmasked, has his way with Glacier as Mortis and Vandenberg take Glacier's mask. Both Mortis and the mystery man then gouge Glacier's eyes, even going so far as sticking one of the spikes in Glacier's helmet into one of them.

It is announced that James J. Dillon has been named Chairman of the WCW Executive Committee by Turner Sports.

Nick Patrick shows up in blue jeans and a sea-green polo shirt with purple trim, still petitioning to get his referee job back in WCW. Nick Patrick apologizes to any WCW employees who were hurt by his actions, but there are a few people that he will not apologize to, now or ever. When he first joined the New World Order, he thought it would be the perfect opportunity for "the little guy" to speak out when they could not, but now it seems to him that the people he wanted to speak out against are the same people the nWo are catering to, like "Macho Man" Randy Savage, whom he knew all about when Savage first came to WCW, saying that Savage has proved him correct recently. He says that the nWo caters to men like Eric Bischoff who are mad with power and letting everyone know he's the boss while forcing people to his will, like Randy Anderson, whom Patrick admits he never wanted to fight. He also refers back to when he fined Savage the biggest fine in WCW, saying that the fine was revoked and that he was told to keep his mouth shut. Patrick then proclaims that if you want someone to stand up for WCW, simply take a look at what he has done: he stayed when people walked out, he still worked when Savage injured his neck, and he took choke slams and Jackknife Power Bombs from The Giant and Kevin Nash, respectively. Patrick says he's still here, and he is a man who stands for what he believes in, and will do so if WCW gives him that opportunity again. "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko argues with Patrick, unwilling to trust him.

The Ultimate Dragon retains the WCW World Television Championship against Bobby Eaton with the Dragon Sleeper. Referee Mickie Jay takes a picture of both The Ultimate Dragon and Sonny Onoo at Onoo's behest.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Lord" Steven Regal, who gets a shot at the Television title at Slamboree. He berates America for "not being able to beat the Japanese," and plans to take back what is rightfully "ours," as he considers himself the only person keeping WCW together at the moment. He then calls the American fans "xenophobic little toads." He tells The Ultimate Dragon he will bend him in too.

Next Monday, Nitro will be live for one hour from 7 PM to 8 PM Eastern due to the NBA Playoffs.

Meng (accompanied by a more conservatively-dressed Jimmy Hart) beats Chris Jericho by submission with a nerve hold. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jimmy Hart after the match, and Hart says that he and The Taskmaster will sent a message to "The Crippler" Chris Benoit. The Taskmaster shows upw ith Jacqueline, saying that Meng, despite making a few mistakes in wrestling in the ring, is the baddest apple in the business. He dares anyone to step up, saying that when ten men went into a dojo with Meng, two came out. As for Benoit's message to him concerning karma, he had the same kind of karma at his age, and it was all bad. He says he let his son and Woman go. He then tells Meng that he has to feel the power. Meng is about to do something when Jacqueline tells Meng not to do it. Meng tells Jacqueline - in English - that if it wasn't for her and The Taskmaster, he could take the both of them down. Meng and Hart leave first, followed by The Taskmaster and Jacqueline.

We see a video package of "The Crippler" Chris Benoit.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock)! The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner)! Lex Luger! Mortis and James Vandenberg!

Before the next match, Hugh Morrus and Konnan of the Dungeon of Doom fight The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) before they can make their way to the ring. Security have to get The Steiners out of the area. Long-time friends and family welcome Scott at the entrance ramp.

Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) vs. The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) ends with Hugh Morrus and Konnan of the Dungeon of Doom. Both teams in the match end up teaming together against Konnan and Morrus as they take the brawl to the back.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews James J. Dillon. Dillon says that today has been a very busy day, and that all aspects of the company will be re-evaluated. Regarding Nick Patrick's petition for reinstatement into WCW, it is being taken under advisement. He then says that his lawyers have looked into the contract of Eric Bischoff, and that there is both good news and bad news. The good news is that Eric Bischoff has absolutely no authority with World Championship Wrestling. The bad news is that Eric Bischoff has an iron-clad contract and that there is no buy-out clause, and unless he breaches his contract, it is valid. As Dillon announces that Bischoff will retain his title as Executive Vice President and continue to get a paycheck, Bischoff shows up. Dillon says that he has looked further into the New World Order, and that some of the contracts Bischoff finalized before his suspension are all valid, and that the nWo, by and large, is here to stay, with two exceptions. Big Bubba and Michael Wallstreet, unlike Buff Bagwell and Scott Norton, did not have "windows of opportunity" to join the nWo and simply jumped ship, and are therefore under contract to WCW and must return there. Eric Bischoff takes the microphone and simply tells Dillon "Bite me." Bischoff says Dillon wanted to fire him, but he couldn't. Dillon tells Bischoff that if he has something to say, say it. Bischoff tells Dillon he can't stop him from doing whatever he wants with the nWo, and that he made WCW the #1 wrestling company on the planet. When he asks if Dillon has a problem with him making the nWo bigger than WCW, Dillon says yes, and Bischoff tells him "Bite me" again. Bischoff then asks Dillon if he thinks that he can fill his shoes, Dillon says he is the first person to admit that he is the most powerful and influential person for the last two years and has accomplished a lot, considering that the standard of excellence was set up in Stamford, Connecticut (a reference to WWF). However, Bischoff has forgotten that his effort was that of a team, and that he betrayed the trust of the team. Bischoff says "Bite me" yet again. Dillon says that Bischoff has tried to single-handedly destroy the legacy of WCW as he leaves, and if Bischoff thinks he can fill his shoes, he's wrong, because what is in Bischoff's shoes stinks, and no Odor Eaters in the world can take that smell away. Dillon then states that he has two shoes of his own, that he is man enough to determine what steps they take and that he will take accountability for those steps, unlike Bischoff.

Jeff Jarrett beats Scotty Riggs with the Figure Four Leg Lock. During the match, Reggie White of the Green Bay Packers is seen in the crowd again, and when Steve "Mongo" McMichael walks down the entrance ramp with the steel Halliburton briefcase, Reggie jumps the barricade and snatches it from him, forcing Mongo to retreat.

James J. Dillon shows up during Syxx vs. Rey Mysterio Jr. after Kevin Nash hits Rey with a big boot to the back of the head followed by a Jackknife Power Bomb. He brings out medical help for Rey and sends security officers to keep Syxx from attacking Rey, who has to be taken out of the arena on a stretcher. Dillon tells Nash and Syxx that their behavior will no longer be tolerated, but Nash and Syxx don't care.

We see a video package of Lex Luger.

Lee Marshall calls form Norfolk, Virginia - the site of next week's Nitro - for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

In another announcement paid for by the New World Order, we see "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan on the set of McCinsey's Island starting Hogan, Robert Vaughn and Grace Jones. Hulk announces that Grace Jones is a supporter of the New World Order. He says the WCW is full of cowards, saying Sting is hiding, Lex Luger doesn't want a part of him, and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper doesn't want a part of him either. He says that the movie is nWo-produced and directed. Robert Vaughn is seen wearing an nWo T-shirt, as well as the crew.

The New World Order show up. Syxx says that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper were around last week, talking about how the new generation guys don't have any respect. Syxx says he knows a bit about the history of this sport, and asks what kind of respect it is for Flair to rip off Buddy Roger's gimmick, nickname and finisher from him. He says he has no respect for Piper either, and that he isn't afraid of either of them. Kevin Nash tells Piper that he doesn't think too much about Piper and Flair's "laying down the asphalt and cutting down trees," and that when he came into the business, there was nothing but potholes in the road, saying Flair and Piper strip-mined the business and left nothing for the young guys. He says that WCW was nothing but a bunch of guys pushing their sons, and if you didn't have a dad in the business, you couldn't even get an opportunity. He says Scott Hall was here for a year, proved himself, and got a pay cut, so he left for New York and Nash followed suit. There, he and Hall found punishment trying to dig the business out of the funk the older guys left it in. Where he comes from - the south side of Detroit - you have to beat respect out of him. He says it's the new generation's turn to shine, and while the older guys in WCW live it up, the nWo says they have no problem flying commercial and going to the arena three in a rented Ford Taurus while trying to patch the potholes that the older guys left behind.

Diamond Dallas Page quickly beats Psychosis with a Diamond Cutter from the top rope. "Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth are sighted in the crowd after the match, and Savage asks Page if he can feel the madness all around him, and that if he can't, ask Kimberly, because she felt it. Page tells Savage he isn't going to bait him again, and that if he wants a piece of him, then he and Elizabeth should hobble into the ring right now. Savage wants to go, but he is surrounded by security.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Carolina Panthers player Kevin Greene. Flair says there's nothing to talk about, and dares the New World Order to get into the ring and "pave the highway." The New World Order shows up, but then bring out...Scott Hall, who hasn't been seen in weeks. Despite being outnumbered, Flair, Piper and Greene somehow fight The New World Order, holding the members who don't get into the ring off until the closing seconds of the show.
