Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for November 1, 1998

It is announced that tomorrow night on Raw, WWF owner Vince McMahon will make an announcement concerning his future in the WWF, which will have a profound impact on the wrestling industry. As a result, tonight's episode is dedicated to Vince McMahon. Short clips of Vince McMahon are played during breaks throughout the show.

The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat L.O.D. 2000 (Road Warrior Animal and Darren "Puke" Drozdov) soon after Road Warrior Hawk and Drozdov argue outside of the ring, which causes Animal to go it alone without any success. After the match, Animal argues with both Droz and Hawk, then walks out. Droz follows him shortly afterward. Hawk grabs the microphone and gives Droz 24 hours to rest before he kicks "the stinkin' puke" out of Drozdov tomorrow night on Raw.

Backstage, Shane McMahon congratulates The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) on a well-earned victory.

We see a vignette of Steven Regal - a real man's man - building the foundation for a house. After this, Steven Regal finally shows up in a WWF ring, and says he will give the opportunity to any WWF Superstar who thinks he is a real man's man the chance to knock the hard hat off his head. If they can, they are a good man. That challenge is answered by Bradshaw.

Steven Regal beats Bradshaw. Afterwards, The Jackal shows up and meets with Bradshaw, and talks with him on the way to the back.

Shane McMahon is seen with X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) backstage.

The Brood (Gangrel, Edge, Christian) beat The Oddities (Golga, Kurrgan, Giant Silva). During the match, Kane is supposedly seen in the rafters by Michael Cole. During the match, Edge tries to run off with Golga's Cartman doll, causing the rest of the Oddities to go after Edge and allowing Gangrel and Christian to hit a double team attack on Golga as the referee is distracted.

Shane McMahon is seen with some backstage workers.

Kevin Kelly interviews "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman in the locker room. Blackman tells Owen Hart that he isn't falling for his Blue Blazer get-up, as he can recognize the stench he leaves in the ring. He tells D'Lo Brown to lace up his chest protector tightly, as he will find out what it is like to be hit by a lethal weapon when he puts his foot right through it.

Dan "The Beast" Severn, still in a neck brace, is seen live via satellite from his home in Coldwater, Michigan.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry is seen carrying a sign saying "I Miss You Chyna" at ringside before the next match.

"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beats D'Lo Brown. During the match, The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) show up and distract "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry, pushing him and arguing with him. As the referee is distracted, Thrasher pushes D'Lo Brown off the top rope, allowing Blackman to stack D'Lo up to get the win. After the match, D'Lo and Mark Henry brawl with The Headbangers at ringside, and referees and officials have to run out to pull them apart.

Michael Cole and Jim Cornette try to interview Dan "The Beast" Severn live via satellite from his home in Coldwater, Michigan, but Severn cannot hear them.

Before the next match, Val Venis tells Debra and the people of Texas to never fear, for even if Randy Johnson goes elsewhere as a free agent, they have his personal guarantee that "The Big Valbowski" will bring back "The Big Unit" to the Lone Star State.

Jeff Jarrett beats Val Venis. During the match, it is announced that X-Pac and Goldust have been added to the Deadly Games Tournament for the WWF Championship at Survivor Series. Shortly after this, Terri Runnels shows up and argues with Debra at ringside. Later on, Debra checks on Val Venis, which starts another argument between her and Terri. This distracts Val Venis, and Jeff Jarrett hits the trademark reverse leg sweep for the win. After the match, Terri apologizes to Venis, then tells everyone that they are pregnant and that she and Venis are having a baby. Venis takes the microphone and tells her she is pregnant, not the both of them, and that this is her problem, not theirs. She then tells Terri "I'm outta here!" Terri is distraught.

Michael Cole and Jim Cornette try to interview Dan "The Beast" Severn live via satellite from his home in Coldwater, Michigan again, this time successfully. Severn says he has been better, and that he suffered spinal shock, spinal compression and temporary paralysis. He still has a tingling sensation in both of his hands and his legs, but through therapy, he hopes to get better. As for returning to the WWF, he cannot think about that right now, as he has too many things to think about and that one of them is Owen Hart. He plans on being at Raw tomorrow night, and he invites Owen to be there, man-to-man, as he has a few things to get off his chest before he can go on with his life and he hopes that Owen respects that and shows up.

Shane McMahon is interviewed in the ring by Kevin Kelly. He cannot reveal the announcement that his father, WWF owner Vince McMahon, will make tomorrow night as he has no idea what he is going to say or do next. He does know that what happened last Monday night changed the World Wrestling Federation and the McMahon family forever. He says that something - or someone - has got to give, and he knows Vince is watching and that it pained him to see what he said to him as well as Vince's reaction to what he said. He says that the fans were right about "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and that Vince was wrong, and while he respects Vince's accomplishments, he has a different vision as the WWF is bigger than one's one ego. He says there will be no stooges, no swerving, no lying and no screwing. He has no idea what Vince will say tomorrow night, but whatever it is, he is sorry and it will regrettably be too little, too late.

It is announced before the next match that Triple H has been added to the Deadly Games Tournament for the WWF Championship at Survivor Series. Also, The Undertaker is seen side-by-side with Paul Bearer for the first time in two years. The Godfather then gives The Undertaker - whom he has known for a long time and knows he likes hos - the choice to fight and get his ass kicked or a pick of any of the three hos with him. It does not take long for The Undertaker to pick the fight. The Undertaker vs. The Godfather before it can begin after The Undertaker punches out the referee. Other referees run into the ring only to get laid out, then Kane shows up. This time, Kane is seen in the rafters as the show ends.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 29, 1998

RAW

WWF owner shows up with Gerald Brisco and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter, as Pat Patterson is not here due to a death in the family. We see a red carpet in the ring and a glass case with the WWF Championship inside. McMahon says today is a glorious day, as there is a new WWF Champion. McMahon announces this is the dawning of a new era of popularity and prosperity, of respect and dignity and even civility, as if a breath of fresh air has cleansed the WWF of the foul mouth, the unseemly hand gesture and the beer swilling. He says this champion who is a man among men whose lips have never so much as tasted an alcoholic beverage or uttered an obscenity in his entire life, and his only gesture to salute the flag of the United States of Championship. He says this champion is a role model and a champion for the new millennium, and that this champion is Kane. Kane shows up with Paul Bearer. McMahon then asks Bearer to put into words what he is feeling at this moment. Bearer announces the WWF is indeed a place where dreams can come true, and there is no way anyone can understand what this momentous occasion means to himself and Kane this evening, and that unless you have walked a mile in Kane's shoes, you cannot realize it. Bearer says he was there for 20 long years, as he watched his son Kane sit in a room with his dreams and pictures of The Undertaker all over the room as he watched Superstars every Saturday morning and told him "I want to be like him." Bearer told Kane he could be better than The Undertaker and says it is not wrong to dream. He says Kane was ridiculed and teased and put down, but tonight, for the first time, The Undertaker is standing in the shadow of his little brother. Brisco then removes the glass case covering the WWF Championship so that McMahon can ceremonially hand the WWF Championship to Kane. Kane says it is an honor to put the title around his waist voluntarily, but before he can do just that, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up and tells Vince that Kane never busted him open and that The Undertaker was the one who did it. Austin then demands a rematch for the WWF Championship tonight, and that all Vince has to do is say he's got it. Vince says everyone would love to see that rematch, and Austin tells Vince to get the stupid look off his face and give it to him. Vince then believes that Austin doesn't deserve the rematch, but Austin asks for a "hell yeah" if the fans want a rematch, which they do. Vince changes his mind, and says it's okay with him as long as it's okay with Paul Bearer. Austin puts Paul Bearer in the hot seat and asks the same of him. Bearer tells Kane to tell Austin, but Austin isn't having any of it and tells Bearer to grab the microphone and start talking. Bearer says it's all right with him if it's okay with Kane. Austin dares someone in the ring to have some guts, and asks Kane to give him the rematch tonight. Austin tells Kane he's bigger than The Undertaker now that he has the WWF Championship, and that The Undertaker won it for him and handed the belt for him, then tells Kane to ask himself if he could have beaten "Stone Cold" Steve Austin fair and square, and if he doesn't get the reamtch, he'll never know. Austin asks for the rematch, and Kane shakes his head yes. The rematch is on. Paul Bearer is livid.

The encore for King of the Ring is tomorrow night on pay-per-view.

Before the next match, Sable shows up with a note. She says that WWF owner Vince McMahon is pleased and proud to announce the signing of one of the greatest wrestlers in the world to a WWF contract: Steven Regal, who left World Championship Wrestling sometime last year. Sable guests on commentary for the next match, and says she is unable to discuss her agreement with Vince McMahon and Titan Sports that has allowed her to come back to the WWF.

Steven Regal beats Darren "Puke" Drozdov with the Regal Stretch in his WWF debut.

Michael Cole interviews new King of the Ring, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who says it's good to be king. He has competed in many, many fights in his career with the UFC and over in Japan, and says the King of the Ring Tournament was one of the hardest things he's ever had to do, calling it "a great accomplishment." He gives credit where credit is due and admits "The Rock" Rocky Maivia is a true champion and a true warrior. Suddenly, Owen Hart shows up and tells Shamrock to spare him the sugar-coating and sucking up, saying he won the tournament and is a better king than he'll ever be. He dares Shamrock to get in the zone and then get in his zone to see who the better king is tonight. Shamrock says Owen can talk, but asks if he can walk the walk. He also remembers Owen breaking his ankle, then accepts his challenge and says he's got nothing but pain to look forward to. "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley and Chyna show up, and says that he is "the King of Kings" and that one is not a king unless they step in the ring with him. He makes the challenge into a three-way dance, and asks if they're going to do something or just talk about it. Shamrock accepts the challenge for the Triple Threat Match.

We see "The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman warming up in the locker room, followed by the rules for the Brawl For All Tournament, which starts tonight and combines boxing, wrestling and other methods of fighting. There are three one-minute rounds, there is a point system where takedowns are worth five points, knockdowns are worth 10 points and the person who lands the most punches per round earns an extra five points. Knockouts end the match. Danny Hodge will be the official for the Brawl For All.

"The Lethal Weapon" Steve Blackman beats Marc Mero to continue to the next round of the Brawl For All Tournament after Blackman racks up a lot of points from takedowns. Within the middle of the first round, it becomes readily apparent that the fans are not interested in the tournament, and when both Mero and Blackman go to the corner after the end of the second round, the crowd starts chanting "We want wrestling!"

Kevin Kelly is in front of Kane's locker room, and that Kane will reveal why he accepted "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's challenge for a WWF Championship rematch.

Kevin Kelly interviews Kane, who says he has granted "Stone Cold" Steve Austin a rematch because he knows he can beat Austin again, then grabs Kelly and tells him he is a better champion than The Undertaker ever was.

The Undertaker is seen heading to the arena.

Before the next match, Val Venis chases after Yamaguchi-san with a steel chair and looks at Yamaguchi-san's wife (who is sitting at the corner near the ring), then says that if the ladies in the home of the Cleveland Indians want to get to first base with him, all they have to do is choke up n that bat and swing for the long balls.

Val Venis beats Dick Togo. During the match, it is announced that WWF Footbrawl will come to the Foxboro Stadium at noon on Saturday, August 8. Also, Dustin Runnels briefly guests on commentary during the match to spread the word of God. After the match, Val Venis looks at Yamaguchi-san's wife again, then Yamaguchi-san slaps him. Sho Funaki and Men's Teioh attack Venis from behind, but Venis gets a steel chair and lays them all out. We then see Edge in the stands.

Michael Cole interviews "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who says he didn't feel he lost the WWF Championship and says he feels pretty confident.

Before the next match, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock attacks Owen Hart from behind as Owen Hart makes his way to the ring. "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley waits in the ring as Hart and Shamrock go at it.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man' Ken Shamrock beats Owen Hart and "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley in a "King of Kings" Triple Threat Match after "The Rock" Rocky Maivia knocks Triple H with the Intercontinental title and Shamrock knocks Owen Hart into the guardrail with a pull of the top rope. After the match, a brawl between The Nation of Domination ("The Rock" Rocky Maivia, "The Godfather" Kama Mustafa, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry) and the rest of D-Generation X (X-Pac, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) erupts on the stage while Hart and Shamrock continue to go at it. Owen Hart tries to snap Shamrock's ankle again with a Figure Four Leg Lock on the ring post as referees try to pull him off Shamrock.

The Undertaker shows up. He says he owes nobody anything, not even an apology, but explains why he came to the ring last night. He says it is common knowledge that there is no love lost between him and Kane, mainly because of Paul Bearer's mind manipulation. He says the day may come where he and Kane may have to destroy each other, and if so, so be it. However, he did not want to see his little brother Kane set himself on fire to live up to his legacy and also exceed it, and says he did what he had to do. WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up, and implies The Undertaker has compassion for Kane before saying he really did it because he knows he can beat his brother for the WWF Championship and because he doesn't think he can beat Austin. He calls The Undertaker "the most vile, contemptible and evil individual the Devil ever placed on this earth," and that Hell hath no fury in what he will find if he interferes in tonight's WWF Championship rematch.

We see Bradshaw training on a punching bag backstage, while wrist tape is wrapped around Mark Canterbury's (the legal name of them formerly known as Henry O. Godwinn) wrist.

Bradshaw beats Mark Canterbury (formerly known as Henry O. Godwinn, now going by his legal name) to continue to the next round of the Brawl For All Tournament after landing more punches than Canterbury.

Kevin Kelly is backstage, trying to get an interview with The Undertaker.

Edge is seen in the crowd again.

L.O.D. 2000 (Road Warrior Animal and Road Warrior Hawk) show up and tell the Cleveland, Ohio fans that they have a surprise for them. Some time ago, there was a great man who came and saw great success in them, and brought them to the wrestling world and every title possible in wrestling. Now, they introduce - and re-united with - "Precious" Paul Ellering, their manager, who has been on the sidelines for a long time. Hawk calls Ellering "the greatest thing to happen to Cleveland and the best thing to come out of Cleveland since they ditched Albert Bell" before calling Bell "a stinkin' loser." He says Ellering brought them to the top, and now they are reborn with Ellering, who he calls their greatest friend and mentor, and Hawk says that Ellering is proud to be back and must have something to say. Before Ellering can say anything, Skull and 8-Ball show up, and Ellering them to his new team, 8-Ball and Skull, proving Ellering's return was all a set-up. Ellering hits Animal and Hawk with is copy of The Wall Street Journal as Skull and 8-Ball go on the attack.

Kevin Kelly interviews The Undertaker, who says that nobody tells him what to do.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin beats Kane to win back the WWF Championship. During the match, The Undertaker shows up and watches from ringside. After the match, The Undertaker gets in the ring, and The Undertaker grabs at Paul Bearer, distracting him. Austin runs up to The Undertaker and hits him with the Stone Cold Stunner, just like he did Kane, and both Kane and The Undertaker get up simultaneously, and stare at Austin as he leaves.

After the show goes off the air, Kane and The Undertaker brawl in the ring. The Undertaker hits Kane with a choke slam and leaves, punching Paul Bearer on his way out.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for February 9, 1998

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff show up. Bischoff says he's achieved so much in so little time is because he followed "Hollywood's rules." Hogan says he is tired of hearing about the New World Order unwinding and that "Macho Man" Randy Savage is leading a rebellion. Hogan says the nWo is here to take care of all the family business tonight, saying that this is not a case of "spare the rod and spoil the child" as he will show Savage why there is a pecking order and why everyone should be worshiping the ground he walks on. He knows Savage is here, and as soon as he and the nWo find him, he will give him the wrestling lesson of his life. Hogan doesn't have to wait long, however, as Savage shows up in the crowd and accepts Hogan's challenge, saying he will put on his fighting clothes and beat him all the way to Mexico. After he exposes Hogan, he says it'll be him versus Sting at SuperBrawl VIII. Hogan tells Savage not to put the cart before the horse and to come down to the ring so he can set him straight.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

"The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko is noticeably absent from the commentary table, and the reasons for why are not yet known.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael beats Glacier, this is suddenly attacked by Mortis after the win. Mongo soon fights back, hitting James Vandenberg with a chop and hitting MOrtis with the Mongo Spike before telling the El Paso, Texas crowd that this is how they take out the trash in Texas and that "The British Bulldog" Davey Boy Smith is next. During the match, Louie Spicolli guests on commentary, saying that he has "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko's bags, has made amends with Zbyszko and that he has no idea where Zbyszko is. Tony Schiavone and Mike Tenay doubt the sudden change of heart in Spicolli.

Konnan beats Normal Smiley with the Tequila Sunrise.

Mike Tenay interviews Mr. Brad Dillon of GM Motorsports, who announces that WCW is the proud sponsor of the #23 Busch Grand National team driven by Lance Hooper. He also says that there are a lot of things on the drawing board between WCW and GM Motorsports and we also see the #23 car, and Dillon says that there are good things ahead for GM Motorsports.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Referee Nick Patrick is in the ring and is confronted by WCW Executive Committe Chairman, who tells him to leave. Patrick says he has been falsely suspended due to the events of Starrcade, and that the controversial footage only shows him doing his job, and that Dillon has nothing on him. Unless the issue is settled, he tells Dillon that he will be have lawsuits chasing him and that he will be watching his back 24 hours a day. Dillon tells Patrick the ring is not the venue to address his issues, and orders security to escort him from the building.

Disco Inferno beats Yugi Nagata by reversing the Nagata Lock into a Chartbuster. After the match, Disco is attacked from behind by La Parka with a steel chair, and La Parka soon does the same to Nagata.

Mike Tenay interviews Lex Luger. Luger tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man' Randy Savage he is sick of them and the nWo, and tht he will take the liberty to speak for Sting, saying that Hogan should be getting ready for Sting and Savage should be getting ready for a no-DQ match with him at SuperBrawl VIII. He doesn't care if they beat each other to a bloody pulp, as he'll be waiting to get in the ring with what's left of Savage. Luger leaves, and pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho beat Dean Malenko and Chavo Guerrero Jr. with a Lion Tamer to Chavo.

We see a video package documenting the troubles between The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner).

Juventud Guerrera beats El Dandy, then fights off Chris Jericho when he tries to attack Juvi from behind. Chris Jericho says he was just here to congratulate him, and Juventud Guerrera challenges him for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Jericho tells Juvi he's just a flash in the pan and asks what he has to convince him to put the title on the line, Juventud says he has plenty of heart and that he will put his mask on the line. Jericho accepts the challenge for SuperBrawl VIII.

We see a video package of Bill Goldberg.

Bill Goldberg beats Steven Regal.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Kip Persons of The University of Kentucky is the winner of the Nitro Party Pack this week, and we see footage of his Nitro party. Persons is then seen in the crowd.

Louie Spicolli shows up with "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko's belongings on the way to the ring before the next match.

"Gentleman" Chris Adams beats Louie Spicolli by disqualification after Spicolli hits Adams - and grazes the referee - with "THe Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko's steel Hallibutron briefcase. Raven's Flock (Raven, Saturn, Billy Kidman, Sick Boy, Lodi, Scotty Riggs, Van Hammer) are seen heading to the front row during the match. After the match, an irate Zbyszko finally shows up and chases Spicolli out of the ring. We find out that he broke into his room, stole his stuff, switched his limo driver, and got him stuck in an empty arena. Zbyszko tells Spicolli that the only reason the nWo wants him to join is because they can't find anyone else who wants to join them.

We see a video package of Booker T.

Saturn beats Ultimo Dragon after reversing a Dragon Sleeper into a small package.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

Before the next match, Raven says that "The Crippler" Chris Benoit is not here tonight due to what he did to him on Thunder, and that he's probably at home nursing his wounds after what he did to him on WCW Saturday Night. Raven then tells Booker T he has Saturn's property, and sics Sick Boy and Scotty Riggs on Booker T, knowing that Booker T won't return the WCW World Television title to Saturn. Booker T fights them off as well as Billy Kidman and Lodi, but Raven overpowers Booker T. The match between Booker T and Raven is over before it can even begin, but Booker T fights back and takes out Van Hammer before eating an Evenflow DDT. Saturn finally shows up and puts Booker T in the Rings of Saturn. Raven screams at Booker T to feel the entire Flock's pain.

We see a video package documenting the recent events between "Macho Man" Randy Savage and the rest of The New World Order.

Before the next match, "Macho Man" Randy Savage attacks "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan from behind and punches out Eric Bischoff.

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage when the nWo drag the referee out of the ring and the nWo attacks Savage. Savage gets back up and attacks Hogan as the nWo leaves

Lex Luger shows up, expecting a match with "Macho Man" Randy Savage only for Miss Elizabeth to show up. Miss Elizabeth turns out to be a distraction, as Savage shows up from the crowd and attacks Luger from behind. Before Savage can hit the top rope elbow drop, Sting rushes into the ring and goes after Savage, hitting him with a Scorpion Death Drop as the nWo heads to the ring. Sting then points at "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, and Hogan slowly climbs into the ring when a giant black net drops down from the roof of the arena. The nWo takes advantage of the situation and attacks both Sting and Luger as they are trapped under the net.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) to win the WCW World Tag Team Championships after Scott Hall sends Scott Steiner into Rick Steiner, which the referee counts as a tag. Scott Hall has no idea that Rick is the legal man, and Rick hits Hall with the Steiner Bulldog as he readies Scott for The Outsider's Edge to get the win.

Nitro-Glycerin - Tuesday Nitro recap for July 22, 1997

The show starts with a performance from The Nitro Girls.

Eric Bischoff and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan show up and sit in the center of the ring. Bischoff says that Hogan kicking Lex Luger like a bag of dirt reminded him of the saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same as Hogan is still king of the hill. Hogan says only the names have changed to protect the ones he's already beaten, and says most of the guys in the back are there because of him. He says that in the 1990s, he is the man to set the pace for professional wrestling. He says that Konnan will put the icing on the cake for the New World Order and that Rodman is a great athlete, but he is still the man. To him, Lex Luger is just another man who wants what he has who can't lace his boots or live his life. As the #1 guy, he's used to people shooting bullets at him, but he's bulletproof as he is genuine. He tells Luger he's a lot smarter than him, and he wants him one-on-one in the ring so he can break his Torture Rack and break him in half. He accepts Luger's challenge, and tells Luger to kickstart himself for Sturgis, South Dakota as "the nWo World Heavyweight Championship" is on the line at Road Wild and he's ready to break him in half.

Konnan quickly beats Tsubasa with the Tequila Sunrise.

The Ultimate Dragon beats Steven Regal to win the WCW World Television Championship!

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who says that tonight is the night the wrestling world has awaited. He announces that The Four Horsemen have made a selection, and introduces the newest fourth Horseman: Syxx? Flair and Okerlund can't believe it, and Flair tells Syxx he's at the wrong place at the wrong time. Syxx says there is no fourth Horseman coming out tonight, and tells Flair that the Horsemen are a thing of the past. Flair tells Syxx he's walking away, then pushes Okerlund out of the way and punches Syxx in the face. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit shows up, and Syxx says they wouldn't be doing this if The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) were here. Benoit asks "Why don't we just find out?"

We see another performance from The Nitro Girls.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: "The Crippler" Chris Benoit! Jeff Jarrett! Meng! Curt Hennig! The New World Order may be making an appearance!

The Giant beats The Great Muta by disqualification when Muta spits green mist into The Giant's eyes. After the bell rings, Vincent and "Macho Man" Randy Savage rush in and attack The Giant, but The Giant still manages to overpower all three men despite being blinded. Lex Luger checks on The Giant, but almost gets choke slammed until Luger is able to tell him who he is.

Dean Malenko beats Steve "Mongo" McMichael after Jarrett distracts Mongo and Debra McMichael distracts the referee. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Malenko after the match, but Jarrett and Debra butt in. Police officers and security have to keep Mongo away from them as Jarrett says that the Four Horsemen are jealous of him and that he needs somebody to watch his back as much as Malenko needs somebody to watch his. Malenko tells Jarrett that he needs nobody and is a man who stands by himself, but at the same time, he knows there is strength in numbers. Debra says she knows talent when she sees it, and if he joins them, they'll go straight to the top as long as he watches their backs. Jarrett says that Malenko has joined him, as everybody wants to be around a winner, but Malenko tells Jarrett he'll give him his answer when he's good and ready.

Eddie Guerrero beats Hector Guerrero. After the match, Dean Malenko shows up and attacks Eddie in revenge for taking the United States title from him before putting him in the Texas Cloverleaf. Hector tells him to let his nephew go, but Dean tells him to get out of the ring. Hector punches Malenko a few times, then tends to Eddie only for Eddie to push him into Malenko, who then starts attacking Hector.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls, and pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews head of the WCW Executive Committee, James J. Dillon. Stevie Richards suddenly shows up as he says there is a huge announcement. Richards says there is another: he has signed a contract with World Championship Wrestling. This is confirmed by Dillon, who asks where Raven is. Richards says that Raven is in the front row as he has bought him a ticket. The three of them meet with Raven, and Dillon hands him his contract, which has everything Raven wanted. Raven asks "Everything I wanted?" Richards tells him he did the contract negotiations, and that in the contract, Raven is making almost as much money as Richards is and that he also has a full-size rental car "with a cassette deck for those long trips." Raven then talks about human existence, tears up the contract and punches Richards again.

Lex Luger beats Scott Norton by disqualification after attempted interference from Buff Bagwell and Vincent. Vincent is placed in the Torture Rack, and Bagwell is tossed into Norton. Lex Luger then grabs a microphone, but "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up and decides to make Luger special and have him in the ring his way before calling him "a Hollywood wanna-be." He tells Luger he is nothing and that he is in big trouble.

Konnan meets with The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). He is about to tell them what happened to Syxx when they notice that a cameraman is around.

Lee Marshall calls from Charleston, West Virginia - the site of next week's Nitro - for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

Mortis and Wrath beat Psychosis and La Parka. During the match, it is announced that The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) have accepted the challenge of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit for later tonight. We then see Flair talking with Curt Hennig backstage, and we find out that Hennig was supposed to walk out from backstage earlier, not Syxx. After the match, La Parka smashes a wooden chair into the back of Mortis only to get hit with a big boot from Wrath.

Buff Bagwell beats Booker T after Booker T elbows the referee in the face and Scott Norton distracts Booker T. After the match, Bagwell tosses the referee out of the ring as he, Norton and Vincent continue to attack Booker.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Rey Mysterio, Jr., who is currently on crutches. Rey is rehabbing his injury but has no idea how long it will take, but he knows it is helping him. As he talks about how he loves the sport of professional wrestling and how he knows injuries come with the territory, Konnan shows up and and kicks Rey's crutches away while saying he is part of the nWo, whom he now considers family. La Parka, Villano IV, Villano V and Psychosis show up. Rey says that Konnan knows nothing about family, but Konnan says nWo is the only family he needs and tells the four of them that they had better have a good gameplan as The Wolfpack (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx) has his back. Rey tells Konnan he will pay.

Curt Hennig quickly beats Michael Wallstreet in his WCW singles match debut as Diamond Dallas Page makes his way to the ring from the crowd, and Page and Hennig brawl until Page hits Hennig with the Diamond Cutter. Officials and security then have to keep Page from Hennig.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit as Flair once again focuses squarely on Syxx. Stev "Mongo" McMichael pulls Syxx off of Flair as Syxx has Flair in the Buzzkiller, then The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) show up on the entrance ramp as The Outsiders dare them to come to the ring.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for June 30, 1997

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who shows up with two lovely ladies carrying a mannequin dressed like "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Flair and the two lovely ladies make fun of Piper, then Flair tells Piper that he crossed a line last week by telling Flair how to wrestle a wrestling match. Flair says Piper may be the icon in Hollywood, but he is the icon in the ring and Piper can't hang with him. Flair takes the kilt from the mannequin and says that this is all that is left of Piper, and places it flat on the mat to "lay Piper to red" and have "a moment of silence" for him. Flair then tells Okerlund he's taking him to the party in Las Vegas and then tells the ladies they're going to party all night long.

Chris Jericho - now the WCW Cruiserweight Champion after being Syxx for the title last Saturday night in an Internet-only, audio-only feed of a house show from that night known only as "Saturday Nitro" that was advertised on Nitro for the past few weeks - retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Juventud Guerrera with a top rope Frankensteiner followed by the elevated Boston Crab submission that he debuted last week. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jericho after the match, and Jericho says the Cruiserweight title is a WCW title, not an nWo title, and that it is back where it belongs. Syxx shows up, tells Jericho he beat nothing until he returned to his hotel room afterwards. As far as he is concerned, he is still the Cruiserweight Champion and gives him "another shot" at the title by slapping Jericho. Jericho and Syxx brawl during the break, and WCW security have to break them apart. After the break, Alex Wright tells "Mean" Gene Okerlund it's about time someone did an interview with him. Wright says WCW has done nothing but hold him down for the last three-and-a-half years because he's from Germany. Wright says he is a fantastic wrestler with a great look and a great body, and that Lex Luger has nothing on him. The "interview" is cut short by Okerlund before the next match begins with Eddie Guerrero rushing at Dean Malenko from behind as Malenko makes his way to the ring.

Eddie Guerrero beats Dean Malenko. During the match, Chavo Guerrero, Jr. shows up and cheers Eddie on from the apron, distracting Malenko. Eddie runs Malenko into Chavo before hitting the frog splash for the win. Eddie and Chavo leave together.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Rey Mysterio, Jr., who says that he is sick and tired of being pushed around by The Wolfpack (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Syxx). Rey wants to know if he can beat Kevin Nash and challenges him to a match tonight. Nash shows up, and Rey says he has a bigger heart than Nash. Nash accepts the challenge, saying he'll do an autopsy and see what he's made of. Rey says it's about courage, but Nash tells him he's heard one too many bedtime stories. Nevertheless, Nash accepts.

Eric Bischoff shows up on a motorcycle, and is soon followed by "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan on the way to the ring. Hogan says he's been around and done it all, and says that him and Dennis Rodman beating up Lex Luger and The Giant was one of the greatest days of his life. As a result, he and Rodman have a special party going on tonight, and is letting Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and "Macho Man" Randy Savage have fun with Luger, The Giant and Diamond Dallas Page. He says The New World Order has the momentum, and at Bash at the Beach, he and Rodman will wipe up Luger and The Giant, but for now, it's time to party. He and Bischoff call Rey Mysterio, Jr. "a magician," then Hogan says the nWo is like a pack of wolves before asking if you want to be safe on the verge of greatness or if you want to walk on the fine line of disaster. He then says Rey Mysterio, Jr. is going down in a blaze of flames because Kevin Nash will wipe him out before they have some real fun in the ring later on.

Steven Regal beats Hector Garza with the Regal Stretch to retain the WCW World Television Championship after putting the knees up to block an Asai moonsault.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner). Scott says they're back at the front of the line and are owed a title shot by Eric Bischoff. Rick says they're not leaving until they are given that title match. It isn't long before The New World Order shows up. Hall has a contract in his hands, and says that if the Steiners were in their wrestling gear, they would go at it right now. Hall then says that he and Nash are the reason people are watching, and give the Steiners their title shot. The Steiners sign the contract, and Scott Steiner says they'll see them in the ring. Nash tells him to close their eyes, as they might pass them in the back somewhere. As The Steiners leave, Hall shows Okerlund the contract, saying that the Steiners have unintentionally agreed to a match against Masahiro Chono and The Great Muta before they can have the actual title shot.

Psychosis beats Super Calo after Sonny Onoo grabs one of Super Calo's legs and pulls him forward, allowing Psychosis to get the pinfall. Super Calo attacks Psychosis after the match, then La Parka shows up as Onoo directs traffic and smacks a wooden chair into the back of Super Calo. Juventud Guerrera shows up and outsmarts both La Parka and Psychosis.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit", Steve "Mongo" McMichael) beat Mashahiro Chono and Vicious and Delicious (Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell) when Vincent interferes. Vincent gets smacked from behind with the steel Halliburton briefcase for his efforts.

High Voltage (Rage and Kaos) beat Mortis and Wrath when Glacier distracts the referee and Wrath while "The Cat" Ernest Miller kicks Mortis during the Flatliner to allow Rage to get the pinfall. James Vandenberg says that Glacier and Miller will pay dearly for this after the match.

A white limousine has made it to the arena...

Jeff Jarrett beats Konnan with the Figure Four Leg Lock to retain the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship after "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair shows up and distracts Konnan, who spits at Flair. Flair helps Jarrett by grabbing on to Jarrett's hands to give leverage and ensure that the Figure Four is cinched in. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael join Flair and Jarrett after the match, and it is believed that the "Horsemen probation" is over. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jarrett after the match, and Jarrett says that professional jealousy came between him and the Horsemen. He says he and Flair have always seen eye-to-eye, and that he is a Horseman because Flair said so. Flair says that familiarity breeds contempt, and tells Jarrett is a fine athlete, a great young man and a player, but as of this moment, he is no longer a Horseman. Debra tells Jarrett is as welcome in the Horsemen as a skunk at a lawn party, and tells him he stinks. Jarrett then says Flair is just like Benoit and Mongo, and says that all three of them are professionally jealous of him. He tells Flair that he just loaded the gun and put it to his gun, and he'll be the one to pull the trigger and put him out to pasture where he belongs. Jarrett leaves, then Benoit says that Jarrett tried to conform when the Horsemen are non-conformists, and that Jarrett squandered his opportunity.

We look back at what The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) have done to Rey Mysterio, Jr. since the nWo's inception.

Kevin Nash beats Rey Mysterio, Jr., then hits him with another Jackknife Power Bomb and punches out referee Scott Dickinson. Nash puts Rey in a third Jackknife Power Bomb when Konnan suddenly shows up and heads to the ring, as he and Rey Mysterio, Jr. trained together in Mexico. Nash leaves the ring, then Konnan puts Rey in the Tequila Sunrise before leaving. Medical staff tend to Rey, who now has an injured knee.

After the break, Rey Mysterio, Jr. has to be placed on a stretcher, with speculation that either Rey's knee or leg is injured.

Mike Tenay interviews Raven, who is still seated at ringside. Raven says absolutely nothing to Tenay, and denies him an interview.

During The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) and "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Lex Luger, The Giant and Diamond Dallas Page, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up and lays out both Luger and The Giant with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship before the rest of the nWo do the rest of the work while DDP is left alone in the ring with Hall, Nash and Savage. Sting shows up in the crowd, but ting then rappels from the ceiling and goes after the nWo, the two Stings looking distinctly different with the former having shorter hair. All of a sudden, Mr. Perfect - real name Curt Hennig - shows up from backstage, and Raven jumps over the guardrail.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for May 19, 1997

This episode is an hour long due to the NBA playoffs.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund announces the start of the show, then interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair celebrates last night's victory, but it's not longer before Syxx shows up. He says that WCW beat nobody last night and the wrong guy was in the ring. He also says that he can take Flair after having been in the ring with him last night, and if Flair's got the guts, they can do it tonight, right here, right now. Flair once again says he doesn't know about Scott Hall or Kevin Nash, but he calls Syxx "a fly in the ointment" and tells him he will kick his flyweight ass. He shoves Syxx, which starts a brief brawl that is near the commentary table for a few seconds before Syxx runs to the back.

Steven Regal beats Prince Iaukea with the Regal Stretch.

Mike Tenay guests on commentary for the next match to announce that Nitro is coming to Las Vegas, Nevada on June 30th. On that day, he will join "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and Madusa for an autograph signing at the Great Gardens box office, and a major star will make his WCW debut that night.

Masahiro Chono beats David Taylor with an STF.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Sonny Onoo. Onoo says he can make or destroy a champion, and tells Masahiro Chono he has a debt to pay with him and all of New Japan. Next week, Onoo has Chono's worst nightmare, and Chono will have a match with him. When Chono asks who it is, Onoo says he will make him sweat, and refuses to divulge any details on this mystery opponent.

WCW Executive Committee member and Chairman James J. Dillon announces that Nick Patrick is officially reinstated as a referee, and will be on probation for the next 30 days to show that he deserving of this second chance.

Scotty Riggs beats Michael Wallstreet - who now wears an anti-WCW shirt - after referee Nick Patrick keeps Wallstreet from pulling a weapon out of his pocket and kicks Wallstreet's hand off the rope during a pinfall.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund introduces Mark Martin, who is accompanied by "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. The car in front of them is going to be given away. All one has to do to win is to go anywhere where Valvoline is sold and register to win between now and June 25th. For more info, call 1-800-TEAM-VAL. He hopes to win this weekend, and Flair asks Martin to stick around long enough to stick Syxx to the wall.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat The Four Horseman (Jeff Jarrett and Steve "Mongo" McMichael) after Kevin Greene shows up and smashes the steel Halliburton briefcase into Mongo's back. An enraged Mongo runs to the back and shoves head of WCW security Doug Dellinger to the side in the process. Before the break, it is announced that Nitro is returning to its original starting time of 7:55 PM Eastern, 6:55 PM Central and returning to two hours.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair beats Syxx by disqualification in his first singles match since returning from injury after The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) show up and attack Flair. Any officials who try to break this up are immediately attacked by the threesome. Nash says that if last night was Flair's finest moment, tonight is anything but. Nash says it's now about putting Flair and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, saying that Piper "had better be strapped sitting on top of that mountain, 'cause we're gonna be bumrushin' you, old man." Hall asks Nash to call the Smithsonian as they have one-half of that dinosaur exhibit they were looking for, and that Piper will be sitting in the other half soon.

Eric Bischoff shows up. Last week, he had something he wanted to say to Sting, and has called him at home, at the gym where he used to work out, and even hired a private detective agency to find him and keep track of him so he can give him a message, but he can't find him. Bischoff looks up at the ceiling a few times, then says Sting isn't here because he's a coward who is consumed with his hatred for "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan. He says Sting will never get in the ring with Hogan because he loves him and is not worth a drop of Hogan's perspiration, and that Sting should worship the ground that Hogan spits on. He then wishes Sting was here tonight so he could slap the paint off of his face. Almost as if on cue, Sting pops out from underneath the ring in the corner of the ring and hits Sting with a reverse DDT.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for April 28, 1997

Tonight's episode is one hour due to the NBA Playoffs. Tony Schiavone, "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan are on commentary for the show.

Tonight's show begins with Ric Flair winning his 13th World Heavyweight Championship against Vader, as Ric Flair returns to the ring in a few days.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair show up to start tonight's show, but instead of walking to the ring, they walk to the commentary table. They say that the New World Order are angry with them for "not filling the potholes." Piper says he doesn't want to wait until Slamboree to take them on. Instead, he wants the nWo to bring it tonight or not at all. Flair says they're ready to go as he dares the nWo to stay up all night and dance a little longer.

We see pre-recorded comments from Jeff Jarrett, who proclaims that Dean Malenko's 1,000 holds means 1,001 counters to him and that he will earn Malenko's respect like he did with The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) as he beats him for the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.

Dean Malenko retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Prince Iaukea with the Texas Cloverleaf.

Syxx retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Juventud Guerrera with the Buzzkiller.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) and Syxx show up, and they walk to the commentary table this time. Hall says they were sitting in the back when they heard "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper wanted a piece of them. He tells them "whatever" as he says nobody cares what they have to say, as everyone in Norfolk, Virginia is here for the New World Order. Nash says that in Charlotte, North Carolina, they have no problem giving them the beating of their lives, and it will be for 75% of the gate (ticket and merchandise sales) as "it don't come cheap." He also says that they miss "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan. When the commentators return, it is mentioned that Nash wanted 75% of the gate so that they could get out of the match, thinking that WCW would not meet that kind of demand.

"Lord" Steven Regal beats "The Crippler" Chris Benoit by disqualification when The Taskmaster, Jimmy Hart and Jacqueline show up and The Taskmaster attacks Benoit from behind. This escalates into a brawl between Benoit and The Taskmaster, and after Benoit kicks The Taskmaster in the groin, Jacqueline jumps on Benoit only to be pulled off by Woman. Meng gets a death grip on Benoit, and even "Lord" Steven Regal can't beat Meng off of Benoit. Meng finally drops the hold after Woman and The Taskmaster stare a hole through him. Woman then tends to Benoit.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth tell Diamond Dallas Page that Savage and Page are on the road to disaster, and that Page is in his world. He then says that Kimberly will find out that DDP won't be able to handle him, and that Kimberly is dreaming about him and not Page because she has class "with a capital K." He tells Page that he will realize he should have never knocked on his door, and that he and Kimberly can't handle him.

Lex Luger and The Giant beat The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet) with a choke slam to Rougeau and a Torture Rack to Ouellet.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael beats The Barbarian with a steel Halliburton briefcase shot to The Barbarian's head as Debra McMichael distracts the referee.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair show up again, and this time they're ready to fight, saying it is time to fix what is not yet broken. They call out The New World Order. Flair says he doesn't know if he can beat Kevin Nash or Scott Hall, but he can beat Syxx as he's gotten the World Heavyweight Championship "more times than Syxx has had pieces of ass." The New World Order music plays, but when it turns off, papers fall from the top of the arena, with "Tradition bites! nWo 4 life" printed on them. Suddenly, Hall, Nash and Syxx show up, and Syxx rushes to wards the ring only to run right into Flair. Hall and Nash try to get the jump on Flair, but they both get punched in the groin and Flair puts Syxx in the Figure Four Leg Lock. Hall and Nash eventually recover and all three men gang up on him. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper takes off his belt and swings it at all three members of The New World Order to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for April 7, 1997

The show begins with the aftermath of Diamond Dallas Page vs. "Macho Man" Randy Savage at Spring Stampede.

The Dungeon of Doom (Konnan and Hugh Morrus) beat "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright and Psychosis. During the match, we see footage from earlier today where Diamond Dallas Page says that it is not over between himself and "Macho Man" Randy Savage as he enters the building.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats "Lord" Steven Regal by disqualification when Regal refuses to break the Regal Stretch after Rey grabs the bottom rope. The New World Order - at least its main contingent - shows up to the arena, during the match, and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan says that they will take care of the family business, draw the line and bring the family back together. After the match, Prince Iaukea tries to make the save, but Regal puts Iaukea in the Regal Stretch. Two more referees have to get into the ring to break the hold. There is then news that another limousine is arriving at the arena, which contains the rest of The New World Order. "Macho Man" Randy Savage is now on crutches after what happened at Spring Stampede.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Ice Train. During the match, The New World Order gets together, and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan wants to know where everyone stands. "Macho Man" Randy Savage says that Eric Bischoff has gotten soft since his suspension, but Bischoff says he's gotten smart and not soft. Kevin Nash, who is standing in the back, is noticed walking away during their conversation.

We see footage from the world premiere for Double Team, where "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Dennis Rodman are spotted. We learn that Rodman is in the nWo because he wants to have fun, make a lot of money and doesn't want to be fined anymore. Hogan tells Rodman that nobody is in his league. Double Team is premiering in theaters July 13th.

The Taskmaster beats Hector Guerrero. Once again, Jacqueline pounds on The Taskmaster's opponent outside of the ring.

The New World Order shows up. Ted DiBiase says it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that there is turmoil within the family, and that they will all end it tonight as it is all for one and one for all and they will either walk out together or go their separate ways. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan says it's time to take care of family business, or else the "nWo World Heavyweight Championship". Hogan first focuses on Kevin Nash, who has problems being in Chicago around the time of Spring Stampede, and tells Nash that if he has a problem, it needs to be aired right now. Nash says he has no problem with Dennis Rodman and welcomes him to the nWo, but he sat in the hotel room with Syxx and apologizes if he was a little grouchy last week. Hogan says that he'll make sure Nash goes on an nWo Easter hunt next year. Hogan says Nash having no problem with Rodman solves half the equation, then asks why Scott Hall was nowhere to be found, and wants to know where Hall is. Nash says that Hall is "nWo 4 Lyfe," as he has known him for seven years. Hogan then says that if the rules haven't changed, the family is still a family, yet Nash is burning a hole through him. Hogan tells Nash that either he and Hall are in it "4 Lyfe," or Nash and Hogan need to get it on right now. Hogan gets ready for a fight, and Nash tells Hogan he doesn't have to love him to respect him, as where he comes from in Detroit, Michigan, you're only as big a man as your word. Nash tells Hogan he gave him his word then, and he's giving it now, as "nWo 4 Lyfe" means just that. Everyone makes up except for "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who is still angry with Eric Bischoff. Hogan then proclaims that Sting is on the boderline of getting stung as the crowd chants for him, then tells Savage that if he and Nash can see things the same way - while telling Nash he does not want to get it on with him - then Savage can bury the hatchet with Bischoff. Savage says he is willing to go with the flow, but just like how Bischoff is on probation with Ted Turner, he is on probation with him and Savage is on probation with Bischoff. Bischoff says that's good enough for him, and all is well with The New World Order...for now.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. He says that last week, he and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper bonded, and The New World Order knows because the word is out that they're ready to play ball one more time. Flair then introduces Piper to the ring, who says that it is time to strike, and Flair says that Kevin Greene wants to join in on the fun. Piper then says that he saw the confusion within The New World Order, and says they smell like six dead otters in the drainpipe and can't wrestle. He then says that if Ric Flair says Kevin Greene is okay with him, that's gold in his book. Suddenly, Kevin Greene shows up out of the blue, and makes it known that he's got Piper and Flair's back. Te three of them then dance around in the ring together before leaving.

Dean Malenko retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship after a swift kick to the head. Jericho has to be tended to by medical staff after the match.

High Voltage (Rage and Kaos) beat Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) after Johnny Grunge sends himself through a table after Kaos rolls of it. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Public Enemy after the match. Grunge says it's all good, and Rocco Rock gives credit where credit is due, and challenges High Voltage to a Philadelphia Street Fighter next week after telling them they may have started something they can't finish.

Backstage, Prince Iaukea is tended to by medical staff, getting his rips taped up.

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) beat The Four Horsemen (Jeff Jarrett and a very late Steve "Mongo" McMichael) after Mongo shows up late, gets a few hits in, then tags Jarrett in order for Jarrett to fall victim to a Harlem Side Kick. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Jarrett, Mongo and Debra McMichael, and Jarrett says that he is tired of Mongo making him out to be an idiot, and says "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair would not approve of his behavior tonight. Jarrett asks where Mongo was, but Mongo never answers his question and says he will get his due and everyone in the locker room should be afraid of him.

Lee Marshall calls from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - the site of next week's Nitro - for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

The Ultimate Dragon takes advantage of Prince Iaukea's injured ribs to beat Prince Iaukea and become WCW World Television Champion!

Scott Steiner is attacked by Konnan and Hugh Morrus of The Dungeon of Doom before the next match. The Giant shows up to help, and when Hugh Morrus hits The Giant in the back with a steel chair, it has no effect. Konnan and Hugh Morrus are forced to retreat, and the match is thrown out.

Diamond Dallas Page shows up, battered and bruised and with his right arm in a sling from his match at Spring Stampede. Page says that last night, he faced one of the biggest superstars in professional wrestling, and if anyone ever said that he would be in the main event two years ago, they would be nuts. Page considers himself an anomaly that wasn't supposed to happen, and it happened to "Macho Man" Randy Savage. He tells Savage that if he found him grabbing Kimberly by the hair and slapping her upside the head, he would have killed him. He takes his sling off, and tells Savage that if he has any guts, he would get in the ring and face him again right now. Savage shows up on crutches and without Miss Elizabeth, but "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up and tells him "this one is on me." The rest of The New World Order shows up, and tells Savage that he's taken care of the New World Order, and now Hulk will take care of Savage by facing Page himself. As Hogan rips his shirt, Sting shows up in the rafters on a cable, and rappels down to the aisle. Sting stands between the ring and The New World Order, and he tosses the baseball bat to the ring, where Page catches it. He then pulls another bat out and points it at Hogan before joining Page in the ring.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for February 17, 1997

The show begins with the arrival of The New World Order. Suddenly, Scott Hall turns around to discover that Big Bubba has been attacked.

Rey Mysterio, Jr. beats Super Calo. During the match, it is announced that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is preparing for his match against "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in Alcatraz Prison, and that The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) were injured in an auto accident after WCW Pro and will not be able to compete in SuperBrawl VII. The camera then cuts to Big Bubba being placed in an ambulance on a stretcher outside of the arena.

Steve "Mongo" McMichael beats Hugh Morrus after Debra McMichael sneaks the steel Halliburton briefcase into the ring and distracts the ref so Mongo can use the briefcase to protect himself from a No Laughing Matter from Morrus.

We see a video package of "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

Before the next match, Dean Malenko leaves Syxx with a message: 10 minutes from the arena is where his father took Syxx under his wing and trained him to become a professional wrestler. At SuperBrawl VII, Syxx will get a lesson from him not to mess with other people's property.

Dean Malenko beats Robbie Brookside with the Texas Cloverleaf. After the match, Syxx shows up with the WCW Cruiserweight Championship around his waist, and tells Malenko that he never liked him and that any respect and gratitude he had for his dad died with his dad. He says that Malenko ducked him since he showed up in WCW, and if he had to steal the Cruiserweight title to get a shot, so be it. Syxx then tells Malenko that he's "got [his] respect and gratitude right here," and Malenko goes after him.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) and Syxx show up, and say that "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko are Tony Schiavone are gossiping like women at a hair salon. Scott Hall confirms there was an automobile accident involving them and The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner), but if they think they're going to pin the accident on them, they're wrong. Hall pulls out a video tape with footage of the accident, proving their supposed innocence. The Outsiders and Syxx then have a war of words with Zbyzsko, and Zbyzsko refuses to back down.

The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) are seen in the crowd before the next match, as are Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) and Sister Sherri.

Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) beat The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet). It is announced that the Four Corners match is now a #1 contenders Triangle Match for the WCW World Tag Team Championships.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. Page says he just entered the arena and has no idea who attacked Big Bubba at the top of the show, and denies any involvement in the incident.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Lord' Steven Regal before the next match. Regal insists he would wrestle anyone in the world anywhere with the Television title, and he has done just that. He says that Prince Iaukea has his chance to fight him for the title tonight. As for Rey Mysterio, Jr. at SuperBrawl VII, he says Rey should stay at home with "the other six dwarfs and Snow White," or else he won't be 5'4" anymore as he'll make a handrail for the Great Wall of China out of him.

Prince Iaukea beats "Lord" Steven Regal to become the WCW World Television Champion after Rey Mysterio, Jr. shows up, distracting Regal and allowing Iaukea to win with a crucifix pin. Theodore Long, Johnny Grunge, Eddie Guerrero, and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock rush out to congratulate Prince Iaukea, while Regal argues with referee Randy Anderson and gets physical with him only for Anderson to push back.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Randy Anderson beats Nick Patrick after referee Jimmy Jett hands him a foreign object before the match. An angry Eric Bischoff confronts both Anderson and Jett, and fires Jett while denying Anderson his job back.

Lee Marshall calls from San Francisco, California - the site of next week's Nitro - for the 1-800-COLLECT Road Report.

New York Yankees owner George Steinbrenner is seen in the crowd with his grandson.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Road Block after Road Block confronts Woman only to get slapped in the face.

We see footage of the accident involving The Outsiders (Kevin Hall and Scott Hall), Syxx and The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner). The threesome follow The Steiner Brothers, then decide to mess with them by ramming them from behind. Rick Steiner is so focused on The Outsiders that his and Scott's Mercury Sable tumbles off the side of the road and lands upside down. The Outsiders and Syxx flee the scene of this accident immediately, proving that The Outsiders are the cause of the accident that caused the Steiners' injuries.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Taskmaster, Jimmy Hart and Jacqueline. Jimmy Hart says that Woman has been built on a bluff during her wrestling career, and that she will find out why The Taskmaster and Jacqueline are "too legit to quit." The Taskmaster says he had no place to go until Jacqueline strutted back into his life, and that Florida is his backyard. At SuperBrawl VII, they will see whose fire is hotter. Jacqueline tells Woman that she's just a little girl, and if she interferes at SuperBrawl VII, she will whip her up and down the ring. She concludes by saying that Nancy has a big, fat butt. (The author would like to say that "Mean" Gene Okerlund's reaction to the "big, fat butt" comment makes this more hilarious than it should ever be.)

The Taskmaster beats Doc Dean thanks to the help of Jacqueline, who absolutely puts a hurting on Doc Dean outside of the ring. Jacqueline drops elbows on Doc Dean after the match.

Eddie Guerrero beats Konnan by disqualification and retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship when The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) attack Eddie. Chris Jericho shows up and fights off The Faces of Fear, then bumps into Eddie, whom he faces for the title this Sunday.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Woman, Debra McMichael). Flair says there is excitement in the air as the Horsemen are in town and they look good. He says that the Horsemen are reunited, and in the weeks to come, they will own the wrestling world. Anderson says that a few months ago, The New World Order had their way with everyone, but Eric Bischoff failed to take the character of the people he hired into consideration, and says that WCW is fighting back against the nWo and that the Horsemen aren't stepping aside for anybody. Mongo tells Jeff Jarrett that he belongs to him this Sunday, while Debra says that Jarrett is a winner, and tells the announcers to step their game up as she was afraid that Jarrett was injured, and that Jarrett is useless to the Horsemen if he is injured. She goes on to say that Jacqueline cannot walk in a pair of pumps to save her life. Benoit tells The Taskmaster that he will do what he's always done: kick the door down and make a statement. He tells The Taskmaster that he has fought for what he believes in, and that he will fight to the death for it, as this match is now about what's in his and Taskmaster's souls. The Taskmaster will have to break his bones, his will and his soul to beat him, and that all The Taskmaster owns is himself.

The Giant quickly beats Top Gun and Johnny Swinger in a handicap match. After the match, The Giant spray paints "Hall" on the back of Top Gun and "Nash" on the back of Johnny Swinger, then "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant after being accompanied by Lex Luger. Luger holds up a piece of paper, and it is confirmed to be a medical release to compete with a protective device at SuperBrawl VII. Bischoff shows up and tells Luger that he is a week late, and that he will not wrestle at SuperBrawl VII. Luger calls Bischoff "a pathetic little creature who hides behind his title," and says that there is no way Bischoff can prevent him from making his way to SuperBrawl VII, and Bischoff views this as a threat. The Giant and Lex Luger climb out of the ring when Bischoff says he can fire him and The Giant, and chase him to the back.

We see "Rowdy" Roddy Piper live on Alcatraz Island. He says he has fought for everything and that he has been dead inside for years, and that when a man is dead inside, there is nothing that a man can do to hurt him. He calls "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan "Mr. Spandex" and calls him a facade who constantly craves recognition. He is now staying in Alcatraz for seven days and seven nights, and instead of creating the world, he is destroying Hogan, as there is no room for the both of them and that what Hogan did to him is beyond wrestling. At SuperBrawl VII, he plans to teach Hogan that pain is a four letter word.

Chris Jericho beats Jeff Jarrett. Debra McMichael shows up during the match, and Steve "Mongo" McMichael shows up to confront Debra. Debra tells Jericho not to hurt Jarrett, but Mongo hits Jarrett in the back with the steel Halliburton briefcase as he has Jericho in the Figure Four Leg Lock.

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan shows up with Eric Bischoff, Miss Elizabeth, and Ted DiBiase, with the rest of the New World Order just behind him at the entrance ramp. Hogan says that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is crazy to get back in the ring with him and "get his brains beat out again." He continues to call Piper a liar and a coward as Sting and "Macho Man" Randy Savage appear at the entrance ramp. Bischoff tells Hogan that Piper can't even carry his boots to the ring. Hogan says he put Tampa and Venice Beach, Florida on the map and that he is the man. Sting approaches the ring, but "Macho Man" says something inaudible to Sting as if to say "not yet," and they both leave. Hogan says he will ride Piper like the dog that he is, and insists he be called just "Hollywood" Hogan from now on.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for February 10, 1997

Before the next match, Dean Malenko calls out Syxx, telling him he knows that he stole the WCW Cruiserweight Championship from him, and that he extends to him an open invitation to a wrestling lesson and a lesson in respect.

Dean Malenko beats Eddie Guerrero by count-out. During the match, Syxx shows up with the WCW Cruiserweight Championship around his waist, hitting Dave Penzer while trying to take away Eddie Guerrero's United States title. Eddie Guerrero goes after Syxx and gets it back, but Syxx escapes into the stands and Eddie Guerrero can't get back in the ring in time. Eddie offers his hand, but Dean Malenko slaps it away.

Diamond Dallas Page shows immediately after the opening bout with a chair. He takes the chair with him on the way to the ring and sits down. He says it's obvious he has a target in the middle of his forehead. He's never been accused to being the smartest guy, and says he might be doing the stupidest thing he's ever done. He says he is tired of running and if something is going to happen, then it might as well happen right now. Sting and "Macho Man" Randy Savage are suddenly spotted coming out from the stands and heading to the ring. Sting tosses his bat to Savage, and Savage taps Page's bat with the chair as he and Sting circle page. Page gets out of the chair after a few taps, and Sting pushes Page back with the bat after Savage tosses it back to him before teasing attacking him with the bat. Sting then hands the bat to Page and turns his back, as does Savage, and the two of them dare Page to attack them. Page does nothing, and Savage takes the bat from him before as he and Sting leave.

Konnan quickly beats Bobby Eaton.

Before Lex Luger can take on Ron Powers, Eric Bischoff gets in his way and keeps him from competing tonight due to Luger's hand being broken and in a cast from last week's attack from The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). Bischoff tells him to give him a doctor's release before he leaves the country, or else Luger will be out of action for four to six weeks - and miss SuperBrawl VII - and that Bischoff could fire him. Lex Luger leaves angry, and The Giant shows up as Eric Bischoff talks about how he has to protect the wrestles from themselves. Eric Bischoff runs to the back as soon as he notices him, then The Giant takes Lex Luger's place in the match.

The Giant beats Ron Powers. Mike Tenay interviews The Giant after the match, who says that The Outsiders are dealing with a true, fire-breathing, walking 7'4", 475 lb. giant, not a regular man. He is not concerned about having a partner for the World Tag Team Championship match, as he has a partner in Lex Luger as he opened the door for him when nobody else would, as everyone else was scared and intimidated and considered him untrustworthy. He says Luger has the heart and intensity, and he has to ask Luger one question, and when he gets his answer, "we'll see." Luger shows up, and The Giant asks him if he would let anything stop him from championship gold after all they have both been through. Luger says no. The Giant then says that at SuperBrawl VII, when it's him alone vs. Hall and Nash and he beats him like he owns them, he will walk out of San Francisco with the WCW World Tag Team Championships, and one of them will go to Luger when he does.

We hear pre-recorded comments from The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner), who tell The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) that they are ready and willing to fight their way back to the tag team titles, starting with a Four Corners match to determine new #1 contenders for the tag belts.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat High Voltage (Rage and Kaos). Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) and Sister Sherri are seen watching the match from the entrance ramp soon after the bell rings, as do The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) and Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock).

Eric Bischoff shows up with Syxx, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) and Nick Patrick and kick Tony Schiavone and "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko off commentary. Bischoff brings out Randy Anderson, who shows up with his wife Christy and his kids Chase and Montana to hear what he has to say. He has brought them here to show them the pain Bischoff has put them through, and asks Bischoff to give him his job back. Bischoff says he should have given this more thought, and asks his children to tell his dad that he's still fired and to get on with his life as Nash and Hall make fun of him. Bischoff tells him to deal with adversity, but decides to give him a taste of adversity and prove that he has a heart and the ability to play on a level playing field by putting Anderson in the ring in a match with Nick Patrick. His wife Christy tells him not to do this after what the doctors have told him, but Randy says that he's wrestled cancer and that he will wrestle Nick Patrick. Eric Bischoff gives Nash and Hall an opportunity to wrestle tonight, and they pretend to leave as The Extreme (Devon Storm and Ace Darling) show up for another match. Syxx distracts The Extreme while Nash and Hall attack them from behind. "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko returns to commentary.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) beat The Extreme (Devon Storm and Ace Darling) with a Torture Rack on Storm. Syxx interviews Nash and Hall after the match, and Nash tells The Giant to keep being a giant if he wants, as they'll keep being too sweet. Hall says that Nash is also seven feet tall, except he stopped at the cool stage while The Giant slipped at "the dork-meter." He says that The Giant and Lex Luger can't run with them. Kevin Nash then makes fun of Lex Luger's injury, telling him he shouldn't be spending so much time backstage warming up.

The Taskmaster beats Maverick Wild after Jacqueline beats Maverick Wild outside of the ring not once, but twice as The Taskmaster distracts the referee. Jacqueline hits Maverick Wild in the face with a forearm after the match. The Taskmaster, Jacqueline and Jimmy Hart are interviewed after the match by Mike Tenay, and The Taskmaster tells Woman and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit about a phone call from a man named "Paul E." who told him to "do his job." He tells Woman that she only thinks she's tough as she comes from a community and he and Jacqueline come from a neighborhood, and that Jacqueline is the closest person in his life now. Jacqueline tells Woman that she wouldn't be anything in her neighborhood, and that Benoit won't be able to rescue her at SuperBrawl VII.

Hugh Morrus beats "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael beat Jeff Jarrett and Chavo Guerrero, Jr. when Debra McMichael keeps Jeff Jarrett out of the ring. It becoms apparent that Debra has feeling for Jarrett as "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson show up as Mike Tenay is about to interview The Four Horsemen. When Mike Tenay calls him the voice of reason in The Horsemen, Anderson says that he is the most unreasonable man you will ever meet. He says that everyone is preparing for war in WCW, and that while Jarrett may have caught Debra's eye, the last guy to do so woke up in six weeks with a flea collar around his neck and sandbags holding his feet up as he asks "How many of them were there?" He tells The Taskmaster that he has lost his soul and his will to win, and that it's time to bury the body. Flair states that today, The Horsemen are in town, and whether you like it or you don't, learn to love it as The Four Horsemen are the best thing going today. Benoit tells The Taskmaster that they have the same personalities and ideologies, and if he wants to play his head games, they'll play them and play them to win. Mongo makes fun of the Jacksonville Jaguars, calling them "expansion wimps," before confronting Debra about what she was doing with Jarrett. Debra says she wants to see Jarrett as a Horseman, and that she wouldn't do anything to hurt Mongo as he still loves him. She also says that she was so devastated about what happen last week as she couldn't go shopping that week and that it was like she couldn't focus. Mongo tells Jarrett she has a one-in-a-million chance of beating him, and that if he does, he's a Horseman. Debra calls The Taskmaster and Jacquelion a "fastidious" couple, as she's fast and he's hideous.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper shows up, and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan watches via satellite from the nWo Studios in Hollywood, California. He says he did not come here to talk to Hogan via satellite while he hides in Hollywood, and that he is here because Hogan said he wanted to fight. He made a promise to his son Colt that he was going to quit wrestling and be the father to Colt that he never had as he missed watching half of his kids grow up, but then "that bald headed geek" Hogan had to go and ruin it. He told Colt he was sorry for what he was going to do, and Colt simply told him "Go get him, Dad." That gave him a license to kill, and Hogan is the target. Hogan says he's more pathetic than he realized, and insists that he beat Piper at Starrcade as he accuses Piper of cowardice for his action last week. Hogan says he has no time to drop his schedule as he has multi-million dollar contracts and people waiting in line to get in the ring with him. He tells Piper that he won't be able to hide behind his children at SuperBrawl VII. Piper tells Hogan to shut up, as he is going to murder him at San Francisco and that the difference between him and Dennis Rodman when he is done with him is that Hogan won't jump.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for October 28, 1996

A man in a white and black mask is seen watching from a luxury box. That man is identified by Tony Schiavone as none other than Sting. (Sting's face paint, now black and white and harlequin-like in nature, is now dramatically different from what he is known for wearing.) The nWo contingent is then seen carrying signs in the crowd, and Syxx speaks from the crowd to welcome everyone to "nWo Nitro." Juventud Guerrera and Lord Steven Regal are incensed by this turn of events as Syxx says the nWo has the World title, the US title (albeit unofficially), and when he's finished, the Cruiserweight title. (Ironically, he fails to mention the tag titles, which Kevin Nash and Scott Hall won last night.) He tells Sting to make the right choice and don't listen to anybody else before saying "nWo 4 Life." (It should also be noted that future WWE announcer Justin Roberts is seen standing directly in front of Syxx while wearing a backwards white baseball cap.)

"Lord" Steven Regal retains the WCW World Television Championship by submission against Juventud Guerrera. Tony Schiavone almost interviews Regal after the match but cannot due to the commercial break, and Sting leaves as Schiavone is talking.

Dean Malenko beats Jim Powers after referee Nick Patrick's neck hurts as Powers pins Malenko, causing Theodore Long to argue with Nick Patrick. Patrick accuses Long of not being in his corner when Long argues with him this time. During the match, Psychosis is seen watching the match from the top of the entrance ramp, having come back from an injury he suffered at the hands of Konnan.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian)! Chris Jericho vs. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit! Jimmy Graffiti! Big Bubba! The Taskmaster!

Jeff Jarrett beats Ricky Morton with the Figure Four Leg Lock. The Giant is seen in the crowd after the match, and he says he could huff and puff and blow Nitro down, but he's not going to. He tells Jarrett that The Four Horsemen passed him a wet match instead of a torch, and that he had him in the choke slam until "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair saved him. He calls The Horsemen pathetic for banding together like a pack of rats, and says that they are afraid and that they fight scared, walk scared and are scared. He tells Jarrett his day is coming, and that someday, somewhere, his hand will go around Jarrett throat and he will choke slam him. He also threatens to take out The Horsemen systematically if they get in his way again. He tells everyone to check their bed and closet and say their prayers when they go to bed as there is a monster behind their back. Tony Schiavone interviews Jarrett after the match, and if The Giant wants to get it over with, he can do it right now and they can finish it. He said he had Halloween Havoc to style and profile, and that The Giant wouldn't be able to choke slam him...and he didn't. He tells the nWo they will come down and their walls will crumble, but for that to happen, WCW had to unite. He did not know there would be a bunch of groups and cliques going at each others' throats, and tells Sting that if he doesn't want to be the leader, he'll be more than happy to be the leader. Jarrett goes on to say he's a third-generation wrestler and more to lose than anybody, and promises that "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan will fall. He says WCW has been around since 1905 and will continue to be around for a long, long time.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour. It is then announced that "Macho Man" Randy Savage is not in the building tonight after the attack he received at Halloween Havoc.

High Voltage (Ronnie Rage and Kenny Khaos) vs. The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet) comes to an end after The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) attack both teams. Sags calls their potential nWo membership "a big Hollywood Hogan lie." He says that The Nasty Boys don't need to belong anywhere, and say the same of both Sting and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Knobbs says they may not be liked or even wanted, but they are nasty and were nasty before The New World Order and even World Championship Wrestling were a thought, and goes on to say they were born nasty. Knobbs tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan it feels good with the knife sticking out of his back, and says Kevin Nash and Scott Hall fogged up his brain a little. He then says The Nasty Boys are ready to rumble.

Rey Mysterio, Jr. beats Jimmy Graffiti. It is announced that "Rowdy" Roddy Piper has asked WCW for and received five minutes to send a message to "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, and that we will see that message later tonight.

A.C. Green of the Phoenix Suns is seen in the front row again, and this time he has a war of wards with referee Nick Patrick. (He is also seen giving Booker T and Sister Sherri a hard time during the main event.)

Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael show up during the next match, and Mongo says he's here to ensure that "there are no more slip-ups around here." We then see pre-recorded comments from Jimmy Hart and The Taskmaster, who say that Taskmaster sent him and The Faces of Fear to destroy what was left of The Four Horsemen and that The Dungeon of Doom has succeeded at that and is alive and well. The Taskmaster tells "The Crippler" Chris Benoit learned that "woman was the ultimate destruction of us all." He tells Benoit that he owns something that will stay his because he is "the man."

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Eddie Guerrero in a match where both men are not at 100% after the events of Halloween Havoc after Steve "Mongo" McMichael hits Guerrero with the Halliburton briefcase as Woman distracts referee Nick Patrick. Tony Schiavone interviews referee Nick Patrick, who is joined by his attorney Allen Sharp. Sharp wants all questions directed towards him "before you, Mr. Schiavone, can distort the truth." Sharp says that Patrick has been an honest, hard-working official and referee and has given his all to the professionalism of this great sport. He says that all the controversy of "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan didn't have to have to happen, all because of one person: Chris Jericho, who allegedly brutally and viciously attacked Nick Patrick. Jericho shows up in street clothes and says there is nothing wrong with Patrick's neck, and everyone knows he is a paid employee of The New World Order. Sharp asks Jericho if he has anger problems, but Jericho tells Sharp to stay out of it, and tells Patrick he will not forget how he screwed him out of a victory against Syxx. Sharp asks Jericho if he ever had problems playing with other children when he was young, and tells him professional counseling will be in order. Theodore Long shows up and tells Sharp where he comes from, they call people like him "scam artists" and that if Sharp didn't have a degree, he'd be standing on a corner with a squeegee in his hand begging for quarters to wash windows. He tells Sharp that Nick Patrick is sandbagging and that Jericho is a young star in the making that Patrick is holding back. Sharp says he is surprised that Theodore Long has the gall and audacity to question him in front of millions of people all over the world, and says this is called "slander." Sharp threatens to bury him so deep in legal paperwork that he won't be able to get out of it.

We see pre-recorded comments from Col. Robert Parker, who says that there is no problems between himself and Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray), and if it was his fault that The Outsiders became WCW World Tag Team Champions, he'd take care of the problem in a snap.

As Lex Luger is facing Booker T, Lex Luger sees Sting in the stands. It is clear that Sting is not a happy man, and Lex Luger jumps into the stands to find Sting. Sting leaves as Luger finds him. Booker T beats Lex Luger by count-out.

We see a repeat of the conversation between "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and "Rowdy" Roddy Piper from when Halloween Havoc came to an end. Ted DiBiase, The Giant, Vince and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan show up to respond to "Rowdy" Roddy Piper. Eric Bischoff says that is footage from after Halloween Havoc, and that he will try to bring it to the home audience. Hogan says he came through for the nWo at Halloween Havoc, and that there is no doubt that the nWo is the only body that is the superior body in the professional wrestling business. He says the nWo has conquered and won. He tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage that he has nothing but the utmost respect for him, as the cross to bear of the whole WCW was put on his back last night, and with all the powers in Savage's Slim Jim, he couldn't get the job done. He also tells Savage he'll take really good care of Miss Elizabeth for him. He says that Piper admitted that he looked up to him and admitted he couldn't lace up his boots. He saw the fear in his eyes, and calls Piper turning tail "the best decision of his life." Ted DiBiase then announces that with the foundation of the nWo firmly established, tonight is the night for Hogan to entertain for the nWo loyals. Hogan then poses for the crowd to end the show.

Scott Steiner beats Booker T.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Scott Steiner after the commercial break. Scott says that he and his brother Rick Steiner have prided themselves in being the best tag team around. All of a sudden, Debra McMichael shows up and needs a minute with "Mean" Gene. She is worried about her husband Steve "Mongo" McMichaels are Kevin Greene, especially Steve, as he might get a little crazy and hurt somebody personally, and feels this is all her fault. "Mean" Gene tells her it's not her fault, as "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair has a reputation and has taken visual liberties and said things he should not have said. Nevertheless, Debra doesn't want to see anyone get permanently injured, and wants to see if it is possible to talk it out with Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, talk this over and see if this match can be called off. "Mean" Gene tells her he will try to get an audience with them and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Konnan, who will take on El Gato at The Great American Bash. He tells El Gato he has to come down to the United States to prove himself just like he did, and that any apathy on his part will lead to his demise.
Sting beats Meng with the Scorpion Deathlock.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is backstage with Debra McMichael and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan. Heenan lets Debra into "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson's dressing room to talk them out of the match against Steve "Mongo" McMichaels and Kevin Greene, but Heenan then slams the door shut. Debra is accosted by Woman and Miss Elizabeth but manages to escape. Flair and Anderson go after her, and their opponents for the evening, Joe Gomez and The Renegade happen to be there when Debra runs away. Flair and Anderson attack Gomez and The Renegade, and Flair puts The Renegade into the Figure Four Leg Lock. Officials have to rush in to stop the attack.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan beats "Squire" David Taylor after Taylor makes the mistake of turning his back on Duggan. It is confirmed during the match that Sting and Lex Luger have agreed to replace Joe Gomez and The Renegade in their match against "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson tonight, and that the WCW World Tag Team Championships will be on the line.

We see a video package of both Rey Mysterio Jr. and Dean Malenko.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Big Bubba and Jimmy Hart. Jimmy Hart tells John Tenta that he suffered the consequences for not pulling his weight in The Dungeon of Doom. Big Bubba says he proved John Tenta is only half a man, and that if he thinks he can cut his hair or The Giant's, he'll leave him laying like the beached whale that he is.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Scott "Flash" Norton, who says that he took two choke slams from The Giant and is still standing, as he doesn't care and he's not scared.

Fireworks indicate the beginning of the second hour.

The Giant beats Scott "Flash" Norton, then Lex Luger rushes in and tries to get a piece of The Giant only to get tossed out of the ring with the greatest of ease. The Giant clears the buffet table near the aisle and put Luger through the table, but Luger kicks The Giant in the groin and hits him with a steel bowl. The Taskmaster, Big Bubba and Hugh Morrus check on The Giant, who is not only barely fazed but also even angrier with Lex Luger than ever. Lex Luger then appears at commentary, and says The Giant does feel pain after all. He then tells The Giant that he has more surprises for him at The Great American Bash.

"Lord" Steven Regal quickly beats Billy Kidman by submission, then Sting rushes in and slaps Steven Regal in the face with a knife edge chop. Regal is both surprised and incensed.

Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) beat The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) after Sags smacks Johnny Grunge in the back with a trash can.

We see last week's video package of Hulk Hogan.

"The Nature Boy" RicFlair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson vs. Sting and Lex Luger for the WCW World Tag Team Championships ends when The Giant shows up. The Giant has the strength adantage at first, but Sting and Scott Steiner hit The Giant with chairs, and the chair shots send The Giant into a frenzy before he finally leaves. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Giant, who tells Luger that he is a dead man, and accepts his challenge for The Great American Bash, telling Luger he will be leaving Sunday night on a stretcher.

Razor Ramon shows up at the end of the show. Eric Bischoff says he doesn't want any trouble with him, and wants to know what the big surprise is. It's right behind him: Diesel. He tells Eric Bischoff he's been running his mouth for the last six months, and says that while WCW is where the big boys play, he and Razor aren't playing. Diesel says that Eric Bischoff still doesn't have his three men yet because nobody wants to face them, and that this show is about as interesting as "Marge Schott reading excerpts from Mein Kampf." Again, Bischoff doesn't want any trouble, and Diesel says he knows he doesn't want any trouble because he'll kick his teeth down his throat. He wants to know why Bischoff hasn't gotten his three guys yet, and wonders why he couldn't get a paleontologist to get three "fossils" cleared, or enough guys off dialysis to get a team. He also wants to know where Hulk Hogan and "Macho Man" Randy Savage is. Eric Bischoff says that their fight isn't with him. Tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock, he will be in the WCW offices in Atlanta, where he has the authority to give them their match at The Great American Bash against three guys, and if they show up, he can try to give them their guys. Diesel tells Bischoff to bring what he's got, as the measuring stick has changed around here and he's looking at it.
