Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for May 10, 2023

Claudio Castagnoli beats Rey Fenix in a Double Jeopardy Match to earn a shot at the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships. (Had Rey Fenix won, he would have earned a shot at the ROH World Championship.)

Backstage, Renee Paqueette interviews Miro, who has not been seen in quite some time. Miro says nothing and enters Tony Khan's office.

We hear from MJF, who talks about how the "Four Pillars of AEW" came from nowhere to become stars and how the difference between him and the rest of "the pillars" has widened and how he has beaten the best to become the best. He then says that what the rest of "the pillars" have done pale in comparison to his AEW accomplishments, and that his reign of terror has just begun.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to tonight's steel cage match between Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) head to the ring. Dax Harwood asks Mark Briscoe to come to the ring so he can apologize to him, but Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh and Sonjay Dutt show up instead. Sonjay tells FTR that they have one job and that it is to accept their challenge for the tag team titles at Double or Nothing. Dax says he will accept their challenge if they admit to using Mark Briscoe to get to them. Sonjay Dutt says that Mark Briscoe is their friend, then Mark Briscoe shows up with a few Styrofoam cups and a bottle of alcohol. He says that he has gotten with Tony Khan, and the match is not only official, but he is the special guest referee. Everyone then has a toast, but Sonjay Dutt spits his drink in Dax Harwood's eyes. Mark Briscoe gets shoved into a blinded Harwood as he tries to keep the piece, and Harwood instinctively piledrives Mark Briscoe.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Chris Jericho. He wants to know why Adam Cole got the best of him with an unprovoked attack while he was on commentary, then says Cole created an unsafe working environment and proved himself a coward, then provides a document stating that he and Adam Cole cannot be in the same building. Roderick Strong shows up and tells Chris Jericho that Adam Cole is no coward, then says he is not banned from the building and challenges him to a Falls Count Anywhere match. Jericho appreciates Strong's loyalty, but says he will knock his teeth down his throat and that he has a whole army behind him. Strong then provides a document stating that The Jericho Appreciation Society is also banned from the building for the match.

Backstage, Renee Paquette is met by Thudner Rosa, who also heads into Tony Khan's office.

We hear from Sammy Guevara, who says that he is the pillar that should not be and that he is only here because he is too good to deny. We also hear from Chris Jericho, who talks about his history with Sammy Guevara leading to this moment, and from Tay Melo, who says that she knew that the main event is where Sammy belonged. Sammy says he puts everything on the line to get to where he is, especially when "the machine" has always been against him, and says that if trust in your heart, your dreams will come true.

We hear from Tony Khan, who says that this is one of the biggest cards in Dynamite history and that there are stars lining up for a chance in AEW. He says that AEW can create more content every week and asks everyone to stay tuned on TNT for a huge announcement, and on TBS where they will follow up on an even bigger announcement.

Orange Cassidy retains the AEW International Championship against Daniel Garcia.

We see a video package of Hikaru Shida double-crossing The Outcasts (Saraya, Toni Storm, Ruby Roho), and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Jamie Hayter challenging The Outcasts to a trios match.

Tony Schiavone interviews Christian Cage and Luchasaurus in the ring. Christian says he is the number one contender for the TNT Championship "because he is Christian Cage," and that he is afforded certain luxuries due to his accomplishments. He then asks what is up with all the wresters in AEW and their "daddy issues," as his current opponent in Wardlow also had a father, who he will not make fun of because he was not famous and nobody cared about him. He also says it is lucky that Wardlow found Arn Anderson when Arn was looking for a new son himself, then goes on to say that Brock Anderson is under contract in AEW and that Arn threw him to the side for Wardlow. He then goes on to mock Arn Anderson's history of being part of The Four Horsemen and goes on to say that Arn Anderson never won a world title, and that unlike Arn, he knows what it takes to reach the mountaintop. After asking Wardlow how it feels knowing his mentor is not as good as he thinks he is, Christian tells Wardlow that he will prove that his days as champion are all but over before telling the fans to kiss his ass.

We hear from Darby Allin. He says he was put on this earth to become a pro wrestler as we see him perform stunts back home, and says that he wants to give back to pro wrestling after all it gave to him. He says he knows where he is going and how to get there, and that he is going to be world champion.

Julia Hart beats Anna Jay A.S. with Hartless in a no-holds-barred match. During the match, it is announced that Rampage airs this Saturday at 10 PM Eastern/9 PM Central.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Best Friends and Bandido. Orange Cassidy says he has room in his backpack for three more belts, then Trent Beretta says they will be winning the big one. On the subject of the chosen rule, Chuck Taylor says that Julia Hart is scary and that "all witches are banned from ringside."

The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) retain the AEW World Trios Championships against Bandido and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta). After the match, it is revealed that Kyle Fletcher has attacked Orange Cassidy backstage before he picks up the AEW International Championship.

We hear from "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, who talks about how he trained to wrestle when he was young and knew it was what he wanted to do. He says that he has put in the work to become a world champion, and also talks about how Christian Cage taught him a lot yet showed him how cold the business can be. He says he wants to be the best professional wrestler and show that if you put in the work, you can make things happen.

We see a video package for "Absolute" Ricky Starks vs. "Switchblade" Jay White for next week.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson guests on commentary for the next match.

Jon Moxley beats Kenny Omega in a steel cage match after Don Callis stops Moxley from stabbing Omega with a screwdriver only to do it himself. After the match, Callis entertains stabbing Omega again, but reneges and says something to Omega before kissing him on the forehead.
