Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 11, 2023



"Inevitable" Ace Austin beats "Outlandish" Zicky Dice in the BTI match.

Masha Slamovich beats Killer Kelly after rebounding off the corner during the Killer Clutch and pins Kelly's shoulders to the mat.



Backstage, Sheldon Jean is met by Kenny King, who tells him that he has a star-making opportunity to turn into something of substance and show Nick Aldis that he has teeth, and that he has the opportunity to answer the question "What's in it for me?"

It is announced that IMPACT Wrestling is heading to Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia for its first Australian tour on June 30th and July 1st.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Trinity. She says that last week was absolutely amazing, even though she was caught off card by Jordynne Grace and "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo. She says she will be watching and waiting to see who she will face for the Knockouts title, then says that she has an open contract for Under Siege because she is here to fight. Jai Vidal then shows up and takes a selfie with her.

Nick Aldis beats Sheldon Jean with the King's Lynn Cloverleaf.



Backstage, Dirty Dango and Joe Hendry interrogate Johnny Swinger and "Outlandish" Zicky Dice. Zicky accuses Hendry of attacking Director of Authority Santino Marella, and this leads to a match between Johnny Swinger and Dirty Dango, which Santino makes official.

Gia Miller interviews Frankie Kazarian for Part 3 of a sit-down interview, in which Kazarian says that "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander was his only opportunity to become world champion and that the world title is still a goal of his. He says that the title is always on his mind, and when there is a fight worth fighting, he will fight it. Kazarian says he has 25 years in the business and wants to be the guy who raises people up and proof that "high tide raises all ships" as he gives back to Impact and brings it to the heights he knows it can reach.



Before the next match, John Skyler mocks the fans of Chicago, Illinois before stating the Chicago Cubs have a better shot at winning the World Series than Decay does at beating The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch).

The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) beat Decay (Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus). During the match, Brian Myers shows up to watch the match from ringside before clothesline Crazzy Steve on the outside and hanging up Black Taurus on the ropes.



The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is Sarita and Taylor Wilde vs. The Beautiful People (Angelina Love and Velvet Sky) to decide the very first Knockouts Tag Team Champions from No Surrender 2009.

Backstage, Steve Maclin tells Champagne Singh and Shera that it is their fault that he has to defend his World title against Rhino and that they have failed him, and that their business relationship is over. Maclin leaves, then Singh says he and Shera have to fix this.

Backstage, Champagne Singh and Shera attack Heath until security stops them. Rhino finds out that Singh and Shera attacked Heath before heading out for his match.

Steve Maclin retains the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship against Rhino after hitting the Gore on a hobbling Rhino after targeting Rhino's left leg during the match. After the match, Maclin continues to attack Rhino on the outside, then chokes him with a chair before smashing it into Rhino's left knee. He then wraps the chair around Rhino's left knee and finds a shovel, which he then hits the chair with to further injure Rhino's knee.



In footage from during the break, Rhino is helped to the back on a gurney and into an ambulance outside. Afterwards, Steve Maclin accuses Scott D'Amore of punishing him, then makes his match at Under Siege against PCO for the IMPACT Wrestling World Championship a no-disqualification match. Maclin deicdes to attack Rhino again, but PCO comes out of the ambulance and attacks Maclin.

Before the next match, Joe Hendry says his nose has deviated 1.8 centimeters to the left, which he says is a career ender, and says that Michael Jordan told him not to cut his promo because it was too dangerous. Hendry says he wanted to hear the fans say that they believe as they give their support to Dirty Dango.

Dirty Dango quickly beats Johnny Swinger with an inside cradle.

We hear from The Design (Deaner, Angels, Kon). Deaner says Sami Callihan had a chance to become something bigger than himself, but he chose to betray them and it gave him pain. He says that if Callihan continues down that path, it will only bring more pain and suffering and he will have nothing. Deaner says Callihan has nothing while he has a family and an army of men who will follow him to the ends of the earth and inflict pain and suffering at the snap of a finger. Suddenly, two of the yellow hoodied men in the army of men that appear behind The Design attack everyone else, and they reveal themselves to be Sami Callihan and Rich Swann.

It is announced that "Speedball" Mike Bailey is participating in the Best of the Super Junior Tournament in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Backstage, Moose confronts Brian Myers about helping The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) when they can be tag team champions themselves. Myers says he is mentoring "the stars of tomorrow" in The Good Hands, but Moose tells him to get his priorities straight and leaves. Myers says he will mold The Good Hands into tag team champions under his guidance.

The Coven (Taylor Wilde and KiLynn King) retain the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Tag Team Championships against "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo and Jordynne Grace after Jordynne inadvertently knocks Deonna off the apron. After the match, The Coven continue to attack Jordynne Grace, but Trinity runs into the ring and fights off The Coven before hitting KiLynn King with the Rear View. Jordynne and Trinity then shake hands.
