Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for May 24, 2023

Orange Cassidy retains the AEW International Championship against Kyle Fletcher after reversing a piledriver into an Oklahoma Roll.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Absolute" Ricky Starks, who says that he was in full control when he hit Juice Robinson with the chair. He says he is beaten up week in and week out and that he is tired of it, and as he mentions what he will do at Double or Nothing, he is attacked by Juice Robinson. "Switchblade" Jay White shows up and tells Starks he will not beat either of them at Double or Nothing.

We hear from "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry, who talks about how his drive down Las Vegas is different every year while being in the ring in Las Vegas has always felt the same, and this year, when he drives back down the road, he will do it as AEW World Champion.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) head to the ring. Cash Wheeler tells Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett have been lucky, but their luck will run out at Double or Nothing. Dax Harwood says that Jeff Jarrett cannot stay relevant and has to tag themselves to them in order to do so, then says that FTR are no tag team rejects before telling him he will need to find a new job and call Dixie Carter after Double or Nothing because "a couple of TNA rejects" will not be winning their titles. Suddenly, Mark Briscoe shows up, and Wheeler tells Briscoe not to let Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett make him look stupid, because they went to hell and back with him and his brother and they will do the same for him this year. Mark Briscoe addresses Dax Harwood piledriving him, and when Harwood admits that he was blinded when he did and apologizes, he extends his hand only for Mark to slap it away. On his way out, Jay Lethal and company (Feff Jarrett, Karen Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt, Jeff Jarrett, Satnam Singh) show up, but Mark Briscoe smacks everyone out of his way and tells Lethal that while he is his friend, he is tired of the bullshit.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Sammy Guevara, who says that MJF has told her that his offer is still on the table. Sammy says he will not lay down for anybody, as he has refused to compromises on his dreams to appease old bosses by "growing up and living in the real world" before telling MJF to kiss his ass, as he is the one who will take the AEW World Championship from him.

The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews) retain the AEW World Trios Championships against AR Fox, "All Heart" Blake Christian and Metalik after Brody King chokes out Blake Christian with a sleeper on the ring apron.

We hear from The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson). Danielson says that Claudio and Wheeler Yuta will win tag team gold before they end The Elite. Moxley says that they are the best in the world, and that he says that because of the standard they set for themselves and the fans who pay money to see them get the job done the way it was meant to be done, which nobody does better than them. He says this is the major leagues, and asks if anyone is willing to stand in the line of fire and deliver when it counts. He says it will count at Double or Nothing, and that they will deliver in Anarchy at the Arena in a storm of violence, standing calm ready to take aim and fire, and that everyone will see the difference between professionals and amateurs.

MJF heads to the ring. MJF says Las Vegas, Nevada may be called "Sin City," but he looks around and says it might as well be renamed "Virgin Vegas." As for Double or Nothing, he wishes harm on his challengers, then says that unlike them, he is intelligent, then says that he and his opponents are as homegrown as it gets and that they had the cheat code of being on national television, going from being complete unknowns to giving some of the best matches in history in four years, as "they are AEW." He then says that he is getting bored with AEW due to the lack of competition and competency as well as the fans not showing him the respect he deserves. He also knows that his contract is coming up and that it is no coincidence that he is wrestling three other men and does not even need to be pinned to lose the AEW World Championship. He then says Tony Khan and other people are pressing the panic button, then says he might as well take his ball and go home, because the AEW World Championship is his ball and he has been faster than anyone else can keep up. He says that while his opponents are talented, they are not on his level. Darby Allin soon shows up, and MJF tells him he is busy before asking if he has something to say to his face. Allin says he has lost a lot in his life, but he has never lost his mind and he knows who he is. He then says that was not always the case, as everyone told him to play it safe and not expect much in life. He says he listened to those people and ended up cleaning toilets at the 99 cent store, and he went from doing that to living in his car and working to be a professional wrestler. He says AEW saved his sanity and allowed him to live as he wants in and out of the ring, as no other company will allow him to do the extreme stuff that he has done. He says that he is who he is and that nobody can create him, and this Sunday, he is taking the AEW World Championship and he might just take it with a headlock takeover. MJF then kicks him in the groin, then Sammy Guevara and Jungle Boy show up. MJF soon gets laid out.

We hear from Wardlow and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. He says Powerhouse Hobbs may think he has the advantage, but he has spent his life climbing ladders and bets he could stick a 16-foot ladder in his mouth. Anderson says that while a man can do dirty things with a ladder, it will not compare to what Wardlow will do to him.

Taya Valkyrie beats Lady Fost as Jade Cargill, "Smart" Mark Sterling and Leila Grey watch.

We hear from Tony Khan, who announces that the very first episode of AEW Collision will take place Saturday, June 17th at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Center from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "Hangman" Adam Page. He says that he was always the best of friends with The Young Bucks, and while his friendship with Kenny Omega has been different, they have always been like family. He says their friendship has taken them to Anarchy In The Arena, then says the cost that The Blackpool Combat Club has run up is too high and that The Elite will see them on Sunday.

Tony Schiavone moderates a contract signing between Adam Cole and Chris Jericho for their unsanctioned match at Double or Nothing. Adam Cole shows up first with Roderick Strong, followedy by Chris Jericho with The Jericho Appreciation Society. After he signs the contract, Adam Cole says he wants to know why Jericho had him handcuffed to the bottom rope while Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. was beaten with a Kendo stick as Jericho directed traffic. He says that Jericho truly believes that he is invincible and can do what he wants, whenever he wants, and that he should be thankful that AEW is happy to have him. He then says they will see how invincible Jericho is when he beats the hell out of him. He also says he should be glad their match is unsanctioned, as the blood will be on his hands and not AEW's, which is the way that he likes it. Cole says it is taking all the energy in him to stop himself from beating him up from across the table, then tells Jericho that they will see if Jericho can do anything at all after he breaks him, then tells him to hurry up and sign the contract. Jericho is about to sign the contract when he shows the footage of Britt Baker being hit with a Kendo stick, then blames Cole for being destroyed with a Kendo stick. Strong stops Cole before he can hit him before Jericho calls Cole a coward. Jericho then says he will knock his teeth down his throat, because Cole knows he cannot beat him. Jericho then signs the contract before saying that Cole cannot beat him because he is outnumbered. Cole then says that he has evened the numbers game with a few phone calls, then reveals that he has called Sabu, who shows up and attacks Matt Menard with a chair, causing the J.A.S. to scatter.

We see a video package for Toni Storm vs. Jamie Hayter for the AEW World Women's Championship at Double or Nothing.

Roderick Strong beats Daniel Garcia.

We hear from Willow Nightingale, who beat Mercedes Mone to become the inaugural New Japan Pro Wrestling Strong Women's Champion at NJPW Insurgence.

The Lucha Bros. (Penta el Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) retain the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Champions The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta) after The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) keep Claudio Castagnoli from getting in the ring as Penta hits Fear Factor. After The Young Bucks flee into the crowd, Jon Moxley tells them that The Blackpool Combat Club will splatter them all over the pavement in Anarchy At The Arena, as they have not gone far enough and the fans have not seen anything yet.
