Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for May 27, 2023

Pete Pranica guests on commentary this week.

Dustin Starr interviews "Casanova" Colton Cage before the next match. Colton says that the last time he was here, there was a very clear stipulation: if he beat Van Viciouss one-on-one - which he did - he would get "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock one-on-one in the ring. He says counting may not be the strongest suit of The Hollywood Clique, but he sees three clowns in the ring and says he has called Dustin. Dustin Starr says Colton Cage has consulted the championship committee and announces that Jason Vain and Van Viciouss have been banned from ringside.

"Casanova" Colton Cage beats "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock after taking out both of his security guards Jake and Elwood and after Blaylock gets dizzy trying to hit the Tupelo Tornado.

Dustin Starr interviews Ellsworth Enterprises (Matt Williams, Storybook Prince Gaston, "The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx). Gaston says he has been on important business as he carries a briefcase, the contents of which he says will change the world. He says a certain someone - obviously Nyxx - deserves a gift, and gives her the most prestigious, expensive and important gift Memphis Wrestling will ever see - a brand new Memphis Wrestling Women's Championship that is "the perfect size for the perfect female athlete."

"The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx guests on commentary for the next match.

Mackenzie Morgan and Big John Dalton beat Ellsworth Enterprises (Matt Williams and Storybook Prince Gaston) after Cassandra Golden stops "The Goddess of the Night" Nyxx from interfering.

We see more of Tim Grind and Lance McCade's tour of the WrestleCenter, where Tim and Lance are met by Draco and Gio Savage before they see the ring.

We hear from Tommy Dreamer, who says that Memphis, Tennessee has always been a special place to him. While he is from "the land of extreme," a lot of the stuff he grew up with came from Memphis. He says that he was just saying hello to the people of Memphis after having just put his mother into the ground when The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) jump him. He says that pain is forever and that they will unleash the demons inside his head and a lot of pain because he watched the woman that he loved die. Dreamer says he has friends, too, and that some of them are not even human, and that he feels bad for The Posse. He says he will live with his pain, but the pain The Posse will see will be the likes of which they will never see again.

As "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt is on the phone, he finds a pamphlet from Reverend Ash Taylor on his car, then picks up the phone and calls the phone number on it.

Brother Bruce beats Ray Collins. During the match, the "Righteous Path Hotline," which one can call by dialing (901) 646-0274, is shown on-screen. Later in the match, as Sister Jennifer distracts the referee, "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt shows up, puts something in the donation plate, then gets in the ring and lays out Ray Collins, giving Bruce the win.

Before the next match, Barnabas the Leader says The Circuz (Barnabas the Leader and Maurice the Strong) is not coming to town, as he regrets to inform everyone that Maurice the Strong is not medically cleared to compete, making K-Toomer "the luckiest mizark in all of Memphis Wrestling." When asked if The Circuz is scared, he says K-Toomer is scared, as he is nothing more than a chicken as he pulls out a rubber chicken. K-Toomer then shows up with a table, and as Barnabus runs away, he tosses his rubber chicken behind the announce desk in such a way that it knocks the "We Are Memphis Wrestling" decal on the wall down. The decal is back up when Dustin Starr interviews K-Toomer, who says that he knows what Barnabus is about to do and tells the fans to block the exits before telling Barnanbas he has him for "three minutes of playtime" and that he is going through a table.

K-Toomer beats Barnabas the Leader in a tables match.

We hear from "The Problem Child" Aaron Roberts. Roberts says this is about "The Roberts Family legacy," then introduces his big brother Cornell Roberts and his father Big Red - whom Roberts claims Dustin Starr was scared to get in the ring with - as he that after three generations, the Roberts Family will get what they deserve. Justin Case says the Roberts Family Legacy will dominate Memphis Wrestling and that there is nothing can do but love it and believe it.

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels retains the Memphis Wresting Heritage Championship against "Big Trouble" Ben Bishop, thwarting Bishop's Cobra Cup cash-in.
