Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 4, 2023

Laredo Kid beats Jack Price in the BTI match.

It is announced that Trinity - formerly known as Naomi in WWE - will debut with a live microphone tonight.

Brian Myers and Moose beat Bhupinder Gujjar and Yuya Uemura.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviws Steve Maclin, Champagne Singh and Shera. Maclin says everything he does is tactical and that he knows there are shots coming in every directions. He says allying with someone makes sense, then Singh says rubbing elbows with the World Champion is something money cannot buy. Maclin says tonight's main event is not going to be a six-man tag match, as there is nobody dumb enough to tag with PCO. Singh then gives Gia Miller some money.

Backstage, Dirty Dango tries to get to the bottom of who attacked Director of Authority Santino Marella, and Joe Hendry appears. Dango admits that he lost the tuft of hair that Santino gave him as he focuses on the wall of pictures (which also has George Michael, Tyler Breeze, Tomko and Larry D on it), and says it all leads to Mike Tenay. Joe Hendry mentions Trey Miguel not being happy with being put in a Triple Threat Match that he got angry.

Before the next match, Deaner tells Sami Callihan that he made the biggest mistake of his life when he smashes him in the face with a baseball bat. He then tells the fans that if they think he deserved it, then they are giving Callihan a false sense of hope that he can withstand the challenge in front of him right now. Deaner then tells Callihan that he has not accepted a challenge to face him, but a challenge to fight Kon, who then attacks him. Angels then hits Callihan with the ground and pound before the match.

Sami Callihan vs. Kon ends when The Design's (Deaner, Angels, Kon) army of people in yellow hoodies swarms the ring and attacks Callihan. Deaner then calls off the people in the yellow hoodies and grabs Callihan, telling him he made a mistake. Callihan yells "Do it, bitch!" as Deaner hits Callihan with a baseball bat.

Backstage, Dirty Dango and Joe Hendry interrogate Trey Miguel. Joe Hendry finds out that Trey Miguel is not missing some hair, and lets him go. Trey has no idea what to make of what is going on.

Backstage, Jimmy Jacobs interviews Nick Aldis. Aldis says things are moving fast and there is an electricity in the air since he has returned, and everyone is wondering when he will face Steve Maclin for the IMPACT World Championship. He says he does not expect to waltz into a title shot for a championship with a twenty-year legacy, and he expects to prove his worth on the roster all over again and go through the entire locker room if he has to as he climbs every step on the ladder. Kenny King shows up and says everyone has bending over backwards to welcome him back like he is the second coming, then asks if he is on the fast track or work his way up like everyone else. Aldis accuses Kenny of being a gatekeeper and says he is knocking on the gate, and if he wants to be his first match, he has no problem with it. Kenny says he will have to work his way up to an audience with him and leaves.

Jody Threat beats Alisha Edwards.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley). Sabin says he and Shelley will always be The Motor City Machine Guns no matter what, but that does not mean they can be successful as individuals. He says he is a record-breaking eight-time X Division Champion and wants to be a nine-time champion. As for Shelley, he says that he is considered one of the best to never win the World Championship and that he is going to go and win the World Championship.

We see part two of Gia Miller's backstage sit-down interview with Frankie Kazarian. Kazarian talks about his time in Ring of Honor and how he re-invented himself to the point that he would be part of the ground floor of what became All Elite Wrestling. While he enjoyed being in AEW, he had to bet on himself and return to IMPACT, as his history, legacy and future is here.

PCO's tag team partners are revealed to be Heath and Rhino. Rhino says that while PCO wants to beat Steve Maclin, Champagne Singh and Shera all by himself, he and Heath still have beef with Singh and Shera.

PCO, Heath and Rhino beat Steve Maclin, Champagne Singh and Shera in a six-man tag match.

Backstage, KiLynn King catches up with Taylor Wilde as she prepares a candle for a spell, then talk about the duality of magic and nature before Wilde states that when the candle disappears, so will Jordynne Grace and "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo.

Backstage, Rosemary reluctantly summons Father James Mitchell and brings up someone blocking their access to the Undead Realm. James mentions someone more powerful that The Coven is blocking them and asks Rosemary to come with him, as it may be a long time before they work something out. Rosemary reluctantly accepts, and when Jessicka asks to come with her, Rosemary refuses and hands her an hourglass while promising to leave for the Undead Realm armed, and says that when the sand runs out, she and James will be back. Rosemary and James then head into the Undead Realm.

Jonathan Gresham beats "Speedball" Mike Bailey with the Octopus.

Backstage, Sami Callihan asks Rich Swann for help with The Design (Deaner, Angels, Kon), saying he owes him one. Rich Swann says Sami has a history of picking up fights that he has a slim chance of winning, but Sami wants to know if Swann is going to help him or not.

In backstage footage during the break, Steve Maclin wants Scott D'Amore to take care of Rhino. D'Amore puts him in a match with Rhino with the IMPACT World Championship on the line next week.

Trinity makes her way to the ring. Trinity thanks the fans for the warm welcome and says it feels so good to be in an IMPACT ring and in a place where she can glow. She re-introduces herself as Trinity and announces that she has arrived in IMPACT Wrestling, and proclaims she has chosen IMPACT for its storied women's division and fierce competition, which she wants a piece of. Trinity not only wants to win championships, but she wants to win more, then warns the Knockouts Division to watch out because she is ready to shine. She says she came to IMPACT to make an impact and win the Knockouts World Championship, then "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo shows up. Purrazzo takes the invocation of her name as an opportunity to be the first to welcome Trinity to IMPACT and says Trinity has done her homework on how to make history, then warns her that when she steps in the ring with her, it is something she cannot just walk out on. Trinity tells Purrazzo that when she gets in the ring with her, she will wish she got fired again. Jordynne Grace then shows up and asks if it is hot in here or if it is just the heat between Trinity and Purrazzo, and reminds Purrazzo that they still have their rematch and that she does not plan to lose to her for a fourth time. She then tells Trinity that if she wants to fight Purrazzo, she can be her guest, but if she wants a title shot, she can come find her, because she will be champion after Under Siege. Trinity tells Purrazzo and Jordynne that they have business to settle at Under Siege and that she will be waiting, then tells whoever wins "Let's dance."

Here is tonight's post-show!
