Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for October 18, 2018

Johnny Impact shows up to start tonight's show. Johnny says that wrestling is a crazy business, then the fans chant "You deserve it!" He says that a kid, that craziness attracted him to professional wrestling, and while it was not the coolest thing to be into as a kid, he thought it was cool and got his dad to take him to wrestling shows at the Great Western Forum in Los Angeles, California. He says he was into weird stuff as a kid, such as breakdancing and parkour, but he is that kind of guy and if he wants something, he'll go for it. He was told that self-financing his own movie about a bounty hunter would not work, but it's now on Netflix and he is still proud of it even if he sees "in the dollar bin at Dollar General." He thought it would be cool to be on Survivor, so he did that, too. However, one thing that every kid who dreams of being a professional wrestler dreams of being a World champion, and while he has come close and has looked like a champion, but it wasn't always his night. He says he heard it so much he almost believed it, but now he is Impact Wrestling World Champion, and all the training, fighting and believing he has done has led to this and he believes that this business is what everyone makes it. He is now the guy at Impact Wrestling, and he will not be the guy who hides between two guys, politics out of business and makes passive-aggressive tweets due to not having what it takes, and if anyone deserves a shot at the title, he will give it to them. Suddenly, Fenix shows up and congratulates Johnny on winning the world title, then says that he has won championships around the world, but never in Impact Wrestling. He feels it would be an incredible opportunity to face Johnny for the world title, and challenges him to a World title match next week. Johnny says that was a pretty convenient time because he could not say all that he said and say no, but he promises that the match will be a fight and that if it happens to be Fenix's night, he will shake his hand, as they are both friends and professionals. He says that next week, they will tear the house down, because that is what they do.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Tommy Dreamer. He says to expect the unexpected, and while Moose may be one of the greatest to go from NFL to professional wrestling, he always wants to take a shortcut to success and lost at Bound For Glory. He also says he saw the beatdown given to Eddie Edwards and felt the pain in Eddie's back that he has felt throughout his entire life. He tells Moose to expect him to beat his ass and wrap a steel chair around his head like he hasn't done in a long time, as he has never been politically correct and he is "damn proud of it."

We see footage of Moose and Killer Kross outside of the arena, where they are interviewed by Mackenzie Mitchell. As Moose talks about his custom-made Shaolin monk suit, he tells Tommy Dreamer that the chants have gotten to his head. Killer Kross cuts him off, and says that Dreamer thinks he is control, saying he may be "The innovator of Violence," but he is not the arbitrator of all decisions. He says that Moose does not accept because he does not have to. Instead, the two of them accept his challenge, and chalks up Dreamer's lack of fear to brain damage that is about to get worse tonight.

Taya Valkyrie beats Katarina. After the match, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Taya in the ring. Taya says her match with Tessa Blanchard was all about humbling Tessa Blanchard, saying that Tessa resorting to the tactics she used at Bound For Glory disrespected her, and while she used to respect Tessa Blanchard, she does not respect her anymore.

Backstage, "Reborn" Matt Sydal is glad Ethan Page has joined him, as they are on a path to transcendence and enlightenment and to show the world a little of what they are here to enjoy. They are here to open hearts, minds and thir eyes, but sometimes the pain is fraught with suffering, and at Bound For Glory, they suffered defeat. Ethan Page says that he has suffered worse, but ever since meeting Sydal, he has become more in tune with himself, and together, they are almost one mind. Sydal says that suffering leads to growth, and tonight, Ethan Page can reveal what growth he has achieved when he faces Trevor Lee and shows him how to open his third eye and see his path to transcendence. Page says that he will make Trevor Lee suffer too, and Sydal responds by saying that pain is universal.

Outside the arena, Gama Singh hits Hakim Zane with a broom again. He tells Hakim has passed the first test, and that he has the ultimate test to pass next: a match against Gama Singh himself. He gives him seven days to prepare.

Ethan Page beats Trevor Lee.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Rich Swann and Willie Mack. Swann says this week has been a roller coaster week since they beat "Reborn" Matt Sydal and Ethan Page after "Mack mode" showed them what was up. Willie Mack says that as soon as he got the call to take out some "enlightened jokers," they got the job done, but tonight, Swann is on his own, but he knows he can win the X Division title. Swann says the X Division title is within his reach, and while "The Machine" Brian Cage is a machine, he has charisma, athleticism and raw talent that will not be held down when Cage gets the fight of his life tonight.

Impact Wrestling will be at Sam's Town in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 11-13th!

Backstage, Kiera Hogan meets with Allie, who pretends that nothing is wrong while saying she has a match tonight. Kiera tells Hogan she has her back.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the week is Eric Young beating Magnus for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship on April 10, 2014.

Backstage, "The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams is met by "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bourdeaux, and asks when the talent search will be over. She says that Petey is good, but so are so many other people, and her talent search is not just limited to the other wrestlers, but to everyone, including the fans. She is holding her first viewing party, and to send her a video and try again.

Killer Kross beats Tommy Dreamer by referee stoppage after two Doomsday Saito suplexes. After the match, Moose and Kros stmp Dreamer before Kross puts Dreamer in the Kross Jacket so that Moose can hit Dreamer with the Spear. Referees then check on Dreamer.

We see footage from Abyss' Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame induction ceremony.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Eli Drake. Eli says he looks back on Bound For Glory and sees a conspiracy where everybody wants a piece of him and a man who is not part of the company wants to swing a steel chair at him. He is also not happy with Abyss putting him through the table, then says Impact Wrestling has become an unsafe working environment, using the Concrete Jungle Street Fight between The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz) and The OG'z (King, Homicide, Hernandez) as an example. He says he does not want to be here and needs to protect himself, and that he will be suing Impact Wrestling for an unsafe work environment.

We see The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz) in a bar celebrating the end of The OG'z (King, Homicide, Hernandez). All of a sudden, The OG'z shows up to deliver a message to Konnan. They had a meeting wtih the bosses, who were kind enough to let The OG'z keep a piece of New York on the condition that both factions stay on their respective side. Konnan tells King to get out, since he is not on his respective side, then leave so that LAX can get back to guzzling down shots at the bar.

Next week: Impact Wrestling moves to 10 PM Eastern/9 PM Central on Pop TV!

Allie beats Alisha Edwards. During the match, Allie's behavior becomes more disturbing, as she goes from happy and cheerful to disturbing and demonic. After the match, Allie continues to attack Alisha Edwards, and Kiera Hogan has to run into the ring to snap Allie out of her trance. Allie checks on Alisha Edwards, but Alisha Edwards wants away from Allie as the crowd chants "Psycho Allie."

Jordynne Grace is coming soon!

"The Machine" Brian Cage retains the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship against Rich Swann. After the match, Sami Callihan shows up and replays the footage of how he pinned Cage at Bound For Glory after Cage received multiple stomps to the head. Sami hits Cage with a cheap shot, then tries to hit Cage with the X Division title only to be leveled with a clothesline. Jake Crist and Dave Crist then show up to make the save for Sami Callihan, but Jake Crist eats a Drill Claw as Dave Crist retreats. Sami Callihan and Dave Crist have to drag Jake Crist to the back.
