Final Impact - GFW Impact Wrestling recap for August 10, 2017

The show starts with a brawl between the team of Santana and Ortiz of The Latin-American Xchange and The Veterans of War (Mayweather and Wilcox) outside of the building.

Sienna is seated in the center of the ring. She calls herself the epitomy of a true champion, and says she has destroyed every obstacle Karen Jarrett has thrown at her. She says she will sit in the ring until she finds out who her opponent for her Knockouts title defense next week is. Karen shows up and says she never liked her and never will. Karen goes on to call Sienna the kind of woman other women hate. Sienna skips the formalities and wants to know who would be ready for her in a week, but Karen tells her that her opponent next week is always ready, and it happens to be Gail Kim. Gail says she sees Sienna running her mouth, and tells her she was only great six weeks ago. After Gail makes it clear she will retire as champion, Sienna strikes at Gail from behind, and this starts a brawl that referees have to stop.

Joseph Park tells Grado it's time to buck up in their handicap match tonight.

It is announced that LAX versus Veterans of War for the tag team titles is now a Street Fight.

El Hijo del Fantasma and Naomichi Marufuji beat Laredo Kid and Garza Jr.

Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Trevor Lee, Low-Ki and Lashley. Trevor Lee says he will show Sonjay Dutt who the real champion is. Low-Ki tells Alberto El Patron he had an opportunity, but wasted it and paid the price. He says he will show him that he can be beaten. Lashley tells Matt Sydal he is in the ring tonight with some heavy hitters, and tells him he has been warned. He then tells Lee and Low-Ki they are associates, not partners.

We hear from Sonjay Dutt and Trevor Lee before their match at Destination X next week.

We hear from Jeff Jarrett concerning America's Top Team.

Dutch Mantell interviews Matt Sydal and Lashley for "Down and Dirty with Dutch." Lashley says he did not disrespect anybody, he merely reacted. He considers himself a "top 3 wrestler." Sydal says he has never put himself in one particular category, and does not rate himself as an X Division wrestler. Sydal says that just like Lashley, his resume speaks for himself, as he has faced giants. He rates himself within the top 3. Lashley and Sydal argue. Lashley says he will beat Sydal within an inch of life. Sydal says he comes in peace, but also to win. Lashley says he is tired of people stepping up, and if Sydal has a problem with him, he should step up. This leads to a near-brawl.

It is announced that Bruce Prichard will make an announcement that will affect Impact Wrestling next week. This is following footage of a private conversation from Prichard and Karen Jarrett from last week.

The Latin-American XChange show up. Last week, Konnan promised a new soldier in LAX, and introduces that new soldier: Alberto El Patron. El Patron shows up, and wants to know what Konnan is doing, as they have both friends for years. He then says Konnan did not even ask El Patron if he wanted to join. El Patron says he is a leader, not a follower. Konnan asks El Patron if he has forgotten the problems he had with WWE and the problems he himself had with TNA, and asks him to join. El Patron says he has not forgotten, and thinks about it every day, but it is in the past and he is in a better place with better opportunities. El Patron tells Konnan his problem is that he has become a bitter man. As for himself, he will stay a loner. El Patron tells Konnan his problem is that he has become a bitter man. As for himself, he will stay a loner. Konnan tells El Patron that he is no longer alone, and that LAX is his family. All he has to do is say yes. El Patron tells him "The answer is no, you son of a bitch!" Konnan then sics LAX on El Patron. Suddenly, Lashley rushes into the ring and fights off all of LAX by himself, saving El Patron. Lashley then hands one of the world titles to El Patron and leaves.

We get a closer look at ACH, who plans to springboard his career with the Super X Cup.

We get a closer look at Andrew Everett, who wants to win the Super X Cup to get one step closer to the X Division Championship.

ACH beats Andrew Everett to continue to the second round of the Super X Cup Tournament.

Jeremy Borash introduces Gail Kim back to Impact Wrestling. She says that she has been so grateful with the most talented, respected people in the business and travel the world to perform for millions of fans, and has given his soul, mind and body to wrestling, and does not regret it. She announces that at the end of 2017, she will officially be retiring from the ring. She thanks the women of the Knockouts division that she has worked with through the years, and thanks everyone in the company for allowing her to be her. She says that this is not the end, and that she plans to go out on top in Impact Wrestling.

Chris Adonis shows up, and messes with the two stars of Swole Mates, Andya Velcich and Freddie Hardy. Both men get in, and this starts a pose-down between the stars of Swole Mates and Chris Adonis. Adonis gets physical with one guy, but the other one confronts him. Eli Drake shows up and tells Adonis to head back to the back, and referees show up to restore order before this gets worse.

Octagoncito beats Demus.

Joseph Park has to get Grado fired up to ask a Knockout for their hand in marriage, but he has no luck, especially with Allie when Braxton Sutter is seeing what is going on. The huge stretching man from last week is in the background. Park hands Grado some champagne and chocolate, as he has an idea.

Matt Sydal talks about his early days in Impact Wrestling.

Ethan Carter III shows up and guests on commentary for the next match.

The Latin-American Xchange talk about El Patron outside of the arena. Konnan says Alberto El Patron should stop pandering to the fans, and realize that LAX is his family. He then tells LAX to show some tough love and send a message by putting El Patron in the hospital.

Before the next match, Trevor Lee - with the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship around his waist - says he has decided to become the fighting champion the X Division deserves. He has looked far and wide for an opponent to defend the title against...and finds William Weeks. He plans to be a real champion, unlike Sonjay Dutt, and tells the referee not to put the belt on the ground or else someone will steal it. William Weeks attacks Trevor Lee form behind, and the match begins. We then see footage of Sonjay Dutt being taken out of the building by security.

Trevor Lee beats William Weeks. After the match, Sonjay Dutt shows up through the crowd and goes after Trevor Lee to get the Impact Wrestling X Division Championship back, but falls just short and Trevor Lee makes it up the entrance ramp with the title still in his possession.

Laurel Van Ness beats Ava Storie, then Grado shows up with Joseph Park. Grado introduces himself to Laurel, then butters her up. He then asks her out, but before Laurel can answer, Kongo Kong shows up, and Grado and Joseph Park have enough sense to get out of the ring.

Alberto El Patron and Lashley beat LAX (Santana and Ortiz). After the match, both Lashley and El Patron show respect to each other, and as Lashley leaves, El Patron tells Lashley they make a great team. As he says this, he is attacked from behind by LAX (Konnan, Santan, Ortiz, Homicide, Diamante), and this time, Lashley just smiles and refuses to help El Patron. Konnan tells El Patron that if he turns his back on him, this is what he gets, and LAX hold El Patron down and drape his face with the Puerto Rican flag to end the show.

Donovan Dijak beats Danny Miles. After the match, Prince Nana says in the last pay-per-view, he did not quit and says he will never quick, and says that Dijak is quintessential example of what an athlete should be from top to bottom. He says that he thinks of Christopher Daniels when he thinks of what a legacy is, as he has given everything he has to professional wrestling. He calls it an honor and privilege to do that as both a tag team partner and a friend. For now, it is a time to retreat, but not to surrender, as they plan to become the best team in ROH history. They plan to heal as a team rather than die as individuals, and leave the ring. The Briscoes say they're here to fight, and call out The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), telling them to bring the ROH tag titles out so they can go at it.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), "Hangman" Adam Page and Adam Cole show up after the commercial break. Cole says that Bullet Club is the new sheriff in town, and that The Briscoes won't be fighting the Bucks tonight. Mark then tells Cole and Page to get in the ring. After they tease leaving, they get in the ring.

The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) beat "Hangman" Adam Page and Adam Cole by disqualification after Cole hits Jay with the World title. After the match, Page and Cole attack The Briscoes along with The Young Bucks until reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) make the save.

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for July 9, 2016

Donovan Dijak beats Jason Kincaid.

ACH says that the crowd is his track on repeat, and that everything he's been through are the lyrics. The only way to complete the song is to win the World Television Championship, and he'll have to get through Mark Briscoe to become #1 contender.

Before the next match, The Addiction ("The Almighty" Christopher Daniels and "The Heavy Metal Rebel" Frankie Kazarian) promise that they will retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships.

Mark Briscoe tells ACH that he's a good athlete, but there's a difference between natural athletics and destiny. He's no stranger to gold now that he's one-half of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, and now he wants some singles gold in ROH.

The Addiction ("The Almighty" Christopher Daniels and "The Heavy Metal Rebel" Frankie Kazarian) retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships against "The Last Real Man" Silas Young and The Beer City Bruiser.

Kyle O'Reilly respects Jay Lethal for taking him seriously as a competitor and never ducking him, and once again they square off for the World title. This time, they'll both find out who the best in the world really is.

Bobby Fish is in the ring for a special live version of The Fish Tank. Fish brags about being ROH World Television Champion, but today isn't all about him. It's about his two special guests who are fighting each other for a shot at this title: ACH and Mark Briscoe. ACH shows up first, followed by Briscoe. Briscoe tries to figure out what "ACH" means, and comes up with wild guesses such as "A Child Hero," "Acrobatic Cat-Like Horseman" and "Ass Cheeks Hughes." ACH cuts in and says that the main difference between him and Briscoe is that Briscoe has a legacy and that he does not, and he has to get through both Briscoe and Fish to start his before telling him "ACH" stands for "Annihilating Chickens' Hopes." Both men are ready to fish, and Fish cuts The Fish Tank short so that he doesn't get roughed up.

The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) show up. Christopher Daniels claims that everything is right in the world as they are once again ROH World Tag Team Champions of the World. They claim that they are better than basically every other tag team in ROH, and even go so far as to claim that they have never been beaten and that they are the undisputed, undefeated champions. Chris Sabin shows up and calls The Addiction "sad middle-aged douchebags" before making a male-pattern baldness joke and reminding them that The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) have beaten them twice as of late, and challenge them to a match for the tag team titles. Suddenly, Roppongi Vice (Trent Baretta and Rocky Romero) show up and say that you can't have a party without them. Trent Barretta calls Daniels "old," which gets Daniels mad, who accepts the challenge and says that if either team beats them, they get a shot at the tag team titles at Best in the World.

The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) beat The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) and Roppongi Vice (Trent Barretta and Rocky Romero) in a three-way tag team match to earn a title shot against The Addiction at Best in the World.

Roderick Strong wants to know if he's offended Jay Briscoe, as every time Briscoe says his name, it sounds like he has. Strong says he should be the offended one, as he has carried this company for so long and Briscoe "ran back to the chicken farm and licked [his] wounds" when the company needed him most. He calls Briscoe a great tag team wrestler and a very mediocre singles wrestler, and he will remind him of that and the fact that he is the best to ever step in an ROH ring.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and Adam Cole talk about their Global Wars superkick party, and Cole welcomes ROH to their world. He says that they will break every rule and that there is nothing ROH can do to stop them, as they own ROH and the chaos has just begun.

He says the contents of his envelopes are for him to know and the fans to find out, and that Donovan Dijak will be the next ROH World Champion. Dijak says he's only had one real purpose in Ring of Honor: protecting Jay Lethal and his House of Truth (Lethal, Truth Martini, Taeler Hendrix, Joey Daddiego). He then takes the Jay Lethal shirt off and tosses it aside. As he continues to speak, Lethal and Taler Hendrix show up. Lethal and Dijak brawl, and officials quickly scramble to the ring to break the match up.

Jonathan Gresh tells Veda Scott to get out.

BJ Whitmer quickly beats Chase Brown, and further attacks Brown after the match before taking the microphone. Before he can speak, Steve Corino shows up. BJ Whitmer says he's sick and tired of keeping Corino relevant, and calls out Adam Page. Page shows up, all right: he attacks Whitmer from behind and easily overpowers him. Officlas have to get into the ring and break this brawl up.

Dalton Castle says that "The Last Real Man" Silas Young has no idea who The Boys are...but he does.

It's time for story time with Adam Cole, who finally has his rematch for the ROH World Championship. Once again, he says that Kyle O'Reilly is not deserving of a shot at the World title and should not even be near the title. As for Jay Lethal, he says Lethal is shaking in his boots because he has never defending against him and that he will not like the outcome if he does. He plans to win the ROH World Championship at The 14th Anniversary Show. Jay Lethal, Truth Martini and Taeler Hendrix show up. Lethal says Kyle O'Reilly is "a good kid" who have never won the ROH World Championship, and that Cole has held it in the past while he himself holds it now, so they might as well make it so that the adults take care of this one. He tells Cole that he will prove how "The House" always wins, then proposes they finish the job tonight. Suddenly, Kyle O'Reilly shows up, grabs a microphone, then kicks Lethal and fights Adam Cole. Lethal attacks O'Reilly only to eat a Cole super-kick. O'Reilly hits the brainbuster on Cole, and he stands tall with the ROH World Championship in his hands.
