Generation NXT - NXT recap for May 6, 2025

DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Osiris Griffin) beat Hank Walker, Tank Ledger and Joe Hendry in a six-man tag match after Trick Williams pulls Joe Hendry out of the ring and both men brawl their way to the back.

Backstage, Karmen Petrovic and Thea Hail talk about surviving in the women's division when Jaida Parker shows up and verbally tears them down. Karmen mentions Jaida choking in a recent opportunity, and Jaida takes this as a challenge for later tonight.

Backstage, Charlie Dempsey talks to the rest of the No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne, Tavion Heights, Wren Sinclair), stating that tonight, they are three individuals with one goal of getting closer to the NXT Championship. Myles and Tavion are hyped up to compete for this opportunity.

Zaria beats Kelani Jordan after shoving Kelani into Sol Ruca, who awkwardly lets go of Kelani only for Zaria to blast Kelani through the barricade.

Backstage, Tony D'Angelo is met by Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont. Tony says Wes knows something about backstabbing, and Wes says that D'Angelo is not in the battle royal because without his family, he is scared. D'Angelo dares Wes to take a shot, but Wes says he has a battle royal to win.

Backstage, Lola Vice speaks with Stephanie Vaquer, saying that if anyone can walk can through hell and back and keep the NXT Women's Championship, it is Stephanie. Stephanie Vaquer says nothing could have prepared her for the being on top of NXT, and Lola says that whoever wins at Battleground, she will be waiting on the other side with her opportunity. Giulia shows up and says she has not forgotten, and says she will see Stephanie at Battleground.

Myles Borne last eliminates Shawn Spears and "All Ego" Ethan Page simultaneously to win the NXT Championship #1 Contender's Battle Royal to face Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at Battleground. Before the match, Elijah (fka Elias) makes his return to NXT for the first time in eight years. During the match, Trick Williams is eliminated by Elijah after Joe Hendry shows up and distracts Trick, and afterwards, Joe Hendry and Trick Williams brawl their way to the back again.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne Grace says that she and Giulia fought their way out of the arena, but now she has to beat her, as she has the power advantage. Izzi Dame and Lash Legend show up wanting a piece of Jordynne, and Jordynne says that she will see them both on the other side.

Jaida Parker beats Karmen Petrovic. After the match, Jaida attacks Karmen again, and when Thea Hail shows up, Jaida takes her down. Jaida retreats after nearly avoiding getting kicked in the head by Karmen.

Backstage, General Manager Ava meets with Joe Hendry, saying that it must end between Hendry and Trick Williams. Ava announces that at Battleground, Hendry and Trick will square off for the TNA World Championship, and that the contract signing for the match will be next week.

We see a vignette for OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price). Lucien says that they had no patience or control and that they had to let the noise die down. Bronco says that now that they are up and coming back, they are here to dominate the tag team division.

Backstage, Wes Lee, Tyriek Igwe and Tyson Dupont make a phone call, and Wes Lee, with Wes Lee stating afterwards "Everybody has a price." Meanwhile, Josh Briggs talks with Yoshiki Inamura. Inamura apologizes and says he is going to back to Japan, and wishes he could have been a better partner, and hands his leather jacket back to him. The Culling shows up, and Brooks Jensen shows up and tells Briggs that the problem has always been him.

Backstage, No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, Tavion Heights, Wren Sinclair) meets, and Charlie Dempsey tells Myles Borne to get him ready for Oba Femi at Battleground, even though Myles won the battle royal. Oba Femi shows up and says he looks forward to facing Myles Borne, who then gets Dempsey in trouble with Oba Fem, and this gets to the point that a match between Oba and Dempsey will happen next week. Myles says that if Dempsey wins, it could be a Triple Threat Match, but Oba says he is done with Triple Threats, then says he will see Dempsey next week. Dempsey is not exactly thrilled with this outcome.

Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors have Andre Chase try on some new Chase University outfits. After trying on a new jacket, Chase finds something that works in a full-on track suit.

Jordynne Grace beats Giulia to become #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship at Battleground. After the match, Stephanie Vaquer shows up and has a staredown with Jordynne to end the show.
