Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for September 28, 2021

Hit Row (Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Ashante "Thee" Adonis, Top Dolla, B-Fab) head to the ring to start tonight's show. Ashante "Thee" Adonis says tonight is all about the ladies, and says it is a honor and a gift to be in the ladies' presence as he also hypes up the NXT Women's Championship match betweeen Franky Monet and Raquel Gonzalez, saying today is the ladies' day. Top Dolla also mentions the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship match between Toxic Attraction and the team of Zoey Stark and Io Shirai, then Swerve says his title is not on the line because nobody is going after it like Santos Escobar. Top Dolla also mentions the NXT Cruiserweight Championship match between Grayson Waller and Roderick Strong, then B-Fab says the spotlight will be on her when she beats Elektra Lopez like she owes her money. Elektra Lopez then shows up with the rest of Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza) as B-Fab says that Elektra is big but not bad, and that she will be "big mad" when she gets in the ring with her.

Elektra Lopez beats B-Fab in a no-disqualification match. During the match, the rest of Hit Row (Isaiah "Swerve" Scott, Ashante "Thee" Adonis, Top Dolla) and the rest of Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza) are ejected from ringside when they all brawl with each other on the outside.

We see some footage of Indi Hartwell and Dexter Lumis' honeymoon where the two of them spend time on the beach. Meanwhile, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae spy on them from the balcony. When Dexter and Indi head to the ocean, Gargano scares them off by disguising himself as a shark.

Joe Gacy is in the ring. Gacy says that contrary to popular opinion, the ring is still a safe space. He says that last week, he made a huge impact, and he has not been cancelled. He says he has made a bigger impact than Superstars like Tommaso Ciampa, Roderick Strong and Bron Breakker using only his words. He says he did not have to throw one single punch, as he speaks for a generation that nobody understands except for "the enlightened ones." He says everyone else lives in a "darkened, obsolete world," and when he went back to the locker room, he saw nothing but "triggered" faces, and says that he is nothing but inclusive and that conflicts can be resolved with discussion and not violence. He says that while one person can change the world, he is here to introduce "a new normal," and thanks the crowd for their open minds before Xyon Quinn shows up for the next match.

Xyon Quinn beats Oney Lorcan.

We hear from Grayson Waller, who says that he is a thriller junkie who surfs, snowboards and parachutes. He says he saw his opportunity last week and took it, and now his first singles match is for the Cruiserweight Championship and everyone will know his name.

MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) head to the ring. After the match, Samantha Irving interviews MSK. Nash Carter says they will keep smoking the tag team division and that they are not content, and Wes Lee says they will continue to be the fighting champions they promised they would be. Both of them agree that all the teams can step up and get knocked back, then Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) show up. James Drake questions their claims of being fighting champions and wants to know where their opportunity is. Zack Gibson says that their reign means nothing until they face them, then Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams show up. Carmelo says he might as well be mentioned in the conversation, and he and Trick Williams tease going for the tag team titles. Zack Gibson says the line starts behind him and James Drake, then Nash Carter tells Grizzled Young Veterans to shut up before Wes Lee dares Carmelo Hayes to use his contract and find out quickly what he and Trick are up against. As Wes Lee says he and Carter are the better team and Zack Gibson fails to understand slang, Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs show up only for Trick Williams to mouth off at them. Jensen punches Trick in the mouth, and this starts a brawl between the team of Carmelo and Trick, the team of Jensen and Briggs and the team of Grizzled Young Veterans.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Raquel Gonzalez, who says that while Franky Monet is a good opponent, she is not overlooking her and she will be another name on a list of who she's beaten. As she speaks, Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) shows up, and Mandy Rose says the women's title looks a lot better on her than on Raquel.

Io Shirai and Zoey Stark retain the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships against Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne).

We see a video package for Bron Breakker. Breakker says that for the last two weeks, he feels like he has been shot out of a cannon, and he is not here to make friends; he is here to become NXT Champion and he is not a patient guy.

Tommaso Ciampa is interviewed virtually via FaceTime. He says that he hears Bron Breakker loud and clear and that it took 908 days to get the title that he never lost back, and that nobody has beaten him for it before and nobody will be doing it now. He says that when Breakker faces him for the NXT Championship, he will drown in an ocean of experience.

Boa beats Andre Chase after a livid Chase yells at Mei Ying only for Mei Ying to blow smoke into his face.

We see Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell on their honeymoon again. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae soon realize they will be back in their room, then somehow makes his way in the room thanks to the cleaning lady. As Gargano looks around - and notices a whole load of condoms in the suitcase - he notices Indi and Dexter have entered the room and hides. Indi and Dexter have a pillow fight, but it sounds like they are having sex. When Gargano leaves, Dexter notices him and gives him the thumbs up before showing the condoms.

Roderick Strong retains the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against Grayson Waller.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews LA Knight, who says he is the uncrowned NXT Champion and that he will not let Odyssey Jones trash talk him. Odyssey Jones shows up and says LA Knight has never seen anyone like him. When Andre Chase shows up angry about his loss saying that it should have been a disqualification, LA Knights attacks a distracted Odyssey Jones, says he has seen men like him before and that he will see him down on the mat next week.

We hear from Dante Chen, who says he represents the spirit of Singapore and its people, and that he plans to make his own path and that his journey has just begun.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Cora Jade and Trey Baxter. On the subject of her debut match next week, Cora Jade says that she is excited for the future and hopes that she will soon make NXT "The Generation of Jade," then Trey Baxter tells her that she will do better than he did last week. The two of them then kiss again.

It's time for Lashing Out With Lash Legend. Lash Legends mentions the WWE Draft starting soon and mentions her record of 27 rebounds in a single WNBA game that earned her a draft spot. She mentions Cora Jade kissing Trey Baxter, then tells her to get a real man that looks like Ikemen Jiro. As for the "Lash Out of the Week," it goes to Andre Chase for going off on his students and says she would whup him if he did that to her.

Pete Dunne and Ridge Holland attack and brawl with Kyle O'Reilly before the start of the next match, and referees have to quickly step in.

Kyle O'Reilly beats Ridge Holland after sending Ridge Holland into Pete Dunne, knocking him off the ring apron before stacking Ridge Holland up for the win. After the match, Ridge Holland and Pete Dunne attack Kyle O'Reilly, then Von Wagner shows up and makes the save for O'Reilly again, fighting both Ridge adnd Dunne alongside O'Reilly.

We hear from Tony D'Angelo. He says the docks here represents the transportation of items and how his uncle makes sure that nobody takes too much off the top, or else he gets a call. He calls this a tradition, and says the tradition will continue. Tony D'Angelo debuts next week.

Raquel Gonzalez retains the NXT Women's Championship against Franky Monet. After the match, Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) shows up, attack Franky, Robert Stone and Jessi Kamea from behind, then surround the ring. Raquel fights them, but the numbers game catches up to her and Mandy Rose knees her in the face. Mandy Rose then raises the NXT Women's Championship as Toxic Attraction stands before a downed Raquel to end the show.
