Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for September 16, 2021

Noam Dar beats Kenny Williams two falls to one (2-1) to advance to the finals of the NXT UK Heritage Cup #1 Contender's Tournament. Kenny Williams scores the first fall with 37 seconds left in Round 2 with a schoolkid pin after feigning an injury. Noam Dar scores the second fall with 1:34 (one minute, thirty-four seconds) left with the knee bar. During Round 4, as Kenny Williams exposes turnbuckles, Noam Dar grabs Williams' water bottle. When Williams notices the water bottle is missing, Noam Dar tosses it to him as the referee repositions the turnbuckle covers, then feigns being hit with the bottle. As the referee yells at Williams, Noam Dar gets Williams in the knee bar to get the fall. Noam Dar scores the third and deciding fall with 33 seconds left in Round 5 after Sha Samuels grabs Kenny Williams' foot from underneath the ring as Kenny Williams gets back in the ring, allowing Noam Dar to hit the low enzuigiri and the Nova Roller for the win.

Jordan Devlin mockingly wishes Joe and Mark Coffey good luck in their tag team title match tonight.

Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala is in the ring. He says there has been a monumental shift in the course of NXT UK's history after Walter's reign as NXT UK Champion came to an end. He then introduces Ilja Dragunov, who is seen on the video screen. Dragunov says that for the first time in a long time, he is happy and honored. He says that by looking into his eyes, one can see he has been in a path full of struggle and enormous pain, and that he made the impossible possible and stuck to his words with a mentally that is close to being absolutely invincible, and now, he is NXT UK Champion. Dragunov says he looks forward to coming back to the UK as a champion, and the one question that he has in his mind is who will try to take the championship away from him. Suddenly, Nathan Frazer shows up, and says that he usually doesn't do this, but in the name of using initiative, he asks Sid Scala to make him the first challenger to the NXT UK Championship. Suddenly, Rampage Brown shows up and says that the world has seen what he has done to Joe Coffey and that he knows how violent Dragunov can be, and if anyone is getting a shot, it is going to be him. Suddenly, A-Kid shows up and apologizes for interrupting before saying that if anyone deserves a chance at Dragunov and the NXT UK Championship, it is him, for Dragunov pushed him to his limits and made him realize that his limit does not exist. He then says that he appreciates Nathan Frazer's initiative and Rampage Brown's violence, and if he has to go through either of them, he will do it. Sid Scala sets up a Triple Threat Match between the three of them with the winner earning a match against Ilja Dragunov for the NXT UK Championship. Dragunov, who is now back on the video screen, says this is a wonderful idea. Afterwards, Brown brushes up against Frazer on his way out of the ring, and when Frazer confronts him for it, Rampage Brown lays out both Frazer and A-Kid.

Backstage, Jinny and Joseph Williams find Isla Dawn in Jinny's dressing room. When Isla Dawn leaves, they find an upside-down five point star drawn on the mirror.

In backstage footage from during the break, we hear from Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven). Trent says NXT UK is on fire right now, and Tyler Bate is keeping track on both the NXT UK and Heritage Cup Championship scenes. Trent Seven says that he is paying attention to tonight's NXT UK Tag Team Championship match and that Tyler Bate need the NXT UK tag team titles around their waists.

Emilia McKenzie beats Stevie Turner.

We hear from Wolfgang and Teoman. Teoman says that there is one thing he learned on the streets of Berlin: you have to find the best, the biggest and the strongest to become "the Babo." Wolfgang says Teoman has made a name for himself and that he has kept an eye on him, and that he does it for a family of his own - his brothers in Gallus, Joe and Mark Coffey - much like Teoman does it for his family. Teoman says he is not to be joked about, and Wolfgang says that if Teoman keeps his family backstage, he will keep the Coffey brothers backstage. Teoman says that he sees everything, and Wolfgang wants to see if they can see "eye-to-eye."

We hear from Charlie Dempsey, who says that the body is much like a ladder and that when he heard that, something clicked in his head and he went to train with the British legends of wrestling to create his wrestling style. He says he will not do any flips like in an acrobatic contest and that he will take his opponents and grind them down to show the fans something they have never seen before. Charlie Dempsey is coming soon to NXT UK. (Charlie Dempsey previously appeared in February under the name Bailey Matthews.)

It is revealed that during the commercial break, the suspended Blair Davenport attacked Stevie Turner from behind. Davenport then tells Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala that bad things will happen, and tells Scala to reinstate her.

Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley) retain the NXT UK Tag Team Championships against Gallus (Joe and Mark Coffey).
