After Dark - AEW Dark recap for November 17, 2020

The Gunn Club (Billy, Austin and Colten Gunn) beat BSHP King, Joey O'Riley and Sean Maluta. (This match is notable for being Colten Gunn's debut professional wrestling match.) After the match, Lance Archer shows up with Jake "The Snake" Roberts and choke slams O'Riley into his teammates. Roberts recites The Lord's Prayer, then says that while The Lord may take one's soul, one's ass belongs to Lance Archer. He says a fool would jump into a volcano, jump off a high building or face Lance Archer, then says there are some things you don't do and that Lance Archer is one. Archer says life and death are touchy subjects in 2020, and says Life asked Death "Why do people hate you but love me?" only for Death to say "Because you are the beautiful lie and I am the painful truth." Archer says this will keep happening every week until AEW realizes that what he does is more dangerous than what anybody else can do. After saying that the goal of life is death and that Sigmund Freud said this way before he did, and that while everybody will die, all he has to do is be last, and until then, he will lay everybody AEW down to sleep.

Anthony Ogogo guests on commentary for the next two matches.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks beats Travis Titan.

"The Bad Boy" Joey Janela beats Marko Stunt with a top rope avalanche Cradle Shock. Everyone checks in on Marko Stunt after the match. Marko Stunt is okay.

It's time for the debut edition of The Waiting Room with Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. as host. After mentioning the recent AEW Games special announcement, she talks about Eddie Kingston losing to Jon Moxley at Full Gear and asked what could have happened if Kingston prepared for the match as much as he worked on his eyebrows. Baker then congratulates The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) for winning the AEW World Tag Team Championships, then says Tully Blanchard was banned from ringside for no reason before advertising their new book. Baker then mentions "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes losing the AEW TNT Championship to Darby Allin, then says the network executives are making a new title for Cody, joking that it will probably be the "Cartoon Network title." She then tells everyone in the audience to check under their seat for a special gift from her, then says there is nothing underneath the chairs before saying that life is not fair and that her next two guests have not been treated fairly, as they are not even ranked: TheHybrid2 (Angelico and Jack Evans). Angelico says TheHybrid2 will make a physical statement - even though Evans says it will be a verbal statement as well - and says they have watched as The Young Bucks have turned the tag team division into a vanity project. They both joke about how long how they have been on Dynamite, then Jack Evans states that the jackass political posturing of AEW will no longer be tolerated and that it is time to give all the other teams what they deserve, starting with SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian).

Frankie Kazarian beats Griff Garrison.

Penelope Ford beats Rahne Victoria.

Brandon Cutler beats Ryzin, much to the chagrin of "Pretty" Peter Avalon, who is on a small, red velvet mattress on the floor behind the barricade.

Leyla Hirsch beats Tesha Price with a cross arm breaker.

Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) beat TNT (Terrence and Terrell Hughes) by submission.

The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowen) beat D3 and Angel Fashion.

Ivelisse beats Alex Gracia.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks guests on commentary for the next two matches.

Thunder Rosa beats Lindsay Snow.

"Pretty" Peter Avalon takes a woman to the riverfront. When he insists on feeding her a sausage and Corn Nuts, it becomes obvious that the vehicle is a rideshare vehicle when the driver tells Avalon to get out. Avalon leaves the car, threatening to give the driver one star.

Big Swole beats KiLynn King with a Texas Cloverleaf.

Darby Allin gets in the ring and dares "Absolute" Ricky Starks to get in the ring with him. Starks heads towards the ring, but "The Machine" Brian Cage joins Starks on the stage. Cage and Starks heads towards the ring, but "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes shows up and strikes Cage with a chair. Darby then attacks Starks in the ring, and Starks soon retreats with Cage.

Jack Evans beats "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels with a bridge pin after Angelico nearly trips Daniels from the outside.
