Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for November 20, 2020

The show starts with The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) plugging Survivor Series. When Montez Ford mentions The Undertaker, Big E pops up in a sombrero. As Street Profits joke about beating The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods), Big E sings The New Day's praises. The Street Profits state that they will beat The New Day at Survivor Series, then Big E tells The Street Profits that they don't have to prove it to him, as The New Day are here tonight.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) show up. Woods says they have shown up to see if there are "any giant fists popping up," and Kofi says they are here to give fans of the show something to talk about. Kofi says that The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) are not to be blamed for talking about "passing the torch," but says that they want the smoke, but do not want their fire. Woods says The Street Profits would be dead men if they did, then bring up The Undertaker's Survivor Series farewell with their best Undertaker impressions. Suddenly, Sami Zayn shows up. Sami says it is only The Undertaker's farewell because he owes him some revenge and WWE is allowing him to take the coward's way out, then says that WWE would do anything to protect Bobby Lashley, even though nothing can protect Lashley from him. After Sami says he will beat Bobby Lashley at Survivor Series and prove he is the better champion, he tells The New Day to stop talking about The Undertaker and start talking about him. As The New Day give Sami backhanded compliments, saying he looks like "a deadbeat dad who just made his first down payment," King Corbin shows up and tells The New Day that they do not belong here. As Woods says The New Day are just visiting as Raw Superstars, Baron Corbin tells them they have to go, then Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode show up. Ziggler also tells The New Day to leave, as their trading tag team titles with The Street Profits cost him and Roode an opportunity, and Roode says they would have been tag team champions if they faced The New Day again. Kofi decides to have a tag team championship match, but he and Woods give it a twist and proposes Sami Zayn and King Corbin also team up. Corbin and Sami are hesitant, but Woods proposes both teams face each other instead with the winner facing them. Ziggler and Roode confront Sami and Corbin, but turn on The New Day, then The Street Profits show up and fight Ziggler and Roode on the outside before taking down Sami and Corbin. Montez Ford then takes out all four of them with a dive over the top rope.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat Sami Zayn (who is only in for the last ten seconds of the match and never willingly tags in), King Corbin, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode.

Daniel Bryan's backstage interview is interrupted by Sami Zayn, who thinks Daniel is laughing at him. Sami demands respect from Daniel, who shoves him to the ground. After Sami tells him this is not over as he leaves, Daniel Bryan says he believes in social distancing.

Kayla Braxton re-interviews Daniel Bryan. On the subject of being attacked by Jey Uso, who believes Jey when he says the attack was nothing person, as he has a devil on his shoulder pushing him hard, as everyone has an angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other. On the subject of coming back too soon, Daniel Bryan says that Jey Uso should be concerned, and that it is nothing personal.

Backstage, Adam Pearce chooses Otis as the final member of the SmackDown men's team. Chad Gable shows up, and Otis tells him he made it. Gable then leaves with Otis to get him ready. Natalya then shows up regarding her match with Tamina. When she finds out that Bayley is a member of SmackDown's women's team, she is furious. She also finds out her match is next.

We hear from Seth Rollins, who says that Murphy was a nobody until he saved him and gave him a new life. He then says that he is responsible for everything good in that life for Murphy, saying he would have not met Aalyah if not for the greater good. Rollins says that he was backstabbed and betrayed in return, then says he will no longer suffer for Murphy's mistakes and that Murphy will pay for them, and when he teaches Murphy his final lesson, Murphy will go back to being a nobody.

Bianca Belair and Bayley guest on commentary for the next match.

Natalya beats Tamina with the Sharpshooter to qualify for the SmackDown women's Survivor Series team. After the match, The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott and Liv Morgan) shows up as Natalya celebrates with Bayley. Bianca Belair also celebrates with everyone else on the team.

Adam Pearce moderates a contract signing between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre at Survivor Series. McIntyre shows up first, followed by Roman and Paul Heyman. Roman tells McIntyre he knew he would make it to Survivor Series, as he has been in his shoes. He calls McIntyre "the right guy in the right place at the wrong time." McIntyre tells Roman he will not get in his head, and tells Roman he can talk about whatever he wants, but says he won the WWE Championship for himself before signing the contract. McIntyre then says "Your show...your move," then advises Roman to use the last two days of peace to prepare for war before letting Roman sign the contract. Roman says the only person who advises him is Paul Heyman and that SmackDown and WWE is his, then says he will teach him one last lesson at Survivor Series, where McIntyre will learn he is "a secondary title holder." Roman says he is "the champion," the face of WWE, the tribal chief and the head of the table and that one day, years from now, McIntyre will have the opportunity to be the man, and when he does, he will look back and thank him. Roman says that McIntyre will love the lessons he taught him and that he will love him right back, as McIntyre will always be "[his] favorite number two." He signs the contract, then leaves.

Murphy beats Seth Rollins. After the match, the Mysterio family celebrates with Murphy.

Michael Cole moderates a face-to-face meeting between Asuka and Sasha Banks in the ring. Sasha admits that Asuka is one of the best, but Asuka interrupts her. Sasha says there will be no jokes when she makes Asuka tap to the Banks Statement. Asuka keeps joking around with Sasha, who says that they can handle their business right now. Sasha says he is the best of the best, but Asuka tells Asuk she is not ready for her. After Sasha tells Asuka she was born ready, she is attacked from behind by Carmella. Asuka stands there as Carmella attacks Sasha and tells her she should have watched her back, then superkicks Sasha as she is hanging upside down in the corner.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Jey Uso. Jey Uso says he will take care of business with Daniel Bryan, and says he laid him out because he wanted to, then says the only devil talking to him is in his head and telling him to get Daniel.

Daniel Bryan beats Jey Uso with an inside cradle after getting the knees up to block the Uso Splash.
