Dakota Kai attacks Io Shirai from behind to start tonight's show. Tegan Nox shows up to attack Dakota, then Candice LeRae gets involved to start a four-way brawl that soon becomes a match.

Io Shirai and Tegan Nox beat Dakota Kai and Candice LeRae.

We see footage from last Thursday's episode of The Pat McAfee Show, where McAfee interviews Adam Cole. McAfee criticizes Cole, saying Cole has only succeeded due to surrounding himself with taller, more talented guys. Cole yells at McAfee and curses him out before leaving. The following Monday, Cole apologizes for his behavior on the show on Twitter as McAfee proposes to Triple H that Cole guest on his show again.

It is announced that as per General Manager William Regal, Johnny Gargano and Roderick Strong will compete one-on-one tonight after a war of words on Twitter.

Johnny Gargano beats Roderick Strong.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Dakota Kai, who says she is not a team player and that she is done jumping through hoops to become #1 contender because she is #1 contender. She wants Io Shirai and the NXT Women's Championship. Suddenly, Rhea Ripley shows up, says that Io Shirai is here and tells her that she has no problem going through anyone to get to her. Dakota Kai says General Manager William Regal will have something to say about that, then leaves.

Backstage, Timothy Thatcher talks to Mackenzie Mitchell about how he will torture Finn Balor tonight, and as he talks about Dexter Lumis, Dexter Lumis watches from a distance.

Backstage, Kyle O'Reilly tells the rest of The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Roderick Strong) that they need to get back to changing the business.

Mercedes Martinez beats Shotzi Blackheart.

We see a vignette for Ridge Holland, who says that anyone who gets in the ring with him never leaves the same and that he is coming for the North American Championship. It is then revealed that Ridge Holland will debut next week.

Keith Lee shows up. Keith Lee says that Dominik Dijakovic is a grown man and that he is going to be just fine, but the man who seems to think that the sound of sand is the sound of a clock - Karrion Kross - has clearly gotten his attention and is wanting his title. Keith Lee tells Kross that all of his "extra bullshit" that he has done means nothing to him, and he is here because he has the balls to face Kross man-to-man. Lee then calls Kross out, but gets Cameron Grimes instead. Grimes says Keith Lee should be talking about him, because if anyone should be upset, it is him, as he gave away the North American Championship before he could take it. He then says that he will take the NXT Championship from him and go straight to the moon, and as he tries to get Lee's attention, Lee grabs him by the throat, throws him into the ring and proceeds to decimate him. Suddenly, Scarlett shows up, and Grimes tries to hit Lee with a Cave-In only to get a Fighting Spirit Bomb. Karrion Kross then shows up on the TitanTron and asks what kind of man chooses to do nothing while his friend suffers. He says Lee did that and now has to live with it, and gives him two more choices: give him a shot at the NXT Championship, or the hard way, to which he says that Lee does not want to know what it is as everyone will suffer. Kross' image disappears, and Lee tells Kross "Name the time and place, and I will whup that ass." Scarlett then leaves.

Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) beat Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel). After the match, as Marcel Barthel says Imperium has returned, The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) run into the ring and gang up on Imperium, and the numbers game quickly catches up. Adam Cole says that The Undisputed Era run NXT and that nobody else does.

We see a video package chronicling Bronson Reed's journey to the Triple Threat Ladder Match for the North American Championship. Reed talks about his lifelong journey towards going to WWE and his journey to where he is now.

Backstage, Dexter Lumis spies on Finn Balor.

We hear from General Manager William Regal, who says that he will not be bullied into championship matches, which will always be earned in NXT.

Isaiah "Swerve" Scott beats Jake Atlas.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Damian Priest. He says that next week's Triple Threat Match was made for him, and that he takes the match and his opponents - Oney Lorcan and Ridge Holland - seriously. Nevertheless, he sees himself as North American Champion.
