Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 27, 2020

Randy Orton shows up to start tonight's show. Orton says that for the last 20 years, he has gone under numerous names as he became the youngest world champion in WWE history and became part of some iconic teams. He then says that when he thinks of the greats that have come out of the business, he says that none of them can hold a candle to him as he has always done what he wanted when he wanted to do it, which will not change. Orton then says he knows what is missing, and that he needs to become WWE Champion again. He says that Drew McIntyre pales in comparison to him and that he "had his head so far up his ass that he got fired" before coming back. He admits that McIntyre has his respect after beating Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, but warns McIntyre that he has what he wants and that he has a tendency to take stuff he wants from people in the biggest way possible. Orton proposes that McIntyre defend the championship against him at SummerSlam, and when he beats McIntyre for the championship, he will never see it coming.

Nia Jax shows up as Randy Orton leaves, and says she knows how Orton feels as she wants to be Raw Women's Champion, as she was screwed out of the title by a certain referee and Charlotte Flair butted in line before she could get her rematch. She then hints that Charlotte has not been seen since, then "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler shows up. Baszler says nobody gives a damn what Nia wants, and Nia punches her. Referees run into the ring to stop the ensuing brawl.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) act as special guest ring announcers and guest commentators for the next match.

Andrade and Angel Garza beat the team of Cedric Alexander and Ricochet and The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) to face The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam. After the match, Andrade and Garza attack The Street Profits and run off.

Nia Jax vs. "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler ends in a double-count. Security tries to stop both women, but they are quickly laid out. Referees have to get involved when Baszler tries to climb back into the ring.

Seth Rollins and Murphy show up. Seth talks about his victories against Rey Mysterio at Extreme Rules and Aleister Black from last week, then says he is on a roll, but that he is not in a great mood because Dominick is here and he plans to confront him. He says that every time the greater good takes two step forwards, someone gets in the way and he is forced to take a step back, and someone has to get hurt every step of the way, mentioning that Aleister Black has injured his arm. Rollins says he does not want to be "the person who hurts people," because that is not who he is. He says that last time Dominick confronted him, he attacked him from behind and things got more violent than he preferred. He then says tonight will be different, and asks that Dominick confront him face-to-face so they can talk things out. Dominick shows up, and Rollins asks him to step into the ring. Dominick slowly steps into the ring, and Rollins gives him the chance to get something off his chest. Rollins tells him that he is here for him if he cannot articulate his feeling into words, then tries to hug him. Dominick tackles Rollins instead. This leads to a brawl where Rollins and Murphy gang up on Dominick and throw him into the barricade multiple times before throwing him into the announce table. The steel steps then catch Rollins' eye, and as he is about to sacrifice Dominick, Aleister Black shows up and attacks Rollins. Aleister Black is attacked and his arm targeted, and Murphy takes him down with a high knee. Rollins then hits Aleister with The Stomp, then commands Murphy to sacrifice Aleister. Murphy grabs Aleister, then shoves Aleister's right eye into the corner of the steel steps. Rollins then commands Murphy to find Dominick. At this point, Dominick is back on his feet, and he forces Rollins and Murphy to retreat with a Kendo stick.

Backstage, R-Truth meets with Mustafa Ali and mentions Mustafa Ali's upcoming appearance on The VIP Lounge, then says he is coming for the 24/7 Championship before calling him "Mufasa."

It's time for The VIP Lounge. MVP talks about last week's events, then says he wants to help Mustafa Ali see the light before introducing Ali as his guest for the night. Ali says he is happy to be back with the opportunity to climb the ladder and become a real champion. MVP gives Ali credit for his talent and says it can happen if he makes the right decisions and hangs with the right people. Ali says he is not interested in joining him and that he has always thought for himself, but MVP tells him he is not thinking clearly, especially when he has a match with Bobby Lashley. MVP says that Apollo Crews went down a similar path and is now injured and sitting at home, and gives Ali the choice of either being a champion with "the hurt business" or he can be chum in the water for predators. Ali says "no," and as he speaks, R-Truth runs in and tackles Shelton Benjamin before running away after a failed pinfall attempt.

Bobby Lashley beats Mustafa Ali with the Full Nelson. During the match, Akira Tozawa tries to pin Shelton Benjamin to win the WWE 24/7 Championship, but Shelton, MVP and Lashley decimate him and his ninjas.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Dolph Ziggler, who says that Randy Orton can wait a little while longer and that he will face Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship at SummerSlam.

Bayley and Sasha Banks show up. Sasha says nobody likes a bully and that there is no bigger bully than Stephanie McMahon, who says he is jealous of her and Bayley and is forcing her to defend the Raw Women's Championship due to their dominance in the company. Bayley says that they are the show and that they always do the right thing, and when Asuka inadvertently blinded the referee at Extreme Rules, she took the referee's shirt to make the three count and says any good role model would have done the same thing. Sasha says that she and Bayley have done what they said they would do, and Bayley says that tonight, Sasha will make "The Empress of Nothing" Asuka tap out. When The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) show up, Kairi chases Bayley to the back.

Sasha Banks beats Asuka by count-out to become WWE Raw Women's Champion! (The championship could also change hands on a disqualification in this match.) During the match, Bayley attacks Kairi Sane backstage, and the attack is shown on the TitanTron. Asuka is forced to choose saving Kairi Sane over defending the championship, causing Sasha to win the match and the title.

Charly Caruso reports that Kairi Sane's condition is being evaluated, then Bayley and Sasha Banks butt in to celebrate before Asuka comes out of the trainer's room and yells.

WWE pays tribute to Regis Philbin, who passed away over the weekend at the age of 88.

Murphy beats Humberto Carrillo.

Before the next match, Drew McIntyre addresses Randy Orton's comments from the beginning of the show, then says it will be him vs. Orton for the WWE Championship. McIntyre admits that Orton is the biggest threat to his championship and that nobody can touch Orton's accolades, then says he hopes that Orton considers him the underdog and underestimates him, as Brock Lesnar did and he lost the title. After telling Orton he will see the Claymore Kick coming, he then address the match for his match with Dolph Ziggler when Ziggler shows up. McIntyre makes their match an Extreme Rules Match, but this time, it applies to both of them. He then slaps Ziggler.

Drew McIntyre beats Dolph Ziggler in an Extreme Rules Match. After the match, McIntyre is laid out with an RKO from out of nowhere by Randy Orton.

Raw Talk: Andrade and Angel Garza talk about how they got on the same page.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
