Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 16, 2019

Seth Rollins shows up to start tonight's show. Rollins introduces AOP (Akam and Rezar) as "the first two men to stand on the right side of history" as he introduces them into the ring. Rollins says that when he debuted for NXT, everyone was saying that he was the future, and when he showed up on Raw, they said the same thing, and until he beat Brock Lensar twice this year, they still said the same thing. He then mentions that the mood suddenly changed and everyone started to question his leadership as if he had done something wrong, and says being a leader is not about being cool or popular, but about making progress. He says that what happened to Kevin Owens is a tragedy, but that he brought it upon himself and was made an example out of. Rollins says he will continue to tell the truth, and says that he is a leader. Rollins says he is also a visionary, and that he will be the man who leads Raw and the business into the next decade and beyond. He then says that whether the people like it or not, he will drag the fans into 2020 and impose his will, and if anyone resists, AOP will enforce his will. Rollins then says that he has a score to settle, and by the end of the night, it will be settled, and the fans will not like it. He says that for what has to be done tonight, he is sorry. Rollins then leaves with AOP.

Before the next match, Karl Anderson says The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) will be the first to admit that The Viking Raiders are the first unstoppable tag team to hit WWE in decades, then says that they are the only ones to beat The Viking Raiders. He then says that last night, The Viking Raiders sacrificed themselves to make sure they did not lose to The O.C. two times in a row, and Luke Gallows says that while The Viking Raiders are tag team champs, they are the best in the world.

The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) beat The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik).

In footage from last week, Erick Rowan tells Sarah Schreiber to mind her business when it comes to what is in the cage that he carries.

Backstage, The O.C. ("The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson) celebrate their victory from earlier, then AJ Styles says that he wants to take care of Randy Orton on his own and end his career tonight.

Erick Rowan beats Dante Leon after Leon looks under the cage.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Andrade. Andrade speaks in Spanish, then Zelina Vega says that Humberto Carrillo's two victories against Andrade will be the worst thing to ever happen to him.

We see another vignette for "The Liv Morgan Makeover."

Bobby Lashley and Lana show up. Lana says that she knows everybody has been following her Instagram, then announces that Lashley defeated Rusev at TLC. She says that nobody will ever compared to Lashley, and as Lana admires Lashley, the fans chant "Rusev Day." Lana says she and Lashley are trying to move on and that Rusev Day is dead, then continues to admire Lashley. Lana then produces a black ring box from her sleeves and asks Lashley to propose to her. Lashley says he doesn't like when anyone tells him what to do, unless it is Lana, then proposes to Lana. Lana says yes and that everything went exactly as rehearsed, then she and Lashley make out in the ring.

Before the next match, R-Truth he would not be in WWE if it were not for his childhood hero, John Cena, and says that he was inspired by his United States Open Challenge every Saturday morning and plans to hold the 24/7 and United States titles simultaneously. He states that he will take both titles to WrestleMania, then points at a non-existent WrestleMania sign before asking where the sign is at.

A gauntlet match between Andrade, R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, Matt Hardy, Ricochet and Humberto Carrillo to determine a #1 contender for the WWE United States Championship ends in controversy. After R-Truth is eliminated, a few Superstars chase him through the crowd over the WWE 24/7 Championship. When Andrade enters the match, he exposes the concrete floor and hits Carrillo with a hammerlock DDT on the exposed concrete. Rey Mysterio shows up and checks on Carrillo as Andrade and Zelina Vega leave through the crowd. No winner is declared

As Humberto Carrillo is taken away on a stretcher, Seth Rollins shows up with a metal pipe and flanked by AOP (Akam and Rezar), who attack Rey Mysterio. Rollins tells Rey he only wants to give his pipe back to him, and lays it on the mat. When Rey takes the pipe, AOP continue to attack Rey. Rollins tells Rey it did not have to be this way, but he gave Kevin Owens his pipe to attack him. He says that he is not for retribution and that he is a merciful leader, and tells Rey he owes him one. As AOP and Rollins leave, Rollins hits Rey with The Stomp.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Seth Rollins, who says that he is a leader and leads by example. He says that the score was settled and that Rey would not be able to answer his challenge if he sent him to the hospital. Rollins says it is time to establish dominance, and challenges Rey for the WWE United States Championship next week.

We hear from Randy Orton, who says that AJ Styles needs to remember that this is Raw, not SmackDown, and that he will remind him of who he is with an RKO.

Asuka beats Deonna Purrazzo with the Asuka Lock.

Charly Caruso interviews Becky Lynch. Becky says that she has been off the last few months due to being in the tag team position, and while she at first felt the powers that be were trying to bury her, she has realized that they are protecting her against Asuka because they don't think she can win. She says she did not come here to be shielded, for she is still the best after how 2019 has gone for her. She then tells Asuka that she needs her, as she is the one person she has not been able to beat and she needs that to change in order to prove something to herself.

The Butler Family are the recipients of the Cricket Wireless Seat Upgrade.

We hear from Rey Mysterio, and while he has no problem defending the United States title against Andrade, he has a problem with Andrade injuring Humberto Carrillo. He then says that Seth Rollins only started a fight tonight, and showed why nobody respects him. Rey then accepts Rollins' challenge for the United States title.

Randy Orton beats "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. After the match, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attack Orton, but The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) show up to fight Gallows and Anderson. The O.C. ("The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson) overpower Orton and The Viking Raiders, and the show ends with a Magic Killer on Erik.
