Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Roxanne Perez. Roxanne says she feels pretty anxious. She admits that Meiko Satomura will test her, but she has done everything she can do to prepare for her biggest title defense. She says that Satomura is a living legend and that not many people have a win over her, and that she needs to beat her to walk into Stand & Deliver as NXT Women's Champion.

Backstage, Josh Briggs meets with Kiana James concerning Fallon Henley and Brooks Jensen. Josh tells Kiana that he wants Jensen to be happy and that he is terrified of making a mistake, and that Kiana will have to take the lead. As he does, he notices the roses on Kiana's desk, but Kiana takes away the name tag and hides it. Kiana agrees things have not been the same as of late and that despite a series of acquisitions that fell into her lap, a make-up date is in order.

Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) is in the ring. Mark Coffey says it is one thing to talk tough about thing, but another thing to say it to their face, and Wolfgang joins Mark Coffey in calling Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) out. Pretty Deadly show up. Instead on showing up on the stage, however, Pretty Deadly show up on the balcony. Wolfgang asks what it will take for Pretty Deadly to meet them in the ring, and Elton Prince says they want the NXT tag team titles. Elton Prince says that they were robbed of the NXT tag team titles and cannot live without them, then Mark Coffey mentions Pretty Deadly roughing them up before laying the tag team titles on the mat and daring them to take them. Pretty Deadly head to the ring, but Wolfgang forces them over the ropes and into the ring for a beating until Pretty Deadly retreats.

We hear from Lyra Valkyria. She mentions Stevie Turner's randomizer mentioning her, and while knowledge is power, she is not her for information, but for a battle. She also addresses Roxanne Perez and Meiko Satomura, saying that she looks forward to facing either of them.

We hear from Ilja Dragunov, who says that the eyes are the window to the soul, except JD McDonagh has no soul and only gets happiness from hurting people both in body and in spirit. He then proclaims that McDonagh will never break his will.

Dragon Lee is seen in the crowd.

Bron Breakker and The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) beat Indus Sher (Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahaan, Sanga). Carmelo Hayes guests on commentary during the match.

Backstage, Matt Bloom asks "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels if he is sure he wants to appear on The Grayson Waller Effect, but Shawn says he has to do this.

It's time for The Grayson Waller Effect. Grayson Waller says there is no time for questions and that it is all about him and his guest, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, who heads to the ring. After Grayson says he is more of a Bret Hart guy, Shawn admits they were cool at one time, but now Grayson hates him. Grayson says that after winning the Iron Survivor Challenge, he says he would take over NXT and that he does not care what people think about him. He then accuses Shawn of treating him the same way Vince McMahon treated him back in the day and has held him back, then asks why. Shawn says he cut the reins loose a long time ago, and reminds him that he lost at Vengeance Day. He says that what happened at New Year's Evil was not Grayson's fault, but he took his shot at Vengeance Day and missed, and he only has himself to blame. Grayson says Shawn only sits at gorilla position because Triple H had a heart attack, but Shawn says he stepped in because he needed to after everything Triple H did for him, and while Triple H was in charge then, he is the one directing the ship now. Grayson says the ship has sailed and is sailing right into an iceberg, then says he would not be surprised if his name ended up on a cut list after WrestleMania, and says that without him, NXT is nothing. Shawn says Grayson thinks he is bigger than the brand and that NXT was built on a collective and not one person, and that Grayson is just a part of the brand. Grayson reminds Shawn that he acted like an individual in his career and wonders when "Captain Team Player" showed up. Shawn says that when he stepped into NXT, he knew that it was special, but Grayson Waller says that NXT is the same people in the same clothes every week and that he is sick of not getting the treatment he deserves. Shawn dares Grayson to run him down like he has been run down for 40 years, but warns him not to run the NXT brand into the ground. When Grayson asks if it pisses Shawn off and Shawn says yes, Grayson tells Shawn to do something about it and fight him. Shawn takes his jacket off and says people have wanted him for their WrestleMania dream match and that Grayson thinks he is something special, but Grayson is "just a guy doing it in 2023" and nothing would thrill him more than to whip his ass at Stand & Deliver. He then says the reality is that there is someone who wants to whip his ass more and believes in NXT more than he does, and that his opponent at Stand & Deliver is not going to be Shawn, but Johnny Gargano. Johnny Gargano shows up, runs into the ring, and beats Grayson up until he retreats.

Kiana James calls Brooks Jensen. Meanwhile, Fallon Henley has the feeling that Brooks Jensen did not send Kiana roses, and Josh Briggs wonders what they are going to do.

Bron Breakker heads to the ring and calls out Carmelo Hayes, who shows up. Carmelo says it is time for their paths to finally cross, and says that both of them want a match for the NXT Championship. Breakker says he could not agree more, as they have both on their separate paths and he has kept tabs on him. Carmelo says he kept tabs on Breakker, as he always made it a point to watch him. Breakker mentions a meeting Shawn Michaels had with them telling them that the new NXT was theirs for the taking, and Carmelo says they have both got their own. Breakker then says there is nowhere else to go, and Carmelo tells Breakker to put the NXT Championship on the line and that he will see him at Stand & Deliver. Carmelo then says that he is secondary to no one, and Breakker says that at Stand & Deliver, they shall see.

Andre Chase and Duke Hudson meet with Tyler Bate and Thea Hail as Tyler leads Thea in meditation. Tyler tells Chase that they have made some progress, then wishes Andre Chase luck on his match tonight. Meanwhile, Hudson thinks meditation is "snake oil."

Joe Gacy beats Andre Chase after Thea Hail confronts Ava Rayne at ringside.

We hear from Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn, who perform a full moon ritual as Alba brings up the rifts in teams in the women's tag team division and says that she and Isla are unrivaled as they get closer to claiming their lot next week.

Backstage, Thea Hail apologizes to Andre Chase for tonight's loss, and Andre Chase congratulates her for standing up to Ava Rayne. Duke Hudson finally butts in and says that Chase University is now a joke and an institution of losers who celebrate failure, then storms off.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Wes Lee, who talks about the rush to face him in last week's open challenge only for Nathan Frazer to face him and the commotion that came with it, and says that next week, it is happening again. Axiom shows up and says it will be the two of them for the North American Championship, and Wes Lee says that if Axiom can get to the ring first, he knows that they will tear it up.

Roxanne Perez retains the NXT Women's Championship against Meiko Satomura with a roll-up to counter Scorpio Rising. After the match, Satomura personally hands the Women's Championship to Roxanne Perez and raises her hand, then Roxanne collapses. Referees run in, then call for medical staff. The referees then ask where the EMTs are. Both Meiko Satomura and Booker T watch in the ring as EMTs bring in a stretcher, and even "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels shows up to check on Roxanne, who is fitted with a neck brace and administered oxygen as she is taken to an ambulance.

He says that he does not expect Ilja Dragunov to understand, but he soon will, and that their next battle will be the symphony he desires. He says that Dragunov has the highest pain resistance he has ever seen, and when he is medically cleared, he will push Dragunov beyond his limits, break his spirit and will, and send him home permanently.

In backstage footage from moments ago, Katana Chance alerts a trainer to Wendy Choo having been attacked outside.

Gigi Dolin shows up. She talks about how Jacy Jayne betrayed her three weeks ago, then says this is not the first time she has had to deal with real, life-altering changes or being betrayed by someone close to her, and that she has realized who she is. She says that Jacy Jayne will always be about superficial, surface-level things as that was what Toxic Attraction was always about, and while it was a way for Jayne to channel her energy, Toxic Attraction was a way for her to channel her demons. Gigi says she told Jacy everything about her, and says that the last close person to hurt her was her own mother, and that she wanted to prove she could succeed in NXT and escape the abuse with her brother. She says that Jacy has never been through what she has been through, and at Roadblock, she will hammer the final nail in the coffin of Toxic Attraction and beat Jacy Jayne.

At Chase University, Duke Hudson apologizes to Thea Hail for his recent actions. Andre Chase then teaches a class on famous wrestling factions with The Schism (Joe Gacy, Rip Fowler, Jagger Reid, Ava Raine) interrupts it. Andre Chase says that at Roadblock, he will show the principles Chase University was built upon when he beats The Schism.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for February 14, 2023

In memory of Jerry Jarrett, 1942 - 2023.

Tyler Bate beats Grayson Waller after Waller is caught grabbing the bottom rope on a sit-down pinfall attempt by the referee and Tyler Bate reverses it into one of his own.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Brooks Jensen admits to Josh Briggs that he has never "been on base" in an attempt at a relationship. Briggs tells Jensen he has to go 90% of the way while Kiana goes 10%. Fallon Henley shows up, and tells Jensen that if Kiana finagles with her keys, she wants a kiss. Josh applies the "90-10" rule to this, and Jensen feels he knows what to do.

As Jacy Jayne is seen heading to the ring, Grayson Waller is seen arguing with Matt Bloom and "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Grayson is kicked out of the building, and Shawn demands the show cut to break.

We hear from Apollo Crews, who says that Vengeance Day was his chance to get one step closer. He throws his journal down, then calls out Dabba-Kato, wanting to know what he did for Dabba-Kato to betray him when they shared so much together. He says that Dabba-Kato has his reasons and he has his own, and now, all he is focused on is revenge.

Jacy Jayne heads to the ring. Jacy says last week was the end of "the Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) story" and the beginning of hers, and that it is all about her. She says that the proof is in the boot, as she has been the talk of NXT for the last week. Jacy then says her name is on the tip of everyone's tongues, and that she only regrets not pulling the trigger sooner. She says she has already watched the footage a thousand times, then says more than a thousand is better and we see the footage of her betrayal of Gigi Dolin again. Jacy then says that she had to kick her that hard, because everyone wants to act like Gigi Dolin was the victim when the real victim is her. She then says Gigi's days of doing half the work and taking all the credit is over, then calls her "Jannetty." She then says everyone will see Gigi for who she really is, and she is no longer her security blanket and she will not be taking care of all her mistakes. She then says nobody cares about Gigi, and tells everyone to listen carefully to what she has to say. She then says "Screw you," because for the last two years, everyone saw her as the one who did not belong and called her "the third wheel" in the most dominant female faction in WWE history. Jacy then says she is the last woman standing.

Backstage, Duke Hudson speaks with Thea Hail, as does Andre Chase. Thea Hail says she cannot back out of her match with Tiffany Stratton tonight, as that means The Schism wins, and that she has to stare fear in the face and says "Hi, fear. I'm Thea."

She talks about the freedom her parents gave her, the many interests that she picked up over the years and the Sol Snatcher. Isla Dawn says that Tatum Paxley is weighed down by Ivy Nile, then says it is better to be chained than to be on her own. Ivy and Tatum are not deterred.

Axiom beats Damon Kemp.

We see pictures of Brooks Jensen's date with Kiana James from Twitter. Backstage, Fallon Henley tells Josh Briggs "I can't take it anymore. I have to tell him." Briggs has no idea what Fallon is talking about.

We see footage from Twitter of Grayson Waller bragging about how he is the biggest star in NXT and calling Shawn Michaels a stooge while accusing him of being a hypocrite as he is being kicked out of the arena.

Bron Breakker heads to the ring. Bron says it feels a little different tonight, as when one door closes, another one opens. He then feels the next challenge feels not only different, but bigger, as it is the match that everyone wants to see: him vs. Carmelo Hayes. Suddenly, Indus Sher (Jinder Mahal, Veer Mahaan, Sanga) shows up. Bron admits he did not expect Jinder Mahal to show up, but Jinder tells Bron to expect the unexpected. Jinder admits he admires the fact that for almost an entire year, Bron has carried NXT on his back, then says he knows very well the weight that he carries on his shoulders and the stress of the next challenger and retaining his championship. He then says he also understands the lifestyle that comes from being the champ, and asks Bron if this is the title run that he envisioned. Bron says yes, then Jinder tells Bron that he must be deaf if he does not hear the fans who once loved him changing their tune. Jinder then says he knows well enough that you die a hero or live long enough to become the vision, and when Bron says the fans can have their own opinion, Jinder says Bron cannot acknowledge that the tides are changing and that he is weak. Jinder then challenges Bron to a match next week for the NXT Championship, and Bron accepts, saying he is a simple man before making a 3MB (Heath Slater, Drew McIntyre, Jinder) reference. Jinder says Bron only made the 3MB reference to get the fans to like him, but when he is through with him, the fans will not even feel bad for him even though he will.

Backstage, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance apologize to Roxanne Perez and Meiko Satomura for being aggressive to Roxanne when she had nothing to do with what was going on. Kayden and Katana then say they will want tonight's match, as they have always wanted to face Satomura. Roxanne then thanks Meiko Satomura for her help, and Satomura says "I have my reasons."

Wes Lee is in the ring. Wes says it is open season for the North American Championship and that he wants to know who will step up. Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo show up, but Dijak shows up behind D'Angelo and chokes him out, and Stacks has to save D'Angelo. As referees handle this, Wes Lee is attacked from behind by Von Wagner, and this starts the next match.

Wes Lee retains the NXT North American Championship against Von Wagner.

Backstage, Drew Gulak is met by Hank Walker, who is now wearing a new singlet. Drew Gulak hands him new boots to replace the old ones, and Walker proceeds to put the new boots on for his next match.

Charlie Dempsey beats Hank Walker by submission. After the match, Dempsey continues to put Walker in a submission hold. Gulak stands there as Dempsey continues, and multiple referees break up the hold before Gulak looks at Dempsey before leaving with him.

An angry Von Wagner throws things in the locker room before Mr. Stone tells Wagner that he lost not because of his skills, but because he has no connection with him or the fans. He tells Von Wagner that his walls are up, and that he needs to bring them down. He says that he has more time for the guy inside of him and that he will get him where he wants to go, but he has to help him help himself.

We see Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) shooting pool at a bar and having pints when Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) shows up and brag that they could beat him in a game of pool. Pretty Deadly end up on the losing end, but if they can keep Gallus' mugs filled, they can keep taking them on. Elton Prince also tries to vie for an NXT tag team title shot if they win, but Mark Coffey says that is "a big if." Pretty Deadly end up with a big bill and a bunch of losses, and Coffey says that if they wanted a title shot, all they had to do was ask.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Ilja Dragunov. Dragunov says he has a long road to healing, but pain makes him feel alive, and says that after what happened last week, it is only the beginning with JD McDonagh. Dragunov heads to the ring and says he is impressed with him and that he is the life of the party. Trick goes for a cheap shot, but Dragunov then answers with a step-up enzuigiri. JD McDonagh then shows up. McDonagh says Dragunov should be in jail for tearing his retina and that he should have went home and stayed home, and now he is forced to show him what he is capable of. He says that this time, he will beat him so badly he will not be able to hold his son. Dragunov is then attacked from behind by Trick Williams, who then proceeds to mock him as he is down. Trick leaves, then McDonagh tries to get in the ring only to back down when Dragunov gets back on his feet.

Kiana asks Fallon when she will trust her, and Jensen is embarrassed.

Roxanne Perez and Meiko Satomura beat Katana Chance and Kayden Carter. After the match, Satomura tells Roxanne she did something for her, then asks Roxanne to do something for her and points at the NXT Women's Championship. Roxanne says it would be her honor.

He says that he carries this with himself every single day, then brings up Jordan Devlin bringing up his family, saying Devlin does not feel what he feels. He says he does not need to rent a nice car, rent a penthouse of buy people into cheering, as he is enough, he is real and he is a real champion.

Dani Luna tells Stevie she can "two step" all she wants, for when she gets in the ring with her, all she needs is three seconds.

Ilja Dragunov heads to the ring. Dragunov says he is the NXT UK Champion and that he wishes words could express being completly and entirely destroyed to the point of overcoming something that he was not expected to overcome. He then says he has the strength and the will of the fans, and that he is ready to take NXT UK to another level. Dragunov says that to do that, he must step into the ring and fight like his life depends it, and for that, he needs next-level competitors. He then says he cannot wait for his next competitor to come, for his will is always hungry. Suddenly, Rampage Brown shows up and tells Dragunov he is the man right now for beating Walter and taking A-Kid to his limits before telling him they have unfinished business. Rampage says he would love to be the next man to face him for the NXT UK Championship. Dragunov tells Rampage he is the not first giant he would have to take down, but he respects him, and fighting him would be a great idea to him. Thursday, July 15, 2021

Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for July 15, 2021

In memory of "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, 1949 - 2021.

We hear from Triple H. He announces that on October 29, 2020, NXT UK brought a match that is so intense that defined a brand and re-defined brutality that people still talk about it. That match is Ilja Dragunov vs. Walter for the NXT UK Championship, and next week, the long-awaited rematch takes place. Triple H says that Walter has dominated the brand for over 800 days while defending the title both in the US and the UK, and that Dragunov is an enigma and one of the most dedicated and intense invidiuals to ever enter the squared circle, and that next week, the world will be watching.

Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala moderates a press conference between Walter and Ilja Dragunov, and demands there be no physicality tonight. Alex McCarthy from talkSport asks Walter if he believes his championship reign is under threat, to which Walter replies no, as the difference between him and Dragunov is that he is here for the greater good as well as the tradition and history of professional wrestling, and says that while Ilja is a great athlete, he does not have the mental ability to step up to his level and that he will have to prove this when he wrestles him again. Ace from BBC 1Xtra asks Dragunov what he has learned from last year's defeat, and Dragunov admits it has been a dark time since then, and that failures like this last in one's mind and that he had lost control since then, but he has since found himself again and he had to learn to compete at a top level again. Alistair McGeorge from Metro.co.uk asks Walter Dragunov what to expect from next week's rematch, and Dragunov says to expect brutality and that people will forget what the world "violence" means, and that the outcome will be difference. As Dragunov says that Walter is arrogant and has a god complex, Walter interrupts him and says he redefines the sport when he wrestles, and that Dragunov was happy enough to be a part of that. He then says he is tired of seeing Dragunov being sad about himself and says that he is a fraud and "all show," as Dragunov realized that while he is fantastic, he is not man enough and on his level, and that all his displays of intensity and motivation are there to get attention. Walter then demands a saddened Dragunov look at him as he speaks in German. Dragunov says he thought it was enough to be champion last time, and while he has respect for Walter because Walter makes him a better wrestler when he steps in the ring with him, the respect is now gone for what Walter did to him afterwards and all that is left is hate for the person that he nearly made him into when he broke him, saying it was not necessary. He says that next week, he will break Walter in the ring and either walk out NXT UK Champion or not walk out at all. Sid Scala steps away as both men have an intense staredown.

We hear from Subculture ("Flash" Morgan Webster, Mark Andrews, Dani Luna). Andrews says he is having deja vu, and Webster says that it is because two years ago, they won the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. Dani Luna says that next week, history will repeat itself against Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley), and Dani Luna says Andrews and Webster will be two-time NXT UK Tag Team Champions.

Teoman and Rohan Raja beat Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter with a crosfface from Teoman to Carter.

In footage from earlier this week, Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala is being interviewed when A-Kid walks out of the trainer's room with a walker and a leg cast. He says that he is sick and tired of Jordan Devlin, and that he needs a rematch with Devlin in a 30-minute Iron Man Match as soon as he is medically cleared. Scala says he will get right on it.

We hear from Aoife Valkyrie, who says she has watched and learned everything she could about Jinny, and says that Jinny will never understand that the best have short memories when it comes to failure and that she is here to be the best. She says she is here to climb while Jinny is not prepared to take off her high heels, as she only picks a fight if she knows the odds are in your favor. She then says that Jinny has declared war on the wrong person.

We hear from Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley). Sam Stoker says that Subculture ("Flash" Morgan Webster, Mark Andrews, Dani Luna) are social outcasts and weirdos that cost them a match last week. Howley says it was his mistake taking Andrews lightly, and says that Andrews made a mistake getting his friends involved. He says that Pretty Deadly run the tag team division, while Stoker says that Subculter are tag team champions of the past.

Meiko Satomura retains the NXT UK Women's Championship against Amale.

It is announced that there was an altercation between Walter and Ilja Dragunov backstage following their press conference, and that Walter has suffered a severe injury in his left hand. Walter then says that his motivation and mission to respect and restore the honor of professional wrestling has not changed as he will be "the forever NXT UK Champion."

Jordan Devlin is seen with his own dressing room backstage.

We hear from Subculture ("Flash" Morgan Webster, Mark Andrews, Dani Luna). Dani Luna says that Jinny has looked down on her since day one because she "doesn't fit the mold" of a WWE Superstar, and Mark Andrews says the only thing Joseph Conners is worthy of is getting his head kicked in. Luna says that if Jinny and Conners want to talk about them so much, then they are in luck, for next week, the four of them will be in a tag team match.

Jordan Devlin beats Saxon Huxley.

Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley) guests on commentary for the next match.

He says he can put everyone in the NXT UK roster in the hospital, then asks Oliver Carter how his family would feel to see him there before saying that Ashton Carter would not see him in the hospital for he is his tag team partner, not his family. He says that this is Oliver Carter's weakness, and that the eye sees everything.

Next week: Sam Gradwell vs. Wolfgang! Subculture (Dani Luna and "Flash" Morgan Webster) vs. Jinny and Joseph Conners!

Tyler Bate says the Heritage Cup represents the old-for-hold pure technique of professional wrestling that he fell in love with. When A-Kid says the cup is his, Tyler Bate says it is for now and that his confidence will be his downfall, for he does not have the experience and big matches under his belt. A-Kid says that he has always been chasing Tyler Bate, but now he is the champion and Tyler Bate is chasing him, but Tyler says he is in his own lane and that A-Kid fails to see the bigger picture.
