In backstage footage from earlier today, Alex Marvez gets an interview with The Elite (Nicholas Jackson, Matthew Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada). Nicholas demands Marvez show respect to Okada by speaking to him in Japanese, and Matthew brags about his Duolingo streak before saying that Okada is oozing talent and charisma and that he is the man who can rise to the occasion. Nicholas says he and Matthew will not be at ringside, but will be at the producers' booth. Okada tells Eddie that he is coming for his title.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. Strickland says he intends to be AEW World Champion, and that Samoa Joe tried to humiliate him in front of the world by choking him out. He says he has a history of choking people out himself, and because of that, Joe is ducking him. He says that he has been inspired by Mike Tyson sparring to prepare for his upcoming fight, then says he will be in the middle of the ring to wrestle anyone who is willing to face him.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Stokely Hathaway, Kris Statlander and Willow Nightingale. Willow says she will walk into the ring all smiles, but she has been in more street fights than any other woman in AEW, and she is a completely different person in the ring with a weapon in her hand. As Kris Statlander says that this is the end for Julia Hart and Skye Blue, Mercedes Moné shows up, and Kris thanks Mercedes for having her and Willow's backs last week. Mercedes says a CEO stands up for what she believes in and that she will be watching tonight, and thanks Kris for having her back. Willow tries to speak, but Mercedes tells her she has done enough before she leaves. Stokely tells Willow she has nothing to worry about as she broke her ankle, but Willow gets mad at him.
Hook beats "Lionheart" Chris Jericho with an inside cradle as Jericho goes for the Walls of Jericho to counter Redrum from the top rope. Jericho and Hook fistbump after the match in a sign of respect.
We hear from Adam Cole. Cole says he hates the feeling of being disappointed, and that Willow disappointed him by failing to beat Samoa Joe for the AEW World Champion. He says Wardlow should be champion, and now Wardlow will have to make sure that Undisputed Kingdom keeps the gold that they have in hopes of being forgiven. Cole says he wants the best for Wardlow and wants him to reach his true potential, and tells Wardlow not to screw it up.
Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Lionheart" Chris Jericho, who says that he wanted to face Hook for a reason and that he got what he hoped for when he hurt his neck and his pride. He says Hook is something he has not seen in a long time and has his respect and is as much of a bad, bad man as he thinks he is, and next week, he has a proposition for him.
Tony Schiavone interviews Will Ospreay in the ring. Ospreay says he was "a little bit of a naughty boy" last time he was here, but he has changed and is here for the betterment of AEW, and apologizes to Canada for what he did last time. Ospreay says he plans to give the fans elite levels of professional wrestling, but in the meantime, he needs some of that maple syrup. Ospreay says he had said everything he needed to say about "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson until he saw Danielson's match with Katsuyori Shibata, which he highly praises, and says he hopes everyone studies it. He then mentions Danielson stating he was grateful to face him, yet stating that he could not walk a mile in Danielson's shoes, and says he could not wear Danielson's shoes because they were too small for him. Ospreay says that what Danielson did in Japan was great, but what he did in Japan elevated professional wrestling alongside all of his accomplishments. Ospreay then mentions Katsuyori Shibata, saying he has two pugs, three cats, a child, a wife, a mortgage to pay and a point to prove and that next week, he wants Shibata to meet him in the ring and Danielson to stay home and watch.

Swerve Strickland beats The Butcher with a modified short arm scissors. During the match, it is announced that due to the beginning of the NCAA tournament on TNT, Collision will not air this week and will return next week at its regular time. After the match, Swerve addresses Samoa Joe, admitting he had nothing but utmost respect for him before he met him, then states that he became more indifferent as he got to know him, then started to not like him and become very close to hating him. He says that he thinks around choking Joe out and hanging his head on the ring post, then says he does not have enough chain to do all that. He also says that if Joe keeps sending out security, then he will keep beating them up and going after him until Joe gives him what he wants. Samoa Joe shows up and says he has already beaten Swerve and shoved him down the championship ladder, and says Swerve's belief that the impossible can be possible is a major problem, as it makes him think that if he stands up to him, he can box with a god. Joe says this kind of belief can be contagious and that the fans will start thinking that they can be great and become a champion, too, and says that this is fine and dandy until someone like him shows up and takes everything. Joe then says he knows what to do with someone like Swerve, and it is to give Swerve what he wants. Suddenly, Don Callis shows up and states that it strikes him that Swerve can just book himself into a title match and that Swerve and "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita have the same amount of wins, with the only difference beting that Takeshita is undefeated outside of his own family. He then says that Takeshita should make Swerve taste what it feels like to lose within his family, then says AEW is his family's house, not Swerve's. Swerve says that if he had more time and less distractions, he would burn The Don Callis Family tree down to a crisp, then says he will take down Takeshita before coming after Joe again.

Later on, Copeland chokes Christian out with the drawstring from his trunks, and as Christian is about to quit, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne and Killswitch show up and attack Copeland. All of a sudden, "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard and Daniel Garcia show up after Mama Wayne slaps Copeland, and they beat up Nick Wayne and Killswitch, allowing Copeland to hit Killswitch with an Impaler on a barbed wire chair. After Copeland takes down Nick Wayen and Killswitch from the top of a ladder, Garcia and Copeland handcuff both men to the corners of the ring with their hands behind their backs, restraining them. Mama Wayne runs away as soon as she is surrounded and Copeland presents a pair of handcuffs, which leads to a three-on-one gang-up on Christian Cage before he too is restrained to a corner with a pair of handcuffs. Copeland then produces Spike from underneath the ring, and he kicks Christian in the groin multiple times before hitting him in the groin with Spike. Copeland is about to hit Christian with Spike again when Christian quits, making Copeland the champion for a second time.
