Big Business - Dynamite recap for March 13, 2023

A Mercedes-Maybach rolls into the arena, and the passenger side door opens.

Mercedes Moné heads to the ring. Mercedes says that she is home, then thanks the fans for having her back for the past two years, giving her the courage and the strength to be here and sticking with her throughout her highs and lows. She says that she and the fans will be creating so many moments together, as the fans are the reason why she is here. Mercedes says that if the fans only knew how much tonight and how much wrestling means to her, as wrestling has changed and it has changed her life, giving her hopes, a place to dream and a place to believe she could do this one day. She says her dreams, which started when she was only ten, let her lead a women's revolution and main event a pay-per-view in tonight's venue. She also talks about how she had to drop out at thirteen to take care of her brother Joshua. Mercedes then mentions how her dreams took her to the New England-area independent wrestling company Chaotic Wrestling at eighteen and on the road to becoming one of the greatest of all time, and says that if she can do it, the fans can, too. She then says she is here in AEW because she both wants and needs to be here, as it is the only place where this revolution can be global, and that she and the fans will make that happen. Mercedes says she has been watching every week and that she cannot wait to tear it up with the women's division, then addresses Willow Nightingale vs. Riho, saying she and Willow have a lot of unfinished business. As for tonight, she is officially All Elite. A graphic stating that Mercedes Moné is All Elite is shown on the video screen, then Mercedes thanks Tony Khan and the fans before telling them to say hello to their new CEO.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe says tonight feels a little different, but Wardlow does not, as he sent forth by lesser men for crimes that he may or may not have committed. He says that he has not forgotten their last match and what debts need to be paid, and that Wardlow is far overdue. Joe says he will take no quarter and that he does not lose champonships "in the Garden."

We hear from Adam Cole, who reads from a book. Adam Cole says that once upon a time, there was a warrior called Wardlow who was deceived and lied to, and guarded by an evil man and true devil named MJF, and his destiny was to be the king he always could be. He says that Wardlow has gold, but he needed a kingdom who understood him, and now that Wardlow has that kingdom, the AEW World Championship will be brought to the kingdom and the kingdom will remain whole.

Samoa Joe retains the AEW World Championship against Wardlow by submission after countering the Powerbomb Symphony with a back body drop and locks in the Coaquina Clutch. After the match, Swerve Strickland fights off security with a chain as he makes his way to the ring, and Joe slides out of the ring and heads to the back.

In footage from earlier today, Alex Marvez interviews The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada). Nicholas demands Marvez call Okada '"The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada,' then Matthew states that they and Okada have had a great 14-year friendship and have helped each other out greatly during their careers, which is why Okada is a part of The Elite. Okada tells Penta el Zero Miedo, PAC and Eddie Kingston that he is coming for them, then demands Marvez sing "Happy Birthday" to Matthew.

The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada) beat Penta el Zero Miedo, PAC and Eddie Kingston in a trios match after Nicholas kicks Eddie in the groin behind the referee's back, allowing Okada to hit the Rainmaker for the win.

We see a video package of the events leading to Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage in an "I Quit" Match for the TNT Championship next week.

Tony Schiavone interviews Will Ospreay in the ring. Ospreay says that his match with "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson means so much to him, as he has always wanted to do what Danielson has done throughout his career, as he always left it in the ring for the fans. He says that he is glad that Danielson is a fan of his work and has asked him to prove that he is the best in the world, and after his match with Kenny Omega, everyone was talking about the Tiger Driver '91. He says that beating Omega was worth it even as blood streamed from his head, and while he respects Danielson, their match means a lot to him and the fans, as he is not only here to "restore the feeling," he is the feeling. Ospreay says their match will remind the fans what All Elite Wrestling is, as the best in the world meets the best of the 21st century and only one will come out the winner. He says he can have respect for his opponent, when he is in the ring, it is his life or theirs, and he does not plan on dying. Ospreay then says that Dynasty will be about who the best wrestler is, and that he is on another level.

We hear from "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo, who says that is not over between her and "Timeless" Toni Storm. She says that if Toni wants to play the numbers game, then she has no problem finding a tag team partner. She also says she and her partner will be paying attention to Toni's tag team match on Rampage, then tells Toni to watch for the shoe because the shoe is going straight up her ass.

"Switchblade" Jay White beats Darby Allin when Darby gets back in the ring to beat the ten count only to slide right into Blade Runner. After the match, Jay White offers his hand, but does the "Bang Bang" hand sign instead and has The Gunns attack him insted. The Gunns wrap a chair around Darby's left leg, and Jay White is about to swing down the baseball bat when The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) show up and stop them. Max Caster and Anthony Bowens help Darby out of the ring as "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn talks sense into Jay White, takes the baseball bat away from him and turns around only for Jay White to smack him with a metal folding chair. Caster and Bowens run back into the ring only to be laid out by The Gunns, who use the Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag belts as weapons before Jay White hits Billy Gunn with Blade Runner. The Gunns and Jay White then get Darby Allin back in the ring, wrap the chair around Darby's left leg and smash the baseball bat into the chair to injure Darby.

"Lionheart" Chris Jericho and Hook beat Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) with Redrum from Hook to Kaun. As this happens, Jericho briefly locks in the Lion Tamer on Kaun while Hook has Redrum locked in, and lets go of the hold to drop kick Toa Liona off the ring apron. Hook eventually makes Kaun tap for the win.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Kyle O'Reilly. O'Reilly says worrying about not being able to wrestle again for two years is now the least of his worries. He says the AEW landscape has changed and that he wonders if he can still hang, then says "The Outlaw" Brian Myers can bring out "the real Kyle O'Reilly." Roderick Strong shows up with The Kingdom and says that he has respect for O'Reilly, and tells O'Reilly that if he wants to do it on his own, then he should do it on his own.

We see a video package for Willow Nightingale vs. Riho.

Backstage, Mercedes Moné introduces hereself to Riho and wishes her good luck before the main event.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Lionheart" Chris Jericho and Hook. Jericho says that Gates of Agony are no joke and that Hook has potential and "Future World Champion" written all over him, but he wants to know more and know what it is like to stand across the ring from him. Jericho then challenges Hook to a match for the first time ever in AEW. Hook accepts.

Willow Nightingale beats Riho. After the match, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Julia Hart is across from the ring. Skye Blue shows up from behind Willow and hits her with a chop block before going on the attack. Julia Hart soon joins in, then Skye Blue holds Willow down. Before Julia Hart can hit Willow with the TBS Championship, Mercedes Moné shows up, takes down Skye Blue and makes quick work of Julia Hart. Mercedes looks at Willow, and Willow raises Mercedes' hand.
