Roadblock - NXT recap for March 5, 2024

Lexis King introduces us to Roadblock.

Dijak beats Joe Gacy in an Asylum Match.



Backstage, Adriana Rizzo tells Tony D'Angelo that tonight is his night, and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo tells D'Angelo that he made "a Don move." Stacks the introduces D'Angelo to Luca Crusifino, and asks him to be his consigliere. Crusifino is in.

Backstage, Fallon Henley thanks Riley Osborne for talking with Thea Hail. Riley says that Thea changed during their date, but Fallon tells Riley that Thea took some bad advice. Blair Davenport shows up and tells Fallon to stay out of other people's business, and Fallon dares Blair to face her in a match.

Backstage, Tatum Paxley tells Lyra Valkyria that they will be more than friends; they will be champions. Lyra says they need to be realistic, as Asuka and Kairi Sane are a skilled team. Tatum says they have to win and that she will do anything, including ripping out an opponent's soul, to win. Lyra does not know what to make of this.

Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against Chase University (Andre Chase and Duke Hudson).



Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Carmelo Hayes, who is surrounded by armored security. He says Tony D'Angelo will do what he does, but his hand-picked security guards will do what they can to protect him. He says the NXT Championship is reserved for the biggest star in NXT and that there is nobody bigger than him, and that he will make history when he becomes champion at back-to-back Stand & Deliver events.

Shawn Spears quickly beats Uriah Connors. After the match, Shawn Spears says it takes a certain man to hold a mirror to the truth, as most will not like what they see, and are forced to be who they are instead of what they want to be. He says that Ridge says he competes in the ring for his family, but he feels he is lying to himself. He says that darkest of thoughts get to everyone, including him, but the difference between them is that he is not ashamed of who he is when he looks in the mirror. He tells Ridge to be a man, then Ridge Holland shows up.



Backstage, Josh Briggs talks with Brooks Jensen regarding his match with Oba Femi next week. Jensen says he has taken control of his life and career, and that Briggs triggered something inside of him and he is ready to bust Oba Femi up. Jensen leaves, then Dijak shows up and tells Briggs that he does not really see Jensen as a brother, and that he knows Jensen is a dead man walking.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Ilja Dragunov. Draguno says that when one is NXT Champion, one cannot be surprised by anthing. He says he likes Tony D'Angelo, but he might see things differently. He also says that he likes to see Carmelo Hayes squirm and that Carmelo will have to earn his opportunity. "Channing" Stacks Lorenzo and Luca Crusifino show up, and Stacks says that D'Angelo will see Dragunov at Stand & Deliver. Draguno says he looks forward to the main event.

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) retain the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships against Tatum Paxley and Lyra Valkyria after Lyra inadvertently kicks Tatum in the head. During the match, a brawl between Thea Hail and the team of Izzi Dame and Kiana James being held back by referees backstage is seen. After the match, Roxanne Perez attacks Lyra Valkyria and stomps her elbow into a turnbuckle. Lyra has to be taken out on a stretcher.





After the commercial break, Lyra Valkyria is placed in an ambulance.

Fallon Henley beats Blair Davenport after Sol Ruca shows up for the first time in months and takes out Davenport on the outside.



Backstage, Jacy Jayne is disappointed with Andre Chase and Duke Hudson for coming up short tonight when Thea Hail shows up stating that she has gotten in a fight with Izzi Dame and Kiana James and needs a tag partner. Jacy says she is busy, and she and Jasmyn Nyx leave.

Backstage, Gigi Dolin meets with NXT General Manager Ava when Arianna Grace shows up. She accepts a match with Gigi on the condition that if she wins, she gets to show off Gigi's true inner beauty. Gigi accepts.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Shawn Spears, who says that he expects Ridge Holland to face him next week, as rage is his best friend and he plans to make Ridge embrace it.



No Quarter Catch Crew (Drew Gulak, Charlie Dempsey, Damon Kemp, Myles Borne) is in the ring. Drew Gulak says Charlie Dempsey is one of the greatest grapplers in the WWE, and thanks to Dempsey , they have the Heritage Cup. Charlie says this is an honor and that he has held interest in the cup for some time, as it represents competition in line with the pure arts of the sport. He says the cup is not just his alone, then Damon Kemp says it is time for the cup to be honored by the like-minded and that the four of them are champion as a collective. Gulak then mentions that they will be in the upcoming tag team tournament and that No Quarter Catch Crew will be tag team champions. Suddenly, William Regal shows up, leading to "He's your father!" chants, and says the Heritage Cup means a lot, as it represents the best of European wresting, and every time it is contested, it is a tribute to those who came before him and he takes it personally. Regal hopes that they will defend the Heritage cup with the honor and integrity that it depends. Dempsey says he will defend the title better than he ever could, and Regal says he will be watching.



Backstage, Lash Legend and Oro Mensah are concerned for Noam Dar, and when Lash tries to get Noam's attention, Noam smiles and says it is time for bigger and better things.

Backstage, Mr. Stone is watching a video of Lexis King badmouthing him when Von Wagner shows up and tells him that he is not done with Lexis. Mr. Stone says Lexis had made this personal, and asks Wagner to step aside so he can fight him.

Tony D'Angelo beats Carmelo Hayes to face Ilja Dragunov for the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver. After the match, D'Angelo apologizes for the stunt he pulled, then says he is a giving Don and says he has a present for Carmelo. Trick Williams' theme hits again, and Trick shows up from behind and fights Carmelo. The security guards get in the ring, but also get decked, and Carmelo retreats.
