Collision Course - Collision recap for March 16, 2024

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats Katsuyori Shibata with a crucifix pin. Both men show good sportsmanship after the match.

Julia Hart retains the TBS Championship against Trish Adora. Under House Rules, the loser of this match will not be able to go out with their team later tonight in the Tag Team Tournament Wild Card Match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Harley Cameron and Zak Knight. Zak Knight thinks "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker fighting him is a joke and that he will not give him the home field advantage in Canada. Harley proceeds to make fun of Canada, then Zak Knight says the match will happen on his terms.

"Daddy Magic" Matt Menard guests on commentary for the next match.

Daniel Garcia beats "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty with a heel hook after wearing down the left leg during the match.

It is announced that Bullet Club Gold ("Switchblade" Jay White, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) injured Darby Allin's foot following Darby Allin vs. Jay White on Dynamite and that Darby Allin will be out of action for some time. (This also puts Darby's trip to Mount Everest on hold.)

PAC beats Aaron Solo with the Black Arrow followed by the Brutalizer. After the match, PAC tells Tony Khan that he is back and looking for trouble, then says Aaron Solo is not what he had in mind and demands some or else he will find it himself.

Backstage, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson says that he is thankful he was able to wrestle Katsuyori Shibata tonight, as they were both told that they would never wrestle again, yet they fought like hell tonight. He is also thankful that he has a match with Will Ospreay coming up at Dynasty, and he has hard what Ospreay has had to say. Danielson says Ospreay has been emulating him, but he will never be able to walk in his shoes as he has not been on death's door. He says that Ospreay can keep talking about what he is willing to do, because he knows what he can do and he thinks Ospreay is not ready for that yet.

Claudio Castagnoli vs. Lance Archer ends in a no-contest after The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) rush into the ring to attack Claudio. Bryan Danielson runs into the ring to make the save, but the numbers game catches up. All of a sudden, Katsuyori Shibata shows up with a metal folding chair and chases Archer and The Righteous out of the ring.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Ruby Soho and "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker. Angelo says he does not know what to think right now, as Ottawa is a second home to him and he wants a fight now. Ruby says Harley Cameron and Zak Knight want to bait him in, and if he looks for a fight, it will be without her. Angelo apologizes and lets it go for tonight.

Kyle O'Reilly beats "The Outlaw" Bryan Keith with the arm bar following the sheer drop brainbuster in his first match in almost two years. After the match, Undisputed Kingdom celebrate with O'Reilly.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo and Thunder Rosa. Purrazzo says the enemy of an enemy is a friend, and while they have never tagged, they have faced each other, and she trusts Thunder Rosa. She says that Toni Storm tapped out, and if it were not for Luther and Mariah May, she would be champion. Thunder Rosa mentions that she never lost the title, and says that if Toni and Mariah want drama, they will get it, and they will stop all the games and jokes.

The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) beat The House of Black (Brody King and Buddy Matthews) in a World Tag Team Tournament Wild Card Match to qualify for the tournament. As per pre-match stipulation from the TBS Championship match, Trish Adora is banned from ringside for this match. During the match, Mark Briscoe shows up and hits Buddy Matthews with a chair, then runs out of the ring and gets Brody King to chase him through the crowd, and a laid out Shawn Dean drapes an arm over Buddy Matthews to win and advance. After the match, Malakai Black shows up and stares down Mark Briscoe.

We see another video package of the events leading to Adam Copeland vs. Christian Cage in an "I Quit" Match for the TNT Championship next week on Dynamite.

Adam Copeland heads to the ring with the box with the word "Spike" on it. Copeland talks about how he always through Christian Cage was his best friend of 40 years, then says "Jay is dead" and that he has "become Christian Cage," and that it was professional wrestling that cemented their friendship. He says that they crushed their dreams and thought that they would be friends after their careers, and that he came to AEW to retire with Christian, not to take his shine and shadow his accomplishments. Copeland admits he failed before and that he is not used to repeated failures, and when he earned his title shot, The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Killswitch, Mama Wayne) took him out. He then says that he got a phone call and was remind of who he was, then opens up the box and pulls out "Spike," a 4x4 with nails sticking out of it. Copeland says that a call from Mick Foley reminded him of who he was, that there is a dark side to him that Christian has never seen, and that next week, he will make Christian say that he quits after he takes everything from him. He then says that 40 years after it started, it ends in their hometown.
