Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for March 6, 2024

Tony Schiavone interviews Swerve Strickland in the ring to start tonight's show. When asked what is next for him, he asks what his house is without the keys, especially when he came up short at Revolution, and brings back his vow that he would give his all and become AEW World Champion when he signed his AEW contract. Swerve thinks is karma for some of his earlier actions in AEW and feels that he has some doubt running through his head that he should settle for being "a role player," and the fans chant "You deserve it!" He says that something about Sunday felt different and it felt like people were truly rooting for him for the first time and wanted him to win and make history, even coming in from his home state of Washington to see it happen. Swerve says that for this, he will not let the fans down. He says nothing changes from this point on, and warns Samoa Joe that he is coming for him. Suddenly, Samoa Joe shows up and Swerve is "talking funny" for somebody who just got beat down and is making promises to the fans he will never keep. Joe tells Swerve that his house exists in his world, and says that instead of disappointing people about how he is almost a champion, he decided to show up and let the fans gaze upon an actual world champion. As Joe spins around, Swerve warns Joe not to turn his back on him and reminds him that he has yet to beat him, then dares Joe to put the world title on the line tonight before deciding they might as well do this right now. Suddenly, Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong, Wardlow) shows up, and Adam Cole says the only story worth talking about after Revolution is them now that Roderick Strong is International Champion and Taven and Bennett are still ROH World Tag Team Champions. Adam Cole then says Wardlow will challenge for and win the AEW World Championship and put it in its rightful place. Swerve laughs and reminds Adam Cole lost at every opportunity he had at the world title and laughs at his "Dr. Claw" management role before saying that if he needs more clients, he has Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.'s number. Cole then proposes that Undisputed Kingdom might as well fight Joe and Swerve. Swerve is for it, but Cole says Swerve does not make the rules. Suddenly, Tony Schavione gets word from Tony Khan that the match is official and if happening now.

Samoa Joe and Swerve Strickland beat Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) with Swerve doing all the work. After the match, Wardlow is seen approaching the ring, and Joe sneaks up on Swerve from behind and puts him down with a sleeper while looking dead at Wardlow.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Hook. Chris Jericho suddenly walks up and talks about how his first ECW opponent was Hook's father, Taz, who dumped him on his head. He says he feels he has a connection with him yet never respected him until he dumped him on his head, and congratulates him on that. Both men fist bump.

Backstage, we hear from The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson). Nicholas says they have two huge announcements, and Matthew says that they will make them in the ring later tonight.

Hook retains the FTW Championship against "The Machine" Brian Cage with Redrum. After the match, Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) show up from out of nowhere and attack Hook from behind, then Chris Jericho shows up with a baseball bat. Bishop Kaun flees, but Toa Liona gets hit with the bat.

It is announced that the AEW World Tag Team Championships will be vacated and that a tournament will decide who will become the new tag team champions.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor, Trent Beretta). Orange Cassidy says he will do the same thing he always does and fill his backpack with another championship. Chuck Taylor says it high time that they win the tag team titles, and while he is still not medically cleared, Orange and Trent Beretta can win the big one.

Christian Cage guests on commentary for the next match.

Killswitch beats "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard. After the match, Killswitch goes for a choke slam, but Daniel Garcia runs into the right and fights him. "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne gets in the ring to fight Garcia, and that allows Killswitch to down Garcia with a big boot so that Wayne can hit Wayne's World. As The Patriachy (Christian Cage, Killswitch, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Mother Wayne) celebrates on the ramp, Adam Copeland suddenly shows up from behind and chokes Nick Wayne out. Mother Wayne goes for a low blow, but Copeland catches it and chases Christian Cage through the crowd. Christian Cage runs out of the building, steals an SUV, and drives off. Copeland says this has to end where it started, and in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on March 20th, they will face off for the TNT Championship in an "I Quit" Match.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Kyle O'Reilly. O'Reilly says that he did not think he would ever wrestle again, and to be cleared and get a second chance at what he's been good at, he has been grateful. He says he has nothing but love for Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong, Wardlow), but he has fallen so far down the mountain he has no idea what path to take, and that he has to do things on his own.

Tony Schiavone interviews The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) in the ring. Nicholas yanks the microphone from Tony Schiavone's microphone and boots him out of the ring as soon as he brings up their loss as Revolution before declaring that Sting and Darby Allin cheated. After declaring that they are still EVPs and that they have ended Sting's career, Nicholas states they will be in the upcoming tag team tournament to take back the tag team titles. Matthew then says that there is some housecleaning to be done, and to show that there is no favoritism in the locker room, they have no choice but to suspend "Hangman" Adam Page from The Elite indefinitely without pay for his actions at Revolution. Matthew also brings up Kenny Omega, saying that Omega has failed to make his dates for no reason and that they have no choice but to fire him. As Matthew is about to make another announcement, Eddie Kingston shows up and dares The Young Bucks to fire him for talking crap about him. This soon leads to The Young Bucks ganging up on Eddie and attacking him. Before they can hit Eddie with the EVP-Trigger, Kazuchika Okada shows up, but instead of helping Eddie, he hits him with the Rainmaker before being announced as the newest member of The Elite.

Riho beats Kris Statlander with a roll-up to counter multiple deadlift suplexes after Stokely Hathaway tosses a chain in the ring only for Statlander to toss it out.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Timeless" Toni Storm, Mariah May and Luther. Toni says "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo had no chance of winning her title and that the "Toni Awards" are coming up. It is also announced that Mariah May has a shirt on AEWShop.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Stokely Hathaway and Willow Nightingale. Stokely says Kris Statlander wants to do things her way when she should be getting help from those she loves. Upon finding out that she will face Riho next week, she tells Stokely to do things her way before saying she can beat Riho and that she has her sights set on Juila Hart and the TBS Championship.

Tony Schavione interviews Darby Allin in the ring. When asked about what is next for him, Darby talks about how things have changed for him in five years and that he has given Sting the closer to his career that he deserves. He says that he has "Switchblade" Jay White at Big Business before going to climb Mount Everest later this month, and thanks the fans and AEW for giving him this dream in case he does not come back alive. He says that if next week is his last match, so be it, then congratulates the next team to win the AEW World Tag Team Championships, as he will never be able to replace Sting. Suddenly, Bullet Club Gold shows up. Jay White says he did not want to interrupt anything, but he says Darby Allin is so weird and elusive that he wanted to congratulate him for winning on Sunday and proving he would sacrifice himself to ensure Sting retired a champion while he still could. He also calls Darby Allin crashing through the glass and leaving Sting to fight by himself "stupid" and that he does not care much about the talk about their match, and that Darby is now "a lost puppy" without Sting. He says this match does not need to happen much like how Darby never had to jump off the ladder into a pane of glass and that nobody would think any less of Darby after all he has been through. Jay White then warns Darby that if he gets in the ring with him, he will encounter more than a few scratches, and instead of a match, they and "Darby Scissorhands" can hang out together backstage. Darby says that Jay White has done so much in Japan only to come to All Elite Wrestling to play with cardboard cutouts, and tells him that if he is so confident in his abilities, he had better come to the ring alone. Darby holds Jay White at bay with Sting's baseball bat, then tells him he will see him at Big Business.

We hear from Julia Hart and Skye Blue, who says that the worst feeling is being forgotten and that Willow Nightingale has forgotten who she is. She says she will hold an open house for anyone who needs reminding who the TBS Champion is.

We hear from The House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King, Buddy Matthews, Julia Hart). Buddy Matthews says that they will set Mark Briscoe ablaze. Brody King says The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) has left them with scars that they will not forget and that next week, history will repeat itself. Malakai Black says that they will inflict a lot of pain upon him. Renee Paquette then interviews Mark Briscoe backstage. He says that he has walked through the fire and fears no evil, and that he will face The House of Black himself. Jay Lethal shows up and says it is time to man up and help his friend of twenty years. Mark warns him not to bring Jeff Jarrett, but Jay says he will not be there and that Mark only has to trust him.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Will Ospreay beats Kyle Fletcher. After the match, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson shows up and stares down Will Ospreay to end the show.
