At The Derby - Derby City Wrestling recap for April 16, 2023

The show begins with an announcement from UWN representative Jonny Loquasto dedicating this week's episode to those affected by the senseless acts of violence in Louisville, and hopes that this show provides levity and enjoyment during this time.

David Marquez interviews Billie Starks and Marti Belle, who are in today's main event. Marti says she is proud of Billie and everything that she has accomplished, and while Billie is big in Japan, she is "still a kid" in Derby City Wrestling. Billie says that Marti has been doing this for a while and that she watched her as a kid, but she is a whole different monster and that she has made her brand, and Marti is fighting a wrestler, not a kid.

"The Blood Thief" Count Noctis beats Damien Chambers after rolling Chambers up on his shoulders during an arm bar to pin him. After the match, Jaden Dominic Rose runs into the ring and attacks Count Noctis. Chambers stops him at first, then both men gang up on Noctis before leaving.

Gangrel vs. "Outlandish" Zicky Dice for the United Heritage Championship is replayed.

Backstage, Sean Phillips interviews The Boys (Brandon and Brent Tate). Both of them pass the microphone to each other when asked about their match.

David Marquez interviews Danny Limelight. Limelight says he does not respect Moose for calling himself "a wrestling god" and proclaiming the United World Championship is already his, and while Moose will make an impact here and in the United Wrestling Network, so will he, and he will be damned if Moose does not take the title from him without wiping his feet at the doormat. He also mentions what Rocco Bellagio had to say last week, and while it makes sense why "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero wants to co-sign Rocco, Rocco is holding on to history from the past while he makes history everywhere he goes as a fighting champion. He says that after he is done with Rocco, he will deal with Moose as well as any comers for the World title.

Lord Crewe - accompanied by "Dead Ringer" Aaron Williams - quickly beats Beck Reeves. After the match, Lord Crewe tells Willie Mack that it is far from over between them.

Backstage, Sean Phillips interviews "Outlandish" Zicky Dice. After bringing up Zicky Dice stealing wrist tape and pulling fire alarms, Zicky Dice says that wrist tape was his and accuses Rip Rogers of pulling the alarms as a rib. Zicky then says he is setting up a "super squad" as it is his time to get all the action deals, movie poster and television deals. He then says that unless Phillips is willing to watch his back, this interview is over.

David Marquez interviews Dylan Bostic, who says he is out here because he wants an answer from "The Pope" Elijah Burke. "The Pope" shows up and confronts Bostic, and both men brawl, with referees and other wrestlers quickly holding both men back.

Marti Belle beats Billie Starkz after getting the knees up to block the Swanton Bomb. Both women hug in a show of respect after the match.
