Winter Is Coming - Dynamite recap for December 15, 2021

Bryan Danielson vs. "Hangman" Adam Page for the AEW World Championship ends in a 60-minute time limit draw. "Hangman" Adam Page retains the AEW World Championship.

We hear from The Superkliq (Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Adam Cole) and Bobby Fish. Adam Cole asks when Best Friends will learn not to mess with them, because last week, they destroyed them not once but twice and proved Best Friends cannot hang with them. Bobby Fish says that every time they face them, they divide and conquer, and proposes an eight-man tag match. Matt and Nick Jackson like the idea, then proposes they pull Sue out of her minivan and superkick her. Cole says that as good as a holiday idea it is, he announces that next week, they will get the best Christmas present ever.

Wardlow beats Matt Sydal following three powerbombs. After the match, Shawn Spears hits Matt Sydal with a chair, then gets a call from MJF, who asks Wardlow to buy the champagne for his post-match celebration.

We see a video package chronicling the rivalry between Tay Conti and Penelope Ford. Tay Conti challenges Penelope Ford to a submission match, and Penelope Ford accepts, saying she does not need brass knuckles to win.

We hear from Malakai Black, who says that while the bricks, the mortar and the foundation makes a house strong, the people within it are the bricks, mortar and foundation. He also says that a foundation needs ideals such as human nature is violent and that embracing violence is key to understand who one is. He says there is not a more destructive species that is more intentionally cruel to each other than humanity, and that the past is not a crutch, but an arrow. He also says that he will not question the teachings of the house of Black and appreciate its blessing no matter how descrutcive it. He says that this can only be done by placing the house before anything else, and while not everyone will grasp the concept of the teachings one bestows to others, through agony, the house will make them strong, as the house is bigger than anything. Throughout this, he converts a follower with black mist.

Hikaru Shida beats Serena Deeb after sending Serena into a turnbuckle that Serena exposed.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.). Griff Garrison says that last week, Malakai Black attacked Julia Hart and left her crying before he disappeared. Garrison says that Malakai Black that he is a coward, and after Brian Pillman Jr. tells Garrison that this is what Malakai Black wants, Garrison says that if Brian will not fight this battle, he will. Garrison then tells Malakai Black that he will break his jaw.

We see a vignette for Hook's debut on Rampage last week.

We hear from Eddie Kingston, who says that 2point0 (Jeff Parker and Matt Lee) and Daniel Garcia are in his way, and says it will be him, Proud 'n Powerful (Santana and Ortiz) and The Lucha Bros. (Penta el Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) vs. 2point0, Garcia and whoever they pick, and says that he will come after Garcia personally.

Before the next match, MJF says that tonight's venue is a dump before saying "Hey, Texas! Your daughter swallows!" He also says that Texas would like him better if he were more like them - "anti-education and pro-incest" - before calling out CM Punk for saying he uses low-hanging fruit. He says that the moment CM Punk got nervous, the first thing he did was "Your sports team sucks!" for ten straight minutes, and says that he likes the part where CM Punk told him to stop running and face him, saying CM Punk's winning streak against "underwhelming opponents" does not mean he is championship material; it just means he is "the new Ryback." He says that he will beat "Hangman" Adam Page just like he will beat Dante Martin, and says that while Dante is a great wrestler, he will not pretend to care for the younger talent like CM Punk, saying he is the only good younger talent that matters. MJF also says that while Dante Martin has the talent and verbal skills of Helen Keller on Quaaludes, he can beat him with a headlock takeover, as he does not have to claim he is the best in the world simply because he just is.

MJF beats Dante Martin to win the Dynamite Diamond Ring for a third time. During the match, MJF's foot is placed on the bottom rope by "Absolute" Ricky Starks, which the ref notices. As the referee tells Starks to head to the back, Dante Martin is distraction, and this allows MJF to lock in The Salt of the Earth for the win. After the match, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) show up and celebrate with MJF, then the lights go out. When they come back on, Darby Allin and Sting show up and push MJF off FTR's shoulders before brawling with FTR. MJF hits Sting with a low blow, allowing the numbers game to take over before CM Punk runs into the ring with a metal pipe and forces MJF and FTR to retreat. CM Punk then challenges FTR and MJF to a six-man tag match against him, Sting and Darby Allin next week.
