Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for December 8, 2021

MJF's theme plays to start tonight's show, but CM Punk comes out instead. CM Punk heads to the ring, makes fun of the fans for not being loud and the Islanders having yet to win a home game in tonight's venue, then says that he delivers unlike MJF. He removes his jacket to reveal an AEW "four pillars" shirt - with none of the pillars being MJF and one of them being Britt Baker, D.M.D. - and says MJF isn't even as good as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper in "Hell Comes To Frogtown." Punk also talks about MJF taking off his sportscoat only to run away from him, then says he is taken aback about MJF being Long Island, New York's "guy," and while he is not mad at the fans, he feels a little bit sorry for them. Punk then says he has his eye on next week's AEW World Championship and says that he wants next, as does MJF, but he says he must settle what is going between him and MJF before going for the World title. He says he has tried twice to get MJF in the ring only for MJF to ring, and proposes that they settle things, especially after MJF had the audacity to bring his dog Larry - who he says has more balls than MJF despite being neutered - into things. Punk says he wants MJF one-on-one in the ring and he wants him to stand and fight like they do in Chicago, Illinois, and he does not have an out for this and neither does MJF, saying he will do this tonight. He then says that if MJF is still Long Island's guy after this, then the fans in Long Island are all "chicken shit."

We see footage of someone driving around in a white Ferrari. We see MJF climb out of the Ferrari as a narrator paints MJF as a hero, then MJF puts on a Plainview Football varsity jacket that he pulls out of the track before walking onto a football field. After MJF's high school accolades are listed off by the narrator, MJF kisses the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Dante Martin and MJF are the last two standing in the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal after Dante Martin last eliminates "Absolute" Ricky Starks and rips off his Team Taz armband. Both men will face each other for the Dynamite Diamond Ring next week. After the match, MJF and Dante Martin shake hands, then MJF raises Dante Martin's hand. As MJF leaves, Ricky Starks gets back in the ring and attacks Dante Martin. MJF is torn as to what to do, then teases heading back to the back before confronting Starks. Starks and MJF then gang up on Dante Martin and attack him. CM Punk then gets in the ring and confronts Starks as MJF retreats. Dante Martin then hits Starks with an enzuigiri before Punk nails Starks with the GTS.

Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) and The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) beat The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and 2point0 (Jeff Parker and Matt Lee) after Eddie Kingston pulls Daniel Garcia off the apron and Jungle Boy makes Caster submit to the Snare Trap. After the match, Eddie Kingston takes a cameraman to the back, and Ortiz has to calm Eddie Kingston down. 2point0 and Daniel Garcia gang up on Ortiz and Eddie Kingston, and referees rush in to break up the brawl.

Backstage, Tully Blanchard says FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) have been AEW World Tag Team Champions once and will be them again, then says it is time to put their war with The Lucha Brothers (Penta el Zero Miedo and Rey Fenix) to bed. Wheeler says The Lucha Brothers' lone win was a fluke, and says "no more." Harwood says that on Friday, they will become the first-ever two-time AEW tag champs and become the greatest tag team of all time.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) beat CHAOS (Chuck Taylor and Rocky Romero). After the match, The Young Bucks attack Rocky, Chucky and Orange Cassidy. Wheeler Yuta rushes into the ring, but he soon gets superkicked by The Young Bucks. The Young Bucks then hold Orange Cassidy down so Adam Cole can hit Orange with the Sunset Bomb, but as they all go for a BTE-Trigger on Orange, Sue drives in on her minivan, and Trent returns for the first time in months. Trent becomes a one-man army and decimates Adam Cole, The Young Bucks and Brandon Cutler, then Trent, Sue, Rocky and the rest of Best Friends (Yuta, Chucky, Orange, Kris Statlander) hug in the middle of the ring.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Ruby Soho. Suddenly, The Bunny and Penelope Ford show up and tell Ruby that according to "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose, they will be the first in line for title shots when Nyla wins the TBS title. They then challenge Ruby to a six-woman tag match. After Ruby says they don't have to wait until Friday after being called "Ruby Solo," Ruby attacks The Bunny and Penelope, and Nyla Rose joins in. Suddenly, Tay Conti and Anna Jay make the save for Ruby Soho with chairs.

Tony Schivone interviews Sammy Guevara on the stage. Suddenly, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes shows up, and after congratulating Guevara on doing well on his open challenges so far, announces that Sammy's next TNT Championship defense in the open challenge is against him. After Cody leaves, The Men of the Year (Scorpio Sky and "All Ego" Ethan Page) laugh at Sammy Guevara from the upper seats and mentions Cody skipping to the head of the line for the TNT title before mentioning that Dan Lambert helped him get a title shot and that Lambert is coming back. Scorpio Sky says that Sammy Guevara does not want to defend the TNT Championship against anyone in the rankings for it, then tells Schiavone to give him balls, not an interview, before telling Cody to stop saying he is a champion and prove he is one.

We see a video package for Thunder Rosa vs. Jade Cargill in the TBS Championship Tournament.

Riho beats Jamie Hayter. After the match, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. attacks Riho and puts her in the Lockjaw.

Taz announces that on Rampage, Hook will make his in-ring debut against Fuego del Sol.

Revolution will be pay-per-view on Sunday, March 6th, with Rampage on the 4th and a fanfest on the 5th.

We see a video package for Hikaru Shida vs. Serena Deeb next week on Dynamite.

Tony Schiavone interviews The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) on the stage, then the lights suddenly go out. When they come back, Malakai Black is on the stage, and he spits black mist into Julia Hart's eyes.

Bryan Danielson beats John Silver with the Lebell Lock after knocking him out with a Gotch-style piledriver. After the match, Bryan Danielson realizes he did not kick Silver's head in, then says he will kick "Hangman" Adam Page's head in next week. He then proceeds to kick Silver's head in. Page runs into the ring and chases Danielson out of it, then tells Danielson he will "stomp the cowboy shit out of [him]."
