Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for December 16, 2021

Ace Austin beats Hernandez in the BTI match.

In memory of James "Jimmy Rave" Guffey, 1982 - 2021.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats Rohit Raju despite Rohit Raju targeting his ribs during the match and the interference by Raj Singh.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner) and The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson). Karl Anderson says that as tag team champions, everyone is gunning for him and Doc Gallows, and when Eric Young had a plan to take out the top contenders, they took it, but they do not trust Violent By Design. Doc Gallows says that he will keep their friends close and their enemies closers. Eric Young says trust is a tricky word and also impossible when you are at the top, then says that this is by design and that The Good Brothers will set the tone tonight and show what violence is all about.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Chelsea Green. Chelsea says that the Knockouts Ultimate X Match is historical and that she will be walking out as #1 contender, and when she does, Matt Cardona walk out as Impact World Champion. Moose suddenly shows up and wishes Chelsea luck, then says he was wrong about her before giving her props for sticking with a man who is and always will be a mid-carder. Chelsea notes that Moose is talking trash to her because he is scared of Cardona, and says she cannot wait for him to sign the title away in tonight's contract signing. Moose then mentions her wedding to Matt Cardona, saying it will be a short wedding even by wedding standards.

Joe Doering and "The Big LG" Doc Gallows beat Rich Swann and Willie Mack. Heath and Rhino accompany Swann and Mack to the ring before the match and stay in their corner throughout. After the match, Violent By Design and The Good Brothers attack Heath, Rhino, Swann and Mack, then Eddie Edwards runs into the ring with a Kendo stick and cleans house against Violent By Design and The Good Brothers.

Backstage, VSK and Zicky Dice talk about speaking to Brian Myers again before Zicky Dice mentions he has set up a match for them against Decay (Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus). VSK tells Zicky Dice that he had better be sober again, and Zicky promises not to drink any more...or less.

We hear from Jonah, who talks about how his father did a stint in prison and got popped in the back of the head and earned the respect of the dog. Jonah says Josh Alexander could have gotten his respect the same way, but he got back up. Jonah says he will beat Alexander again and again until he respects him, and says that if Josh Alexander is a walking weapon, then he is mass destruction.

Trey Miguel beats John Skyler. After the match, Trey is attacked from behind by Steve Maclin, who then lays Trey out with the X Division Championship before dragging him to the back.

After the commercial break, Trey Miguel wakes up bound with his eyes blindfolded and a rag in his mouth. He hears Steve Maclin says that being told "no" will not stop him, and says that if he can him like this, he can get him anywhere. Steve Maclin then says he thought Trey had more friends than this, but it looks like he is the only one.

Chris Bey beats Laredo Kid with a cutter on a mid-air Laredo Kid following a backflip off the top rope.

"The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo's appearance and challenge to Rok-C for the Ring Of Honor Women's World Championship at Final Battle is shown. We then see footage from earlier today where Mickie James is met by Deonna, and security guards stand by as Mickie and Deonna have a war of words. As Mickie heads further into the building, she is suddenly attacked from behind by Deonna, and security has to hold them back. Later, Scott D'Amore and Gail Kim meet with Mickie and Deonna. They reinstate a no-contact clause that also includes Matthew Rehwoldt, and Gail Kim states that they will settle things in a Texas Death Match, which Mickie likes the sound of.

We see a vignette for Masha Slamovich.

Tenille Dashwood beats Jessie McKay after Kaleb pulls the referee out of a pinfall attempt by Jessie, causing Cassie to slap Kaleb, Madison to hit Cassie and Jessie to hit Madison from behind only for Tenille to hit the Spotlight Kick for the win.

Scott D'Amore is in the ring to moderate a contract signing between Matt Cardona, W. Morrissey and Moose for the Impact World Championship match at Hard To Kill. W. Morrissey is introduced first, followed by Matt Cardona, followed by Moose. Matt Cardona is accompanied by Chelsea Green on the way to the ring. Scott D'Amore says that since Matt Cardona debuted in Impact, he has been here with a purpose, and that he has a chance to make that purpose a reality after one year by winning the world title. When D'Amore gives Cardona a chance to sign the contract, W. Morrissey takes it and says that everyone in the signing will use this as an opportunity to play mind games, but he is here to become world champion, not make friends or play games. Morrissey says at Hard To Kill, this is exactly what he will do, and then he signs the contract and leaves. Cardona says that Morrissey is not wrong, as the last few weeks have been trash talk, mind games and sneak attacks, and says there is nobody in the business who has been counted out and come back more times than him. He says that he is hard to kill and that his passion is impossible to kill, and while he is always ready, he is never mode ready than he has ever been for Hard To Kill. Cardona signs the contract. Moose asks Cardona if he really wants to step into the ring with the greatest world champion in all of professional wrestling, but Cardona says the more Moose delays this, the more he proves that he is scared Cardona will beat him. Moose says that Cardona will fail like he always does and prove he is always a mid-carder, then Cardona tells him to sign the contract. Moose signs the contract, then tells Cardona he has a tough challenge ahead of him. He also says Chelsea has a tough challenge ahead of him and mentions giving her props for her loyalty to Cardona, saying she sees so much in Cardona and thinks he could be a top guy in the business one day. He then says that he will crush their dreams and prove that Cardona will always be "Mid-Cardona", then asks Chelsea if she will stay with Cardona or leave like the whore she is. Cardona tries to attack Moose, but Moose lays Cardona out and puts him through the table. Cardona tries to attack Moose, but Moose lays Cardona out and puts him through the table. As Scott D'Amore yells at Moose, Moose heads back into the ring, pushes Chelsea down and punches Cardona before wrapping a chair around his head. Chelsea tries to stop Moose, but Moose pulls the chair away and shoves Chelsea back. Cardona gets up and swings a chair at Moose, but ends up hitting Chelsea instead. Referees, Cardona, D'Amore and security check on Chelsea as the show ends.
