Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for December 2, 2021

Jake Something beats Hikuleo in the BTI match.

Matt Cardona heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Cardona says Turning Point was "a hell of a show," then mentions how W. Morrissey cost him a win by shoving him into the referee before Moose got in the ring and Speared him. He says that he was close to beating Moose at Bound For Glory and that Moose knows what he is capable of, and that he is here for the Impact World Championship. As Cardona tells Moose that he is here to beat him, Moose shows up. Moose notes that Cardona has accomplished much in his eighteen-year career and that everyone knows who he is, then tells him not to overshoot all that as he is "not that guy" and will never be a top guy in the business. Moose then asks Cardona if he really wants to step into the ring with him, and promises that it will lost as long as his Intercontinental Championship run. After asking if that makes him mad, he says he is nothing more than a mid-carder. After Moose says he should change his name of "Mid-Cardona," Cardona dares him to call him that one more time. He does, and Cardona slaps the mic out of his hand before beating him up. Suddenly, W. Morrissey gets into the ring and brawls with Cardona. Cardona holds his own, but the numbers game eventually takes over. As Moose and Eddie are about to lay Cardona out, Eddie Edwards gets in the ring to make the save for Cardona, and he and Cardona clean house and force Moose and Morrissey to retreat. Cardona then raises the Impact World title over his head.

We hear from Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner). Eric Young says Turning Point turned up for us, and that Violent By Design is the most powerful thing and a powerful family, and that Rhino learned the hard way that nobody leaves Violent By Design. He says there is a design, and that it will be violent.

As Scott D'Amore mentions the upcoming Knockouts Ultimate X Match, Tasha Steelz shows up with Savannah Evans and says they are the only competition around. As Tasha and Savannah calls Jordynne and Rachael losers, D'Amore puts both sides in another match tonight.

In backstage footage from last week, Matthew Rehowldt meets with Chris Sabin about taking something negative in Ace Austin's shirt about him and turning it into a positive, then says he wants to see more of his creativity first-hand. Sabin, seeing this as a challenge, accepts.

D'Amore says he has one opportunity, but that he may not want it. Vidal still wants it, and finds out that he is facing Jonah tonight.

He says he showed up in New Japan to stand face-to-face with Moose, and says that he deserves to be World Champion. As for "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander, he has heard from everyone that Alexander is the best wrestler in the world and says that to be the best, one must go through the top dog.

We see a video package chronicling the three-way match for the X Division Championship at Turning Point.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Trey Miguel, who says that he feels good about retaining the X Division Championship. However, he wanted to do that by beating Steve Maclin, and that did not happen. He calls pinning or submitting Maclin his biggest challenge to date, then Maclin suddenly rushes at Trey Miguel and attacks him before throwing a tool box at him. A security guard tries to stop the brawl, but he gets laid out by Maclin, who proceeds to choke Trey Miguel out with a power guard. This time three security guards come at Miguel and hold him back, but Trey Miguel gets away and dives at Maclin from above.

Throwback Throwdown II is on Impact Plus on December 18th!

Backstage, "Outlandish" Zicky Dice and VSK call Brian Myers and tell him that they have gotten a tag team match with FinJuice (Juice Robinson and David Finlay) to get things back on track. Throughout the phone call, Myers hangs up on Zicky Dice for having his number after getting it from Cardona's phone, then hangs up on VSK after Zicky asks Myers "How's the scrotum?"

Backstage, Moose talks with W. Morrissey, telling him that they have to stop Matt Cardona. Morrissey says he fails to see how that benefits him, but Moose says that if Cardona gets the World title, Morrissey won't get a shot at it. Rich Swann and Willie Mack beat Violent By Design (Joe Doering and Deaner). After the match, Deaner, Doering and Eric Young attack Rich Swann and Willie Mack, then Rhino and Heath show up and clean house, forcing Deaner, Doering and Eric Young to retreat.

Backstage, Johnny Swinger tells Hernandez he has not been this happy for a long time, then Rohit Raju and Raj Singh try to sell Hernandez some cryptocurrency. As Rohit says he and Singh weren't invited to Wrestle House because they are not friends, Lawrence D shows up and syas they were not invited because he did not want their riff-raff. Rohit tells Lawrence D that since he was gone, he became X Division Champion. Lawrence D tells Rohit he can show him how good he is in a match next week before spraying himself with Ring Rust.

Eddie Edwards and Matt Cardona beat Moose and W. Morrissey after Cardona is able to counter the uranagi and roll up Moose. After the match, W. Morrissey lays Moose out with a big boot to the face.

After the show goes off the air, Scott D'Amore heads to the ring. After noting that things are not going Moose's way after how things have worked out like intended for the past several weeks, then mentions Matt Cardona telling him he wanted a shot at the Impact World Championship. He says that Cardona has proved himself tonight, but also mentions that W. Morrissey pinned Cardona at Turning Point and that Moose promised him a shot at the World Championship.
