Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for January 9, 2015

Seth Rollins shows up to start off the show. He re-views the look on John Cena's face at the end of Monday night's Raw with glee, knowing he manipulating him well as he continues the guilt-tripping started by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon concerning the firing of Dolph Ziggler, Erick Rowan and Ryback. After mentioning the Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Royal Rumble that he is now a part of, he asks for a ten-bell salute for the "lackluster" careers of Ziggler, Ryback and Rowan. Midway through the ten-bell salute, Roman Reigns shows up and tells Rollins he's full of crap before beating him and J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) up in record time. As they retreat, Big Show and Kane show up. Kane makes a match between Roman Reigns and the team of Seth Rollins and Big Show...unless he can find a tag team partner that would risk being in the disfavor of The Authority. Big Show threatens to knock out both Reigns and his potential partner, assuming he can find one.

The Miz and Damien Mizdow ask Kane for a straight tag team match for the WWE Tag Team Championships against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). When they get it, Miz asks Mizdow for water, and Damien Sandow accidentally splashes Kane's suit with the water from the water bottle. Kane takes back that straight two-on-two match and makes it a Triple Threat Match again.

Big E beats Adam Rose.

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) beat two random guys.

Alicia Fox uses the ropes to beat Naomi.

Bray Wyatt talks about his Ambulance Match win on Raw earlier this week, then announces he will be in the Royal Rumble match.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) retain the WWE Tag Team Championships against Gold & Stardust (Goldust and Stardust) and The Miz and Damien Mizdow in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match.

After making fun of the fact that Dolph Ziggler is fired and cannot have his championship rematch against him, Bad News Barrett announces that he will be entering the Royal Rumble match.

Sin Cara beats Bad News Barrett. After the match, Barrett attacks Sin Cara and lands the Bull Hammer.

Daniel Bryan returns to action next week on SmackDown!
