Royal Rumble 2015 - The LIVE Results

Backstage, Tom Phillips interviews The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). Road Dogg says that they, The APA (Faarooq and JBL) and the nWo put a stitch in The Ascension's (Konnor and Viktor) lip, and that the lesson continues tonight. On the question of age versus experience, Road Dogg Billy Gunn says that age is a question of mind over matter, while Road Dogg says they don't mind and The Ascension doesn't matter. After Road Dogg says talk is cheap, both he and Billy Gunn argue over whether Gunn should use the "If you're not down with that" catchphrase before plugging the WWE Network.

Cesaro and Tyson Kidd beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E).

Tom Phillips interviews Dolph Ziggler, Ryback and Erick Rowan in the Social Media Lounge. Ryback says that when you tell your life story to get to WWE and it is all taken away, it is a horrible feeling, but it only makes him hungrier. Ziggler says he was rooting for John Cena on Raw, and says he, Ryback and Rowan deserve to be where the best are. Rowan says stuff is thrown at him, and frustration is starting to kick in a little bit. He says it is not just how you handle a situation, but what you do about it. Ryback says the biggest challenge going into the Royal Rumble Match is outlasting everyone else, and Ziggler agrees.

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) beat The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn).

Backstage, WWE COO Triple H and WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon discuss Sting's appearance on Raw, and Stephanie says that Sting's sudden appearances are not going to work in WWE and that they must take care of Sting here and now. Triple H tells Stephanie that this is his house and that he will defend it, and that he will destroy Sting the next time he shows up. Paul Heyman interrupts, saying he can solve all their problems by letting Brock Lesnar take care of them.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) retain the WWE Tag Team Championships against The Miz and Damien Mizdow.

Joey Mercury is enjoying WWE Immortals, but Seth Rollins doesn't like the idea of him and Jamie Noble playing games before the biggest match of his career, as he wants them focused so he can leave as WWE World Heavyweight Champion. He also states that he is tired of hearing that he is the future, and considers himself the "right now."

The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) beat Paige and Natalya after Brie Bella keeps Paige from tagging in.

We hear from Roman Reigns, who talks about beating Kane's record for most eliminations in a Royal Rumble Match last year before stating that winning the match is all that matters this year. We then hear from Goldust and Stardust. Stardust says the celestial bodies are in alignment and that it is written across the sky that a "son of dust" has the key in grasp, to which Goldust agrees. We then hear from Rusev and Lana. Rusev says his rise to power will be complete tonight, and that he will crush whoever the WWE World Heavyweight Champion will be at WrestleMania. We then hear from The Miz and Damien Mizdow. Miz says this is the year where he becomes an even bigger international movie star when he wins the Royal Rumble match while Mizdow parrots his every word and action. We then hear from Big Show, who says that Brock Lesnar tried to make him look mortal last week before stating that he is a giant, not a mortal, and that he is in an angry, vicious, motivated giant. We hear from Fandango and Rosa Mendes. Rosa asks if Fandango understands what is at stake before Fandango proclaims that the spotlight will soon be theirs and that the roster underestimates the sheer power of the tango but will learn soon enough. We then hear from Daniel Bryan, who says that he will repeat history this year.

Brock Lesnar retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match against John Cena and Seth Rollins after fighting through a broken rib suffered midway through the match after being splashed through an announce table by Rollins.

#19 Roman Reigns wins the Royal Rumble, last eliminating #15 Rusev, who tries to get a surprise elimination on Roman after staying outside of the ring after rolling out from under the bottom rope following a choke slam from Kane. This happens after Roman manages to eliminate Big Show and Kane, who are at odds which each other after Big Show tries to eliminate Kane as Kane tries to eliminate Roman. He eliminates them, then Big Show and Kane attack him. The Rock then shows up and fights Big Show and Kane off, then celebrates with Roman Reigns. Suddenly, Rusev comes out from underneath the ring and tries to attack Roman out from behind, but it fails, and Roman sends Rusev over the top rope. Roman is then showered with a chorus of boos, and The Rock raising Roman's arm in victory fails to help matters. After the matc, WWE COO and WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon show up and show their displeasure with Roman Reigns having won the Royal Rumble. During the match:

Bubba Ray Dudley makes a surprise entrance at #3. Interestingly, this is the very first time he has been in the Royal Rumble match despite competing in past Royal Rumble pay-per-views. After a What's Up with R-Truth onto The Miz, Bubba calls for R-Truth to get a table. The Miz stops R-Truth, but Bubba Ray and R-Truth hit The Miz and eliminate him with a Dudley Death Drop. He eliminates R-Truth shortly afterwards. Bubba Ray is eliminated a bit later on by #5 Bray Wyatt, who has a staredown with #4 Luke Harper until #6 Curtis Axel shows up only to be attacked by Erick Rowan, who is not an official entrant in the match. He, #4 Luke Harper and Wyatt all go at it with one another, but Bray Wyatt comes out on top when he eliminates both men at the same time.

The Boogeyman is a surprise entrant at #7, but he is quickly eliminated by Bray Wyatt.

After Bray Wyatt eliminates #8 Sin Cara, he grabs a microphone and tells the locker room that this is his year, then sings "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands" until #9 Zack Ryder - who is back from rotator cuff surgery - shows up only to quickly become Bray's fifth elimination.

Daniel Bryan enters at #10, but is the sixth man to be eliminated by Bray Wyatt, much to the complete anger of the crowd and the complete disappointment of Daniel Bryan.

Diamond Dallas Page is a surprise entrant at #14. He is eliminated by Rusev.

#17 Kofi Kingston escapes elimination by being caught by and carried back into the ring by the Rosebuds, and ducks to avoid being eliminated along with Adam Rose when Rusev tosses Adam Rose out of the ring as quickly as he shows up. Unfortunately, Rusev soon roundhouse kicks Kofi Kingston off the apron, eliminating him.

Damien Mizdow arrives at #21, but The Miz runs out and tells him to go to the back, as he is taking his spot. When Roman Reigns pushes Miz off the apron, Mizdow gets in the ring and competes only to be quickly eliminated by Rusev.

Titus O'Neil enters at #26 and is eliminated by both Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose in four seconds. (He is meant to be eliminated in less than one second, but Titus O'Neil botches going over the top rope.)

Bray Wyatt has the most eliminations in the match with seven, followed by Roman Reigns with six. Kane breaks "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels all-time cumulative eliminations record of 39 in this match, and brings it to 40.
