Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 5, 2015

The show starts with the Superstars and Divas in the ring. John Cena apologizes for bringing The Authority - Triple H and Stephanie McMahon - back, then Triple H and Stephanie show up. After saying that the WWE Universe was begging for them to come back, and saying that this is "The New Authority" with no ulterior motives, they introduce Seth Rollins, the mastermind behind their return. After Seth Rollins taunts John Cena and the rest of the locker room, Triple H announces that the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between John Cena and Brock Lesnar is now a Triple Threat match, as Seth Rollins is now part of the match. Stephanie McMahon then thanks Cena for her and Triple H returning by making tonight "John Cena Appreciation Night." Also, Dolph Ziggler is forced to defend his WWE Intercontinental Championship against "the man who never really lost it," Bad News Barrett. That match is up next.

Dolph Ziggler retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Bad News Barrett in an upset victory. Barrett responds by demolishing Ziggler in a post-match brawl. After this, Kane shows up in his suit and declares that the match is now a two-out-of-three falls match. Barrett hits Wasteland to win the second fall, and officials then have to check on Ziggler, who is now in a lot of pain from Barrett's previous bare knuckle offense.

Bad News Barrett beats Dolph Ziggler (who continues to go through the match despite the condition he's in) with the distraction from Kane to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship! The victory brings Barrett's total amount of Intercontinental title reigns to five.

Renee Young interviews Roman Reigns. Reigns plans to hit Big Show with a Superman Punch tonight.

Bray Wyatt has plans of putting Dean Ambrose in the ambulance tonight.

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) beat two random guys.

Rusev and Lana warn America to stay out of Russia's - and other countries' - business. They say Putin is the only one who can lead the world to peace.

Big Show vs. Roman Reigns ends after Show hits Reigns with the steel steps. Reigns is able to hit the Spear on Show before he can strike again, and the steel steps that Show is holding lands right on his head.

Before Natalya takes on Nikki Bella, Paige shows up and makes up with Natalya over the pot brownie prank from last night's episode of Total Divas.

Natalya beats Nikki Bella, thanks to Paige beating up Brie Bella outside the ring. After the match, Nikki attacks Nattie, but Paige makes the save and makes quick work of Nikki.

Dean Ambrose says that the Ambulance Match between him and Bray Wyatt will have no happy ending, and he plans to toss Wyatt into that ambulance tonight.

J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) are announced as being the special guest referees for the next match.

Luke Harper beats Erick Rowan when J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) botch the count on Erick Rowan's pinfall attempt, then give the fast count when Luke goes for the pin. After the match, all three of them attack Erick Rowan.

Alicia Fox meets up with and attacks Naomi backstage.

Bray Wyatt beats Dean Ambrose in an Ambulance Match.

The Miz, Damien Mizdow and Alicia Fox beat The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) and Naomi after The Miz grabs Jimmy's tights.

Kane shows up and says that Ryback vs. Seth Rollins is now a handicap match. It is now Kane and Rollins vs. Ryback.

Kane and Seth Rollins beat Ryback in a handicap match.

Paige takes on Nikki Bella tomorrow night on Main Event!

Adam Rose vs. Big E ends when two masked Rosebuds attack The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, Big E). They take their masks off only to reveal themselves as Cesaro and Tyson Kidd. Adam Rose, Cesaro and Kidd dance with the Exotic Express.

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon show up. They bring out John Cena, who shows up. Triple H says he was hard on Cena at the beginning, but that was because he saw some sort of greatness in him before anyone else. He then calls out Ryback, Erick Rowan and Dolph Ziggler, who all show up. Triple H and Stephanie consider suspending them for differing amounts of time (Rowan for 30 days, Ryback for 60 days and Ziggler for 90), but eventually fire all three of them and blame Cena for them getting fired. The show ends with confetti and balloons falling from the roof of the arena.
