Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for February 19, 2025

MJF heads to the ring to start tonight's show, followed by "Hangman" Adam Page. The ring is surrounded by security. MJF talks about how he had the Casino Battle Royal won in 2019 until "Hangman" Adam Page cheap shotted him "like a gutless little worm" and forced him to fight his way back up to the top and beat some of the best in the process. He also brings up beating Hangman for the AEW World Championship on the way to becoming a six-time Dynamite Diamond Ring winner among other AEW accomplishments, including the longest-reigning AEW World Champion of all time. Hangman says he knows who MJF is and what he has done, and that MJF should be proud of this, then states MJF sounded angry about everything and could not be happy, as if there is still something MJF has not been able to win from the fans. MJF tells Hangman to shut his mouth, as he does not give a damn about the fans, as they decide who is morally redeemable and who is not, as they have with Hangman and not him, despite Hangman's questionable past actions. He says that in the fans' eyes, Hangman can do nothing wrong, and that the fans will chant "Cowboy Shit," then asks Hangman if he loves himself after everything he has done. When MJF mentions Christopher Daniels, Hangman says Daniels is ten times the man MJF is and that he would give him his own spine if he could, as Daniels gave his all for a 32-year career, went out like a warrior, and would not have wanted it any other way. Hangman says Daniels took care of the business when it did not take care of him and that Daniels represents "the best of us," and it is that selflessness and humility that seperates Daniels from MJF, who he says does not have the stomach for it. He asks MJF how he would be remembered if his career ended tomorrow, then says that he knows what is right and wrong and tells the truth about it, and while me may have lied a hundred times, he has never lied to the fans, and he has always handled problems eye-to-eye. Hangman says he has worked for and earned everything he has gotten in AEW while MJF has cheated and schemed his way to the top while treating those along the way as inferior, and hopes that MJF knows deep down he is not better than everyone else. MJF laughs and asks Hangman "Are you a child?" before stating that the history books do not care how the job is done, as he still earns everything, then says he cannot say the same for Hangman, as the powers that be chose to prop him up in the beginning. He says Hangman came in all the pomp and propaganda in the world while he showed up with a scarf and a microphone, and dares Hangman to name one thing he is better at than him. Hangman says "I...am real." MJF says Hangman can be the main character all he wants, as he has no problem being the bad guy. Both men then have a staredown in the middle of the ring, and security shows up and they are about to throw down.MJF looks around and backs off, then spits in Hangman's face. Hangman goes after MJF, and MJF gets out of the ring before security holds Hangman back. Hangman soon levels all of security, and Christopher Daniels shows up to pull Hangman back and almost gets decked by Hangman for it. Daniels says "This is what I was fighting for the whole time." He says they both know who he is, and not to listen to MJF.

The Opps (Samoa Joe, Hook, "The Wrestler" Katsuyori Shibata) beat The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne, Kip Sabian) in a trios match by submission with Redrum from Hook to Nick Wayne as Shibata has Kip Sabian in a sleeper on the outside and Christian Cage wants nothing to do with Samoa Joe.

Jericho says there is now AEW without him and that he is treated with vitriol instead of respect, and that it is time for a history lesson. He gives Bandido a Ring of Honor World title shot and tears up the bounty, then says he will prove that people are getting too comfortable around him.

"Switchblade" Jay White shows up, but PAC is soon behind him. After Switchblade notices PAC, Adam Copeland's entrance theme hits, and Copeland is behind Moxley. As he goes for Moxley and fights off everyone else in the ring, Switchblade hits PAC with Blade Runner and helps Copeland hit Claudio with a Spear. Copeland produces Spike from underneath the ring, which sends everyone running. Copeland goes after Moxley in the crowd, but Moxley escapes, and Copeland says the fans are his people, not Moxley's. He calls Moxley a coward, then declares that he will take out The Death Riders (Claudio, Yuta, PAC) one by one until it is man-to-man at Revolution when he kicks Moxley's ass.

He says the fans are "acting like ungrateful animals," then talks towards the camera to the fans at home, and says the fans and their boos do not matter, as booing a winner is booing a void of nothingness, and he is a winner. Ricochet says he proved it when he beat Swerve Strickland two weeks ago and has been proving it since he entered AEW, as he has been beating everyone's favorite wrestlers. He says that winners have something to show for their success and that so does he, then says he is not content with just wearing Prince Nana's robe when he can be wearing championship gold. Ricochet says he is the main name on the AEW roster and that he is here to win championship gold in 2025, as he is "too damn good lookin' not to be." Suddenly, Prince Nana shows up and gets in the ring with Ricochet, and says he has asked Swerve to stay home. He calls Ricochet out for wearing his robe, then mentions his own 30-year history and the robe that has been part of it. He says the robe represents pride, integrity and wrestlers past and presents. He says that whoever wears it has integrity and that Ricochet has not been given that opportunity, and if Ricochet really was a winner, he would give the robe back. Ricochet dares Prince Nana to take it, and tells him he is not getting it back before walking off.

Orange Cassidy beats Roderick Strong in a Revolution International Championship Series match. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Orange in the ring, but before Orange can say anything, Don Callis shows up wtih Mark Davis and Konosuke Takeshita. He calls Moxley a "malcontent" who wants change but fails to look in the mirror and realize that they are a common theme. He calls out Moxley for hiding the AEW World Championship inside a briefcase and calling him a relic, and while he always respected the generation before him for what they did, his generation made everything better for Moxley's. He says Moxley respects nothing that has been done because he is entitled, and says that the AEW World Championship will not be hidden for long after he beats him up and hurts him. Copeland says that when Moxley can barely get out bed at the age of 65, it will be because of him, and at Revolution, he will face Moxley for the AEW World Championship. He then tells Moxley to step up and accept his challenge.

Magnum says "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho has been running his mouth campaigning for an ass whupping, and now the votes are in and he's about to get elected. Floyd says Jericho might as well dig two graves, as The Outrunners are on top and Jericho and "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith are taking the Total Recall.

The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho and "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) beat The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) after "The Redwood" Big Bill pulls Magnum out of the ring and Bryan Keith pins Floyd with an inside cradle as The Outrunners go for Total Recall. He then says that when he got here, the fans turned their backs on him, especially after he beat Will Ospreay, and was greeted with toilet paper. He says he saw the fans when he saw Swerve Strickland, who called himself a man of the people, and stabbed him in the forehead with the golden scissors, and says it was for everyone who thought it was okay to mock and embarrass him. Swerve shows up and says he could end Ricochet and his entire life right now, but he would upsetting a whole lot of people in Atlanta. Renee leaves as Swerve gets in Ricochet's face and says they probably never will see eye-to-eye, and that he will never forget the day that Ricochet announced he was a free agent, because he did not want Ricochet here. He says AEW has a way of exposing people and what they are about, and that Ricochet put himself out there as a superhero and the fans rejected it. Swerve says he knows he is the villain and that he gets all the respect for it, then tells Ricochet that he will show him that there are levels to this and give him a fight, warning Ricochet that he cannot win in a fight against the most dangerous man in AEW. Ricochet admits that he is not good at pretending or acting, and that he never cared about the fans. He then says that he felt no threat from Swerve ever since Hangman "snatched [his] grill." Swerve grabs the scissors from Ricochet's suit pocket, points them at Ricochet's neck, then says "I'll see you in Atlanta."

"Timeless" Toni Storm appears on the stage. Toni confesses that for the last six weeks, she has played her younger self, and that the young girl in the red shorts was actually her. She says nobody realized this because of how good she is and that they all bore witness to her metamorphosis, but she did this not for the fans, but for herself, as when "The Glamour" Mariah May broke her heart and took everything, she was so embarassed and so ashamed that she had to run away from herself, but she realized that the only way out was through the fire, so she rebuilt herself from the ground up just to look the fans in the eye and see everything she needed to see. She calls Mariah May a "bullshit-faced fraud" and a "shambolic bitch" before telling her that she will doom her womb, for it does not get more real than her and Mariah's time is over.

MJF then talks about a fundraiser that he has started, then has piano music play as he talks about a small child in need of nourishment before showing a photoshopped skinny Adam Cole. The piano music stops, and MJF says that if anyone wants to help Adam Cole, all they have to do is scan the QR code on the screen to purchase the Worlds End pay-per-view and send a part of the price to a fund made to put Adam Cole out of his misery. Adam Cole shows up on the video screen and says he had a meeting with Tony Khan, and that the Dynamite Diamond Ring will be guarded by Matt Taven and Mike Bennett. He says MJF has nowhere to run and hide and that it will all come to an end at Worlds End. He then asks MJF if he is kicking his ass yet, then MJF turns around only for Adam Cole to kick his ass. Adam Cole goes for a Panama Sunrise, but MJF gets out of the ring before Cole can hit him with it.

She hopes to end two generations in one night in their Tijuana Street Fight, then asks if failure runs in the family before mentioning that her father will not be at Worlds End so that he does not see what he does to Thunder Rosa.

Tony Schiavone interviews Ricochet in the ring. Before Ricochet can say much, The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) shows up. Ricochet mentions his progress in the Continental Classic and teases the idea of him and Shelton facing each other, then mentions his match with Will Ospreay. He says he is here to shut the world up and beat Ospreay, then says he has his eyes on the next match. Ricochet then runs into Swerve Strickland Prince Nana, and Swerve says it was only a matter of time before "the real Trevor" showed his real face, and that Ricochet has not changed and is still a follower. Collision Course - Collision recap for July 20, 2024

Darby Allin beats The Beast Mortos. After the match, Darby Allin says that people tell him to slow down or else he won't be able to walk when he is 30 years old, then says he is 30 years old and feels wonderful. Darby then says he never takes a day off because he used to work as a dishwasher and he would rather be kicked in the face any night of the week than go back to dishwashing. He says that it is fitting that he is in his first Blood & Guts, as he still has a scar from Sting's last match. Darby then addresses The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson), saying they do not care about Collision and that AEW is his baby now and that he would not be here if it were not for them. He also says that the TNT Championship means everything to him and that he will not rest until he beats "Scapegoat" Jack Perry for the title, and tells him "If you have the balls...let's play." He then tells the fans that he will see them at Dynamite.

He says that their match will be violent, and if anyone can match Suzuki blow-for-blow, it is him, and he cannot wait to teach him some valuable lessons, including never to mess with him.

Before the next match, Tony Nese makes fun of the fans' fitness - or lack thereof - and says they have not had real athletes to look up to, then announces that "Smart" Mark Sterling made up a contract to give a lucky individual an opportunity and give the fans an opportunity to see what a real "Premier Athlete" looks like.

Rey Fenix beats Tony Nese.

Tony Schiavone interviews FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in the ring. Cash says "The Dynamite Kid" Tommy Billington has one of the brightest futures ahead of him, and that they would not let The Don Callis Family walk all over him. He also says it is no secret that FTR have had the greatest run of their careers and that he has gone through some personal things over the past year that have dragged his name through the mud and left a cloud hanging over his head, and that the ring was his only escape from it all. He thanks the fans for helping him getting past all of that and that all that matterd was wrestling every match like it was his last match, as he did not know if he would have a last match. Cash admits that he has a bit of a temper and can be hot-headed, but he will not let it happen outside of the ring, and for now, the only people FTR have their sights on are The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson), and now, "it is time to go Buck hunting." Harwood says 2022 and 2023 were great years to be an FTR fan due to their four world tag team titles and three great matches with The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe), 58 minutes with Bullet Club Gold ("Switchblade" Jay White, "Rock Hard" Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) and beating The Young Bucks at Wembley Stadium, but right now, their win-loss record is not that great and he has had a serious back injury that he was afraid he would not come back from, and The Young Bucks have leapfrogged them as the best tag team in the world, which does not sit well with him. Harwood says he watched AEW while rehabbing his back for six weeks hoping The Young Bucks would take the tag team division to the promised land only to be completely let down, as they did not even defend their titles, and while he could be making the worst decision of his life, FTR's road to the AEW World Tag Team Championships begins next week, with the road ending at All In. Harwood admits he is hard to work with and can be abrasive, but if the fans can give him some love, FTR will give them passion, blood, sweat and tears and become three-time AEW World Tag Team Champions.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Hikaru Shida, who says she came here for a fight and is still looking for one. She then says she wants a fight with Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D., welcoming her back before telling her to get in line for the TBS Championship. Shida says that she made Britt bleed once before when she broke her nose, and that she will do it again on Dynamite.

Roderick Strong beats Tomohiro Ishii after Matt Taven and Mike Bennett get on the apron to distract the referee, allowing Strong to hit a low blow. After the match, Undisputed Kingdom (Strong, Taven, Bennett) gang up on Ishii before Mark Briscoe shows and Kyle O'Reilly show up to chase them off.

Kerry says it is great to be back in Texas with his sons and his friends, and says tonight is a great night for Texas. Kerry looks back on working with "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and laments that there will never be another man like Dusty, then says that wrestling is changing and everything is a little different than from when he did it, and that Marshall and Ross could benefit from Dustin's advice. Dustin says that he has watched the Von Erichs for years and has learned well, then says that the storm has arrived and that two of the greatest legacies in wrestling are here tonight for the first time since 1978. Dustin tells Marshall and Ross that if they listen and watch, he and Kerry will lead them down a great road. He then tells Marshall and Ross that he has their backs.

Backstage, we hear from Mark Briscoe, who says that his schedule as Ring of Honor World Champion is heating up with his championship match against Roderick Strong at Death Before Dishonor. He says that he and Roddy have known each other for a long time, but he has grown wiser and tougher since they last wrestled each other, and he hopes Roddy is ready. He also talks about the upcoming Blood & Guts match, and tells The Elite (Nicholas Jackson, Matthew Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada, "Scapegoat" Jack Perry) that pro wrestling runs parallel with society and that The Elite are an example of the problems in this world today due to their power and privilege. He says that Team AEW (Swerve Strickland, Darby Allin, "Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, Mark Briscoe) represents "the grinders in society," then says he will be disappointed if The Elite do not bring the fight.

"The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo beats Thunder Rosa in a Lumberjack Match after the lumberjacks brawl, allowing Taya Valkyria to hand Deonna Purrazzo a turnbuckle to use as a weapon.
