Generation NXT - NXT recap for October 18, 2017

Ember Moon beats Sonya Deville and Ruby Riot in a Triple Threat Match to continue to the Fatal 4-Way Match for the vacant NXT Women's Championship after hitting Deville with an Eclipse as Deville has Ruby Riot in an ankle lock.

Christy St. Cloud interviews General Manager William Regal. Suddenly, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce show up. Billie Kay thinks she will be in the fourth qualifying match. Regal says she is, and announces that the fourth match is a battle royal for all the women who have yet to participate. Needless to say, Billie Kay and Peyton Royce are not happy about this.

Aleister Black beats Raul Mendoza. At the beginning of the match, The Velveteen Dream shows up, stands on the apron and puts on Aleister's vest in an attempt to get Aleister to acknowledge him. Aleister does nothing, and Mendoza takes advantage. Nevertheless, it is not enough for Mendoza. After the match, Aleister Black continues to refuse to acknowledge The Velveteen Dream.

Christy St. Cloud interviews Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says a lot has been going on ever since he became NXT Champion. He says that winning the NXT title has been a dream of his, and he has had to sacrifice to get this far. Drew admits it has not been easy, as his first run in WWE did not pan out like he thought it would. He calls it a hard pill to swallow, as he lost his dream job just after getting his and his girlfriend's first place. After that, the fire in him briefly went out, but he worked himself to the bone to claw his way to success. He eventually made his way back to WWE, came to NXT, and became champion four months later. Suddenly, Zelina Vega shows up and tells Christy St. Cloud she is taking over the interview from here. Zelina says she has noticed that Drew and Andrade "Cien" Almas have a lot in common, as Almas was in a slump, but she was his second chance. Zelina Vega says Drew McIntyre has a target on his back, and wants to know why he is ducking Almas. Drew tells Zelina to get with General Manager William Regal, but Zelina says Drew has pull. Drew then tells Zelina to tell Almas to meet with him personally concerning an NXT Championship match.

In footage from earlier today, Zelina Vega says Johnny Gargano is mad and that his break-up with Tommaso Ciampa still haunts him. Dead.

Oney Lorcan beats Danny Burch with a single leg crab. Both men shake hands, but neither man lets go, and Burch demands they go one more time. Lorcan accepts the challenge.

No Way Jose beats Cezar Bononi. After the match, Andrade "Cien" Almas shows up along with the woman that he has been seen with, then gets in the ring and attacks Bononi for beating him last week. After the match, Akam and Rezar decimate the opposition with a Super Collider. Ellering then says that Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dozovic) are as foolish as they are large, as they have been undefeated for a year and have decimated every tag team they have come up against. He then says Heavy Machinery will not even make a footnote in the Book of Dominance, as they do not measure up. Suddenly, Heavy Machiner show up, and both teams stare down until Ellering holds the Authors back and all three of them get out of the ring.

We see a vignette for Sonya Deville, who will be on NXT next week.

The Velveteen Dream beats Raul Mendoza.

"The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura shows up. One year ago, he came to NXT, with plenty of experience and tastes of gold in Japan, to face the best in the world. A year later, he has called it home and has learned a lot from the NXT superstars, staff and fans. He says NXT is its own brand with its own energy and life, and has created something new and different, and says the NXT Universe is crazy with their chants and singing, and that NXT is the fans' style with their chants and singing. The NXT locker room comes to the stage and gives Nakamura a standing ovation, while the NXT Universe sings Nakamura's entrance theme for what will be the last time.
