Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for February 2, 2024

Logan Paul heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Logan admits that he underestimated Kevin Owens, saying he "looks like a pissed off doughnut" but made him fight in their match and did more damage to him than Floyd Mayweather, as he made him bleed and nearly knocked him out. He then brags that Owens still lost and that he is still champion, and that he is the toughest person on a "brittle roster" and makes fun of people complaining about history before proclaiming that he is "unbreakable." Suddenly, Kevin Owens shows up and tells Logan he forgot to describe himself as "an unbearable idiot" before stating that he still got the moral victory and that it felt better than knocking him out. Owens then proclaims that he is ready to bring back some prestige to the United States Championship by taking it from Logan Paul and sanitizing it as soon as possible, then tells Owens that he wasted his one shot and took the bait from the brass knuckles. Owens reminds Logan that he will stop at nothing to win and admits that he got caught, and gives credit to the referee for their match before telling Logan that next time they get in the ring for the title, he will not need brass knuckles to beat him. Logan tells him that it is over for Owens and that he will find a real challenger who is not Owens before telling Owens to focus on his match with Austin Theory while he talks smack about him on commentary.

Logan Paul guests on commentary for the next match.

Kevin Owens beats Austin Theory. During the match, Logan Paul passes some brass knuckles to Austin Theory, but Owens takes them away, superkicks Grayson Waller and punches Theory with the knuckles while Logan Paul tries to warn the refere before hiding the brass knuckles for the win. After the match, Logan flees through the crowd when Owens runs after him.

As Trinity and other female Superstars celebrate Trinity signing to SmackDown, Tiffany Stratton shows up with a SmackDown contract that she just signed and asks where her applause is. After stepping up to Bianca Belair, she then slaps "Michin" Mia Yim and runs away. General Manager Nick Aldis keeps everyone from chasing after Tiffany, and Mia Yim wants a match with Tiffany tonight. Aldis grants it.

Backstage, Bianca Belair meets with General Manager Nick Aldis, wanting to know how to get into the championship picture. As Aldis says he and General Manager Adam Pearce are looking into it, Logan Paul interrupts, wanting another challenger, much to the chagrin of Bianca.

We see Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Humberto, Angel, Elektra Lopez) at a restaurant. Santos Escobar says he looks at the table and that his heart is filled with joy, as there is nothing more valuable than family in his universe. He says that they are the bearers of the legacies of their families and that and that they must eradicate The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Carlito, Zelina Vega) having a toast to honor and loyalty.

Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne beat Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince), Legado del Fantasma (Humberto and Angel) and The Latino World Order (Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro) to face the winners of next week's Raw's Fatal 4-Way tag team match.

"Michin" Mia Yim vs. Tiffany Stratton is official for later tonight.

Backstage, Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane and Asuka converse, and Iyo Sky says that "Bayley is done tonight." Meanwhile, Bayley has been watching and listening from a distance.

WrestleMania 40 is 64 days away!

We see a video package of Seth "Freakin'" Rollins' plea for "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes to face him for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania.

Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis are in the ring as Bayley heads to the ring to make her championship decision with Asuka, Kairi Sane and Iyo Sky. Bayley says that when she thinks of WrestleMania, she talks about how she has nearly done it all, and that this year is both different and special because she she had a lot of ups and downs and got there with the help of Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky, Asuka, Kairi Sane). She says that Damage CTRL is family and that when she thinks of WrestleMania, she is reminded of the magic and of beating the best. She entertains wrestling Rhea Ripley, but then confronts Kairi, Asuka and Iyo for talking about her behind her back. Bayley says she just wanted Damage CTRL to be the best and take them to the top together, then confronts Iyo Sky for turning her back on her before Asuka and Kairi attack Bayley from behind. Asuka, Kairi and Iyo Sky lay Bayley out, but Bayley soon fights back with a pipe, and Iyo Sky and Bayley almost strike each other with the WWE Women's Championship and the pipe, respectively. Iyo then flees with Kairi and Asuka. Bayley then tells Iyo that she will see her at WrestleMania.

The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Akam, Rezar) vs. Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) ends before the match can even begin with both men brawling and B-Fab showing up to take out Scarlett.

General Manager Nick Aldis is about to get Bron Breakker to sign a SmackDown contract when Raw General Manager Adam Pearce confronts him. Bron does not sign and says he will hang onto it as he sees Pearce on Monday, then Jade Cargill shows up to meet with Nick Aldis. Aldis demands Pearce leave.

Tiffany Stratton beats "Michin" Mia Yim.

The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa) heads to the ring. Roman says he does not like to recap and would like to move forward, but there are words said on Monday that he could not let slide. He mentions Seth "Freakin'" Rollins saying he has the title and calls the World title "the loser bracket title" while calling everyone he beat to become champion "number twos." He also says one cannot walk around in his wife's clothes and say he is the clothes, and that he broke his back three months into his title reign and that workhorses do not limp. Roman says that while he works ten times less than Rollins, he makes ten times more, then asks the fans if they want "Seth Rollins money" or "Tribal Chief money" before calling "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes stupid and an idiot for having values. Roman says he will not beg to Cody and says Cody can either be "the best number two in the industry" or he can take a crack at number one again. Cody Rhodes shows up. After the commercial break, Cody proposes that he and Roman have the ring to themselves, and Roman sends Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa out of the ring. Cody says he had Roman at WrestleMania 39 and that Roman knows it, and states that while Rollins made some amazing comments, he disagrees about the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship being "the Hollywood title" due to its lineage and Dusty Rhodes nearly having it. He states that he still wants Roman's title and questions Roman's supposed ownership of everything, and states that he wants the title and he wants everything, and that he is coming for Roman Reigns. He then states that it is not happening at WrestleMania, as he has taken council with someone who knows Roman well: The Rock, who shows up and heads to the ring. Cody leaves the ring, then The Rock stares down Roman Reigns from across the ring before getting up close to him to end the show. (The decision to do this is heavily slated by the fans to the point that The Rock was booed when shown on the arena's video screen at a live event in Knoxville, Tennessee and the YouTube video of this happening becomes WWE's most disliked video overnight.)

This week on The SmackDown LowDown: Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne! Bobby Lashley, B-Fab and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford)! Tiffany Stratton!

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
