Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for February 28, 2024

"Hangman" Adam Page heads to the ring to start tonight's show, and he is seen carrying a crutch under his right arm. Adam Page says that when AEW started, it was an important endeavor for his friends, but for him, it was a goal to meet and exceed the fans' expectations, which is why it hurts to have the World Championship in front of him only for him to be injured. He talks about how he considered a three-way match for the AEW World Championship "bullshit" and that the potential singles match had the wrong two competitors, then refuses to apologize for that before announcing he will not be able to compete at Revolution. Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland show up, and Swerve says that he and Hangman have been through war in the last six months and that he did not expect this to happen. He says that he targeted Hangman because of everything he accomplished, then says that one cannot fight fate or escape destiny and that his destiny is to go on to become AEW World Champion. Samoa Joe shows up and says it looks like Hangman and Swerve are trying to hug it out, and says they have only gone after each other because they forgot who the real man around AEW is and says they are hungry because he is starving them. Joe says that regardless of whoever he faces at Revolution, he will whip both of their asses. Swerve says he went from unemployed to main eventing pay-per-views and from a cruiserweight to a world champion, and that he will do what it takes to become champion. He also mentions what he did to "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne - breaking into his father's gym and leaving him in a pool of his own blood - as he says he will do whatever it takes and that he is on the verge of making history, and on Sunday, he will become world champion. Swerve is then attacked from behind by Hangman, who is actually not injured at all. Hangman then tells Swerve he will not have the world title and then tells Joe that he will become world champion.

In footage from earlier today, The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) arrive at the arena and are interviews by Renee Paquette. Nicholas says that their meeting with "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair went well, and Matthew asks if Ric Flair has shown up so they can thank Sting for his contributions before conducting their exit interview. The two of them produce white baseball bats and look for Sting.

The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson) beat Eddie Kingston and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in a trios match after Danielson knocks Eddie out before putting him in a submission hold.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Chris Jericho, who talks about how he was thrown into the deep end in Mexico when he had matches with legends, one of whom was Atlantis, whom he called a mentor and a friend. He says that he is facing Atlantis Jr. tonight to repay the favor and show him a lesson in what he can do.

Tony Schiavone interviews Will Ospreay - who is now All Elite - in the ring. Ospreay thanks the fans for their receptions, then announces that his obligations with New Japan Pro Wrestling, went on holiday, nearly lost his bags and is now in All Elite Wrestling for full-time work. He talks about how he beat Orange Cassidy in an AEW ring and beat Kenny Omega in Canada before pinning Chris Jericho in Wembley Stadium, and while the territory is different, he is ready to pick up where he left off with The Don Callis Family. Don Callis, "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs show up and head to the ring, and Callis says there is nothing he likes more than a family reunion. He says that when he thinks of talent, he thinks of Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita and Will Ospreay, and says that Will Ospreay needs to top what he has done by having the match of the decade with Konosuke Takeshita. Callis says that no matter who wins at Revolution, because the Don Callis Family will win either way. He then asks Takeshita and Ospreay to shake hands. Ospreay extends his hand, and when both men shake hands, both men have a staredown.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Eddie Kingston. Eddie is soon approached by The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) as they look for Sting, and Nicholas threatens to fine Eddie for talking crap about him before Matthew tells him to "work on the presentation" and follow the dress code.

Orange Cassidy retains the AEW International Championship against "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne. During the match, the rest of The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Shayna Wayne, Killswitch) is ejected from ringside after Christian trips Orange Cassidy off the top rope, despite interfering when the referee is not looking. Later in the match, The Undisputed Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) show up from behind the barricade and distract Orange Cassidy, but Rocky "Azucar" Romero and Trent Beretta run out and fight them. Nick Wayne removes a top turnbuckle cover, but is caught by Daniel Garcia. Orange hits the Orange Punch to retain. After the match, Roderick Strong attacks Orange Cassidy out of nowhere, but they are chased out of the ring by Beretta and Romero.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews The Bang Bang Scissor Gang. "Switchblade" Jay White admits he was apprehensive at first, but they have proven how well they can work together. After the team brings up "Platinum" Max Caster choking before Saturday's match, Anthony Bowens proposes Austin Gunn team up with him and Max after Austin Gunn initially brings up the idea.

Skye Blue beats Kris Statlander after Stokely Hathaway inadvertently distracts the referee with a chain that he tries to pass to Statlander, allowing Julia Hart to hit Statlander with the TBS Championship before Skye Blue hits the Code Blue for the win.

Backstage, The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) find Sting's dressing room, and after Matthew warns that the only sure thing about Sting is that nothing is for sure, Matthew and Nicholas bust into the room to find nothing but bats hanging off the ceiling.

"Lionheart" Chris Jericho beats Atlantis Jr. after Atlantis throws in the towel while Jericho has Atlantis Jr. in the Walls of Jericho. After the match, Jericho raises both Atlantis' and Atlantis Jr.'s hands, and Atlantis and Jericho hug.

The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) head to the ring, still carrying white baseball bats. As they taunt fans wearing Sting masks in the front row, one of them reveals themselves to be Darby Allin and brawls with The Young Bucks. The Young Bucks soon overpower Darby, then hit him with the EVP-Trigger before bringing out "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair gets in the ring, but when Matthew hands him a bat, Ric Flair fights the Bucks instead only for Nicholas to hit him with a low blow. Sting's music hits, and The Young Bucks wait at the entrance ramp only for Sting to come down from the rafters from behind. Sting overpowers The Young Bucks, and Darby Allin hits them with the Coffin Drop. Nicholas then receives a Scorpion Deathdrop before standing tall with Darby and Flair in the ring.
