We hear from The Design (Deaner and Kon). Deaner says TNA has proved it is hard to kill and that is time to regroup. Kon says The Design is dead as it is always about regrouping than anything else, and because he has declared it dead. He says it is time to remind TNA who its baddest man, and that it starts tonight.
Backstage, Steve Maclin says he told Nic Nemeth that he was a phony and a liar, then calls his alliance with The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) "not phony at all." They soon run into "Speedball" Mike Bailey, and Maclin has to tell The Rascalz not to mess with Speedball as Speedball and Wentz argue.
Decay (Rosemary and Havok) beat Mila Moore and Savannah Thorne.
Backstage, Gia Miller interviews MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly). As Killer Kelly says they want their title rematch at No Surrender, Joey Threat and Dani Luna confront MK Ultra, and Dani says they have started a fight they could not finish. This leads to a match between Masha and Jody.
It's time for The Sound Check with Alan Angels. Tonight's guest is "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. Throughout the production gaffes, Josh mentions that he worked hard to get where he was at, even as Alan Angels mentions that he has had to step on some toes along the way. Alan soon says that Josh is starting to become ungrateful and being a bad influence to his own son Jett, which causes Josh to walk out.
Brian Myers beats Kevin Knight. After the match, Eddie and Alisha Edwards show up to celebrate with Myers and gang up on Kevin Knight, but KUSHIDA rushes to the ring before they can do anything.
Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Chris Sabin. Sabin states that the X Division title represents the heart and soul of TNA, then says he is a fighting champion and that he knows who Mustafa Ali is. Suddenly, Mustafa Ali shows up on the screen with another message, then The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) show up. John Skyler says he can be the next X Division Champion, and Sabin says he can make the match official for next week.
Frankie Kazarian heads to the ring. Kazarian states that everything he is about to say is an absolute fact. He says he came back a year ago and saved the company, for he loves this company and he wanted to be here. He says that for the last year, he has given everything to TNA, and that for the last twenty-five, he has given everything to the business and has given more than anyone could imagine. He then says it is time to start taking what he wants and getting what he wants because he has earned the right to do so while he has watched others take advantage and reap the benefits. He says that this will stop, and that he will stop being a decent man in indecent times and will stop being overlooked and being a hero to the people, for all the fans love more than heroes are watching them fail. He says that to succeed, the hero must become the monster, and he intends to do that. Kazarian says that in a lot of ways, Eric Young has been the heartbeat of TNA and has been champion multiple times, while he has been a soldier in the trenches. He then says history remembers kings, not soldiers, and that he will become king. He says that if he has to lose friends or relationships, that is okay with him, because not even the fans mean anything to him. He calls Eric Young "a means to an end," and that any decisions he makes will be for the betterment of TNA. He says that he will not walk in the shadows and take a higher path, and if he has to walk it alone, so be it. Kazarian then gives the fans permission to hate him now. Backstage, someone is seen watching Frankie Kazarian from the curtains.
Backstage, The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose) is met by Alex Shelley, who tells Moose that he is getting his rematch for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Moose says this is not how The System works and that he will find out how soon enough.
We see another vignette for Ash By Elegance.
Deaner heads to the ring. Deaner admits that as of right now, something that he created is over, and as of right now, The Design (Deaner and Kon) is dead. The crowd cheers. He says it might even be his fault, as he thought he could take something and breathe new life into it and make it into something more beautiful, but he was wrong. He says that if it is dead, it will never rise and come back to life again. Suddenly, PCO is wheeled onto the stage on an operating table and revived.
PCO quickly beats Deaner. After the match, Kon attacks PCO from behind, then helps Deaner up only to clothesline him and twist his neck. PCO soon gets up, and Kon hits him with a claw slam before suffocating him.
Backstage, AJ Francis meets with Rich Swann, and says Joe Hendry beat Swann because Swann did not have anyone to have his back. He says that they could be a team, but Swann makes it known he is not interested. Rhino passes by and asks him if he needs help with Crazzy Steve, but Rhino tells him to fuck off. Swann then tells AJ Francis that nobody wants anything to do with him as he leaves, but Francis says money does.
We get a behind-the-scenes look at Jordynne Grace at the women's Royal Rumble in WWE.
Masha Slamovich beats Jody Threat after Dani Luna beats Killer Kelly up for getting physically involved in the match on the outside.
It is revealed that The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose) has attacked KUSHIDA backstage with Alex Shelley unable to stop them.
Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) beats ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) in Match 1 of their best-of-three series after James Drake brings Ace Austin down to the mat from the ring apron with his scarf.
