Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Leon Slater. Slater says he has never been more prepared, as he has another chance to make history as the longest-reigning X-Division Champion of all time, and he has a chance to draw a line between who he was, who he is now, and who he will be. He says he has been winning the big one for the last 300 days, and he will go from youngest to greatest. The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero) show up and tell Slater that he has a chance to solidify himself as a legend much like they have.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, Tasha Steelz, Special Agent Zero). Mustafa Ali says that order 4 continues to fail him, but he will fix things like he always does. He says he has a magic lamp in the International Championship, and he has already wished for the best that TNA has to offer. He says that the open challenge continues, and that he will go back to his winning ways. Order 4 leaves with Gia Miller telling Jason Hotch he did a good job in the battle royal, then Eric Young shows up says that Mike Santana will be the next to go as part of the cleanse.

Lei Ying Lee heads to the ring. She says that last week was the greatest night of her entire life and that she has fought for this moment to become a two-time Knockouts World Champion. She is proud to be able to bring the title back to TNA, and apologizes for her English not being the best, as while she wants to speak from her heart, the words in Chinese are not the same. She thanks the fans, stating she could not have done it without them. Xia Brookside shows up and tells Lei Ying Lee she can celebrate all she wants, but she has her mind on the Knockouts World Championship and sooner or later, it will come to her. Lei Ying Lee says she is sick of Xia and addresses her in Mandarin Chinese, but Xia tells her to speak like "her dumbass fans." Lei Ying Lee says she will beat her right here and now, and Xia teases getting in the ring before stating she will not wrestle in "a cesspool like Sacramento, California." Xia says she has already destroyed Lei Ying Lee and she will take the Knockouts World Championship from her, but today is not that day.

Backstage, we hear from The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson, Cedric Alexander). Eddie says they were robbed in the battle royal and that he will get another title shot with Moose out of the picture. Brian Myers says he does not want to hear Moose's name again, as he is weak. Bear Bronson says that The System cannot be broken, and Cedric says that Moose is a non-factor and that Leon Slater will find out he cannot beat The System.

Gia Miller interviews Keith Jardine, actor for the upcoming movie Over Your Dead Body. Jardine talks about the movie, then The Elegance Brand (The Personal Concierge George Iceman, Heather by Elegance, M by Elegance, Mr. Elegance) shows up, with The Personal Concierge calling Mr. Elegance an example of real masculinity. He then says that he has made a name for himself out of facing the greats and has beaten them all, then tells Eric Young to bring something different, for he is the one holding down the fort week after week as TNA World Champion. Daria Rae shows up and congratulates Santana, then says Eric Young is not his next opponent, as he never really beat Steve Maclin at Rebellion. She announces that Maclin is cleared to return to the ring, and that they will have a title rematch next week. Daria then says that she ran the match by the board of directors, but not by Director of Authority Santino Marella, and that the board liked the idea. Santino then shows up and implies that Daria cancelled his flight last week. Santino admits he likes the Santana-Maclin rematch, then mentions that Indi Hartwell has just re-signed with TNA and that there are big things in the Knockouts Division with Lei Ying Lee as Knockouts Champion again. Daria says it is real classy that Santino is celebrating the downfall of his daughter, and Santino says that while he loves his daughter, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo has corrupted her mind, and he wants to get his hands on him. Daria says Stacks would destroy Santino. Santana interrupts, saying that he will beat any challenges for the World Championship.

As per the Bioflex Injury Report: Trey Miguel is out as his knee injury is worse than expected and that he is out indefinitely. We hear from "Broken" Matt Hardy. He says that The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) have freed the monsters of the Broken Universe and have freed both him and Brother Nero, and next week, he invites The Righteous to the battlefield. He says The Righteous are talented, but they are mortal men while The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero) are gods.

Cedric Alexander beats Leon Slater two falls to one (2-1) in a two-out-of-three falls match to win the TNA X-Division Championship, ending Slater's reign at 298 days and tying it with Austin Aries' record setting first reign with the title from 2011 and ending it one day before Slater could claim to be the longest-reigning of all time. Slater earns the first fall with a roll-up early in the match. Alexander scores the second fall after hitting a Lumbar Check. After the match, TNA President Carlos Silva is about to award the title to Alexander when the lights go out and Fabian Aichner - formerly known as Giovanni Vinci in WWE - shows up to end the show.

Trey Miguel is still out following his match against Mustafa Ali at Rebellion, and an update will be provided when available. Frankie Kazarian and Elijah are cleared for tonight's main event.

We hear from Director of Authority Santino Marella. Despite being at home, he is no longer suspended and he is cleared of all charges thanks to a star witness. He says that he is getting back to business after what happened to two weeks ago, and this time, Moose and Leon Slater will be in a two-on-two tag match. He also announces that "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth and KC Navarro will face The System (Brian Myers and Bear Bronson) for the tag team titles, while Lei Ying Lee will get a rematch for the Knockouts Championship against Arianna Grande, with Xia Brookside banned from ringside. He says they both know that this life is a joke and that death is the punchline, and that everything went so well until it did not, and he was cast aside to rot. Crazzy Steve says that he knows Rosemary is looking for a sacrifice, but he wants something from Rosemary in return so he can get out of this place. Frankie Kazarian shows up and interrupts, saying Buff Bagwell is not walking anywhere and that he will be hobbling. He says that he used to be a Buff Bagwell fan and that Buff had it all, and says Buff is pathetic compared to twenty years ago. Elijah says that tonight is Buff's night, and while he will take care of Kazarian, no one will stop Buff from carrying out his dream. He says that legends never die; they drift and need someone to carry them and keep the rhythm going. He says that this is why they band together not as one voice, but as many, and that they gave Matt Hardy peace, quiet and serenity in a room of memory, and while Matt's spirit is cracked and bruised, it is not broken. Vincent says he has been watching Jeff Hardy his whole life and that he means it when he says that he is just a reflection of Jeff. All of a sudden, The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) appear. Vincent says they do not want to fight them, and Dutch says they want to grow from The Hardys and make them reach greater heights and potential they never knew existed. Vincent says they want brotherhood, not conflict. Matt says they have all the brotherhood they need and do not need any more from The Righteous, and Jeff says they also have it with the fans as he agrees. Matt says they do not care what The Righteous want and that they want The Righteous out of their lives. Vincent says they just want what is best, but if they refuse their guidance and refuse to make this work, then the cycle will demand something different. Matt says that he and Jeff are only thinking about elevating TNA as it enters a new era.

He says it is time to remind TNA who its baddest man, and that it starts tonight.

He says he came back a year ago and saved the company, for he loves this company and he wanted to be here. He says that for the last year, he has given everything to TNA, and that for the last twenty-five, he has given everything to the business and has given more than anyone could imagine. He then says it is time to start taking what he wants and getting what he wants because he has earned the right to do so while he has watched others take advantage and reap the benefits. He says that this will stop, and that he will stop being a decent man in indecent times and will stop being overlooked and being a hero to the people, for all the fans love more than heroes are watching them fail. He says that to succeed, the hero must become the monster, and he intends to do that. Kazarian says that in a lot of ways, Eric Young has been the heartbeat of TNA and has been champion multiple times, while he has been a soldier in the trenches. He then says history remembers kings, not soldiers, and that he will become king. He says that if he has to lose friends or relationships, that is okay with him, because not even the fans mean anything to him. He calls Eric Young "a means to an end," and that any decisions he makes will be for the betterment of TNA. Backstage, someone is seen watching Frankie Kazarian from the curtains.

He says that if it is dead, it will never rise and come back to life again. Suddenly, PCO is wheeled onto the stage on an operating table and revived.
