Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for November 3, 2023

LA Knight heads to the ring to start tonight's show. LA Knight admits that nearly 1200 days of being a world champion is impressive, but he dropped Roman Reigns on his head and he will do it again at Crown Jewel. He says that he has come to take over everything Roman thinks that he owns and that it will be the end of Roman's reign, then Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman head to the ring. Roman Reigns re-introduces himself, saying it is not clear to LA Knight who he his, then says that he has managed to get everyone's attention and get everyone on his side before giving him credit for that, for it is not easy to do. Roman accuses LA Knight of pushing the business back while he himself has pushed it forward, and states that he has turned the business into "a billion-dollar industry" while LA Knight has got people to chant for him and make fun of his cousin. Roman then tells LA Knight to enjoy tonight, for tomorrow, he will crush him and leave him in the desert, and he will not be the last person he does this to. LA Knight says Roman feels "pretty unbeatable" after beating everyone in front of him, but he is not coming at Roman from the same angle that everyone else has and that he is here not to finish something, but to start something: his own era. He says that he will be the one to beat Roman, and while Roman has done a great job being a megastar, he has been the megastar because he lives it everyday. He also says he does not do warning shot, and tells him to finish the job or else he will finish him. Officials, including General Manager Nick Aldis, get between Roman and LA Knight to keep things from getting physical.

Before the next match, Kayla Braxton interviews Austin Theory, who says that he is used to taking hits because he is "The 150 Million Hit Man" and that he has an attractive face, not a punchable one, and after tonight, he will not have to wear a mask for Halloween.

Grayson Waller guests on commentary for the next match.

Kevin Owens beats Austin Theory.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Bianca Belair. As Bianca Belair talks about how she wants vengeance against Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai), she is suddenly attacked from behind by Bayley and Iyo Sky. General Manager Nick Aldis and officials rush in to restore order.

Backstage, Logan Paul is met by Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford), who wish him the best of luck against Rey Mysterio. As Lashley tells The Street Profits that Logan Paul showing up and taking what he wants is what it is all about, B-Fab shows up and wants to talk with Lashley in private.

Before the next match, Shotzi's partner is revealed to be Charlotte Flair.

Shotzi and Charlotte Flair beat Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.

Solo Siko and Paul Heyman head to the ring. Paul Heyman says that Roman Reigns is the one who calls the shots, and when he does, he turns to Solo Sikoa as an enforcer. He says that Solo Sikoa has a bright future in WWE, not just as an enforcer, but as a future Tribal Chief and that one does not reach that position without bodies at their feet, especially when one of those bodies is John Cena. As Heyman says John Cena could have made it easier, Solo Sikoa takes the mic and asks Heyman why he is wasting his breath on the fans when they are here to talk to John Cena face-to-face.John Cena heads to the ring, and Solo says he is pissed off that he has to wait until tomorrow to fight him, then says he has orders from Roman Reigns to give John Cena the microphone so he can say goodbye to the fans while he still can. He says that come tomorrow, John Cena will not be able, then hands Cena the microphone. Cena asks Solo who he realizes who he is dealing with at is evident that Cena's voice is hoarse, then says that he has waited over a year for Solo to speak and asks if this is all he has. He says that he will say goodbye for the fans, not to them, and that Solo only has a job because of Roman and is more of a "bargain basement Tazz rip-off" than an enforcer before telling him that the only place Solo's thumb is going is up Solo's own ass.

Backstge, Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai) brag about beating up Bianca Belair backstage, then Bayley says Bianca will never learn her lesson and that she will beat her tonight before joking about facing Iyo Sky for the WWE Women's Championship. General Manager Nick Aldis then shows up and says that to ensure a winner between Bayley and Bianca, Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai are barred from ringside. Iyo tells Bayley she can handle it before she and Dakota leave.

Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) beat The Brawling Brutes (Butch and Ridge Holland) in a Good Old Fashioned Donnybrook Match after putting Butch through a table after Elton Prince smashes a pint glass on Butch's head.

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis is met by Paul Heyman, who advises him to have a lot of medical personnel on hand tomorrow, because LA Knight will need them after the fans witness the most savage version of Roman Reigns they have ever seen. Aldis asks Heyman if he is done, Heyman says "With LA Knight? Hardly."

General Manager Nick Aldis hosts a weigh-in between Logan Paul and Rey Mysterio for their upcoming United States Championship Match at Crown Jewel. Logan Paul is introduced first, followed by Rey Mysterio. Logan Paul's official weight is 213 lbs. Rey Mysterio's official weight is 175 lbs. Both men then have a face-off, and after Logan Paul patronizingly pats Rey on the head, Rey slaps Logan in the face before hitting him with the microphone.

Bianca Belair beats Bayley in a match that also sees Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai barred from ringside after Bianca hits Bayley with her hair in response to Bayley grabbing it before hitting the K.O.D. for the win. After the match, Bianca grabs Bayley for another K.O.D. on the outside, and this time, she sends a message to Iyo Sky by putting Bayley through the announce table.
