Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for November 10, 2023

Kevin Owens guests on commentary for tonight's show to replace Corey Graves - who now has a son - even wearing a white tie with red and blue stripes borrowed from General Manager Nick Aldis for the occasion.

The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Zelina Vega) heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Rey mentions his United States Championship loss to Logan Paul at Crown Jewel, stating that Logan stole the title from him, and while the referee's decision is final, Logan could not beat him without brass knuckles. Rey promises that he will do whatever he can to get a championship match before Carlito suddenly shows up. He says nobody wants to see Rey as champion more than him, then tells him to blame Santos Escobar for leaving the brass knuckles on the apron. Escobar leaves almost immediately, and Rey and Zelina go after Escobar. As Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro are in the ring with Carlito, Lashley stands on a podium for the next match.

Bobby Lashley beats Carlito following a cheap shot from Montez Ford as the referee is pre-occupied with Angelo Dawkins as Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro and a returning Santos Escobar fight him on the outside. After the match, Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Dawkins and Ford) attack Carlito. Santos Escobar stands on the ring apron and does nothing, then Rey Mysterio shows up with a chair and chases Lashley and The Street Profits away before the two of them argue over Carlito. Rey apologizes to Escobar, who shoves him into the ring post and causes him to land groin first on the ring steps. Escobar says Rey made him do this and that it should be him and Rey. Zelina Vega runs out and stands between him and Rey.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley tries to get an interview with Santos Escobar. Escobar says Rey Mysterio had it coming, then leaves.

Bayley heads to the ring. Bayley says she has had a plan and a vision for Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai) since its inception, and that everything she wanted to have come true has come true. She says Iyo Sky has defeated the best in the business, and it is her era all thanks to her plan. She says that Crown Jewel should have been their proudest moment, but she mentions that Kairi Sane is not part of that plan, and asks Iyo Sky to come to the ring. Iyo arrives with Dakota Kai and Kairi Sane. Bayley wants to know what Kairi Sane is doing here, and Iyo says that she also had a plan. She thanks Kairi Sane for helping her retain, then Bayley mentions that the last time Kairi was in WWE on the July 27, 2020 episode of Raw, she attacked her. Dakota Kai says that they brought Kairi Sane in to make Damage CTRL to make them stronger, not to hurt Bayley, and because they wanted to take some of the weight off of Bayley. Kairi takes the microphone and tells Bayley that she respects her as a leader, then says that she forgives her for the attack three years ago. Despite Bayley admitting she is no longer a hugger, everyone in the ring hugs it out until Bianca Belair shows up. Bianca says Kairi might be forgiving, but she does not forgive Damage CTRL. She admits she made a mistake thinking Iyo was confident enough to face her one-on-one, but now she has to whup all of them. As Bayley says nobody likes Bianca, Bianca says nobody likes Damage CTRL. As Bayley says nobody likes Bianca, Bianca says nobody likes Damage CTRL. Charlotte Flair shows up, then Bianca says that somebody was upset about Kairi Sane joining Damage CTRL. That someone happens to be Asuka, who joins Bianca and Charlotte on the stage. Asuka addresses Iyo and Kairi in Japanese, then says nobody is ready for her.

It is announced that in honor of Veteran's Day, WWE will raise of the biggest American flags ever above the new WWE headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. WWE then acknowledges Veteran's Day.

Dragon Lee beats Cedric Alexander.

Before the next match, LA Knight admits that Crown Jewel did not go exactly how he hoped it would go, and while he could apologizes for coming up short and not living up to the fans' expectations (which leads to a "Yes you did!"), he would have won had it not been for Jimmy Uso. LA Knight says he was robbed, then says Roman Reigns should give Jimmy Uso the pleasure he can give him any way he can, because if it were not for him, he would be WWE Champion. He then says that he and The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa) are not done until he owns Roman Reign and the WWE Undisputed Championship, then Grayson Waller shows up. Grayson says LA Knight is embarrassing himself right now by blaming everyone but himself, then says LA Knight needs some honesty and that everyone knows that LA Knight is "not the guy." As Grayson says he knows somebody who can be "the guy," LA Knight calls him "Kangaroo Jackass." Grayson then asks LA Knight if he really thinks he belongs in the ring with Roman Reigns. LA Knight asks if "The Grayson Waller Effect" is "some sort of STD," then mentions how he got dropped by a movie star at Crown Jewel, makes fun of his haircut, and says Grayson looks like he is not allowed 50 feet near a school. He then says Grayson only has a match with him because he was playing around on the Internet and came at him with "big incel energy," then says you can take the boy out of mother's basement but you cannot take mother's basement out of the boy. LA Knight then says that he is frustrated and that he will take that frustration out on him by stomping his keister into the ring and letting him know whose game it is. He then punches Grayson, throws him out of the ring, and throws water on him.

LA Knight beats Grayson Waller. After the match, Kevin Owens uses the replay feature to make fun of how he punched Grayson Waller and Austin THeory in the face simultaneously two weeks ago.

We hear from Medal of Honor recipient Spc 5. James McCloughan, who tells his story about his involvement in the Battle of Nui Yon Hill in the Vietnam War and how he risked his life to medically evacuate the wounded.

We look back on John Cena's WWE debut on the June 27, 2002 episode of SmackDown, courtesy of WWE Elite Collection.

As Kevin Owens continues to make fun of how he punches Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in the face simultaneously, Grayson and Theory show up and mess with Kevin Owens, poruing water on him before throwing the bottle at the commentary team. Kevin Owens responds by attacking them both from behind and giving Grayson Waller a Stunner in the ring, which earns Owens a suspension.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso says that if LA Knight is not done with him, then he is not done with him, and he will see him next week. After he says "Yeet," Roman Reign calls him, then Jimmy Uso says "No Yeet!"

Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Kairi Sane) vs. Bianca Belair, Charlotte Flair and Asuka ends in a no-contest when Asuka denies Bianca Belair the tag, spits blue mist in her face, kicks her in the face and sides with Damage CTRL. After the match, Damage CTRL and Asuka gang up on Bianca Belair. Shotzi runs into the ring, but she is also overpowered. Iyo Sky then hits Charlotte Flair with Over The Moonsault. Bianca Belair tries to fight back, but she is overpowered and she is laid out by Kairi Sane, who hits Bianca with a spinning backfist followed by the InSane Elbow. After the match, Damage CTRL and Asuka raise each others' hands in victory.

This week on The SmackDown LowDown: LA Knight! Grayson Waller and Austin Theory! Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane, Asuka)!
