Thanksgiving Eve - Dynamite recap for November 22, 2023

Swerve Strickland beats Jay Lethal in the Gold League of the Continental Classic and earns three points. During the match, it is announced that Rampage will be live this Saturday at 7 PM Eastern/6 PM Central, with Collision airing afterwards. (This is due to Rampage being pre-empted by NHL hockey.)

Backstage, Orange Cassidy, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata are interrupted by Wheeler Yuta, who mockingly congratulates Orange on beating Jon Moxley, then says it makes him sick that Shibata holding the Ring of Honor Pure Championship makes him sick and that he is taking it back.

MJF and Adam Cole head to the ring. MJF is seen using a cane while Adam Cole is still on crutches. MJF brags about beating "Switchblade" Jay White on one leg and proclaims that while Jay White is one of the best in the world, nobody is on his level. He then declares that none of this would be possible without Adam Cole, who says it is great to be back in Chicago and still be tag team champions with MJF with a little help from Samoa Joe. Adam Cole admits his ankle is still in bad shape and that he is not close to walking normally again, then says he will work hard to get back to what he does best at 100% before showing concern for MJF due to everyone gunning for him. MJF says not to worry about him and that he will send the person wearing his devil mask to a hell that will feel like heaven. Suddenly, The Devil appears on the video screen, then Samoa Joe shows up. Samoa Joe says there is too much concern in the ring for a time of celebration and mocks Adam Cole for not being able to help MJF, then says he is here to make sure honorable men honor their deals. MJF tells Samoa Joe to step back since his breath "smells like a skunk's asshole," then says he has thought about their deal and tells Samoa Joe "Blow me." Adam Cole quickly begs off Joe and warns MJF of how dangerous Joe is, then tells MJF to be a man of his word. MJF says he has no problem making Joe the other Ring of Honor legend he beats in Chicago twice, then makes the championship rematch for right here and right now. Joe declines, saying MJF will complain about how he was not 100% tonight. Joe says he wants the best MJF he can get and makes the match for Worlds End. MJF questions Joe for wanting him in Long Island, New York before telling him he has a deal. Both men shake hands, then MJF warns him that wrestling him in Long Island is not a wise idea before saying that the way Joe looks these days, he does not have many options. Joe then says that MJF's worries with The Devil go away today, because Joe considers him his property and that he will ensure he delivers the best MJF he can get before he chokes him out and takes his championship in front of friends and family.

Before the next match, Orange Cassidy says he has a Thanksgiving surprise. Danhausen makes his first appearance on AEW programming in months.

Orange Cassidy, Hook and Katsuyori Shibata beat "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker, "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard, Jake Hager in a trios match with a Redrum from Hook to Parker after Danhausen puts on Jake Hager's purple bucket hat and curses Hager before Shibata and Hook choke Parker and Menard out.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Adam Cole, who says he looks forward to physical therapy and getting back in the ring. He says he is proud of MJF for sticking to his word, then Roderick Strong and The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) show up. Cole tells Roderick he is not his best friend anymore and tells him to back off and leave him alone.

Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne head to the ring. Christian says Full Gear did not exactly go their way, and blames their loss on Luchasaurus. As he thought about how to get rid of "this losing aura," he realizes that Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne's live have gotten better since joining them. He then says that as his children, he will remake Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne in his image. Christian tells Luchasaurus to take a knee before demanding he does it, which he does. Christian dictates that the name "Luchasaurus" will forever be associated with "being a loser," and renames him with a name of strength, toughness and certain victory which has served him well: "Killswitch." After Christian says that Luchasaurus will be proving he is worthy of that moniker, Nick Wayne gets on one knee, but Christian tells him to get back up for he will never get on a knee for anyone again. Christian then says Nick is different and that he is his son and his golden boy, and will be known as "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne. All of a sudden, Nick Wayne's mother, Shayna, shows up and pleads with Nick Wayne before Christian asks why Shayna is here and calls her a terrible mother, saying unconditional love is not enough and she could not give him anything. He also says he is glad Nick's father is dead, because Nick would have disowned him anyway and was not near the man or father that he is. Christian then tells Shayna to get out of his ring, then Luchasaurus stands between Christian and Shayna. Christian tells Luchasaurus to get back on his knees, but Luchasaurus refuses. Christian slaps him and says they can do this the easy way or the hard way and threatens to remove his mask. When Luchsaurus refuses again, Christian inadvertently shoves Luchasaurus into Shayna, then commands Nick to grab two metal folding chairs from the ring. Christian prepares Shayna for the Con-Chair-To, then has Luchasaurus do the deed. As Luchasaurus lifts the chair up, Adam Copeland shows up and hits a Spear on Nick Wayne and boots Luchasurus in the face, then grabs a chair as Christian gets back in the ring with the TNT Championship. Interestingly, Luchasaurus pulls Christian out of the ring, but Nick Wayne becomes the recipient of a second Spear followed by an Impaler. Adam Copeland then hits Nick Wayne with the Con-Chair-To in front of Christian Cage, Luchasaurus and Shayna.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Angelo Parker, Anna Jay, Matt Menard and Jake Hager. Matt Menard and Jake Hager want to know what is going on, then Anna Jay says the focus is on her and says she is tired of everything going on and just wants to wrestle. When Ruby Soho calls Angelo Parker, Anna questions if Parker is on his side, and Parker says that he is.

"Switchblade" Jay White beats Rush in the Gold League of the Continental Classic and earns three points after nearly running Rush into the referee in the corner and hitting him with a low blow followed by Blade Runner.

We see footage from the Full Gear post-show media scrum where Chris Jericho tells Big Bill and Ricky Starks that he and Kenny Omega will see him soon. After the scrum, Starks and Big Bill attack Jericho with a road crate.

RJ City and Renee Paquette award the AEW World Women's Championship to "Timeless" Toni Storm in an Oscars-style announcement, with Mariah May handing the championship to Storm. Toni Storm thanks Tony Khan, Warner Bros. Discovery, Jack Warner, the locker room, Hikaru Shida, and "all the little Toni Storms out there" whom she tells to stay in school and earn a trade (and is almost played out in the process). Skye Blue then walks out to the ring for the next match.

Skye Blue beats Anna Jay and Ruby Soho in a three-way match as Saraya argues with Ruby Soho due to her budding relationship with "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker and Skye Blue is able to counter the Queenslayer.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Wardlow. Wardlow says the world does not revolve around MJF, and that the downfall of "The Devil" will happen on his time. AR Fox shows up and says Wardlow is putting the blame on everyone else like he did to Darby Allin, but Wardlow says he does not need advice from anyone and headbutts AR Fox.

Jon Moxley beats Mark Briscoe in the Gold League of the Continental Classic and earns three points.
