St. Patrick Day Slam - Dynamite recap for March 16, 2022

Adam Cole and reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) beat Jungle Boy, Luchasaurus and "Hangman" Adam Page in a six-man tag match.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Keith Lee, Powerhouse Hobbs and "Absolute" Ricky Starks. Starks says he was trying to be the bigger man by telling Keith Lee how things work, but Keith Lee wanted to do things his way and he got whupped for it. He tells Keith Lee that if he shows up Friday, he will be stomped out. Keith Lee reminds him and Hobbs that he beat them both up, then says he will see them Friday.

We see a brief video package of Kris Statlander removing her facepaint interspersed with shots of "Legit" Leyla Hirsch.

William Regal guests on commentary for the next match.

Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley beat Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Wheeler Yuta) with a Bulldog Choke from Moxley to Yuta. After the match, Wheeler Yuta heads back into the ring instead of leaving with the rest of Best Friends and tries to shake hands with William Regal. Regal slaps him in the face instead, and Yuta does not back down.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler). Wheeler says it did not come easy to fire Tully Blanchard, because he lost focus when they lost tag team gold. As Harwood say nobody respects Tully more than them, The Young Bucks show up. Matt Jackson says that they can hire the best person they can, but they will never be better than second best in AEW.

We hear from The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens). Max Caster says Keith Lee may be limitless, but he is "no limit" on the microphone, and Anthony Bowens says that Max will beat Keith Lee all over the arena. Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs show up and tells them to do the job and take out Keith Lee, then Swerve Strickland shows up and confronts Starks and Hobbs.

The Jericho Appreciation Society (Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Jeff Parker, Matt Lee, Daniel Garcia) head to the ring. Matt Lee says that the fans should thank Jericho for having an entrance theme to sing along to, and says if it were up to him, there would be no "Judas," and that Jericho is a better man than him. Jeff Parker says Jericho deserves to be praised and appreciated for his contributions to wrestling and beyond, then Jericho says that the earth has been around for four and a half billion years and everyone is lucky to be alive in "The Chris Jericho Era." He says that for thirty years, the fans have lived vicariously through him and that without him, there would be no AEW. He then says that instead of being praised, he is undermined and ridiculed. Jericho says that the fans have the total package in him, yet nobody appreciates him and some have even disrespected and embarrassed him, and says that the rest of the Jericho Appreciation Society are the only ones who still appreciate him. He says that none of them relate to the rest of the locker room, as they are all pro wrestlers and pro wrestlers are never famous or millionaires several times over, and says that he is "a sports entertainer," which causes the fans to boo him. Daniel Garcia says that if Jericho will call himself a sports entertainer, then he is one, too. Jericho calls Garcia "the epitome of a sports entertainer," and says he appreciates him because Jericho donated thousands of dollars to his recovery from an injury. He then brings up 2point0 (Jeff Parker and Matt Lee), and announces that Jeff Parker and Matt Lee will be known by their real names Angelo Parker and Matt Menard respectively and that the word "2point0" is "a bad name by bad creative." Jericho mentions that Menard and Parker appreciate him because he helped them get work when they were fired from WWE with an appearance on Talk Is Jericho, then calls Jake Hager "the hand of the king." Hager says that The Jericho Appreciation Society beats up pro wrestlers, and Jericho says that they are "the newest reinvention of the master manipulator" and that today is the day that a new era starts at the hands of the sports entertainer.

We hear from Serena Deeb, who says that she did not think about Hikaru Shida even once, then says she has her undivided attention again and tells Shida to imagine how much she will think about her when she ends her career.

Scorpio Sky retains the TNT Championship against Wardlow after Shawn Spears shows up with two chairs. Wardlow dares Shawn Spears to get in the ring, then MJF shows up out of nowhere and shoves Wardlow into the ring post. Scorpio Sky then rolls Wardlow up to retain. After the match, Austin Vanderford punches Wardlow, then MJF gets in the ring only for Wardlow to grab him. Shawn Spears hits Wardlow in the back, then Vanderford puts Wardlow in a rear naked choke while Sky punches Wardlow. Shawn Spears then hits Wardlow with a chair despite Wardlow trying to get his hands up, then Dan Lambert gives MJF some money before MJF punches Wardlow with the Dynamite Diamond Ring.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "Smart" Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill. Sterling asks who is ready for an opportunity, as does Jade.

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy). After the match, the Andrade Family Office shows up and surrounds the ring, then Darby Allin and Sting show up to have The Hardys' backs. The Andrade Family Office retreat.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Red Velvet. She says that while "Legit" Leyla Hirsch changed, she had her back because she was her friend, but now that she has seen what she has become, she will put a stop to it all on Rampage.

Thunder Rosa beats Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. in a steel cage match to become the AEW Women's World Champion! Thunder Rosa celebrates with "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes after the match.
