Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for March 2, 2022

Tony Schiavone and Tony Khan are in the ring to start tonight's show. Tony Khan thanks everyone for their support during the pandemic, then says tonight is a big night and this week is a big week. He then says that three years ago, AEW was started out in the Daily's Place parking lot, and that 17 years before that, Ring of Honor was formed. He says he has been a long time ROH fan, and that he just became the new owner of Ring of Honor. He says that Ring of Honor started with an era of honor, then mentioned that both men in ROH's first show's main event did not win that night. Those men were Christopher Daniels and Bryan Danielson, and they face off tonight.

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels after countering the Best Moonsault Ever into a triangle sleeper and Daniels passes out following elbows to the head. (The referee for this match, Paul Turner, was the referee for Ring of Honor's first main event between Daniels and Danielson twenty years ago.) After the match, Danielson says that twenty years after that Ring of Honor main event, they were in the main event tonight. He says that they started and ended matches with handshakes, then says he is in AEW, not ROH, and it is time to kick somebody's head in. Danielson proceeds to kick Daniels' head in, then tells Jon Moxley that he will do the same to him at Revolution. Jon Moxley then shows up. Moxley says that he is violent, but Danielson is more violent than ever. He says there are two paths he can walk right now, and the one he takes determines his future. He says that he could get his kicked in at Revolution and fade into obscurity, but he chooses to walk the other path where he refuses to die and that he will walk through fire, bullets and Bryan Danielson to do it. He says that his story is just beginning and that he will write his first chapter in blood at Revolution, then tells Danielson that if he wants to prove him wrong, then he must take his shot. Danielson teases fighting Moxley only to roll out of the ring and leave.

We hear from Darby Allin and Sting. Darby Allin says he is not worried about fines and suspensions for anyone who gets involved in the upcoming triple threat tag match, and neither does Darby. Darby says that while they may be teaming with Sammy Guevara at Revolution, it is showtime on Rampage.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) win the fifteen-team tag team Casino Battle Royal. At the beginning of the match, Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) show up, with Darius returning for the first time from injury in over a year. Also during the match, Danhausen comes out of the ring to curse Evil Uno before Trent Barretta eliminates him with a half-and-half suplex on the ring apron, and near the end of the match, ReDragon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) show up to watch the rest of the match from ringside. After the match, The Young Bucks and ReDragon stare down in the middle of the ring, then Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus show up on the stage.

Backstage, we hear from Chris Jericho, who says that the wrestling world is buzzing over his match with Eddie Kingston following their face-to-face meeting last week. He says Eddie is the star he hoped he would be and has his chance to win the big one. Jericho says he is "the big one," and asks Eddie Kingston if he has what it takes to beat him and get over his fear of success. He says that if Eddie can do that, he will shake his hand and have Eddie's utmost respect. Otherwise, he will laught at him and tell him to "GFY." Proud 'n Powerful (Santana and Ortiz) show up and fist bump Jericho, then Jericho asks "Are we good?" Proud 'n Powerful say yes, then Jericho says "I always got your backs."

CM Punk heads to the ring. He says that every morning, he would get up, splash water across his face and ask himself if he was the bad guy. Punk then one usually does not consider themselves the bad guy in their own story, and says he always considered MJF to be the bad guy. He gives MJF credit for baring his soul and sharing some deep thoughts, but he also cannot help but feel he is being gaslit and while he does not believe MJF is lying, he is still questioning his sincerity. Punk mentions a photo of himself with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, then says that for somebody who took his ball and went home, he has not been mad at the world or done horrible things like MJF has done. He mentions how MJF has hurt other people and says "hurt people hurt people," and says that when he showed up, MJF extended his hand but he did not shake it. Punk questions if he has been Dr. Frankenstein, then says there is nothing more impactful that he can say or do besides having a conversation with MJF in the ring in front of the world. MJF shows up, then CM Punk says he has done horrible things in his life and used to be so full of hate like MJF, then says that this hate will eventually burn MJF up. Punk says his respect is earned, not given, then says it is about the eleven-year-old kid who looks up to MJF like MJF looked up to him. He then says he woke up, splashed water on his face, and asked himself if he was the good guy only to answer "I sure am trying." CM Punk extends his hand, and MJF hugs him. Punk hugs him back, then MJF kicks him in the groin and hits him with the Heatseeker. He then reveals a T-Shirt with his photo with CM Punk on it. Shawn Spears and Wardlow show up with a dog collar, then hand him the Dynamite Diamond Ring. MJF puts the ring on and knocks Punk out with it before continuing to pound on Punk until security show up. MJF then cuts a promo similar to Punk's "I'm a snake" promo from Ring of Honor - the same promo that CM Punk cut when he turned heel in that promotion - and tells him that at Revolution that he is the devil himself. As Shawn Spears chokes out Punk with the dog collar, Darby Allin and Sting show up and chase MJF and Spears away.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Keith Lee. "Absolute" Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs show up, and Starks warns him that Rampage is "Starks country" and that if he shows up, he will not make it to Revolution. Starks says he will see him when he sees him, and Keith Lee says he will be there.

Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez beat Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. and Jamie Hayter.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Tay Conti and Anna Jay when Jade Cargill and "Smart" Mark Sterling show up. Anna Jay holds Tay Conti back as Sterling mentions that there is a no-contact clause before their TBS title match.

We see a video package for Kris Statlander vs. "Legit" Leyla Hirsch.

Wardlow beats Cezar Bononi. After the match, Shawn Spears tries to swing a chair at Cezar Bononi, but Wardlow stops him and stares him down. Shawn Spears backs off.

We hear from Malakai Black, who says that the House of Black gave PAC new sight and Penta el Zero Miedo a new means to find new levels of violence. Brody King says society shuns violence while the House embraces it, and Buddy Matthews shows up and says they seek the truth. Buddy then says the truth is that they are the House and the House always in.

Backstage, Shawn Spears and MJF let Wardlow know that if he wins the Face of the Revolution Ladder Match, he can keep the AEW title. As MJF says "Like you're going to win it anyway," Wardlow says it is because he is too busy helping him win. MJF goes up to Wardlow and slaps him, telling him not to mistake his benevolence for weakness and that he works for him, not AEW, or else he and his family will be out on the street.

Adam Cole and ReDragon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) beat "Hangman" Adam Page and The Dark Order (John Silver and Alex Reynolds). After the match, Adam Cole continues to attack Reynolds, and when Adam Page makes the save, ReDragon try to take him out only to get outsmarted by Page. Page goes for a Buckshot Lariat on Cole, but Fish trips him up on the ring apron. ReDragon then tie Adam Page to the ropes with duct tape and force him to watch as they lay Silver and Reynolds out. Cole tries to hit Page with the AEW title, and Page fends that off only to be superkicked. Cole then says the AEW title belongs to him.
