Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for May 6, 2020

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela.

Before the next match, Tony Schiavone interviews "The Native Beast" Nyla Rose, who says that she will always be the most dominant force in the AEW women's division before telling Schiavone to go back to the announce table and do his job while she goes out into the ring and does hers.

"The Native Beast" Nyla Rose beats Kenzie Paige.

We hear from MJF, who says that there are some younger talent are starting to claim themselves as "the next big thing," and says what is really cool is being "the big thing," and after being on TV in five or six months, he is the guy. He then says nobody wants to admit it because they hate his guts, and they all move the goalposts and compare him to legends as a result. He says that this all stems from the same insecurity that every single top guy in his sport has when they realize "a 24-year-old kid" has taken their spot, and says that "24-year-old kid" is ratings, a prodigy from bell to bell, a future champion and more "it" in his pinky than anybody has in their entire body. He says this "24-year-old kid" is a "24-year-old man" nobody has seen in the business before and can afford to stay at home, drink some wine and watch some old-school wrestling, as he knows that when he comes back to work, his spot at the throne will be where he left it without a solitary scratch, for that man is him. His chair is replaced with a real throne behind his back as he states that he will be back on his throne. It is then announced that he will return next week.

We hear from Shawn Spears, who says that "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes' career is over after what he did to him, and he says that all the blame is squarely on one person. He says that he has a brother 11 years younger, and says that if something like what happened last week were to happen to him, he would have shielded it from him. He then blames "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes for what happened to Dustin, and says it is either because Cody is selfish or because Cody feels only he alone can carry on the Rhodes legacy. He says that Dustin's career is over, and while he could care less what happens to Dustin or Cody, he could not live with what Cody did while Cody has proven that he can.

Tony Schiavone interviews Shawn Spears and MJF. MJF says that as much fun as he had watching his peers, he is looking forward to a real professional athlete last week. MJF then tells Spears - whom he calls the bravest man he knows - that he is brave for revealing the real "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes, and Spears asks MJF if he is 100%. MJF says he is not only 100%, he is "overhealed." When told that he is to face Jungle Boy at Double or Nothing, he is furious.

Jon Moxley beats Frankie Kazarian. After the match, Moxley is attacked by members of The Dark Order, and Scorpio Sky and "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels run in only to be overpowered as well. Brodie Lee then shows up and lays Daniels out with a steel chair hitting Moxley with a discus clothesline before telling Moxley that he is here to answer the bounty he put on his own head. He says that there is no crowd to save him or energy to raise him up, and that this is the energy that he feels now. Brodie then tells Moxley that he has so much that Moxley desires and that he is not the same person who looked eye-to-eye with him in the past, for he is now a leader who makes extraordinary and any one of his men would be willing to sacrifice themselves for him. After thanking Moxley for making himself available tonight, he then declares that Moxley has something he wants and desires: the AEW World Championship. He then questions is Moxley is as reasonable man as Evil Uno says he is and admits he does not know what Moxley is anymore other than "a scared, little fatherless boy from Cincinnati." Brodie Lee then tells Moxley to answer his challenge before The Dark Order makes him. Moxley tells Brodie Lee that all he had to do was ask, then Brodie Lee boots Moxley in the face before The Dark Order attacks Moxley again.

We hear from Brandi Rhodes, who says that Jake Roberts and Lance Archer's recent actions have been studied carefully and that she knows what to expect from them when they meet face-to-face in the ring, She tells Jake Roberts that if he were to hit her in the face, she will hit back, and that Roberts does not know her like he thinks he does. She then tells Roberts to keep her name out of his "dirty old mouth."

Lance Archer lays out Jason Cade near the guardrail before the next match.

Lance Archer beats QT Marshall. During the match, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. hits Marshall with her shoe, and Brandi Rhodes takes the shoe and throws it into the stands. After the match, Britt attacks Brandi and throws her into the ring after spiking her with a DDT on the outside, where Lance Archer is still waiting. Jake "The Snake" Roberts then enters the ring with a large snake and lays it on Brandi before threatening to toss the snake into the audience.

It is announced that Brodie Lee will challenge Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing, and that the TNT Championship Tournament Finals between "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and Lance Archer will also take place at the event. There will also be a Casino Ladder Match for a shot at the AEW World Championship at Double or Nothing, and that more details about the match will be announced next week.

Backstage, Taz interviews Darby Allin, who refuses to answer his questions or accept his help.

Next week: Brodie Lee vs. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels! MJF's first match since injury! Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) vs. Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent)! Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Lance Archer are interviewed! Hikaru Shida vs. Penelope Ford. vs. Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. vs. Kris Statlander! Chris Jericho in action!

Before the next match, Suge D strikes Chris Jericho from behind the guardrail after weeks of being made fun of - and called "Pineapple Pete" - on commentary by Jericho.

The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara, who go by the team name of "Le Sex Gods" in this match) beat Kenny Omega and "Broken" Matt Hardy in the latter's AEW in-ring debut, after the rest of The Inner Circle (Jake Hager, Santana, Ortiz) get involved. During the match, Jericho throws "Broken" Matt Hardy to the back, and Hardy returns minutes later as his "un-broken" self. Later on, when the match goes backstage, he goes back to being "broken" after being stuffed in an ice storage bin. The show ends with all five members of The Inner Circle flipping off the camera.

Here are the top five moments from tonight's show!
