Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 12, 2020

Hernandez beats Madman Fulton to advance to the semi-finals of the Impact World Championship #1 Contender's Tournament.

We hear from Michael Elgin, who is irritated that Impact wants to hold a #1 contender's tournament for the World title and making him prove himself when he has proved he is the best for the last 18 years. He then says that what happens next will be on Impact, and if beating people isn't good enough, he will have to send some people to the hospital.

Backstage, Jake Crist and Dave Crist have to calm Madman Fulton down, then Crazzy Steve shows up and notices that oVe seems to be "over" and that it takes more than a madman to lead a flock. Dave Crist takes offense to oVe being called sheep, and Jake tells Steve that Dave will kick his ass. Suddenly, Joseph P. Ryan shows up and calls Crazzy Steve's use of "crazy" offensive to crazy people.

Kylie Rae beats Tasha Steelz.

We hear from Rohit Raju, who says that change is happening right now and asks when he will get his big break after seeing people come and go and get their big break while he stays a joke to management and the fans. He says that his ability has been doubted, and that this will change tonight when he beats Trey Miguel. He says there is no more "Desi Hit Squad" and only the "Desi Hit Man," and he will win the World title.

Backstage, Suzy and Kylie Rae get re-acquainted.

Kimber Lee beats Havok with brass knuckles, unbeknownst to the referee. During the match, Neveah is seen again behind the barricade near the entrance ramp.

We see last week's vignette for Kiera Hogan.

It's time for Locker Room Talk. Madison Rayne and Johnny Swinger's guest this week is Ken Shamrock. Shamrock is not in the mood to deal with Swinger, whom he tells to get him some water. Shamrock says he has had issues with some people in Impact Wrestling since his return, then says he is here for the Impact World Championship. Suddenly, Michael Elgin shows up and punches Shamrock out. Elgin then lays a chair on top of Shamrock's face and strikes it with another steel chair after saying that the World title is his.

We hear from Sami Callihan, who says he has known Michael Elgin for years and that Elgin is trying to walk in his footsteps and outdo him only to fail. He says he is not finished with Ken Shamrock, and next week, his footsteps and Elgin's converge and only one man can advance. He says he will do whatever he has to do to win, as will Big Mike, and this time, it will be interesting.

Trey Miguel beats Rohit Raju with an inside cradle to advance to the semi-finals of the Impact World Championship #1 Contender's Tournament. After the match, Rohit Raju is furious with himself for losing.

We hear from Cody Deaner, who is trying to stay social and active and let out his energy in different ways (such as yoga, jogging and dancing in the middle of the road) while in quarantine in the middle of nowhere. We also see Cody wrestle an invisible opponent, climb a tree and beat up a stuffed animal.

At Battle Arts Academy, The North (Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) defend the Impact World Tag Team Championships again. Ethan Page tells Josh Alexander that he has hired and paid the most trustworthy and unbiased person to pick their opponents for tonight. The ring announcer says he has looked far and wide for two opponents, and that he has brought them here tonight. We then see their opponents: two more skinny guys not unlike the guys from last week. Once again, The North win in comical fashion.

At the bar, Rosemary talks to Mr. Mundo the stuffed dog, who is dressed for the occasion. Suddenly, John E. Bravo shows up and accuses Rosemary of taking the dog before taking the dog and says that he misses Taya Valkyrie as much as he is about to miss Rosemary.

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Matt Hardy from Victory Road 2011.

Backstage, Johnny Swinger is met by Chris Bey, who tells Swinger that Willie Mack has said he was the star of The Mack 'n Pack Connection and that he could not measure up to him. Swinger decides to find Willie Mack and beat him up.

Backstage, Johnny Swinger confronts Willie Mack and tells him he will make him humble. Willie Mack tells him that next week, he will get his shot at the X Division Championship.

Next week: Rhino vs. Ken Shamrock in the Impact World Championship #1 Contender's Tournament! XXXL (Acey Romero and Larry D) vs. TJP and Fallah Bahh!

Moose retains the TNA World Heavyweight Championship against Suicide. During the match, the referee goes down after Moose inadvertently splashes him in the corner, but the ref is back up moments before Moose hits No Jackhammer Needed to retain.
