Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 5, 2020

Sami Callihan shows up to start tonight's show. Sami says he sees everything, and while the world sits at home, he will brighten everyone's day just a little bit. He says he had the fight of his life against Ken Shamrock, but he is still standing and it will take a lot more to keep him down. He says that he went toe-to-toe with the world's most dangerous man, and the referee stopped the match because he needed help, but he will be damned if anyone helps him again. He says that this is why he attacked oVe, as he needs help from nobody. Sami then proclaims that he has unfinished business with Shamorck, and calls him out. Shamrock shows up and tells Sami to open his ears and calm down, and says that while he has fought a lot of tough guys in his career, Sami is "one tough S.O.B." After listing off a who's who of people he has tapped out, including Big Show and The Rock, he says they have two choices which he is okay with: finishing it outside, or shake his hand and put everything behind them. Before Sami can make a choice, Michael Elgin shows up and says he is the one and only rightful #1 contender and that he does not need any tricks like Sami does. Shamrock, tired of hearing Elgin talk, starts wanting some action. After Sami tells Elgin that all he will do is choke like he does whenever he goes for the World Championship, Elgin punches Sami, and while Sami and Shamrock get a few shots in, Elgin rolls out of the ring before Sami and Shamrock back into each other. After a brief confrontation, Sami suddenly disappears.

We hear from Chris Bey, who states that he is the undisputed #1 contender for the Impact X Division Championship. He says he finesses what he wants, when he wants, and he will finesse his way into becoming "The Finesse Division Champion," as all he needs is one shot.

We hear from Willie Mack, who says that he is still high off his X Division Championship win and that he did not expect Chris Bey to come after his title so soon. He says Bey has finessed his way into him finessing his foot up his ass.

XXXL (Larry D and Acey Romero) beats oVe (Jake Crist and Madman Fulton).

The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is Mick Foley vs. Kurt Angle at Victory Road 2009.

It's time for Locker Room Talk with Madison Rayne and Johnny Swinger. Tonight's guest is Havok. Havok threatens to beat Madison Rayne up if she gets under her skin, then Madison brings up Nevaeh. Havok says she does not know why Neveah was at Rebellion, then Madison Rayne introduces another person from Havok's past: Kimber Lee. Kimber says she may be new here, but Havok knows who she is and she is ready for her rise to the top. Swinger gets between them to get pushed away by Havok, and Havok reminds Kimber that she knows who she is, too.

We hear from Cody Deaner, who says that he has set up shop in the middle of nowhere, and we see him getting yelled at by somebody at a nearby house, talking to action figures, and selling merchandise off the side of the road.

Suicide beats Johnny Swinger.

We hear from Ace Austin, who says that Chris Bey has no idea who he is dealing with and that his match is a triple threat match due to Willie Mack owing him a title rematch. He says that he will take the title back even if he has to pin "the new guy" to do it.

In footage from earlier today, Josh Mathews interviews Moose. He refuses to mention how he got his hands on the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, and insists that he is the real world champion. When told about the upcoming #1 contender's tournament for the Impact World Championship, he is pulling out of the tournament because the Impact World Championship is "a second-class championship" and that his title is the best. Moose continues to insist that he won the title after beating several TNA legends, and says this makes him the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and declares the interview over to keep from putting his hands on Mathews.

Joseph P. Ryan beats Cousin Jake after grabbing the tights following a poke to the eyes as the referee is not watching.

Backstage, Jake Crist has to calm Madman Fulton, telling him he has to focus on the World Championship.

We hear from Kiera Hogan, who says that her career has always landed her in the passenger seat and that she is "The Girl on Fire."

In footage from the Battle Arts Academy and the Don Kolov Arena, The North ("All Ego" Ethan Page and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander) are introduced to a crowd consisting of a few training dummies. Page says that The North could vacation while stuck in Canada, but they will defend the tag team titles, as Alexander wants to inflict pain. The North are then introduced to their opponents, who are two skinny guys who come out to French music. Page makes fun of the two guys, who are known as "The Creeps," then they have their match. Page summons the referee by snapping his fingers, and the referee magically shows up. Not surprisingly, The North win.

At the bar, Rosemary wonders what to do next via some tarot cards.

We hear from Rohit Raju, who says that he would never be on the path to the World Championship, and with Moose having dropped out of the tournament, he has taken the spot. Now that he is on his own after three years, he will take what is his.

Next week: Rohit Raju vs. Trey Miguel and Mandman Fulton vs. Hernandez in the #1 contenders' World title tournament! Havok vs. Kimber Lee! Suicide vs. Moose for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship!

Willie Mack retains the Impact X Division Championship against Ace Austin and Chris Bey.
