Nikki tells Brie that she got a call from WWE stating she may not be needed until after SummerSlam, even though she is now medically cleared. Brie says that WWE is being protective and conscious of her recent neck injury, but Nikki just wants to come back and prove that she has overcome her injury.
Nattie and Maryse are at a hotel, where Maryse invited Nattie to her and Mike's party in Brooklyn, New York. The two of them come up with a theme for the party, and Nattie comes up with the idea of a prom-themed party, as Nattie has never went to prom.
Nattie finds out she, Eva Marie and Alexa Bliss and are taking on Trinity, Carmella and Becky Lynch at SummerSlam. Eva Marie is excited to be at the event.
Everyone is now at New York and spends time with the fans. Eva Marie says she is ready and raring to go
Mike and Maryse head to a restaurant. Mike brings up Nattie's idea of the prom theme, and thinks it is some kind of a joke. Maryse reveals she was dumped two hours before prom because the guy she asked out simply decided not to go, and she never went to prom as a result. Mike says he now has the motivation to make it happen after hearing that. Maryse then finds out on her smartphone that Eva Marie has been suspended for failing the Wellness Policy test three days before SummerSlam.
It is announced that Eva Marie has been suspended for 30 days for violating WWE's Wellness Policy. Eva Marie says that she has been on prescription medicine since she was in high school, and that the paperwork regarding it was turned in late. Everyone in the Women's Division is surprised by the news.
Lana is considering becoming the substitution for Eva Marie in the six-woman tag match at SummerSlam as she talks to her sister Hadassah.
Brie and Bryan go to a restaurant. She says that Nikki is wanting to get back in the ring, and asks Daniel Bryan to put in a good word for Nikki so she can replace Eva Marie in the six-woman tag match at SummerSlam.
Lana and her sister Hadassah go dress shopping. Trinity shows up, and Lana says she has decided to wear a tuxedo to the prom. Trinity thinks Lana is doing this so she can dance, but Lana claims she can out-dance Trinity, dress or no dress.
Brie and Nikki go out for some tweets for Nikki's cheat day as they also take care of some of their business ventures. Brie says she is happy to be at SummerSlam as a fan, and mentions that she asked Bryan to put in a word for her for the six-woman tag match at SummerSlam. Nikki is surprised, saying she doesn't want anyone's help concerning her return, and wants nature to take its course on that.
Renee, Nattie, and Trinity are at Tapout Gym to leading a workout and also answer fan questions. Trinity says she is so confident she will win her dance-off that she makes it a two-on-two contest. Trinity picks Jon Uso as her partner, while Lana picks Nattie.
Brie and Bryan are at the hotel. Brie mentions Nikki flipping out when she told her that he asked Bryan to put in a good word for her. Bryan asks Brie if she consulted her first, and it becomes apparent she did not. Bryan tells Brie that while her heart was in the right place, she should consulted with her first.
Nattie asks Lana to teach her a few dance moves. They head to a dance studio to see what can she do, but it becomes obvious that Nattie has a long way to go.
Brie and Nikki are going to a Birdiebee meeting. Nikki is trying not to be frustrated with Brie. Brie apologizes to Nikki for not consenting with her concerning the SummerSlam slot. Nikki wants to make sure that everything she has worked for is earned, and not because she is John Cena's girlfriend.
Lana does some breakdancing on the street. A few people capture it on their smartphones and even enjoy it.
Maryse gets a prom dress from Mike. We then learn that this is the exact same dress that Maryse was supposed to wear at prom before she was stood up two hours before it happened.
Mike and Maryse head to their prom party in Brooklyn. Dennis Haskins, best known for his role as Mr. Belding on Saved By The Bell, is the official prom principal. We find out there will be a contest to determine the Prom King and Queen. We then see a Saved To The Bell-style montage of the prom party. Nattie compares party guests to certain characters from Saved By The Bell. Trinity and Lana have their dance-off. Mike and Maryse are made the Prom King and Queen.
It is SummerSlam morning. Nobody knows who will be replacing Eva Marie. Lana is hoping to wrestle at the event. We then see the dilemma that Nattie had at the beginning of the episode, where she says she is going to lose it if she doesn't find out who will replace Eva Marie in her match.
It is revealed that Nikki Bella is replacing Eva Marie in the six-woman tag team match at SummerSlam. Nikki is amazed by the fan reaction, and is glad to be back home in the ring. Trinity also celebrates the past year of growth in the WWE, and we see the debut of the Rack Attack 2.0. Nattie says that the future of the Women's Division has never been brighter. Brie looks back at the past year, where she retired while watching her sister Nikki work hard to get back to wrestling in the ring.
Three weeks later, Brie and Bryan find out that Brie is three weeks pregnant and that they are having their first child.
We see a preview of Season 2 of Total Bellas.
