Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for January 3, 1999

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) show up to start tonight's show. Gunn says he has some business to attend to with "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, and he assures Shamrock that he will continue to hound him until he gives him what is rightfully his: the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Road Dogg then addresses The Rock, saying that the fans are right when they chant "Rocky sucks," and last week, he put the WWF Hardcore Championship on the line against Mankind, who beat the shit out of him until The Rock got involved, and now he wants to whup The Rock's ass in a hardcore match with the Hardcore title on the line. The Rock then shows up with Test, Shamrock and The Big Boss Man, and Shamrock tells Gunn that what he fails to realize is that he is a world-class UFC champion while Gunn is a piece of trash, and that Gunn isn't getting a title shot because he is a degenerate and a punk. The Rock then says Road Dogg wants to be famous, and that he is not worthy, much less ready for him, and if he wants to lay his hands, he'll have to beat Test one-on-one.

Michael Cole interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock in the locker room. Shamrock shoves Cole for mentioning that people are saying he is ducking "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn, then Gunn rushes in and attacks Shamrock. Referees quickly move in to separate both men.

Before the next match, George "The Animal" Steele tells Mosh he is going to wrestle him, and if he wins, The Oddities (Golga, Kurrgan, Giant Silva) get a shot at their imitation tag team titles. Mosh accepts the challenge, not taking any of this seriously.

George "The Animal" Steele beats Mosh with a foreign object after Kurrgan and Golga toss Mosh back into the ring.

In San Antonio, Texas, "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels admits he is afraid of a lot of things, but he is not afraid of WWF owner Vince McMahon and after being pushed by him for ten years, he is more than ready to push back. He guarantees that he will be at Raw tomorrow night, and that Vince just might get a kick out of it.

"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley beats "Sexual Chocolate" Mark Henry after Chyna shows up on the stage with another woman in a black dress, distracting Mark Henry.

We see Shane McMahon training WWF owner Vince McMahon for the Royal Rumble Match.

Before the next match, Val Venis says "The Big Valbowski" is a lot like a beer can: not short and fat, but when the top is popped, you will get drunk on what's inside.

Val Venis beats Christian. After the match, the lights go out, then Gangrel and Edge show up, attacking Val Venis alongside Christian. When the lights come back on, Val Venis is the victim of another bloodbath.

Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart beat "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Big Boss Man after Debra distracts The Big Boss Man on the apron and putting one of his hands on her rear end, allowing Jeff Jarrett to win the match with a schoolboy pin.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Jeff Jarrett and Owen Hart. Owen says it was no upset and that their match should have been a tag team title shot. He says that he and Jarrett have beaten "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and The Big Boss Man once and that they can beat them again, and next time, the tag team titles should be on the line. Jarrett says he is pissed off that the tag team titles were not on the line, but nevertheless, they have the best secret in the WWF in Debra. Debra says she is one secret that can't be kept under wraps.

Mankind guests on commentary for the next match (and scares Shane McMahon away from the commentary table in the process). When "Road Dogg" Jesse James shows up, he apologizes to Mankind and says he could give him a Harcore title reamtch if he could. He then has Mankind play the part of "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn for his intro. Mankind says that if the crowd is not down with Road Dogg being a fine Harcore Champion, then he has one word for them: Socko.

"Road Dogg" Jesse James beats Test by disqualification after The Rock shows up and stomps Road Dogg. After the match, Mankind runs intot he ring to fight The Rock, and he and Road Dogg brawl with The Rock and Test to end the show.
