CM Punk heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Punk talks about how he returned for championship gold only to be sidetracked along the way, then states that he is back on track towards winning a world title. He admits that Gunther is one of the best wrestlers in the world and that he looks forward to lacing up with him, and with the fans' support, he promises that he will leave it all in the ring and give everything he has at SummerSlam. He says that he only has two weeks to prepare for Gunther, but he has been training for this for his entire life, as he is not just any other wrestler or challenger; he is the best in the world. Suddenly, Gunther shows up and heads to the ring. The crowd chants "You tapped out!" at Gunther before he can ever speak, then Gunther syas he is not here to throw insult at Punk or create any drama, but to point out similarities: they are here to make money and win championships, and both consider themselves the best. He admits that they both have massive ego, but while the fans have waited for Punk to return for years, his own ego is justified and based on results. He says the best in the world is the man who holds the World Heavyweight Championship. Gunther says he only concentrates on what happens after the bell rings, and after the bell rings, he will make Punk regret he ever stepped foot in a wrestling ring and make Punk realize he was right when he says Punk will never be the best in the world and win his title.

Becky Lynch heads to the ring. Becky takes exception to the boos and says she should be in New York City for the premiere of Happy Gilmore 2, but she is here instead, because that is what leaders do and she has important business to discuss. She talks about how she narrowly won at Evolution and did what she did what she said she would do, then says she was honest about it while Lyra Valkyria keeps bogarting opportunities for other women. She asks who needs two championships despite being a double champion in the past, and says Lyra's ambitions are completely selfish. Becky then calls Lyra out to the ring. Lyra shows up and heads to the ring, and Becky says that they are one for one in singles competition and that she made her a star, but the trilogy ends at SummerSlam. Becky states that this time, if Lyra loses, she can never challenge her for the Women's Intercontinental Championship ever again. Lyra says that every time she takes care of a problem, it comes back to haunt her, probably because she never goes far enough. Lyra accepts the challenge, stating there will be no count-outs or disqualifications and that there must be a winner. Lyra says that every time she takes care of a problem, it comes back to haunt her, probably because she never goes far enough. Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker and "Big" Bronson Reed head to the ring. Heyman states that he stands with the future of the industry in Breakker and Bronson, then says that he has a lot of things to get off his chest before Roman Reigns arrives, which Roman does before Heyman can utter another word. Heyman states that he does not want to come off as disrespectful or rude, and tells Roman that Seth "Freakin'" Rollins will be out of action "for a long, long time." He then says that this opens up a leadership void and that they can fix things and put them back together, as Roman knows deep in his heart that they are far better together than opposing each other. Heyman says Roman will always be his family, because "I love you, my Tribal Chief." He then hands Roman the microphone. Roman says that a few years ago, he would have considered that "wise words from a wiseman," but he does not consider Heyman a wiseman anymore; he considers him a dumbass. Breakker and Bronson hold Heyman back, and Roman warns them that Heyman will do what he did to him in a few years and try to take all the credit, stating that he, not Heyman, created "the Tribal Chief." Roman says he is still Tribal Chief because the fans acknowledge him, and because he was the greatest champion of all time. He says Heyman had a hand in that, but not in keeping the championship, stating that The Bloodline ("Main Event" Jey Uso, Jimmy Uso, Sami Zayn, Solo Sikoa) made that all happen. Roman admits that he lost the title, then states that Heyman claimed that he tucked tail to do whatever when he was really raising "the future Bloodline." Roman claims that Heyman thought The Bloodline was just another wrestling faction when they were really family, which Roman claims is "God's work" as he proclaims that Heyman could never make The Bloodline. He then states that what really bothers him is that Heyman was just a business partner when he made him part of the family, and that Heyman threw it all away for a best friend that he had not talked to in order a decade. Roman then credits Heyman for ruining The Bloodline. Breakker takes the microphone and tells Roman that he is not wanted anymore, as he is "yesterday's news" and only relevant five years ago, and is only taking a spot in his ring. He says that Heyman will not stab him in the back because he holds value in WWE while Roman is worthless, and proclaims that he is "the big dog" now. Breakker then tells Roman to do what he does best and turn around and leave, and Roman says that he did not hear a word Breakker says and to use his microphone. He tosses his mic to Breakker, then hits him with a Superman Punch. Roman then hits Bronson with several punches, but Breakker hits Roman with a Spear. Breakker and Bronson gang up on Roman, and as Bronson goes for a tsunami, Jey Uso shows up and fights the both of them. Roman and Jey then simultaneously Spear Bronson and Breakker at the same time to end the show.
