"Main Event" Jey Uso heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Before Jey Uso can speak, Paul Heyman shows up and mentions Jey being in the main event tonight with "Big" Bronson Reed, but when he gets started on the subject of family, Heyman sees the look in Jey's eyes and backs off. He finds it audacious that Jey is teaming with Roman Reigns against Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker in the name of family, then says that family will always let one down and is always going to get one in trouble. He compares the situation to being lied to by his mother about Santa Claus leaving presents underneath the tree, being told by his father to be more iconic than he ever was, or Solo being picked over him as next in life for Tribal Chief by Roman. He also says that Roman Reigns lied to him about telling Jey that he loved him before making a loud "YEEEEEEET!" sound and tossing the microphone towards the ring. This leads to a "bullshit" chant from the crowd. Jey takes the microphone and says that family is why he is here, and dares Heyman to keep running his mouth, because he pulls up for his family every single time. He also says that he accomplished what he accomplished in spite of Roman and to prove things to himself, then asks Heyman where his family is since he wants to mention his and says that what happens from here on out will be on Heyman.

Bronson says Jey and any member of his family who shows up will be left down, out and Tsunami'd. Heyman is surprised that worked after Bronson leaves, then Breakker says that he has a plan.
Lyra Valkyria heads to the ring. Lyra shows off her shoes, which she calls "Becky stompers," then says that in one week, she will either be the first-ever two-time Women's Intercontinental Champion or she will have failed and cannot challenge Becky Lynch for the title again. Suddenly, Kross and Scarlett show up and take control of the interview from Graves, then laments the fact that he has not gotten Sami to show his true colors. He states that after he beats Sami, he will make Sami claim that he told the truth, then Scarlett hands Kross a pipe, who then hands it to Sami as he says that Sami is not special. Sami asks what Kross wants a first, but agrees to say whatever Kross wants him to say if Kross beats him. Gunther heads to the ring. Gunther says that last week was a clean victory for him, as he went toe-to-toe on the microphone with CM Punk after he told him what would happen to him at SummerSlam and left him speechless. He says he made CM Punk understand that he is not the best in the world and will never be World Heavyweight Champion in addition to making him shut the hell up, then CM Punk shows up. Punk says he was more dumbfounded than speechless after what Gunther said, as it dawned on him that he does not want to be World Heavyweight Champion; he needs to be World Heavyweight Champion. He says he needs to be World Heavyweight Champion like he needs air in his lungs, like his heart to pump blood through his veins, like the Detroit Red Wings need a 12th Stanley Cup and like a Midwestern dad needs a beer while mowing the lawn. He says he does not drink, but he gets addiction, and he is addicting to winning championship gold and raising it above his head for the man that have chanted his name for over the last 10-plus years. Punk says he needs to be World Heavyweight Champion, and for Gunther to state that he does not deserve to call himself the best in the world when he has earned that title and the right to be arrogant about it. He states that Gunther shows that same arrogance, then interrupts him to tell him that there are levels to this and that Gunther is not on his level, and on Saturday night, he will leave World Heavyweight Champion.
